Mention of Adam Hlozek today, any interest Eds? Could be homegrown if he came this summer. Good Origi replacement I think. His name hasn’t come up but I seen myself that Omer Beyaz is out of contract at Fenerbache in the summer do you think we’d be after him? Not sure exactly how signing a 17 year old out of contract foreign player goes.

DavidK

{Ed002's Note - Adam Hlozek (S) has been scouted by RBL, Dortmund, Arsenal and others but has a desire to move to West Ham where Soucek, who he shares an agent with, plays. There is zero chance of Omer Beyaz joining Liverpool, he is going elsewhere.}

1.) 23 Apr 2021 10:57:30
Beyaz has already been signed by VfB Stuttgart.

Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic said about two weeks ago he really likes Liverpool and that the club is special to him. 13 open play goals in 15 starts in the Bundesliga and got 2 tonight vs Scotland. Turning 24 this summer. Have we ever had any interest for him to name drop us or maybe he's just a supporter. He's 6 foot 7 imagine Trent and Robertson crossing into him. Salah/ Mane/ Jota were good at linking up with big strikers in Dzeko/ Pelle/ Jimenez before we signed them. He wouldn't expect to come in as a starter so could be a good Origi replacement, then next summer with more money and a better market for strikers we could move on and replace Firmino.

DavidK

1.) 26 Mar 2021 11:38:05
Well you see I don't tnk klopp or owners will be fine with short term fixes. we nly got cb after so many got out at the deadline day. so I doubt we will go for someone if he doesn't fit our system. i Haven't seen him so I don't know about it. if he fits we may go probably.

2.) 26 Mar 2021 15:29:07
I reckon he would fit in well, for a big lad he’s got very good vision and skill, he’s more a mix between a number 9 and a number 10, he’s good in the air, has very good awareness of what’s going on around him, looks to play in others and can score goals, physically strong as an ox too. Maybe he’s not the quickest, but he’s certainly at least as quick if not a bit quicker than Firmino and he’s got good ball control and quick feet. If we went for him or Alexander Isak I’d say that would be smart buying. Given that we’re never going to sign Haaland or Mbappe or anyone of that level, we need to be looking at who can get to that next level,

3.) 26 Mar 2021 21:12:46
Wish people would fook off with the let’s get rid of Bobby shouts. I watched him covering Trent making tackles at right back obviously he not going to score from there but if you guys want to swap him for a goal hanger who am I to argue with stats🤷‍♀️.

4.) 26 Mar 2021 22:40:10
John, he’s not getting any younger, he’ll be 30 this year and the evidence is that he is on the decline. At the end of the day players are just employees, employees need replacing when they become less effective. Fact of life.

5.) 29 Mar 2021 09:43:36
Khoubaly is not an FSG signing. A significant transfer fee 30 years of age no sell on value. Thiago was an exception an outlier if you will and only because negotiated a lowing transfer fee and offered something very different.
I think Konate is much more of a FSG signing young huge potential to improve and potential large sell on value i years to come. The biggest negative I see is his injury record. It’s poor to say the least.
The Athletics David Ornston reporting Liveroool are seriously considering him.

15 Feb 2021 18:49:37
Ornstein says us and Spurs are looking at Ezri Konsa from Villa as an option for the summer. Top player, strong, quick, good in the air, young and home grown but can’t see Villa selling for less than 40m is he the best in that price range I’m not sure but he’d be a very good signing.

1.) 15 Feb 2021 22:45:52
Long time reader 1st time poster can't understand how nobody has mentioned buying Grelish holds the up makes plenty of opportunities and scores goals . can open up defenses and great to watch. just what we need?

2.) 16 Feb 2021 07:17:23
Grealish will be well beyond our means unless Mane or Salah were sold. Think about his reputation, his importance to Villa, his actual ability, and his marketability when he inevitably becomes Englands poster boy. That right there is a £100-150m transfer.

3.) 16 Feb 2021 08:48:13
Wouldn't mind Konsa one bit but the price will be through the roof. I think its either Botman, Kabak or Konate we sign this summer.
And no thanks to Grealish. I want Neto or Moussa Diaby for the LW position if Mane leaves.

4.) 16 Feb 2021 14:17:23
I would never be keen on Liverpool forking out £100 million plus on a player such as Grealish. Liverpool have done great business on the likes of Salah and Mane. I'm hoping if one of them go they could do the same.

5.) 16 Feb 2021 15:51:24
@Indian Buzzer

With Upamecano leaving Leipzig for Bayern in the summer, I doubt they would be willing to let another CB in Konate go.

6.) 22 Feb 2021 08:44:15
No way would I have Grealish over Mane, not in a million years and not at that price.

21 Dec 2020 23:10:37
He Eds, If Origi were to leave do you think another striker would be brought in? I'd imagine someone young could come in as cover. I remember you saying Jade-Jones was highly rated, Arsenal's Balogun's contract expires this summer too or could it maybe open the door for Layton Stewart?

DavidK

{Ed002's Note - It should open the door for Layton Stewart David - he has been very impressive I understand. Ricky-Jade Jones has been of interest to Liverpool and had an ankle injury at the start of the season - I am not sure why he has not been playing recently. Arsenal want Folarin Balogun to agree a new contract but he has an agent (using the word agent in the broadest of terms) who has been asking other sides if they would be interested in him - none of these sides are in England.}

1.) 22 Dec 2020 11:33:35
I really like Stewart, I never like the idea of putting pressure on expectations but he does seem to be very good!

We have him and Glatzel in the ranks who should be given an opportunity rather than just buying more youth players.

2.) 22 Dec 2020 16:32:48
Yes I would love that too happen the kid is mustard, few others in u18s who look promising, james balagazi, Leyton stewart, fraundorph the new German signing looks great . Brilliant that youngsters getting a chance.

15 Oct 2020 23:38:21
Did United ever sign Filip Stevanovic? With Wilson/ Woodburn/ Origi/ Shaqiri etc all out of favour he could be a very good signing for us as a player that could cover up front but potential to make one of the the positions his own, could eventually be registered as home grown too I think if he's signed in January/ Summer.

DavidK

{Ed002's Note - There were three offers - none were the right deal.}

1.) 16 Oct 2020 17:53:40
Hope we look at him in the future, top talent!

I think a 3 at the back could suit us next season at times. Gomez/ Konate/ VVD then Matip/ Phillips/ Davies and the kids as cover. Robbo/ Kostas on the left and Trent/ Ox on the right. His best games for Arsenal came there would allow Neco to get a loan move too. 2 of Henderson/ Fabinho/ Thiago/ Milner/ Keita (i’d get rid) and one more in midfield. Salah, Mane, Jota and one more as the strikers then Jones, Elliott or Firmino as a 10. Jones and Elliott i think need to be in the final 3rd.

DavidK

1.) 19 Jun 2021 21:25:18
Not sure Klopp would go with 3 at the back, it was one of the first things he said when taking over, he would go 4 and not the 3.

2.) 19 Jun 2021 21:42:23
3 at the back is simply one of the worst ideas I have heard.

Is that you, Gareth? Is DavidK a pseudonym?

3.) 19 Jun 2021 21:58:47
We can’t even get 2 cbs fit never mind 3. I think there is very little chance of us playing a back 3 next season.

4.) 19 Jun 2021 23:34:59
Is that a 5-4-3 formation? We should definitely do that.

5.) 20 Jun 2021 00:14:20
The champions of Europe use 3 at the back it can’t be that bad. Atletico and Inter won the league using it without being favourites. Germany were fantastic with it vs Portugal. I’d like to see something different either the shape 4231 or 343 or a new starting striker. Surely we won’t go 433 Salah-Firmino-Mane for the 50th season in a row. Needs freshening up. Was clear last season.

6.) 20 Jun 2021 00:24:52
We have played a fluid system the last few seasons where at times it does appear we have 3 at the back, fabs dropping deep and splitting the centre halves giving the wing backs the opportunity to move further forward.

I'd imagine we will continue to play in a flexible system next season, maybe the only change will be instead of fabinho bringing the ball out of defence it will be konate and can dijk. allowing us to play an extra attacking midfielder (Thiago in a 10 role I'm thinking) .

7.) 20 Jun 2021 06:41:41
Mark, are you ever positive or are you negative Walter? Lol constantly negative. Not a personal slight but it can be a little tiresome mate.

8.) 20 Jun 2021 07:30:57
If fit Joe would would work really well in a back three. Providing no one leaves our front line of mane, jota, Salah, Bobby and young Harvey is good enough. Probably need an am. Beundia would have suited us, Villa got a good player there.

9.) 20 Jun 2021 08:38:04
Alrite Marty, I like to contribute on the threads where I disagree, it promotes debate. I don’t see the point just agreeing on the other threads.

If we sign a top midfielder I think we will win the PL and make at least the CL semifinals. Is that sound Marty 🥳.

10.) 20 Jun 2021 09:13:19
That's better Mark! As I said, just some positive words now and again make the world seem brighter. I'm all for debate though mate. Have a good Sunday and happy fathers day to all x.

11.) 20 Jun 2021 09:21:59
All the best Marty and happy Father’s Day to one and all.

12.) 20 Jun 2021 14:17:00
OP, we have issues having CB’s fit already so how would a back 3 work. Also, we don’t even have the personnel to play a back, IMO so to me, it’s a nonstarter.

13.) 20 Jun 2021 14:20:38
In a team that dominates the ball so much, playing 3 at the back weakens you in attack. It’s fine if you want to invite pressure and mount counter attacks, but Klopp likes us to be more proactive. 3 midfielders is our 3 at the back.

Win from the front and counter attack higher up the pitch. It’s done us well so far. Last season was an anomaly, not the norm so get the right Gini replacement, get VVD, Gomez back and that’ll see us much better off than any major overhaul of tactics and formation.

14.) 20 Jun 2021 17:00:10
Spot on, Quo Vadis ( great movie, btw) . I think we don’t even have the correct personable either. Take our fullbacks. I think Robbo could play in a back three as he does for Scotland. Not sure Trent can do the same cos he does his damage from deep and our system allows him to slide m into midfield and orchestrate from there when we are on the front foot. That would be gone in a back 3. Also, not sure he has the athleticism to go up and down the flank, either IMO. A hard no for me, as well.

08 Jun 2021 10:15:30
Lukas Nmecha won the golden boot as Germany won the u21 euros off the back of an 18 goal season in Belgium. Doubt he’s in City’s plans could be a good HG Origi replacement but not seen much outside a few games this tournament. Looked very good.

DavidK

1.) 08 Jun 2021 16:00:19
Couldn’t hit a barn door in the championship, he’s currently way below our level.

2.) 08 Jun 2021 16:24:56
OP, we are trying to win the league, bro. We need much better players than this lad. Also, this guy is no Origi replacement. Origi may not have pulled any trees this season BUT he is not a championship player or Belgian first Division player, IMO. He has proven to be a much better player than that.

3.) 08 Jun 2021 17:36:36
Liverpool v Sion eufa Cup. I was right behind the goal john Barnes scored. A thing of beauty.

4.) 08 Jun 2021 17:56:00
Unfortunately Divocks proved over the last few seasons that them leagues you mentioned ARE his level. Think Divock would struggle to get into ANY Premier League side. And this is from someone who was so excited when we signed him all those tears ago.

5.) 09 Jun 2021 12:49:03
Trust me i wish we had Chelsea/ City type ambition to go into the race for players like Kane/ Haaland but we don’t. Maybe Nmecha isn’t great never seen him outside of this tournament where he looked good but are players like Daka or Malen going to win us titles either?

05 Jun 2021 22:26:12
I’d be disappointed if we made no move for Sancho and a rival got him. Good enough to start, home grown and not long turned 21. Could be here for a decade. Even if it meant cashing in on Mane I would. He’d be expensive sure but good players are. We had one league cup in 10 years until we broke all kinds of transfer records for a CB GK and a DM and won a CL and PL because of it.

DavidK

1.) 06 Jun 2021 01:57:41
I for one do not want Sancho. Not doubting his ability or anything but I like that in the main, with a few exceptions, we would rather polish a rough diamond than get an expensive player. The reality is, we are not owned by bottomless pit owners so we have to deal in the next rung down the ladder, and in the main, with a few exceptions (Keita) we have done exceptionally well. Therefore I will leave it to the manager and other staff involved and let them decide who the best player we can get for the money available and support no matter what. We all want Mbappe, Haarland etc but we do not buy in that bracket, we have to hope our scouting staff have seen enough on the other players that can be improved, so let's just support whoever they bring in, because let's face it, not many was over the moon to get Robertson when we got him and look how that has faired.

{Ed0666's Note - Post of the day Grinch. A poundland hamper is on its way to you.

2.) 06 Jun 2021 02:00:50
Is Sancho really all that?

{Ed0666's Note - I just texted Eds 001 exactly the same thing. Get out of my head Barry!

3.) 06 Jun 2021 03:52:14
I mean, he’s better than raphina, and a lot of people are somehow very excited by the prospect of getting him. If we are looking at it from the perspective of raphina would apparently be a replacement for salah (which is crazy if you ask me), I know who I would prefer to come in if we were to lose one of salah or mane. I know in terms of the fee, there’s a huge disparity, but for me there’s a big disparity in quality as well.

{Ed001's Note - in what way is Sancho better than Raphinha? I have seen nothing about him that makes him anywhere near as good as Raphinha. Sancho is ridiculously overrated for a player that can only make an impression if he comes on as a late sub against tired legs.}

4.) 06 Jun 2021 03:05:28
Why Ed0666 there's loads of room in here😃.

{Ed0666's Note - That’s because you’re wife and her sister just left mate 😂

5.) 06 Jun 2021 04:50:51
You two need to get a room.

{Ed001's Note - they did that and paid by the minute, only cost them 2 minutes and that was with them both having a shower and shave afterwards.}

6.) 06 Jun 2021 05:36:38
Lol, eww, what a thought first thing in the morning. 🤭.

7.) 06 Jun 2021 07:10:22
Your talking silly again Ed001 it was 3 minutes.

{Ed001's Note - stop boasting Bazza, we all know I was exaggerating and it was actually 1.}

8.) 06 Jun 2021 08:18:06
Lads thus sounds like the crying game.

9.) 06 Jun 2021 08:38:10
Grinch this “we make stars not buy them” philosophy has resulted in one league title in 30 years, it doesn’t work. There seems to be this myth that Robertson was a nobody when he signed, outside of Rose and Bertrand he was the best left back in the league at the time.

10.) 06 Jun 2021 09:06:36
If we had the money for sancho (which we don’t) I would rather buy a few players like Saul plus Raphinha.

{Ed077's Note - do you know how much Saul's current salary is at Atleti?
€300k a week. I think it's a bit too much to say that you could afford Saul plus Raphinha with the "Sancho money"

11.) 06 Jun 2021 09:16:09
Absolute nonsense davidK, Andy had a good cross on him, but he was suspect defensively when he was with Hull. Even when he broke through with us, he was still weak at closing crosses down. Its true, we generally don't operate at the top table as far as transfer fees go, excluding a couple of recent transfers in key positions (Ali and Virg) .

12.) 06 Jun 2021 09:17:51
Not sure I get all the hype over Sancho either tbh and remember only way him or Raphinha arrives is as a Salah or Mane replacement as Ed002 keeps advising us. We need to sell to buy which is fair enough after the C.V. we’ve had. I did ask were the Konate money come from but it didn’t get posted.

13.) 06 Jun 2021 09:55:54
Trent is suspect defensively for us yet he’s still the best in the league in his position. Robertson wasn’t as good as he is now at Hull obviously but he was at worst a top 5 left back in the league. Look at his performances vs us at the KC or at Old Trafford/ Emirates. He was good for Dundee United had 2 good PL seasons under his belt, playing well for his country. We hardly plucked him from non league.

14.) 06 Jun 2021 10:13:04
“he’s better than raphina”

For context (according to whoscored), Raphina scored 6 in the league and Sancho scored 8, Raphinha set up 9 and Sancho 11, Raphinha arguably did that in a slightly tougher league. Not a lot in it if you ask me.

15.) 06 Jun 2021 10:41:22
A slightly tougher league, am sorry the bundesliga defending is terrible atm. The mid table prem league sides would easily beat the mid table German sides.

16.) 06 Jun 2021 10:45:28
I think Sancho is a good player myself, plus he’s young and English. But yeah ridiculously over hyped and priced.
I would probably have him at LFC if we could get him for a reasonable price, but as we can’t I’m glad he’s going to United to waste their transfer budget.

17.) 06 Jun 2021 10:45:49
Sancho is a better player than Raphina in my eyes. He’s hit double figures as a baby the past few years for both goals and assists. He is going to be a monster. I personally think he should be starting every game for England. The way he glides with the ball and his passing through tight areas are incredible.

18.) 06 Jun 2021 10:59:11
Sancho is a year older than Jones. Yet posts on here suggest Jones who bar a handful of games like Spurs and Leipzig was very very average is apparently this great player and Sancho isn’t?

19.) 06 Jun 2021 12:23:25
I mean statistically sancho performed much better than raphina ever has since he’s come to Europe in all competitions. Sancho is 21 and has had 3 good seasons with Dortmund whereas raphina is 24 and had an ok season at Leeds and a few average season at sporting Lisbon and Rennes, which let’s face it, are far poorer than the bundesliga, since people are adamant on comparing the quality of the leagues. I don’t see where all the hype comes for raphina. I understand sancho might be overrated but that doesn’t mean he’s not better than raphina, I’ve watched both play a decent number of times and it’s clear sancho is the better player. Of course the disparity in how much each would cost and if that’s worth it is down to opinion and I think they are both over priced, even in today’s market. Raphina would be good back up to the usual front 3, I’m not doubting that at all, but if we are assuming one of these players are to be a replacement for mane or salah, sancho would be my pick out of the two. But I wouldn’t target either as a salah replacement personally.

20.) 06 Jun 2021 13:43:36
OP, If we are not in for Sancho, does that not mean that Klopp and his mad guru’s have scouted him long enuff to know he is not what we need nor is not worth the money? Just asking.

Frankly, Sancho is being quoted such fees cos he is English and there is an English “tax” that comes with that as well as extra media hype regardless of his true ability. He is a very talented player but ain’t worth all the money, IMO. As for Raphinha IMO, he is the real deal and would be perfect for us. Not sure Sancho would be.

21.) 06 Jun 2021 14:22:48
Premier league defending only seems better because these days 90% of the managers in the league set their teams up with parked buses, some of them 2 buses. Premier league football used to be easily the most exciting league to watch in the world. This season it was mostly play acting, 11 men behind the ball and the ref blowing his whistle every 30-120 seconds. I dread to think when Klopp goes and who will come in. Hopefully it’s more about entertainment than it is setting up for results or not to lose.

22.) 06 Jun 2021 14:40:48
Spot on, JK23. I fully agree with your post. In the Bundesliga, they very rarely park the bus except away from home where the lesser teams try not to get ripped by the Bayern’s and Dortmund’s of the world.

In the end, the Bundesliga is pretty wide open in terms of play hence, it seems they cannot defend even tho, there is some truth to that. Whereas in the PL it looks more defensive cos majority of teams apart from the Big 6, Leicester, Brighton and Leeds, are in survival mode hence, the parked buses we are inflicted with for the most part.

23.) 06 Jun 2021 14:45:29
Davey I agree, I personally don’t want Sancho but he’s leagues ahead of jones imo.

03 Jun 2021 07:27:47
Hopefully Trents injury isn’t bad but you’d imagine he won’t make the euros now anyway. Not arsed about England but feel for Trent himself. We could do with brining in another experienced right back to rest Trent the odd game (played every game since coming back from injury in december) without having to shoehorn Milner or Gomez in there when so much of our play goes through full backs. Williams needs a loan or realistically if he ever wants to start games probably have to move on. I think Bradley looks good but again nowhere near ready. Hysaj from Napoli is available on a free.

DavidK

1.) 03 Jun 2021 07:53:35
Stick with Williams, showing plenty of potential. If we hadve just spent money on needless squad players instead of sticking by Trent when he was struggling a couple of years ago we wouldn't have the best rightback in the world now.

{Ed001's Note - and Konate and Milner can provide cover. Gomez too when he returns to fitness.}

2.) 03 Jun 2021 08:55:42
I feel for Trent. I felt last night all eyes were on him waiting for him to make a mistake so all the 'experts' could say "see, he's rubbish" when he is clearly the best RB in the PL and right up there globally. He then gets injured and will likely miss the tournament. Also, I don't agree with the comments saying it's a good thing. This is a young lad who's probably dreamy of representing his country at a major tournament since he was a kid and is likely devastated by what's happened and that, added with all the additional selection pressure, has probably had a huge effect on him mentally.
I hope he takes the time to rest not just his body, but also his mind, he's earned it.

3.) 03 Jun 2021 09:03:43
I really don't get why people don't trust Neco.

4.) 03 Jun 2021 09:05:50
I think Neco is a good enough back up his only just turned 20, He just needs to start putting the ball in earlier he seems to take a touch when it is not needed. Surely his red card from last night will be cancelled and hopefully he gets a good run with Wales and they get through the groups.

5.) 03 Jun 2021 09:08:33
It’s not I don’t trust Neco - I think he has lots of potential. It’s just Trent is arguably our most important player creativity wise so if he’s out for a long period of time to drop off to Neco would have a massive impact on the team and we would more than likely have to change the way we play.

6.) 03 Jun 2021 09:21:39
Nope. You have to stick with the backup and go through it until he proves he's not got enough or won't make it. Otherwise, what's the point of appointing players as token names on the bench during games? Williams has to be given his chance. Just like Tsimikas or any other backup.

7.) 03 Jun 2021 11:32:45
Well yeah joshkel91 you’ve kind of answered your own question. Trent is irreplaceable so why bother spending money on a player who also isn’t as good as him, particularly if we do trust Neco to step up as you say. It’s futile, wasteful and wishful and thus solutions must be found from within the squad.

8.) 03 Jun 2021 12:10:37
Yep AW, totally understand your point. Could definitely be viewed as a waste of money although if we bought in a quality RB to cover you could argue they would get about 20 games a season in cups etc and give Trent a rest when needed. Possibly more if he sustained an injury.

Would also give Trent a chance to play a few games in midfield which I would love to see him to. Think he could play the Hendo role quite easily but also would add a lot more goals from midfield. Would love him to get more shooting opportunities in similar positions like vs West Ham.

All however boils down to how good the club think Neco is. If he is going to be trusted for 15 - 20 games a season then great but if not then I think send him out on loan to get experience and decide on him at a later date.
No point him sitting on the bench like Tsimi all season even though he’s available.

9.) 03 Jun 2021 16:43:40
Neco might turn out alright, but he won’t without games, and he’s not going to get them here, when he has gotten them I don’t think he’s even looked great but that’s the thing you can’t expect a young player to come in for the odd game and look good he’d need a run that he won’t get. Trent was awful around Christmas and still played like every game. If Trent was like 32 sure he could slowly take over, but I don’t think 2 young right backs will work it’s not like midfield you can rotate each game. If we loan him out we’ve no proper cover. Good offer comes in i’d take it like we did with Hoever/ Brewster last summer.

27 May 2021 01:47:28
Im going to throw a name out, it won’t happen but interested in thoughts. Shaqiri leaves then ideally we need a a replacement who who’s premier league proven, happy not to play every game but is good enough to be relied upon and can make a difference off the bench, won’t get in the way of Elliott, serial winner and homegrown as a bonus.

Gareth Bale

Wages would be the big problem but i think for 2 years while Elliott gets another loan or they share the spot he’d be brilliant. Scored more than all our players bar Salah and hardy played himself. He’s been one of my favourite players for a decade I’ve always dreamed of having him for us, he’s not what he was but clearly still a top player.

WILL get in the way of Elliott. Elliott is ready to come back now to replace Shaqiri so why stick a 32 year old in the way of him?

How do you think we can afford £500,000/ 600,000 or whatever ridiculous amount in wages it is when our next earner is on no more than £200,000? Also don't you think that we be catastrophic for team morale to have such a massive difference for some newcomer?

A serial winner? Someone who was happy to sit on Real's bench for so long as he was collecting his wages. Winners don't get preoccupied with golf as much as him. Instead they spend their spare time on the training ground and in the gym, making those marginal improvements to get to the very best. His attitude absolutely stinks. He is not a team player and is very immature for his age. There is no way Klopp would want someone like that around.

It's an absolute non-starter.

2.) 27 May 2021 02:00:34
Why would you want a player who hates the club, the fans and the city?

3.) 27 May 2021 02:17:16
God no. I can’t think of a worse fit. You do realise that Bale’s idea of working hard is playing the full 18 holes instead of 9? Appalling professional who blows hot and old on the pitch and is rarely fit. Surely April 1st has come and gone?

4.) 27 May 2021 03:39:55
I’ll take that as a no then. I still think we need an extra forward assuming Origi, Wilson, Shaq and Minamino all leave and that’s with Elliott staying. Whatever you think about Bale you can’t deny he’s a serial winner. He’s probably won more than our club in the last 30 years and scored plenty of huge goals. The wages would always big the biggest problem for me he’d need a huge pay cut. Was never going to happen anyway. I’d be lying if i said i think the likes of Malen, Vlahovic or Daka strike me as the level we need one bit. Put it this way Aguero is leaving and there’s no suggestion City want any of them. If Sancho is available I’d go for him as a long term Mane replacement and let Salah play through the middle. I reckon summer 2022 we could see Mane and Firmino leave.

{Ed001's Note - how is that Bale being a serial winner and not that Bale plays for Real Madrid who win things despite having a lazy golfer on the staff who occasionally turns up for a game of football?}

5.) 27 May 2021 05:00:50
The club that gives Bale his next contract will be absolute idiots because he has been lazy and disinterested for years and it’s only going to get worse.

6.) 27 May 2021 05:13:10
Real Madrid hadn’t won a CL in 12 year until Bale showed up. Then won 4 in 5 years with him scoring winners in 2 (that first goal vs us is the best i’ve ever seen us concede) and setting up their only goal in another then scoring in the shootout. They had 1 Spanish cup in 21 years until Bale showed up and scored that winner in the final vs Barca. He won 2 league titles too. He set up the goal to win their first super cup in 12 years. 2 years later set up a winner in the super cup again. Scored in the semi and the final of their first ever Club world cup win and scored 4 more as they won 3 more. Prime Bale is right up there with the best British players of all time. The man won a trophy with Tottenham, that might be his best achievement of the lot!

{Ed001's Note - you do realise it is a team game and that Bale did not win anything on his own? No matter how ludicrous the stats are that you are reaching for. All they show is that investing huge amounts of money eventually paid off.}

7.) 27 May 2021 05:50:29
Bale would be a disaster (even if he didn’t hate the club) . His work ethic is the exact opposite of everything this club represents, and would completely undermine the message we send through the leadership group of Hendo, Milner etc…. let Elliot come in and learn his trade under Mane, Jota, Firmino and Salah, just like Man City did with Foden.

We could also do with one more forward IMO to replace Origi, but again an up and coming player would make more sense than another older player at the end of their career like Bale.

8.) 27 May 2021 06:35:10
One of the best British players of all time? That's the funniest thing I have read on these pages, and it's the end of the month and I've read a lot thus far. That's a slap on the face of every British player who put in time and hard effort to grind out his play on the field for sometimes 10% of Bale's pay. Absolutely ludicrous. Talent? Yes, you can argue that. Getting it done. Absolutely nowhere.

9.) 27 May 2021 06:45:53
Bale hates the club and fans and has openly said so, so that’s a 1st no. He is lazy and disinterested in the game in general so that 2 no’s. He is injured for large chunks of every season which would be unacceptable on the wages he would demand so that’s 3 no’s. For the above reasons he wouldn’t be worth a spot on the bench, wouldn’t be worth displacing any of the current front 4 (despite a drop in form from some of them) so that’s 4 and 5 no’s. On pure talent alone if he was top of his game and consistently available, yes of course, but it just doesn’t stack up.

10.) 27 May 2021 07:07:44
31, injury prone, huge wage demands, lost his pace, hates the club and supporters? No thanks.

{Ed014's Note - Gareth Bale!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

11.) 27 May 2021 07:38:24
Id have him for our new liverpool golf team.

12.) 27 May 2021 09:46:13
a more realistic dream would be going back in time to sign gareth bale to liverpool academy as a 6 year old and change the course of history.

13.) 27 May 2021 09:52:00
I'd rather have Bellamy and Riise for the golf team😉😃.

14.) 27 May 2021 12:05:23
OP, Bale hates the club and it's fans which actually include you. What other thoughts or opinions are you looking for?

Typo on my behalf. Really not that deep but looks suspicious alright. The tinfoil hats can come off.

Because he thinks Harrison is better than Wilson? Not every player we have is world class.

Firmino at his best was an incredible player but that best only lasted a little while and he’s been extremely average the last two seasons, but most of his goals do seem to come in important games. A striker to play with Salah and Mane and a midfielder to play with Thiago and Fabinho because of Henderson being injury prone should been the bare minimum if we have any interest in winning the league and CL. Retaining the net spend cup seems to be more important.

6 goals and 9 assists being 15 goal contributions is joint 10th most in the league. A good return but he had joint 5th most big chances created and 6th for key passes per game Bamford also had the most ‘big chances missed’ so those number can definitely go up especially in a better team. Raphinha on the right with Salah up top sounds good to me.

Need to get off to a fast start. Playing catchup with this City team is almost impossible. Chelsea early on will be a good game to judge where we are.

“Making players great rather than spending big” This has resulted in one title in 31 years. It doesn’t work. You’d swear it was still 2019 and we had the best team on the planet. Could very well be only 3 seasons left with Klopp should be spending big to win as much as we can. A first 11 strikers and centre mid need to be brought in. Plenty available.

Randall, Darby, Kelly, Wisdom, Flanagan were all kids too. Doesn’t mean they were good enough to be a right back for Liverpool.

DavidK

{Ed001's Note - what has that got to do with anything? I can list ones that were but it proves nothing. You are showing a complete ignorance of how youth development works or football in general for that matter. Or do you think Pele, Messi, Eusebio etc never made a mistake? The lad is a young player who has not had a run of games to show if he is good enough or not.}

Takes his club performances to Wales it seems. I’d take 7m and run. Probably end up with Gomez as backup rather than actually signing someone though.

DavidK

{Ed001's Note - he is a kid and made a mistake. Thankfully you are not involved in decision making. It really is sad that fans no longer support the young players coming through but instead jump on every little thing they do wrong.}
