Morning all,
Ed001, in the light of this Mbappe saga, are you able to do another profile on him.
I did a search on the player profiles and I think you did one when he was 18. Would be interesting to see how you think he has developed and if he has reached is potential or not.
Though I don't think this will happen. But if we did somehow get him to come to Liverpool it would be interesting to see what sort of person he is, would he fit in etc?
I do think it would completely mess up our recruitment for the next few years if he did come. And we need replacements/ backups in other areas.

I think a lot of people focus too much on how much he would cost and try and then justify it. His cost would be obscene and not achievable in itself.
But I think people forget that as he plays on the left or upfront (areas we are well stocked in) then we would likely need to move on some of our other big names in the squad like Nunez and Diaz, not easy in itself. And then when Salah goes we are left with a big empty hole on the right with no money to fill it.
As good as he is, he’s really not worth the money or the disruption to the team and club.

Not that he is ever going to sign for us I have to ask… is Mbappe really worth that money? Ludicrous money and I don’t know any player is worth that.
He’s the new poster boy of the sport and I accept you are buying his ‘brand’ as much as you are the player. But as players go we could have someone just as effective for a quarter of the price. Just my opinion.

Perhaps he wants to earn that kind of money to make him financially stable to support his future children’s children and all of his family.
That was the narrative we supported in the summer when our ex players were off to Saudi to earn money that they weren’t arguably worth.

JK23 nobody is questioning him for wanting to earn that kind of money. Good luck to him whatever his motives are.
I just don’t think he’s worth it to us. He probably is worth it to Real Madrid who have a history of the Galacticos so he’ll find himself in good company. He’d probably also do well at City who are no strangers to signing big players with big personalities.
I just don’t think he suits Liverpool. It’s not what we do and never has been.

My comment is tongue in cheek.
Mbappe is absolutely class and him in our team would be amazing but it’s not going to happen.
There’s more chance I play for Liverpool than Mbappe.

Let's face it guys the money these guys are on isn't about future generations of family. Its about Ego. This was like the old film stars when one got paid 20 million so another got paid 20 million and 1 dollar. None of our business of course but I doubt anyone needs millions and millions a year to survive.

Well not the best performance but made it through. I am quite amazed at all the posts tonight so quick to jump on the team & mangers back.
Yes we have a problem with finishing teams off, had it for a few years now, but should we give Notts County some credit? Obviously played their hearts out and deserve the extra time.
People say we should of played kids and I bet the same people would of said we should of played more experience lads if the other way round.
Just can't win with most of you lot. The man u game will be a completely different game. And if professional footballers can't recover in 5 days then they should'nt get the silly money they get.
Let's hope the injuries are not as bad as they seem. And we all are behind the lads come the Manu game regardless of who we have signed or not signed!

Thanks for the report, I do wonder how Wijnaldum is still being played? And if Jones has done something wrong!
I understand Jones has been injured and is only young so maybe they are just easing him down for a nice long rest this summer. And then he can be ready to take Gini's place in the side. Or is it a more tactical decision with Thiago being in the midfield, Klopp thinking he needs a more defensive player and trusts Gini to do that. Gini can be such an attacking threat when he wants to be, those forward runs give teams a headache with not knowing who to pickup.
But he isn't doing that enough and at times I do wonder if he wants to be on the pitch and just thinking about where he will be next season. Would it not be better giving Jones more game time or is Klopp just going with who he trusts to get 4ht place? Just thinking out aloud, not having a go at Gini or Klopp just interested in peoples opinions!

Its an interesting question with a few more to go with it.
How much would his wages be, I assume very high as he is probably looking for one last good contract before he finishes.
Is he going to be fit for a season?
Does he fit our system as he is more of a box striker?
What is he like as a person as we have to close squad who all get on, so would he fit into it?
So will answer your question with a 'No' for me.

You do realise the 2 cbs only signed late on Monday so there is no way they could of been involved in Wednesday's game. And the fact that we have a stable back 4 for the first time for a while.
I doubt you will see them against city either as it would be a big game to drop them into. Maybe one of them if they have fitted in well in training.
Though I do completely agree with you on the subject of Origi, he has lost his way and if we are going to stick with him then he needs game time. Else sorry he may have to look elsewhere for a game.
