Good day guys, I have been thinking about firmino, s role in the team, about how he could change his pattern of play to suit the team, since he has been found out on his present role, what I'm trying to say is that can kloop not make him a goal poacher? or is he too old to adapt his game. looking at it when kloop was in Dortmund, he always had goal poachers, for example take the case of Robert lewandowski, it was kloop who made him the great player he is today, though I must admit he has taken his game to a whole new level since then, but the main point is kloop nutured him. my point is I think kloop can do same with firmino, that is just my take though others might disagree, like some will say he doesn't have speed, but come to think of it, lewandowski is not very fast so I think it can be done with firmino, though he can still be a team player but the point is he should be more in the opposition penalty area and allow the rest of the team to do more of the play, what do you guys think.

His best strength is his ability to create space and chances for others and his worst is his finishing and you'd want to give up the former and make it all about the latter?

{Ed077's Note - It would be like Man Utd moving Fred into a more advanced role and asking him to create and score.

There is a saying which goes something like:
Accentuate the positives, hide the negatives.
The OP is suggesting doing the opposite.

2.) 10 Mar 2021 13:59:43
Bobby could create space in a phone box with Gemma Collins apparently.

3.) 10 Mar 2021 14:48:38
Champs, I don't think Bobbie has been found out as much as many would think. Let me explain. I think Bobbie's best games have been when our team have been able to squeeze up the pitch and most importantly, the press is on point. Even in the games we have won and played well in this season, majority have come when we were really good in the press and with Hendo in that midfield orchestrating.

When that happens, Bobbie has support from midfield and runners ahead of him which them makes him drop a lot less deeper to orchestrate and we all know that when Bobbie is on song, we are very difficult to handle. Since that has not been happening consistently due to obv. reasons, the press is woeful and disjointed, the runners ahead of him are low on confidence and worse, Bobbie cannot even get anywhere near the box consistently score nor orchestrate cos he is busy dropping deeper into his own half hence, making him look useless.

Should he play better and do more or get players in to help out cos he plays WAY too many games? Of course and I am all for that BUT the fundamentals that I mentioned above have to be addressed first before anything else. Just my take.

4.) 10 Mar 2021 14:53:13
I could do the same though JK. With the addition of a chainsaw.

5.) 10 Mar 2021 16:45:15
The low block has hugely hindered Firmino’s contribution to the team.
The two massed ranks of 4 or 5 opposition players in their own half has denied him any space and he’s got nowhere to go.
Klopp’s and the team need to fins a way to make him useful and effective again, in my view.

Hello guys, what's the matter with David's it seems that he was not a kloop signing, because seeing Williams in that line up made me disappointed, surely I'm sure he's better than Williams if not even faster than him, at Least he should be given game time to know if he can handle the intensity.

Davis- he can’t handle the training, he can’t get himself fit for a match day. I would really like to see him play but atm he is not an option unfortunately.

2.) 08 Mar 2021 13:32:39
markp08 - how do you know he can't handle the training? Has this been mentioned by anyone at the club.

I remember when Klopp first came in lots of players were getting injured due to the training measures, so I was just wondering if tis is the case.

3.) 08 Mar 2021 14:05:12
OP, the guy is injured. That is all you need to know. Whether he can handle training or not is a Dear Klopp question.

Hi guys, relating to the match tomorrow I think we just have to beat Chelsea, anything else is a no go for me. the games are getting smaller and we cannot afford to dropping points here and there, mind you we have some tough away games to come (arsenal and man United) . So it is imperative that we need to take advantage of our home games from now henceforth if we want to achieve our aim of champions league football for next season. concerning tomorrow's game, I am quietly confident of beating Chelsea, why because they will come out to play and that suits us to a Tee, here's hoping for victory to the Reds, up Liverpool.

Every time we play I expect and want us to win. Comeon reds!

2.) 03 Mar 2021 17:40:29
From what I’ve seen of Chelsea since Tuchel took over they set up very defensively as a 3 4 2 1 which retreats into a 541 and becomes very defensive just looking to nick the odd goal and shut the game off. Exactly the kind of set up we struggle against.

3.) 03 Mar 2021 17:44:45
A point will be a good result tomorrow, especially with the fixtures coming up.

4.) 03 Mar 2021 18:00:17
Why not drop all the "must win" pressure and let's just focus on doing wat we do best winning games and performing to a high standard!

5.) 03 Mar 2021 18:30:17
6 times I get where you are coming from, but the point I was trying to make is that, Chelsea likes to dominate games since tuchel came, all the games they played they dominate which will likely play to our hands, I don't think their coach is the type that plays defensive hence the comparison with kloop, apart from that their midfield is not that tstrong, so I think if we play to our strength we win simples.

6.) 03 Mar 2021 19:55:06
They’ve seemed pretty defensive since he’s come in, he’s certainly no advocate of ‘heavy metal football’ that’s for sure. Playing with 5 defenders in the team and a defensive midfielder is about as negative as it gets! I look at our midfield and think that unless Fab is playing there, we’re getting beaten because without Fabinho and Henderson we’re very lightweight in midfield.

7.) 03 Mar 2021 21:42:50
We need to set up like we did against sheff utd, get trent and robbo pushing their wing backs towards their own goal.
Mane pushing through the middle with Bobby dropping, doubt jota will start, then fab can make a 3 at cb whilst attacking with gini/ Thiago and Jones in midfield.

3-4-1-2 whilst attacking
Then
4-3-3 when defending.

8.) 03 Mar 2021 21:47:35
Hmmm. I'm not confident at all. I didn't see that much of an improvement against Sheff Utd to think we have remotely turned a corner. I think we are a brave few of our better players short to win. Hope I'm wrong like.

9.) 03 Mar 2021 21:51:22
Spot on, Hailstones. Enuff of this whole “must win” schstick. It is just a way to apply unwarranted pressure on an already vulnerable team hence if they don’t win, people can kick off all over again.

There are still 12 games left to play or so hence, nothing will b decided win, lose it draw. I hope we win and it will b a very tough game cos Tuchel has Chelsea playing conservative football and then going from there. We should go at them for sure BUT must remember that if you can’t win the game, you best NOT lose it.

10.) 03 Mar 2021 22:57:29
I just fancy us to win.

11.) 04 Mar 2021 08:31:19
Every game IS a must win no matter if it prem, CL, FA cup. We are a massive club! The hole adding pressure is nonsense these are elite very very well paid players who have played and won the biggest games that you can in football. A pressure job to me would be a doc or nurse that has to decide who gets the oxygen and lives and who doesn’t and dies.
Sorry rant over.

12.) 04 Mar 2021 10:17:45
I’d like to think the players and management go into every game thinking it’s a must win. I don’t think I’ve ever seen us set up for a draw under Klopp so surely he must think their must wins.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, it's been long we've heard from that Dutch coach who always blame kloop for injuries to the players, I thought by now he would have come out to speak about the current situation.

Champs, the guys was never a thing and prolly since Klopp has won things, his whole schstick is now debunked and he prolly gets to shut up forever on this topic. Wouldn't hold my breathe, tho.

{Ed001's Note - he was a scammer trying to sell his periodical training bollox on the back of an actual genuine quality coach. It was just about getting himself free publicity. Now he has been shown to be completely wrong, the free publicity gravy train has gone.}

2.) 19 Feb 2021 09:13:44
Raymond Verheijen, he’s a bit of a knob to be fair.

3.) 19 Feb 2021 10:09:07
nothing wrong with periodic training! but this guy was definitely just milking the narrative for his own gain.

{Ed001's Note - there is a lot wrong with any system which claims to be a perfect system for all. There is no such thing as every person is different and needs a tailored individual training set up. That periodic crap is as useless as all the other fad training routines.}

What a difference to play a team that actually wants to have a proper game of football though instead of this 11 men behind in your own penalty area clap trap that we’re subjected to in the PL every week.
But, as you say, back to that and Everton.
I just hope that they keep their scissor tackles and leg breakers in the dressing room anyway.

2.) 17 Feb 2021 07:10:38
totally agree. when teams pitch up and play against us, we seem to come into own.

3.) 17 Feb 2021 08:28:13
What? It's payback time. That first derby has turned out to be a season defining game. We play football, but Carl's boys need a lesson or two.

4.) 17 Feb 2021 09:57:11
Best we make Pickford look like the dufus he is by sticking 5 past him.

OliRed as it is our opinions are different relating to the game, but I stand by my word that mancity controlled the game, if you look at the stats from the game, big chances created by both sides where 1-5 in favour of mancity from which we scored from and mancity missed two big chances, so there you have it, no argument.
