Ed002 with declan rice looking unlikely to move anywhere this summer could he let his contract run down the following season or do you see him moving next summer? Think he would be a great player for Liverpool.

Cookee

{Ed002's Note - His contract doesnot run out next year and Liverpool has shown no interest in him.}

1.) 17 Jun 2022 21:54:23
Besides- even if he said he’ll play for us mght not mean he’ll play for us ?.

2.) 17 Jun 2022 22:39:08
Apart from that.?

3.) 18 Jun 2022 08:52:01
Even though many here are talking about Declan the player himself wants Chelsea and is a massive Chelsea fan. Now if Chelsea want him is another thing but I don't see why we would even try to pursue him. Pluss even though a good player I think he is a tad overated.

4.) 18 Jun 2022 09:46:26
Malak I think his massively overrated.

5.) 18 Jun 2022 10:01:09
Declan Rice in front of Fabinho? What are you smoking.

6.) 18 Jun 2022 11:59:40
If Rice was from Macedonia, he'd be worth about 20m.
He's a good player, but is he that much better than say Bissouma (bar the legal issues)?

7.) 18 Jun 2022 13:29:40
I think Rice is among the best of his age group when he plays box to box. As a holding midfielder, he merely does a job and that is why he looks average for England. People often forget he's still only 23. At a similar age Henderson was nearly swapped for Clint Dempsey!

I'd take Rice at Liverpool but he has become over rated by some. Worth £50m tops. Nowhere near the £150m West Ham reportedly want.

8.) 18 Jun 2022 21:12:38
150 million?! Daaaamn that's crazy money. At that price I would expect Xabi Alosno and Iniesta rolled into one!

Nunez is going to be special for us. The rawness will eventually be polished out. He's a great finisher and only 22 . There's something about the lad that you know he's going to work his socks off to become the best he can be.

Cookee

1.) 27 Oct 2022 02:00:20
I agree, Cookee. His performances scream raw ability and his pace, strength and desire are unquestionable. Once he feels settled and his English improves and he has a run of games he will be a top, top player.

2.) 27 Oct 2022 06:03:23
Nunez movement is great and his pace is unbelievable. His ability to get to 2nd balls in situations hen should never get too is a great weapon for us as it catches the opposition cold.

Last night was the story of his season so far though. Great great header after missing an open goal 20 mins earlier in the first half.

3.) 27 Oct 2022 06:54:57
I don't think he is a great finisher yet but the guy is full of raw energy. Hopefully he finds a little bit of composure and he will be flying. Needs to lay off the play acting tho.

4.) 27 Oct 2022 07:32:57
Bar the fact that he's still a bundle of nervous energy at the moment and his silly reaction to Anderson, he's been excellent so far. He's constantly on the move and battling away. His speed seems to deceive everyone.

5.) 27 Oct 2022 08:29:38
We were chatting on the live chat about him, his goals to minutes ratio is excellent and he's going to be a cracker.

6.) 27 Oct 2022 08:41:21
Totally agree Cookey - been saying it since he joined.
Also, i think the diamond might be a decent option on-going - gets Mo more central where he is far more dangerous.

7.) 27 Oct 2022 09:49:02
It’s feast or famine with Liverpool fan’s’ opinions on our own players.
Some good things, some weaker points.
Same as Elliott below.
I do like Nunez’ pace though, it’s a big asset.
As is his heading ability.

8.) 27 Oct 2022 09:49:02
Been saying it from jump, I ain't worried about this kid. The growing pains are bound to happen BUT it his talent and his raw CF ability is undeniable. He has near all the physical tools needed to be a top class CF and he is being coached by the manager who gave us arguable the best CF in Europe for past 15 yeas in Robert Lewandowski.

He'll score some. He'll miss some. That's the nature of the beast BUT the main thing is that he is a workaholic on the pitch, chases lost causes, lightening fast and great in the air. The rough edges will be polished off with time. Darwin will be fine.

9.) 27 Oct 2022 10:47:30
Whatever about him missing the chance, what on earth was Bobby doing passing?

10.) 27 Oct 2022 11:36:04
OMM, I'm with you there BUT Bobbie is who he is. He is so selfless on the itch (and even more off it) that it his instinct to facilitate others. I mean when the ball came to him, you had to have known he would pass to Darwin cos I wasn't surprised when he did.

A few years a go at Stoke, Mane chipped the GK and Bobbie was there to tap in a ball already going over the line. He literally made sure it went over the line so Sadio could get his goal. Bobbie is Bobbie.

Klopp did say that Darwin prolly missed cos Bobbie surprised both him and everyone in the stadium by passing the ball to Darwin, lol.

11.) 27 Oct 2022 11:53:11
I wouldn't worry about Nunez at all. I've heard him being labelled as a "dud" but even the best strikers have and always will miss chances even when it's easier to score. They will always get a chance to rectify it.

I don't buy into the lacking confidence either. He doesn't strike me as someone who lacks belief in his ability hence why he does sometimes take on the shot shot when an easier pass to someone available is on.

He's come into a team struggling for form and for whatever reason, lacking confidence. But that will also come good. This team is too good to be so inconsistent.
5 wins in last 6 games is a good foundation and last night was a good way to forget about the Forest game and move on to Leeds. Hopefully everyone is fine after last night and no new niggling injuries to key players. Roll on Saturday.

12.) 27 Oct 2022 13:11:15
What was Bobby doing passing? To give Nunez an open net maybe?

13.) 27 Oct 2022 13:38:38
More likely, IR judging by how unselfish Bobbie is.

14.) 27 Oct 2022 18:32:47
Don't disagree IR or OliRed. Just think he should have finished it himself, he's in decent form in front of goal this season. It wouldn't have entered Mo's mind to pass it from there.

15.) 27 Oct 2022 18:53:53
The reason Bobby passed it to Nunez, was that Nunez was in a better position to score. That's Bobby for you. Thiago has said that Bobby is the most unselfish player he has played with.

16.) 28 Oct 2022 11:38:18
I like that Bobby passed it. Unfortunate Nunez missed tho lol may act as a deterrent to others passing in similar positions because there is almost always someone else in a better position to score a tap in when one of our players has shot from an angle and missed the chance. I'd love us to have some more FIFA walk-in goals.

18 Oct 2022 09:22:25
Edd001 how did silva get away with soo much on Sunday whilst all the talk is on klopp losing his head at blatant karate on the pitch.

Cookee

{Ed001's Note - because City players always do. Fernandinho could have decapitated someone on the pitch and only got a talking to unless it was his 15th decapitation of the game. Then he would get a booking, if there was less than 5 minutes to play, otherwise it would be a talking to from the referee.}

1.) 18 Oct 2022 10:25:15
To be fair, Ed01, he did receive 53 yellow cards and 4 red. Some of his challenges were probably worthy of custodial sentences, but just thought I'd point out his record.

{Ed001's Note - that was because he would commit 53 yellow card-worthy offences in every game, as well as half as many red card offences. I would bet that most of those yellows were in the final 5 minutes, as refs would only give him one then as they knew they were safe from having to send him off and upset their overlords.}

2.) 18 Oct 2022 10:46:44
Fernandinho left me speechless with tackles many a time, only to be further flabbergasted by the referees doing nothing about it ?.

{Ed025's Note - he played on the very edge oraijo. But not to the extent of the great Graeme sourness mate. Who was a fabulous player by the way..

3.) 18 Oct 2022 10:52:37
Rome1977, he got 53 yellow cards cos the other 100 yellow card-worthy fouls were overlooked with or without even a talking to. And had that happened, the 4 red cards would have increased exponentially.

4.) 18 Oct 2022 12:06:05
Rodri has learned from the master, Fernandinho. It's shocking to watch what he gets away with game after game.

The new lower bar for tackling will enable more of it too.

However, grabbing shirts should be illegal, full-stop.

On a related note, what is more rare - Hen's teeth or Salah winning a freekick?

{Ed025's Note - maybe his past exploits when he was a serial cheat and habitual diver have caught up with him FPF? He’s a lot better now though mate.. ?

5.) 18 Oct 2022 12:29:56
Ed025 - serial cheat meaning he did it once and Klopp told him to never do it again, and he didn't? I look forward to seeing the Mo Salah cheat compilation.

{Ed025's Note - it’s 14 hours long mate.. ?

6.) 18 Oct 2022 12:59:34
hack:If you ever feel p. ed off about bernardo think abt grealish???shohld get a smile on your face pretty quickly.

7.) 18 Oct 2022 12:54:36
Ed25, Kane is everything you claim Salah to be and would still have gotten a foul for the WWE move Silva put on Salah. Thoughts?

{Ed025's Note - I actually agree about Kane oli. All of them should be brought to book mate. And that includes the officials..

8.) 18 Oct 2022 12:47:32
Ed025 - 14 hours? I better order some more rival fan tears before I start watching as I am running low. :)

{Ed025's Note - love it mate..

9.) 18 Oct 2022 14:32:43
It makes sense to me.
Salah cheated so the officials cheat him.
I don't think refs cheat;I just don't think they are very good.

10.) 18 Oct 2022 14:42:31
ED25, we all know that's not going to happen. Why? There are rules for Kane and those same rules don't apply to Salah. Sad but true.

{Ed025's Note - Harry does seem to get preferential oli. But he is England captain mate .. ?

11.) 18 Oct 2022 15:58:01
Nothing appears to touch Saint H Kane.

12.) 18 Oct 2022 15:44:37
Ed025 rumour going round that since Saturday Night at Tottenham you have been having "SPUDS" every night for ye Tea

(Sorry Bud first time to catch ye since Spuds)!

{Ed025's Note - we played like cabbages against the spuds bond and got ourselves in a right stew. We just didn’t turnup second half and when the chips were down we got roasted. We weren’t worth a carrot mate.. ?

13.) 18 Oct 2022 16:05:10
Ed0025 in fairness Kane almost won a Euros and World Cup with England. And in this day and age almost winning something is the same as winning it ??‍♂️.

{Ed025's Note - you make a good point JK.. ?

14.) 18 Oct 2022 16:09:26
Grealish is the most fouled player in the league- only because a foul is given every time he throws himself to the floor when someone’s leg brushes his shorts. Salah is the most fouled player in the league, but doesn’t get the free kicks given.
It is part of Pep’s tactics to have his holding midfielder (Fernandinho and now Rodri) to make the tactical foul to break up play. Fernandinho was better at it, as he usually faked a fall himself to make it look like an accident. Having a holding midfielder prepared to make the tactical foul is essential in Pep’s system, as they are often caught with many men forward on the rare occasion the move breaks down.

10 Oct 2022 19:02:25
I hope klopp makes big changes. Somethings wrong with how we usually play. Watched the game again and I knew our pressing game had regressed recently but I thought it was something to do with players fitness or even age now. If any fan watches that again minus the emotion, we've stopped pressing significantly to what we did at our best.
To play a high line and give players 3/ 4 yards with the ball add to that the likes of virg who stands back constantly now, my god what is actually happening. I just refuse to believes players are lazy or even not the same players . This to me Is tactics . Even a loss of confidence wouldn't cause this IMO. I back klopp 1 million percent but he has to change this somehow or if lindrs is behind this.

Cookee

1.) 10 Oct 2022 19:56:15
Tactics are a problem but klopp can’t just say “go back to how we used to play” and it’ll fix it. This team gave everything last season and came up short they don’t have it in them to go again physically or mentally. It’s a shame but the club can’t stop and wait players needed to be sold and replaced. Klopp isn’t ruthless enough. I genuinely think next season Klopp would be happy with a Trent Matip VVD Robertson back 4 with Fabinho Elliott Jones in front of them.

2.) 10 Oct 2022 20:09:02
If they're all playing well enough why wouldn't he be happy with that?

3.) 10 Oct 2022 20:48:56
Klopp can’t change too much, we have what we’ve got.
We could certainly do with a break with all the injuries though, I think over the past few seasons we’re the team that’s lost most player minutes through injuries.

4.) 10 Oct 2022 20:54:59
When Diaz comes back in January it’ll be like a new signing so we don’t need Sign anyone ?.

5.) 10 Oct 2022 21:13:43
Depends what “well enough” is if it’s a top 4 fight sure we might get away with. These days its 90+ points for a title and if we’re not around the 90 point mark then it’s not well enough imo and there isn’t the quality there to achieve that we need to be ruthless and make changes.

6.) 11 Oct 2022 08:39:15
What makes you think Diaz will come back if we're not in the CL places, LiverpoolFC8? ?.

7.) 11 Oct 2022 08:50:12
Juicer, it doesn’t help that we have a lot of injury prone midfielders, as soon as Keita and Ox we’re declared fit in the summer, they should have been wrapped up in cotton wool and moved on.

8.) 11 Oct 2022 09:19:09
@Juicer

For a starter, Klopp can change Salah’s position and role. Even a blind man could see that Salah offers next to nothing playing a byline winger. That is not his game. If he is compelled by Linders then he should get the booting straight away for even thinking this change.

9.) 11 Oct 2022 19:22:12
‘Came up short’ last season is a bit harsh OP. Yeah we missed the big two we wanted but we played incredibly well to get there, something no other team has ever done in the modern era. Of all the games we played if 105 minutes of football had gone slightly differently we would have swept the board. I think Klopp is well within his rights to tell professional athletes to perform how they did last year, but I do agree that if they cannot anymore they should be replaced. The system takes precedent and all that.

{Ed025's Note - and if my aunti had balls she would be my uncle mate.. :)

09 Oct 2022 21:18:33
Klopp seeking bellingham plus carvalho and nunez, he knows what needs to be done. he's
aware of age and legs so fans need not panic on that end. Add elliot konate and ramsay. He's restarting it all but I like many fans or him never expected such poor form from our most important players or our midfield to lose their legs as fast.
Klopp will either learn and grow into an even better manager or if the season truly falls into misery he could walk. He hasn't been ruthless in moving on players or even dropping the 'superstars ' when in dire form. May be time to start.

Cookee

1.) 09 Oct 2022 21:44:10
Bellingham will not be coming to Liverpool mate. For a start top 4 is a long way of, no CL football next season will seriously sent any transfers. And secondly take in to consideration fee, signing on fee, agents fees etc its a package way north of 150 million. FSG do not want to spend that. Its always been seel to buy .

2.) 09 Oct 2022 22:28:29
Bellingham isn’t going to a team finishing outside the Champions League places. We look nowhere near good enough, he’s Madrid or City bound. We won’t be in the conversation.

3.) 09 Oct 2022 22:30:33
We've had champions league football every season for 6 seasons and we've been in 3 out of last 5 finals and we never seem to have money to buy. arsenal haven't been it in I can't remember when and they continually outspend us, utd spent fortune this summer Again with no champ league and it's years since they had decent run in it. Neither club is state backed. So not going to get carried away with all this talk of top4 essential to buy, we will have approx 20m + sales same as every other summer.

4.) 09 Oct 2022 22:50:09
Digger. We don’t have the financial muscle of Man United for starters regardless if they were in the Europa Conference Cup let alone the Europa Cup. We also spend on projected future earnings, which is our business model. That saw some ‘smaller teams’ fair far better than us when the C.V. hit. Man United is probably the worst team to bring up in this comparison btw. No top 4 will be catastrophic for our ambitions. You honestly think class players will come to us when they have big clubs in Champions League willing to match or exceed the wages we would offer?

5.) 09 Oct 2022 23:40:38
If Bellingham doesn't want to come, I don't want him to come.
Let him go to Madrid, City or Chelsea and we'll have someone that wants to play for Liverpool.
If he goes to Madrid, I'd take Valverde off their hands, please.

6.) 10 Oct 2022 07:18:06
Rigsby, Valverde isn’t going to want to join a team not in the champions league either. And there’s no way we’d be able to afford him without the champions league prize money.

7.) 10 Oct 2022 07:20:58
Alonso. My point is we've been in the champ league consistently and got to latter stages all the time and we've never once had a transfer window that we bought 3/ 4 players that ready to start. Summer 21 we needed to go big and didn't. As for C.V. it hit all teams, and owners could take almost 40m back to themselves to pay back a loan. Arsenal where top spenders that summer.

Edd002 how much are RBL seeking for laimar?

Cookee

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware they have put a price on him per se. Much will depend on the contract situatuin and a desire to move to Bayern Munich. It would not be huge because of that but they would not want a cheap sale.}

Afternoon edd002, I was just wondering is any club pushing through a move for sangare. I know clubs are interested but is anyone actually in negotiations. Thanks soo much.

Cookee

{Ed002's Note - Ibrahim Sangare (DM) Newcastle are keen on the player and the interest of both Leicester and Southampton remains. The player has said that he does not wish to return to France and wants a move to England, but perhaps not this summer. Has been watched by a number of other PL sides including Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea who sent an ex-player to take a look at him with two scouts. An approach from Aston Villa has been rehected. PSV have no intention of selling and will work hard to avoid a sale.}

Edd001 you're down playing robbo though by mentioning trent as a comparison. Different type of players. Robbo is up there as one of of best left backs in the world in form. He's always forgotten by even most liverpool fans . He's a weapon for us when he's on fire.

Cookee

{Ed001's Note - I wasn't downplaying Robbo at all, it was someone else using Robbo as an attack on Trent. I was just pointing out why he has the most assists. I don't know why I bother, always someone along to twist my words.}

Ed025 don't be soo naive as to if it matters who buys the club and having some moral righteousness. What difference do you think it makes LOL. do they have to have the same politics as you to be the right owners? You think many fans are happy having far left Marxism down their neck now that's enforced? Quatar/ Iran etc. I believe like many that the UK and US are far worse than those countries. They've done far worse, over throwing governments, funding bankers wars, millions of Iraqis dead but I mean it was for "freedom "right. Honestly laughable.

Cookee

{Ed025's Note - whether or not it matters is down to personal conscience I suppose cookie. If you believe that human rights don’t matter then I suppose it’s fine mate…. Personally I don’t..

Edd001 what's your opinion on gary neville? To me he trys to present himself as the morally just chosen one on sky sports. Leans very much into the modern far left stuff which is fine. Everyone has their beliefs but I definitely think he's a lot more calculated than viewers give him credit for. For me it's all about the cheque.

Cookee

{Ed001's Note - because there is no press and a lack of organisation at the back instead. If you aren't going to press, then you need to be organised to close off spaces and track runs, but we have no organisation at all. It is a shambles.}
