Hi eds,

While funds are tight. There are rumours that Eder Militao from Madrid may be available on a loan with option to buy.

Is this even close to being a possibility that we could go for to plug the CB issue and then if he works out sign him permanently in the summer when we have a little more money?

Thanks.

DisneyVanDijk

{Ed002's Note - Eder Militao (CB) Bayern Munich accept that they will need to add two CBs to replace Boateng and Alaba and Militao provides an option they are very keen on. Real Madrid is looking to sell Militao and others to raise funds for the summer but will probably not be open to a loan in January unless there is an obligation to buy above their current €50M asking price. There will be a discussion between the clubs to see if a deal could be done to perhaps let Bayern Munich have Militao for €50M in January if Alaba were to move the other way in January rather than wait until the summer - Alaba's representative would likely favour this as he has failed to persuade another club to make an offer for Alaba with RM preferred over the interest of Juventus by the player. The other club who has spoken with Real Madrid about Militao is Spurs, with Mr Mourinho very keen on striking a deal after it has become clear that they probably cannot sign their first-choice target. Spurs have had a discussion with Real Madrid about another player and the Gareth Bale situation and would like clarity on each of these matters. I do not know of any approach by Liverpool.}

Echo reporting that Lloyd Kelly could be of interest.

Any truth here?

Also Weston Mckennie I know was mentioned as a cheap option for midfield. Is there anything it it?

Thanks.

DisneyVanDijk

{Ed002's Note - Lloyd Kelly has been of interest before - I am not aware of any approach but he could cover centre backand left back. Weston McKennie (CM) wants to play in the Premier League and watched by Brighton, Everton and Crystal Palace, but the smarter scouts should have noticed that Schalke have a far better midfield player in Suat Serder which is where the efforts should be going. Southampton have a declared interest. Hertha Berlin has a declared interest and plenty of money.}

1.) 30 Jul 2020 12:55:08
Ed’s appreciate there are lots of variables but do you think we will be making our signings towards the end of the transfer window as we need to make some sales before buying or do you think we will be trying to get the purchases done early?

{Ed002's Note - I am thinking Tuesdays.}

2.) 30 Jul 2020 13:13:16
Any particular time?

{Ed002's Note - Between 11:00 and 12:00.}

3.) 30 Jul 2020 13:31:19
Excellent, I’ll block that time out every Tuesday in my diary and get back to my latte on swanpool beach bored out of my tiny little mind.

4.) 30 Jul 2020 13:34:57
I still have a feeling we will move for Lloyd Kelly in the coming weeks. Maybe offer a fringe player or two (Herbie Kane, Larouci etc) in exchange to bring down the fee.
He provides decent cover for two positions, fee will be lower than the alternatives, lesser wages and home grown.
Cannot see how Klopp does not see the merits in this signing if majority of the funds are to be diverted to signing Thiago.

5.) 30 Jul 2020 13:56:50
The Llyod Kelly thing seems to come from both the fact we looked at him last season and a staff writer at the Echo doing an opinion piece a few weeks back that Kelly would be a "Robertsonesque" rough diamond that Klopp could hone into a quality fullback.

Not sure if it has any basis in reality.

6.) 30 Jul 2020 14:15:01
Hi as HB has plenty money why aren't they buying Gruijic?

{Ed002's Note - Because the figure quoted to them was higher than their valuation.}

7.) 30 Jul 2020 14:34:46
I think you're wrong there Ed002. I have it on good authority that on Tuesdays Klopp likes to take an early lunch and read Tatler articles to Naby. Andreas the fitness guy is always trying to pinch Jurgens specs, but on Tuesdays between 11 and 12, Jurgen gets Virgil to pretend to sweat, leaving Andreas baffled and therfore leaving Jurgens goggles alone.

8.) 30 Jul 2020 17:29:38
I suggest that you read David Conn’s article in The Guardian about the City case at the CAS. There was an infraction of FFP that was time barred and Man City did not cooperate with the investigation properly.

{Ed025's Note - why look for excuses to bash city, you are the champions so bask in your glory and not be so fickle..

9.) 30 Jul 2020 17:30:30
I wouldn't be surprised if we signed Kelly. We've held an interest before and Klopp has bought a relegated player every season since he's been at the club. He likes a bargain, that man.

Hi Ed's,

First time poster.

With the werner saga looking over. There have been some names floated around for alternatives.

First Aubameyang is running down his contract at the minute. Could be a very cheap option but highly doubt we have any interest in him.

Osimhen, we have seen his name floating around for a while and his agent has mentioned us being interested in him but no decision until after his dads burial.

I have seen Marcus Thurams name been thrown in aswell. His stats look good for a young talent that would learn a lot from the current front three.

I have heard depay being mentioned again as another running their contract down and may be available for cheap.

Are any of the above even remotely likely to have interest from us?

Thanks.

DisneyVanDijk

{Ed002's Note - (a) Liverpool have no interest in Aubameyangadingdong. (b) Victor Osimhen (S/F) One particular Liverpool scout is really pressing for the club to sign him. Barcelona have also shown an interest, but they have a financial issue to solve first - he only joined in the summer and Lille resisted all January approaches - and it is hard to see why the player would consider a career on the bench at any club. Spurs and Manchester United have looked at him and spoken with his agent. A senior Chelsea scout has also been watching the player who could be seen as an option to their primary striker targets. The interest of these sides prompted Real Madrid to attend two Lille games and they will likely have him on a list somewhere as an option. There was serious interest from Arsenal when he was much younger, but he opted for Wolfsburg. Another one not to lose sight of as he is doing well this season and could be available in the summer. I know nothing of any bid but Lille will want a premium price. Would want assurances as a starter. (c) Thuram's agent is in discussions with another club over the player. (d) Memphis Depay (F) In 2019 Depay said “I want a new transfer to a top club this summer. Lyon is a big club but it’s not one of the five best in Europe, I want to go to a club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich. I want to go to a club which suits me. To a team which really wants to play football. I’m not even half-way through what I want to achieve.” All incredibly immature and disrespectful. Milan and Lazio are possible destinations.}

1.) 06 Jun 2020 14:40:35
Is Thuram’s agent Mino Raioli? That would be cause for concern in itself. As for Osimhen, Lille want at least as much as they got for Pepe and given his age and lack of top flight experience that’s a rip off all day long. Not to mention he really should get some more mileage on the clock at Lille.

{Ed002's Note - Why would that be a concern.}

2.) 06 Jun 2020 15:16:16
It seems like trouble follows him, and their is this perception that his main motivation is agitating for his clients to move so he can get a percentage of another huge transfer fee.

3.) 06 Jun 2020 16:16:33
*there.

4.) 06 Jun 2020 22:52:36
So Depay wants to be at one of the five best clubs in Europe and then goes on to mention the six teams he wants.

Hi eds,

I am excited to see how Davies will do in Red. Hopefully he will settle in and be a big player for us.

There are also murmurs that we are looking at Calet Car of Marseille. Is there any truth we are negotiating for him? And could it be a real possibility?

Thanks.

DisneyVanDijk

1.) 31 Jan 2021 22:54:35
Sounds like clubs got close to agreeing fee but marseille couldn't find replacement in time. Maybe one for the summer I don't know. Seems more reasonable than some of the other CBs we dream about.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool were interested in the summer and would have been offered him by his agent, not Marseille.}

2.) 31 Jan 2021 23:08:56
Do you see us pushing for him tomorrow ed?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea but the Marseille representative they should speak to is in England. There are huge issues at the club right now with the coach leaving in the summer and Caleta-Car is their number 2 CB so they won’t be keen unless there is a significant offer.}

3.) 31 Jan 2021 23:21:54
So old news Ed and nothing new it happening here?

{Ed002's Note - I have explained.}

17 Sep 2020 23:27:24
Hi eds,

Fantastic signing in Thiago think he will really give us that extra edge with his passing and creativity.

I know that we are still looking at a forward potentially sarr of watfor. However, I have seen a few rumours (albeit Twitter) stating we could be looking at Jota of wolves. Have you heard anything?

I don't think a winger would affect Elliott at this tim but would spell the end for shaqiri and I know we are looking to off Wilson aswell. So we would have Origi, Jota/ sarr, minamino, Elliott as back up for the front three

Thanks.

DisneyVanDijk

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach for Jota.}

1.) 18 Sep 2020 10:09:59
Thanks for the reply ed.

Do you think Sarr is the one then? Or is there any others we may take a look at?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool need to make space in the squad and raise money. Ismaila Sarr (RW/LW/F) has had a disrupted season after moving from Rennes and has become available with Watford being relegated and Wolves have enquired after him - wanting to be kept informed just in case Adama Traore is sold. Crystal Palace have him on their list of potential Wilfried Zaha replacements, but he is not their first choice, although they could turn to him if their first choice heads elsewhere. Liverpool are interested inasmuch as he is another player like Adama Traore that Klopp has had his timgue down the throat of, but whilst he would make a good replacement for Shaqiri condideration would need to be given to (a) would Sarr want to limit his playing time to that which Shaqiri gets, (b) he is not Home Grown, (c) he would block Harvey Elliott's progression, (d) he would cost £40M or thereabouts, and (e) like the last few players asked about, would depart for AFCON when it happens as he is Senegalese. I am not aware of any approach to Watford by Liverpool or Manchester United, but either club may have spoken with his agent. If Mane or Salah were to leave LIverpool, it makes a great deal more sense and would provide the funding. If Manchester United are done with Sancho it would be another option. Cristiano Giaretta has arrived and it is unclear what his remit will be - and Watford don't need the cash so cannot be forced into a cheap sale.}

2.) 18 Sep 2020 10:34:53
Who knows what will happen but after Thiago I don't see us raising enough funds for more players, time will tell of course but should Thiago be the last signing, I'm alright with that. We have our cover for lb and Thiago. That'll suit us down to the ground. We aren't in NEED of anybody else Imo.

3.) 18 Sep 2020 10:44:13
It will depend on the future of Shqiri, Wilson, and Origi.

4.) 18 Sep 2020 10:47:14
I’m still concerned about CB personally but it doesn’t seem like we’ve registered any concrete interest in any at this time, so maybe we have favoured going for a forward instead of a CB, because first choice CB cost more than 4th or 5th choice forwards. I just hope we manage to move on the fringe players that can bring in a decent fees (Wilson, Grujic, karius, potentially Shaqiri even though I’d like to keep him and see him used far more than he has been) .

5.) 18 Sep 2020 11:44:44
We should have sold more players earlier, not loads, but Wilson, Shaq attack could have been sold. It's weird about shaq, because I like him as a player, but he doesn't really seem part of our plans, so move him on.

Eds,

Apparently we have contacted BM regarding Thiago.

Do you see this one happening?

DisneyVanDijk

{Ed002's Note - sure if the club can outbid the other interested sides and can find the money and approval to do it.]

1.) 13 Aug 2020 21:41:18
What about RBS Leipzig centre half what a beast of a player imagine him next to big virgil.

2.) 13 Aug 2020 21:50:50
Who else is interested Ed's?

{Ed002's Note - They are talking with PSG and Manchester City.}

3.) 13 Aug 2020 22:04:33
Mental if Leipzig went on to win it and Werner chose not to finish the competition with them.

4.) 13 Aug 2020 22:17:02
Leipzig could possibly beat PSG, but I don't see it happening against Bayern or Man City.

5.) 13 Aug 2020 22:27:06
Good manager Nagelsmann. Speaks good English also.

6.) 14 Aug 2020 05:29:13
It's city's all day.

7.) 14 Aug 2020 07:48:58
I have said for a while now this is the next Liverpool manager after klopp
But some will still pine for Gerrard.

8.) 13 Aug 2020 22:48:14
Are Liverpool in talks now as well Ed2?

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. Bayern Munich are talking with interested clubs.}

9.) 14 Aug 2020 06:01:48
Do city have a genuine interest Ed's? I never know with all the press bs. Surely both of those teams could easily outbid us. Guess it will come down to where the player wants to go in the end? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - There is a discussion going on but I would expect that Manchester City would have the same concerns that some at Liverpool have given his age, cost and injury issues.}

04 Aug 2020 22:39:43
Evening eds and reds.

Just seen Melissa Reddy has stated that we are considering Jamal Lewis who is with the same agency as Robbi and Trent. We are apparently considering a 10m offer.

Any Truth?

DisneyVanDijk

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea I am afraid. Why not ask her?}

1.) 04 Aug 2020 23:46:26
Brilliant reply Ed002. I'm sure Melissa will reply!

{Ed0666's Note - Good luck fella Melissa never replies to my texts, phone calls, faxes, e mails, Facebook friend requests, DM’s et al.

2.) 05 Aug 2020 00:51:30
I've read that Norwich want Larouci, who's valued at £3m, so the price might drop a bit from the £10m. Obviously his statistics must be good enough for him to sign, he's young with room to improve his all-round game (much needed imho, looks suspect defensively) and he's homegrown. Lot's of boxes ticked with this deal, if it happens.

{Ed0666's Note - imagine a year or two under Klopps tutelage for the boy?

3.) 05 Aug 2020 09:06:18
Stats don't show everything. if Klopp wants Carroll. we should get Carroll. he's earned it.
