Morning Eds, hope you're well.

All the names getting banded about, there doesn't seem to be a lot of players that will help with the homegrown quota.

With Ox and Milner leaving, can you see the HG quota becoming an issue again?

Cheers and good luck over the next few months!

BennytheRed

{Ed002's Note - The club will no doubt be considering the issue, but you are right there is a potential problem.}

Did you say that Lavia would become HG eds2?

{Ed002's Note - Yes he will.}

I know it's pre season but I've been quite impressed with some of the performances, particularly over the last 2 nights.

Is Tsimikas still wanting away eds, or do you think him likely getting a chance will change that?

Apologies if it's been covered, I couldn't see it in the search.

BennytheRed

{Ed002's Note - The club have been refusing to sell him so he stays with YL gone.}

Tsimikas is our second choice lb and is going no where. Klopp says he would have played him last season but just too many cb injuries.

Cheers Ed, appreciate the quick response.

That was great entertainment. Some very good performances, Ox played really well, as did Minamino.
Roll on Saturday, let the starting 11 guessing games begin.

4.) 09 Aug 2021 21:35:31
i read somewhere that Tsimikas is trying to fit in, be a part of this wonderful team and that he posts all his messages on Instagram with the hashtag greekscouser.

{Ed0666's Note - I heard his moniker was #greekrobbo?

5.) 09 Aug 2021 21:49:46
Does that make young Owen Beck the #Welshrobbo?

on a serious note Owen Beck looked decent in both games, hopefully see him in some cup games or dependant on Robbo, beck goes out on loan and gets some decent experience.

I agree with Monstersouness. As much as I dislike City and their approach, it's not really the players fault of how the club is run and deserve credit for some of the brilliant football they've played and the success it's brought them.

This forum is an example of a lot of fans wanting Liverpool to be able to go out and spend whatever money on any player we want. If we got bought by a state, I would hate it and it would be 'a disgrace' but I have no doubt within 12-24 months I'd care about it less and less. Unfortunately, sports washing is a real thing and id be a hypocrite to say id have strong enough morals to hate the people investing in my club, and often community, especially if they are successful.

As for Silva, he's a player opposition fans love to hate because of his s**thousery, we've have/ had Suarez, Robbo, and to a certain extent Trent and Jota, over the last few years who fit that bill. As much as he's a panto villain I reckon the vast majority of us would think he was amazing if he was wearing the Liverpool shirt. That said, he's a brilliant player but I'd happily see the back of him for city.

I think that's a brilliant post redflag. Couple of good replies in there as well. In my opinion sums it up perfectly. As a business decision, it is a fantastic one for the shareholders and those financially linked to the club/ s. Risk free and massive returns. Of course the majority in that position with little emotional link to the club would go for it.

From a sporting integrity or a fan perspective who want to see competition, it's awful and will/ has killed the sport. Unfortunately, the leading role our owners have played hurts the most.

I'm a bit nervous about Kabak. Don't really fancy having a player who spits at others. Only positive would be if it is a loan with an option to buy and we get any of that behaviour we can turn down the opportunity.

I feel sorry for Matip. Not disagreeing that needs replaced for someone more available but apparently it's a completely different injury.

Shame because he's such a good, reliable (in terms of performance) defender. Anyway, wish him a speedy recovery.

First Liverpool memory was beating Palace 9-0 at anfield in 1989. 8 different scorers with Nicol scoring the first and last.
Ridiculous football on display in that game particularly from Barnes and Beardsley.

In fairness we hadn't done much for a long time until the last 3 years. Based on that arguement someone like Porto, for example, win their national league frequently and have had champions league success in the last 20 years amd should be just as viable for it as us, Arsenal, Man Utd and Spurs.
Akira is right, it's based upon money and marketability, and as part of a club which has maintained its stance as a club 'for the people', I'm embarrassed to call myself a fan this morning.
I've been a big fan of FSG. They've built a relatively decent business model which has increased the value of the club significantly and isn't based upon a risky 'sugar daddy' type model like City, PSG or Chelsea.
For me, this is final nail in the coffin of football being a sport and the love of the game, and not a business for profit. It probably passed a long time ago but there was always that hope.

I suppose the Man Utd thing explains we've never seen a post for at least 8 or 9 years, Ed77 😉!
Joking aside, welcome and good luck.

{Ed077's Note - Oh you've seen me post. Remember me knocked you out the FA cup just a few weeks ago only😜😂

And Thank you Benny}
