Samuel Chukwueze is a name that has popped up in the recent past, a good young forward talent plying his trade at Villareal, some rumours circulating that Liverpool are interested, any insight into this one eds?

Dela12

{Ed002's Note - Samuel Chukwueze (RW) a Villareal youngster in Spain under the Cotonou Agreement that drew attention of Arsenal again recently when they were scouting another player (Pablo Fornals). As a 16 year old he had trials at Arsenal after the Under 17 World Cup but it came to nothing. Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich have a declared interest in the player, as does Leicester City but they realised there would be a need to overpay on transfer fee or wages to ensure a Work Permit could be obtained so asked for a price - and stepped back at the €60M quoted.}

1.) 22 May 2019 20:20:19
Cheers Ed002, I've watched Chukwueze recently against Barcelona and thought he looked a real talent, unfortunately €60M seems a ridiculous fee, I've seen links to Nicolas Pèpè recently but maybe I'm being over optimistic and unrealistic, I'm sure we probably won't see any real transfer activity until after the Champions league final, thanks for the quick response.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

2.) 22 May 2019 21:15:29
I’m intrigued who we actually get seems to be very under the radar!

Although given our season isn’t over we probably are waiting for this.

Morning Eds, Quick question, how reliable is the Sunday Express? They've published an article today claiming Liverpool are close to deals for Norwich midfielder James Maddison and Fulham winger Ryan Sessegnon!

Dela12

{Ed001's Note - around about as reliable as the Metro or the Beano judging by what you have just said.}

1.) 22 Apr 2018 14:12:06
Ed, that’s pretty disrespectful to the beano!

2.) 22 Apr 2018 14:19:47
Dear Ed001,
I have to protest at your comment in regard to the Beano's reliability. As a reader and subscriber of this publication for many years, I must point out that the Beano's sport section, and especially the 'news and rumour' section, is far superior to that of The Express, Metro and indeed, The Star.
Yours sincerely,
Killingholme Clay on behalf of Biffo.

{Ed001's Note - I apologise, I should, of course, have said The Dandy.}

3.) 22 Apr 2018 14:49:04
Upset Desperate Dan at your own peril.

{Ed001's Note - you do seem to have great knowledge of the comic. Very .... impressive.}

4.) 22 Apr 2018 15:34:29
I only read the serious bits.
:-D.

{Ed001's Note - are you suggesting there are any bits that aren't serious??}

5.) 22 Apr 2018 16:21:18
Woah! Desperate Dan should not be mentioned in any form of bad writing as in a example along side the express.
The Dandy is legendary. I still dream of Cow Pie
Ed’s my respect to you is there but but please refrain from the mocking of The Dandy.

6.) 22 Apr 2018 19:04:58
I'm more worried about Desperate Harry!

15 Apr 2018 12:22:40
Hi Eds, just curious whether there has being any indication that Liverpool would target additional wide players in the summer to compete with Manè and Salah (cover injuries/ strength in depth) or considering how well Harry Wilson has being doing at Hull will Jurgen give him a chance to impress rather than sign another winger?

Dela12

{Ed002's Note - A couple of players who the club has shown an interest in are able to play wide. I would rather doubt you will see much of Wilson next year.}

1.) 15 Apr 2018 13:27:42
What's the plan with Wilson? Another loan?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any plan at this time. I appreciate reports are good and he is doing well but it is hard to see how he would fit in to the first team plans for next season given he has zero relevant experience and has been playing in the Championship and PL2.}

2.) 15 Apr 2018 15:17:08
Maybe a loan to a premier league team?

3.) 15 Apr 2018 15:23:43
Ed002, I read your reports on our most linked midfield options and below it you said to give you a break because people keep asking about attacking options. Just wondering. have you had enough of a break now, that we can ask for your list of our attacking options?

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you mean by "most linked". As for more attacking players I don't think anything has changed.}

4.) 18 Apr 2018 00:21:13
We should see if Klopp's pal at Huddlesfield will take Wilson on loan next year and give him regular playing time.

There is rumours circulating that Liverpool have had a €20m bid for Stefan de Vrij rejected by Lazio, this would be a cheap alternative to Virgil Van Dijk, Lazio apparently want €30m!

Dela12

1.) 07 Jun 2017 17:32:50
Quality CB imo. Better value for money than VVD at half the price. Lazio want 20 million plus for him but he would be worth it coz he also possesses leadership qualities.

2.) 07 Jun 2017 18:11:50
I asked ed01 who he would prefer to vvd after he had said why he didn't think vvd was right for us- de vrij was the player named as a realuatic alternative.

3.) 07 Jun 2017 18:11:59
Not aware of any link (I thought he was Milan-bound? ), but he is a good player who's improved considerably and probably does represent better value if Southampton is now demanding £70m.

4.) 07 Jun 2017 18:13:54
Maybe we are looking to buy both and play 6 at the back next year 😂.

24 Jan 2017 09:28:45
Hi Eds, There is rumours circulating that LFC have sent representatives to Portugal to try and broker a deal for William Carvalho, is there any truth in this rumour?

Dela12

{Ed002's Note - William Carvalho has been looked at by Liverpool so there is the chance that something can be done.}

1.) 24 Jan 2017 11:47:33
I personally can't see this happening but going back to the summer window and I remember having a convo with a few reds and ed001 about who would like to see us sign and my target was William carvalho. looks a destroyer in the middle of the park and after watching the euros in the summer was very good on the ball. would be a good signing in my opinion, this signing would surley mean the end to stewart at lfc tho in the long term. the lad is 23 and by now would be thinking about his options especially if carvalho or indeed another central midfielder signed.

2.) 24 Jan 2017 11:43:03
Would he be Expensive eds? I remember sporting where asking for almost 40 million before?

{Ed002's Note - Yes he would be expensive.}

3.) 24 Jan 2017 12:03:35
Ed02, Out of curiosity, you mentioned in the past that Arsenal had sustained interest in the player. Have they moved on mate or they are still interested in the player.
Thanks a ton for the reply in advance

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal's interest has gone.}

Hi Eds,

Any insight into the following individual's reliability (Jimmy McCann) who has specified that : BID MADE!
Liverpool today have made an official bid for Real Madrid player Marco Asensio. Being told its around €65m. Problem with this deal is that Real Madrid are adamant they want a buy back clause and Liverpool do not. Player keen on the move #LFC

This is a Twitter quote, apparently he was a football agent!

Dela12

{Ed002's Note - Obviously I have no idea about the reliability of anyone on Twitter aside from #WonderDogSparky - who everyone tells me is the coolest cat.}

1.) 09 Jul 2019 13:12:53
Lol. Not been on here this morning then log on to see someone saying we are after Callum Wilson and now this BS with Asensio! It is a rumours site after all and things are quite but please guys. Stop. Just stop.

2.) 09 Jul 2019 13:31:04
This is bs mate.

3.) 09 Jul 2019 14:45:09
Can you really imagine a professional real agent using twitter like this?

4.) 09 Jul 2019 17:52:46
That reminds me, is WonderDogSparky still hanging around?

5.) 09 Jul 2019 13:31:46
Is Sparky expecting any new house guests do you know?

{Ed002's Note - Right now he has the tranny and Nobby - so there is a good chance - bext ask him.}

6.) 10 Jul 2019 13:02:11
What's wrong with Twitter? I've never used or read it, but all I know is that the most powerful leader on Earth uses it to conduct his presidency daily.

14 May 2019 21:13:55
Hi Eds,

Apparently very reliable David Ornstein of the BBC reports on 5 Live tonight that LFC have little money to spend this Summer, suggests less than £20m, and will make 1, poss 2 signings at most this summer, hope this is complete nonsense.

Dela12

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what he has said, but this is not true.}

1.) 14 May 2019 22:00:43
150 million nearly off 2nd finish in prem, nearly a 100million from champs final plus player sales, also Tom Werner coming out saying he will back klopp in market, don't know wat that guy smoking!

2.) 15 May 2019 00:11:31
He's only reliable when it comes to arsenal.

3.) 15 May 2019 00:16:00
20 million would not get you two players that can improve our squad.

4.) 15 May 2019 00:29:58
Neres and Brandt will cost substantially more than Ornstein's silly guess plus we're looking at two more besides. that's my guess, lol.

5.) 15 May 2019 01:38:17
I don't want my team splashing unless its for players like Alisson or vvd.

6.) 15 May 2019 03:00:57
“Apparently very reliable David Ornstein”

AKA : the recently revealed unreliable David Ornstein.

7.) 15 May 2019 08:17:26
For all those concerned about not spending enough money, consider this : Robertson, Milner and Matip together cost around £8 million.
The problem has become that fans are more interested in the number of zeroes in the figure than the player himself.

Hi Eds,

Great site, just want to make a few points in relation to Coutinho and what seems like our transfer incompetence. Firstly I hope that retaining Coutinho from the clutches of Barcelona is not seen as a great transfer victory and detracts from our failings so far in this window. Secondly there is a perception that if Liverpool overcome Hoffenheim, LFC will be in a position to start preying on clubs who have failed to achieve Champions League Football. It's all gone very quite at Anfield at the moment, the silence is deafening, our squad is one injury away from a Lovren/ Klavan CB partnership, I cannot believe Klopp is happy with the situation, imagine going to places like the Bernabeu with them as your last line of defence, Robertson had a great deput yesterday I just hope that he's not the only defensive addition. Thoughts!

Dela12

{Ed002's Note - I think that Liverpool has a little business to do still. Klaven is a player Klopp purchased and he has repeatedly said he is happy with the defence, although of course he wants, and I assume still expects, van Dijk.}

1.) 20 Aug 2017 13:58:22
The transfer window isn't over yet. Cheer up, we've made 3 signings - Solanke had a very good preseason and looks to have a great future, Salah has been impressive since we signed him and finally, Robertson who we've only seen once, but was easily the star player yesterday. It could be worse. At least we have the chance to go to the Bernabeau, unlike last season.

14 Aug 2017 13:24:52
Hi Eds,
New rumour circulating that Liverpool are interested in signing Nice's Jean Michaël Seri, any insight? apparently he is available for €40m!

Dela12

1.) 14 Aug 2017 13:32:25
Would be a good signing, has just come off of a very good season in Nice and is highly rated, fits the type of midfielder that Klopp was after as he is quite dynamic and gets stuck in, was linked with Barcelona and Juve I think?

2.) 14 Aug 2017 13:33:42
Yeah I was you g to post and ask any of the eds or other supporters about Seri, I seen this link in the echo and don't watch much ligue 1 so not sure what type of player he us or what his qualities he has.

3.) 14 Aug 2017 13:45:42
Anyone know how he compares to Keita? i've never seen either play to be honest.

4.) 14 Aug 2017 13:48:02
I hope so (he is class but a little bit of what we have already) but I would go for Matuidi. He would add a bit of steal.

5.) 14 Aug 2017 14:14:39
We do not lack steal or any kind of physical presence
For which we are linked with Keita. We have enough power in Can, Hendo and Wijnaldum. We lack creativity. To split tight defense and transfer quick attacks and carry the ball in tight areas. I don't know about seri, but that's why we are after Keita!

6.) 14 Aug 2017 17:48:13
We can't defend.

Did you watch the game? We scored 3 goals, the first of which was a worldie. To say we lack creativity is plain rubbish. Power is not the same as steal. Steal means you have the ability to dig deep and make sure you do your job even when you don't fancy it and also to make sure others do theirs.

13 Aug 2017 15:31:55
Hi eds,

Just a question from a disgruntled LFC fan in relation to FSG, do you firmly believe that Jurgen Klopp has the full support of FSG, James Pearce had indicated that LFC had 200m to spend in this transfer window, surely any quality manager looking at our defence over the past 18 months would have identified reasonable solutions to our defensive situation and made the necessary changes to improve the team, VVD aside, surely Klopp with a 200m warchest has the capacity to purchase alternatives or is Klopp being held back by the FSG profit making machine who are only interested in supplementing the Boston Red Sox.

Dela12

{Ed002's Note - I don't get why the Liverpool fans are so concerned with the owners of the club. The club runs itself and has its own board of directors. FSG as a business do not directly interfere with the day to day running. I have no idea why anyone mentioned a budget but obviously Klopp identified back in April (to select member of the press) the four targets that he wanted. I know nothing of any "war chest". Why don't you ask James Pearce?}

1.) 13 Aug 2017 17:04:24
Were the 4 Brandt, Keita, VVD and Mendy Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Sessegnon, not Mendy.}

2.) 13 Aug 2017 17:16:46
Ed002, it's just because they are a more accessible outlet to which frustration with the current situation can be directed. The board of directors are, by and largely, anonymous, and the understanding shared by many fans in that the owners are somewhat apathetic towards the club. That's obviously not true, this is a huge investment, but understanding why is easy.

{Ed002's Note - Right, I can't help how little the Liverpool supporters know about their club.}

Coutinho is not going to Spurs! rejoice! he has turned down a loan move, more worryingly Shaqiri has being linked with a loan move to Monaco according to Swizz daily "Blick" let's hope this story is absolute rubbish.

Hi Ed002

Utter nonsense is most definitely the best description in terms of the Mbappe rumour, it started with the LeBron James / Mbappe friends and Nike connection, Liverpool potential sponsorship deal with Nike and the conspiracy theorists had it all figured out, but it was a nice dream though, why did you have to ruin it so quickly? Ha Ha.

Not exactly top class player purchases are they? City are signing Rodri from Atletico and Cancelo from Juventus, how can Jurgen compete with that, if McCarthy and Targett are our only two signings for this season, expect the gap between Liverpool an City to widen significantly, no offense to both those players but they're mid-table signings.

Dela12

{Ed001's Note - Robertson has done ok on bridging the gap and he was not even mid-table when he joined.}

Nicolas Pepe is a quality attacking player, to challenge for top honours the club needs like for like replacements, this is why Man City are the best in the country, Sterling can be replaced by Sanè, Silva with Mahrez. Shaqiri and Origi are decent backup players but not top end, would we challenge for the Premier League if Manè or Salah were injured for 6 months?

Dela12

{Ed002's Note - So Pepe will be signed to cover for Salah or Mane being injured for 6 months? Sane, Mahrez and others are looking to leave Manchester City for lack of game time.}
