eds any truth in us watching dalmsgaard couse i do see him as perfect signing for lfc got a shot in him pass and bit of speed especialy if origi goes should be like mane salah bobi jota than taki and him plus u can add harvy there tho i think klopp sees harvy as kdb tipe of midfielder.

Dejan

{Ed002's Note - Lots of players are watched by the club and there has been plenty of interest in Damsgaard but there are already discussions with two other sides about his transfer. And Liverpool have Mane and Jota who both play the same position.}

any of the EDS any truth in pedro neto rumours and has he been looked at atleast past season or so couse if shaq and origi go one of saul bissuma or neuhous plus neto is decent business for me.

Dejan

{Ed002's Note - Pedro Neto (LW/RW/S) At this time I am not aware of any approach to Wolves for the versatile Neto, although clubs may have spoken with his agent. Manchester United have watched him, along with Manchester City. Whilst I would expect Wolves to resist a sale a significant offer may prove tempting. Nuno may look to taking him to Spurs with him. And an offer from Juventus will be the starting point for his agent to try and extract. Wolves would likely not be interested unless something like £50M was offered. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool who would need to make a major sale first I would think. It is unclear when he will be ready to play after injury.}

1.) 28 Jul 2021 15:46:09
Is he not out injured for another few months regardless of interest?

2.) 28 Jul 2021 19:30:04
Will these adama stories carry on 😳.

{Ed002's Note - Until he signs.}

3.) 28 Jul 2021 20:09:35
So you telling us he signing next week then ed002? 🤣🤣.

4.) 28 Jul 2021 20:22:16
Hopefully Adama signs a new contract at Wolves or elsewhere than with us.

5.) 28 Jul 2021 20:23:15
Ed002 you just let the surprise slip!

6.) 28 Jul 2021 20:59:08
Please ed002, don’t ruin my evening 😃.

7.) 29 Jul 2021 08:09:00
Out if interest Ed002, who would you expect Wolves would demand a bigger fee out of Traore and Neto? I'd much rather Neto myself 😆.

{Ed002's Note - Neto.}

8.) 29 Jul 2021 10:57:37
Does anybody know what colour Mercedes Traore will arrive in for his medical?

9.) 29 Jul 2021 11:35:47
Is there enough baby oil at the club for Traore? Need him slicker than slick.

10.) 29 Jul 2021 11:58:10
If his driving is like his shooting and crossing MK, he’ll drive past Anfield and end up in Tranmere.

11.) 29 Jul 2021 12:02:42
Don't need to worry about that Southern we are sponsored by Nivea.

12.) 29 Jul 2021 12:10:44
Thanks Ed002, that's my day ruined, Traore it is ☹.

13.) 29 Jul 2021 13:02:27
I think there's a player in Traore with the right coaching. I'd certainly rather him coming off the bench than origi or taki.

14.) 29 Jul 2021 14:45:56
Completely agree with you, RW. He intrigues me a lot if the transfer price and wages make sense. Salah's finishing improved last year (he was excellent), but prior to that, both he and Mane really flourished playing in a system that gave them a lot of opportunities to score. Someone who is athletic, aggressive to the goal, smart, and has a decent scoring sense can score in droves up front and they don't necessarily need to be the most clinical finisher. Traore's scoring record doesn't concern me much because I believe if he caught on to the system, he could be really dominant.

15.) 29 Jul 2021 15:07:16
There’s definitely not a player there, he’s literally got no end product. He can’t shoot, his passing is awful and his crossing is best described as “hit and hope”. Most of the time he runs the ball out of play or into blind alleyways. Even Harry Wilson has outscored him . If goals are the currency that forwards are judged on, then you have to say that Traore is a fairly poor one. The comparison with Salah and Mane is false equivalency as both Mane and Salah had very good scoring records prior to joining us, the same cannot he said for Traore, you can’t polish a turd I’m afraid. No amount of mental gymnastics is going to make this a good transfer.

16.) 29 Jul 2021 15:54:25
joke of a player, no no no.

17.) 29 Jul 2021 18:19:56
Does he supply his own baby oil? Maybe we could strike a deal with Johnsons to offset his fee?

In all seriousness I'm not a big fan but if he was relatively cheap (whats that these days? ), I would be happier to see him come of the bench than Shaq or Origi. that's not me saying he's a great player but more the bar is pretty low when it comes to some players, especially last season. It literally wouldn't be too hard to improve on and should be done as a matter of urgency.

18.) 29 Jul 2021 18:33:38
This might be Klopps third stinker of signing after Karius and Naby. Saw yesterday in Pep's training diary that Naby tried to hide out of view to avoid the press up punishment for his side loosing a training exercise . That and not learning the language suggest he is a lazy slug.

19.) 29 Jul 2021 22:44:53
more of a request for better knowledge than an outright commitment for or against AT joining us, and yes i think his goal output could be a lot better and his numbers are nowhere near what our players are producing at the moment, but I wonder if his poor assist record is more down to him not providing or the the person he is providing to not actually putting in the net. If he is providing the crosses and the striker is not scoring then that will surely bring down the assist record.

As wolves main striker Jiminez was out since November his replacement in the team may not have had the goal output that Jiminez had.

Again, I have not seen much of him and what i have seen he looks very menacing but I just wonder if the drop in standard of striker he was creating for would make a significant difference to assist ratio.

20.) 30 Jul 2021 05:21:30
Yeah, GR I think you're correct there. I'm not going to act as if I watch Wolves matches either, I'm going purely off stats, but they still offer an insight nevertheless.

In PL 19/ 20 he had 13 goal contributions (4G 9A) from 2604 minutes played, whereas in PL 20/ 21 he (only) had 5 goal contributions (2G 3A) from 2643 minutes, a clear downturn between the two seasons.

However, what VVVV said also holds true. In his last season at Roma, Salah played 2486 minutes and made 28 goal contributions (15G 13A) in Serie A.

In his last PL season at Southampton, Mane made 18 goal contributions (11G 7A) in 2606 minutes.

I know the Liverpool scouts look at much more in-depth data than I do, so take what I say with a pinch of salt, but I don't think Traore shows the same potential that Salah and Mane did.

29 Oct 2020 15:30:24
Is there any truth in David Alaba because i do see him as a sensible lb or cb and dm. he played a lot of dm for Austria. I see him as milly replacement.

Dejan

1.) 29 Oct 2020 18:53:25
His wage requests are holding up any extension in Germany, I doubt we could match his demands.

2.) 29 Oct 2020 20:18:53
David Alaba would be a starting 11 signing as he’s either a LB, LCB or DM so absolutely no chance of this signing.

3.) 29 Oct 2020 21:14:16
If out of contract and looking to join us i think he'd be a terrific signing. Can cover numerous positions to a top standard.

4.) 30 Oct 2020 13:00:16
Reports suggest his wage demants are at 20mio a year. don't think we have that kind of money to pay for a CB.

5.) 30 Oct 2020 16:53:00
Huge wages and signing on fee. VVD will take the LCB spot when he's back fit, Robertson is first choice LB and Fabinho is first choice at CDM so where would he fit? It's a FIFA signing.

6.) 30 Oct 2020 17:35:36
Highly doubtful. He doesn't fulfill any urgent requirement. And why are we suddenly looking at players who are 28 years and above?

7.) 31 Oct 2020 11:59:09
Because he's a class act and has been his whole career. don't get me wrong i see that if the wages are as high as quoted and with Robbo/ VVD at the club why this wouldn't happen. But the whole age thing?, i heard this all summer with Thiago, and now all of a sudden people realise how good a player we could have for the next 4/ 5 years. Alaba only turned 28 in June . For me the club should always be trying to sign the best young players in the world but when a free 28/ 29 yr old Thiago or Alaba also makes sense they shouldjump at it.

{Ed002's Note - And how would Liverpool afford the cost of Alaba' wages?}

8.) 31 Oct 2020 12:06:25
I'd actually would like to see VVD at RCB somewhere down the line. Half a second quicker delivery on those crossfield passes should cause even more trouble for opponents.

9.) 31 Oct 2020 12:55:42
I mentioned the wages as a reason why it might not happen if you RTP correctly ed😉.

10.) 01 Nov 2020 12:49:57
How unimaginable are his wage demands does anyone have a tough clue? Because you could potentially get in a player for no transfer fee yet the quality of player would cost likely 50mill to sign if under contract. Could that not afford some extra investment in salary or are his demands utterly ludicrous? I know that Milner and matip were both given large wages when they were signed on a free. When you see what city had to spend on Nathan ake or villa on Tyrone mings, both left sided players capable of playing centre and left back and were 40mil transfer fees alone. And for a player who is actually proven to be top quality with his career to date at one of the world's best team. Your not going to get that calibre without spending huge money so surely even large wages would be a bargain considering lovren lallana both having high wages and soon Milner will all be freeing up large salary costs that surely combined would cover alaba signing package and with money left over. He's a player who can play in each of those departures position and is far better quality while also a few years younger.

Are there any other question marks over him that clubs are put off by? I would have thought he'd have clubs queing up to sign him. Juventus got Ramsey on a free but have been happy to pay him 400000 a week instead. Surely alaba wouldn't even demand that much even though he's worth more than Ramsey. Would somewhere like psg be his most likely move. I'd think they could pay him to replace thiago Silva or maybe juve looking to replace chiellini. Barca, real, United, Chelsea, city, inter, juve could all do with him in their squads so is it simply just money that's a problem.

11.) 05 Nov 2020 21:34:50
Tbf everyone said the same about thiago. I don't see where he would play but he is class.

05 Aug 2020 11:28:52
eds i did asked week or so about chiesa apperently sin lastnight or so they are wiling to let him go so if origi rumors are true i would love if we can get chiesa instead origi jost get him in for simmular cash that u sell origi.

Dejan

{Ed002's Note - That is not going to happen, sorry.}

04 Aug 2020 17:06:03
any of the eds how true are rumours for origi and villa if so i hope more mins for taki and Brewster.

Dejan

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach for Origi but suspect he would be available if Brewster were to return.}

1.) 04 Aug 2020 18:25:37
Brewster will return.

2.) 04 Aug 2020 22:57:03
Brewster would be better off to build on his successful loan with a full season in the championship, Swansea again would be good. Much better off there than playing in the u23s and the league cup, if he would even start in the league cup that is.

3.) 05 Aug 2020 08:49:51
He needs to step up in his development Sean and if we want him to go out again it should be to a prem team Brighton Would be a good shout as they play an attacking game and he would get chances and not living off scraps.

4.) 05 Aug 2020 10:26:57
I think it's a big risk if he goes on loan to a premiership club at this stage, I'm not certain he would be a regular starter. If he stayed fit he would start around 40 games in the championship whereas if he goes a few games without scoring in the premier league then he would very likely find himself on the bench.

Swansea is his only senior football experience, 22 league games with 11 goals. I would 100% prefer another loan there rather than risking him sitting on the bench of another premier league club. He needs minutes on the pitch at this stage for his development.

5.) 05 Aug 2020 19:27:11
With Brewster, I think it depends if we bring anyone in if Origi is sold. If we replace Origi, then he needs another loan. If we don't, he'll get time on the pitch.

6.) 05 Aug 2020 20:51:40
I would be going with Sean on this, Brewster was very happy at Swansea, got loads of game time, loads of goals, and was well liked by his manager, team mates and fans,
would he get that with Brighton or Leeds .

7.) 07 Aug 2020 06:00:24
People foget he missed over a season with injury, at his age a season in the championship playing regularly and scoring puts him in the best position to make an impact. A few mins here and there may disrupt his development.

Any one has idea what are the plans for sepp vdb especially after his injury because I think they did planed him as backup to donate matip and he'd be good match in new system if we go for it since he's played all from right side cb to wb any of the eds.

Dejan

1.) 20 Jun 2023 12:51:52
We can not possibly dream of playing VDB in a Liverpool team unless it’s League cup or early europa league ties. Would struggle to make the bench for any of the top 12 sides in the premiership. Hopefully he recovers well from his injury and has generated interest from his loan spells and we get a decent fee.

2.) 20 Jun 2023 12:57:59
Loan him out again to try to drive his price up, demand a silly fee for him and fail to sell him, keep him tied to the club for a couple more years where he plays a grand total of 67 minutes, lose him on a free transfer at the end of his contract.

Same plan as every other young player we sign.

3.) 20 Jun 2023 13:56:32
There are clubs that want to sign him on a permanent basis like Schalke and BVB, I have read. So if that is true then, I say let him go and pursue his career elsewhere as I don"'t think there is any need to keep him here loaning him out for no reason. Let him go and fulfill his career elsewhere so both parties can move on. Just my take.

4.) 20 Jun 2023 15:20:22
thomas do you ever have anything positive to say? why do you support a club you seem to loathe.

5.) 20 Jun 2023 16:22:15
Surely if teams like Dortmund are looking at him it shows the potential he has, no?

6.) 20 Jun 2023 16:25:57
Red mob if you don't like anything tongue-in-cheek and would prefer to only see happy and smiley things, the CBBC channel is still on for another hour or so.

7.) 20 Jun 2023 19:09:10
Tongue-in-cheek is fine when it's not every post. love how you even make wanting to see more happiness a negative. Maybe you need to watch more of the CBBC yourself?

8.) 20 Jun 2023 21:04:13
What's wrong with CBBC?

9.) 20 Jun 2023 23:50:49
@Oli - a case of if you love someone set them free, as they say, although if you put it in the context of sport these days it is translated as if someone can make you a profit, sell them. The lad needs to move on to build a career.

04 Aug 2021 18:02:19
any of the eds know what realy is happening with chiesa couse as i know he is fiorentina player who was loaned out with option to buy i haven't heard anything about making his stay permanent think option was so 50 mil same amount fiotentina asked for him think 2 y ago when klopp wanted him.

Dejan

{Ed077's Note - Chiesa joined Juventus last season on a 2 year loan deal from Fiorentina with an option to buy which turns into an obligation should certain clauses/criteria be met.

He is an excellent player, one of my favorites to watch.

1.) 04 Aug 2021 20:56:56
Love Chiesa to bits. He would be a perfect replacement for either Salah or Mane. The kid’s got it all and is even better than his dad Enrico, was even tho, Enrico was a stud as well. That deal is way too complicated.

2.) 04 Aug 2021 23:12:59
Good player but have any Italian footballers ever made it in the NW?

3.) 05 Aug 2021 05:21:15
What's so particular about the NW? You make it sound like it's the Bermuda Triangle or something? Same game of football, same rules, everywhere.

4.) 05 Aug 2021 07:17:21
Culture, weather, housing, food, schools etc.
What few top Italian footballers have made an impact in English football, have been based in the London area from memory.

{Ed001's Note - how many top Italian footballers have ever been based anywhere but London?? I can't think of any. A couple of young hopefuls in Kean and Balotelli that flopped but that's as close as it gets.}

5.) 05 Aug 2021 08:20:27
Definitely Ed. I like a lot of the Italian players that I saw in the Euros but that doesn’t mean that they could come to Liverpool and settle in.
ps could you approve my new avatar please?

6.) 05 Aug 2021 10:18:35
Ravenelli at Middlesbrough?

08 Jul 2021 14:27:37
EDS any truth in chading doku this window i think kloop mite have in mind next frond3 of harvey jota and doku wich in my opinion its realy talented 3 time will tell for their development.

Dejan

{Ed002's Note - This is very old news - try searching.}

1.) 08 Jul 2021 17:41:20
Doku seems to me to be just a younger version of Adama Traore. All speed, strength and dribbles with very little end product. Great to watch, I agree, but most of us here would rather have a more complete striker or forward.

2.) 08 Jul 2021 19:34:20
He's 19 ArAy, you wouldn't expect him to be full of end product. Looked every bit as good as Saka who everyone was raving about earlier.

3.) 08 Jul 2021 20:21:30
At a similar age Mbappe scored 15 and assisted 8 for Monaco in the same league. I’m with ArAy he looks like he’s all running and no end product, he doesn’t appear to have any idea what to do with the ball.

4.) 08 Jul 2021 21:12:55
Wiki is old news. Like 2018/ 19 old.

5.) 08 Jul 2021 21:14:18
Doku, I meant to say. Darn autocorrect.

6.) 09 Jul 2021 08:07:55
Mbappe was also a generational talent playing for clearly the best team in the league by a mile. Reverse the teams of each player and i'd say there numbers wouldve been a lot closer.

15 May 2021 14:11:51
any of the EDS i know tsimikas is out at end of season so was wandering have we looked at ALIOSKI from leeds at all he's robbo alike as it gets probobly defensive bit worse but he would be proper backu for robbo and think he would be glad also his leeds contrct is up and he allso can lay right side also he's 2 footed so i think he mite even be 2nd choice for rb also in my eyes he's proper new milly signing.

Dejan

{Ed002's Note - Alioski is of no interest to Liverpool.}

1.) 15 May 2021 14:33:01
Is Tsimikas out? i know he hasn't being happy but with the centrehalves back Robbo will be able to be rested more often next season. We should keep him at least till the likes of Norris are ready to be back up to Robbo. He's had a year of learning Klopps methods so makes no sense to start again with another player.

{Ed0666's Note - what if he’s not good enough to be back up? Would you still continue the experiment?

2.) 15 May 2021 14:47:49
The player i saw bèfore he joined was good enough to be backup, nothing over the last year has suggested that's changed. Has just had no chances because Klopp hasn't wanted to change the fullbacks with Virg, Joe and Joel out.

3.) 15 May 2021 15:47:02
Who did you see him play for Jason?

4.) 15 May 2021 15:54:51
Olympiakos Mark. he was very good against Wolves in the Europa. Leicester obviously thought he looked good aswell, i believe they were interested when we signed him and their recruitment hasn't been half bad these last few years.

5.) 15 May 2021 16:38:40
Spot on, JH. Tsimikas has not had his chances due to tactics, injury and CV. He was clearly good enuff to be backup hence, he was signed. I may be wrong of course. We shall see.

6.) 15 May 2021 16:42:17
I’ve got a feeling Klopp thinks he’s not good enough, I’m sure he would have had a few mins here and there considering how knackered Robbo has been.

7.) 15 May 2021 17:29:33
Ok Jay. I agree on Leicester they seem to sign some gems. I will take Niddi and the kid at cb any day.

11 Apr 2021 15:22:37
if all the talk about zielinski is true id rather go for elmas from napoli who is way younger and more versatile also klopp can mold him in what he needs couse i don't think we will look fo pure starter think hendo fab and thiago is the starting line what u think ED.

Dejan

{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen him play, but is the Zielinski talk not an old resurrected story? Klopp tried to buy him a long time ago, he was even pictured wearing a Liverpool shirt if I remember correctly. I think it was him anyway.}

1.) 11 Apr 2021 16:32:37
Zielinski, we were interested about 5 years ago when Klopp first came. As far I as remember £13m was talked about when he was playing on loan. That ship has hopefully sailed.

2.) 11 Apr 2021 17:46:29
We went for Wijnaldum as the Usinese owners refused to sell to us following the way we acted (and that business with him in a Liverpool shirt), im pretty sure sold him to Napoli for less than we were prepared to offer as a two fingered salute. This is part of the reason we should forget any interest in Sarr, because there’s no way that Watford (who are owned by the same owners as Udinese) will do business with us without absolutely making us pay way way over the odds.
