Dear Ed

Liverpool will lost 3-4 HG players at the end of this season. (Lonergan, Clyne, Lallana and Curtice-Davis) .
Would it please be possible if you give us to the solving this issue of the Club?
Any players who are interest by the Club?

Thank you sir.

Federal

{Ed002's Note - My expectation is that Lonergan can be replaced by Kelleher. Clyne has already been replaced by Neco Williams as more than adequate cover for Alexander-Arnold. I would expect Curtis Jones to effectively take Lallana's place in the squad. Isaac Christie-Davies is not out of contract in the summer and was removed from the first team squad in January. I expect he will be available to be sold, but he will not need replacing. So there are no issues here for the club.}

1.) 16 Jun 2020 13:28:58
Thanks Eds, glad to know we have enough youngsters to take HG spots of leaving players!

2.) 16 Jun 2020 13:46:28
Ed what is the clubs thoughts on Paul Glatzel, I know he has recently had an injury he may even still be injured but prior to that he was somewhat prolific, is there a thought/ plan to get him into the first team.

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - he is highly thought of enough that he was asked by Klopp to do his rehab work with the first team. If it wasn't for his injuries, he would have led the line in the cup games. There is a lot of belief in his ability and his attitude has been exemplary, he has shown real drive to recover from previous injuries. Just have to hope this latest injury, which was a particularly nasty ACL injury which affected other ligaments too, has not destroyed any chance of making it.}

3.) 16 Jun 2020 14:45:01
Wouldn't it be amazing to have a new Fowler or Owen come through to the first team? Especially a Fowler who scored all types of goals and didn't reply on speed just instinct and that laser left foot!

{Ed001's Note - Glatzel is more of a deep-lying type of forward, which is why he linked up so well with Duncan.}

4.) 16 Jun 2020 14:56:04
Yes that would be a massive shame if he was to lose his shot due to injury. I remember him and Duncan where highly impressive together and interesting to see how the two have gone about their chances in completely different ways.

I suppose there has never been a greater chance for youth players to take their chance given the economic state of clubs.

Thank you for the reply and your time.

{Ed001's Note - it will be interesting to see how much of Duncan's scoring was due to Glatzel's quality and if he is really as good as he seemed. I know a couple of people who think he only got the chance because of who he was related to.

It also helps that the changes to allow extra subs should give more opportunities to them as well.

You are very welcome.}

5.) 16 Jun 2020 15:33:23
Yes keep forgetting that too, do you think it could be adopted more long term like into the new season?

{Ed001's Note - that is certainly what Serie A are pushing for, so probably.}

6.) 16 Jun 2020 16:05:02
Thanks Ed. Hypothetical question for you - if the 18 year old Robbie Fowler was coming through now, would he force his way into the starting 11 or never get the chance given our front line are so good and reliable.

{Ed001's Note - Fowler was that good he could force himself into the team. I think people don't realise just how good he was. He was truly special.}

7.) 16 Jun 2020 17:21:19
Nobody would give Timmo Werner a second thought if the 18yr old Robbie Fowler was available now, Ed001 is right this kid was special, 5 goals vs fulham, destroying utd's defence and making a fool of there goalkeeper at OT being among his early highlights, such a shame injuries and Houllier ruined his career.

{Ed001's Note - absolute genius, such a good natural finisher and any free kicks around the edge of the box were almost certain goals. Loved Fowler as a player.}

8.) 16 Jun 2020 18:07:06
He got a goal in the 4-3 against Newcastle. The ball came to him but it was in an awkward position and he had no time. The only way to score was hit it hard with the outside of his boot to swerve it away from the keeper. That's what he did. It looked a scrappy goal but it was the only way to score. And he had all of this calculated and executed in a split second. He was magnificent!

9.) 16 Jun 2020 18:25:23
I just watched it on YouTube. A typical mcmanaman run and low cross. Fowler let it come across his body and lashed it in low with the outside of the left foot. It was pure genius. Then he dived into the net after it. One of the great goals I think. My favourite Liverpool player.

10.) 16 Jun 2020 18:25:43
On the extra subs comment, I personally do not hope it is implemented. It ruins many friendly international (if they are not pointless enough) . It is used to draw out games that teams are winning and to break the rhythm. for me, 3 is plenty.

Just my thoughts.

In this crazy time - i understand it (if not support it) but please not in "normal times"

11.) 16 Jun 2020 20:56:31
The biggest shame for Fowler was that he wasnt given the deserved shot at international level. The best finisher i've ever seen truly.

12.) 16 Jun 2020 22:36:56
I wouldn't mind keeping the 9 on the beach and 5 able to come on. However what if the 2 extra subs had to be youngsters to promote youth development, probably never going to happen but just thought I'd throw that idea out there and see what over people think.

13.) 16 Jun 2020 23:59:32
Ed001 Am I right in thinking fowler not did his knee against Everton and was never quite the same again. We had a good chance of the league that year till the injury if an remembering right. Then Owen took over and the team was built round him football was not as good from then till klopp took over a lot more defensive.

{Ed001's Note - that is a long time ago and I can't remember who he picked up his injury against now.}

Hi Ed

Are there any chance of Mignolet move out of the club at the end of this season? If yes
Any players that the Club is looking to buying for Back up GK?

Thank you.

Federal

{Ed002's Note - It is in the hands of Mignolet. If he decides to move on then Liverpool should look for someone who can be trusted, is older, homegrown and can help with the younger goalkeepers and youth coaching.}

1.) 10 May 2019 10:25:45
Anybody know how grabara has fared on loan? I know he's only a kid and should be loaned again next season for game time. Just curious if anybody knows how he's performed?

2.) 10 May 2019 10:59:41
I have been passively following Grabara, and overall it has been a great experience.

There was a game where he was at fault for both goals, but credit where it’s due he’s picked himself up and is helping them push for a Europa league spot.

I think we will see him make another step up next season

Completely agree with the back up keeper, experienced/ homegrown. Any suggestions?

3.) 10 May 2019 11:10:24
Grabara has impressed massively in Aarhus this season. Probably the best performing keeper in the Danish league. AGF hope to keep him but realize that it may be difficult, as he is clearly capable of playing at a higher level.

4.) 10 May 2019 11:27:07
How about Wily Caballero Ed002? He'd provide good cover, knows the league, would be cost effective and has experience.

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over WC but someone along those lines. Perhaps a tad younger.}

5.) 10 May 2019 11:32:28
That's great to hear, cheers for the updates. Let's hope the best choices are made for him to develop in the future.

6.) 10 May 2019 11:43:27
Eds do ye know of any clubs who've shown interest in mignolet by any chance?

{Ed002's Note - It is unimportant whilst it is in his hands.}

7.) 10 May 2019 11:50:30
How is a question asking if clubs are interested in Mignolet, on a post regarding Mignolet leaving, unimportant?

{Ed002's Note - Because I have explained it is in the hands of Mignolet.}

8.) 10 May 2019 12:19:25
Would be amazed if Migs is still here next season.

9.) 10 May 2019 13:16:53
Dudek anyone? Heard he’s forming a YMCA tribute band but keeps getting the moves wrong.

10.) 10 May 2019 13:23:30
I wonder if Begovic would be a good alternative. Homegrown, 31, and looks like Bournemouth has it's goalie of the future. Might be cheap. Though still might want to find a starting role somewhere else.

11.) 10 May 2019 13:29:39
But still knowing if teams are interested is relevant at this point.

{Ed002's Note - Nah. It is of no relevance whilst Mignolet has yet to make a decision.}

12.) 10 May 2019 13:34:11
are there any updates on who liverpool are interested in as a potential mignolet replacement?

also, can we rule out any possibility that pepe reina returns?

{Ed002's Note - This is going around in circles.}

13.) 10 May 2019 15:51:58
If it's in Mignolet's hands there's a good chance he'll drop it.

Sorry couldn't help it😁.

14.) 10 May 2019 16:33:18
You spin me right round Reina right round!

15.) 10 May 2019 16:44:40
Even his transfer request slips through the net.

16.) 10 May 2019 18:33:34
Thank you for the info Ed. Although I have a q. Will Migs play the role of the older 3rd choice keeper, or will the youngsters fall back down the pecking order?

Good day.

{Ed002's Note - No, nothing weird will be going on.}

17.) 10 May 2019 20:26:56
Ed2 any knowledge or opinion on the young Irish keeper at LFC?

I read a report a while ago that Klopp was quite amazed by him?

{Ed002's Note - I can’t help, sorry. Edooa may have a view.}

18.) 10 May 2019 21:44:42
Wonder if Burnley's Pope would be open to a move as number 2. Guessing it us unlikely if he has England ambitions. Maybe Alex McCarthy with Gunn nailing the number 1 slot at Southampton?

19.) 11 May 2019 04:18:38
J. Hart as backup and Andy Carroll on Free.

20.) 11 May 2019 17:38:38
Ed002, is the older, trusted, homegrown goalkeeper who can help coach the youth potentially Joe Hart?

21.) 14 May 2019 05:38:34
Niall42 caoimhin Kelleher is actually from the same place as me. What's amazing about him is he was always a striker, regularly scoring, . One game when he was 14 or 15 he was chucked in goal after the keeper got injured, his first ever time playing GK. Couple of years later and he's employed by Liverpool.

Amazing I think, he often says if he's facing an attacker, he thinks in the mindset of when he was the striker looking to shoot and that gives him a split second to make an early move.

I hope he goes on loan next season and can get minutes under his belt. A very humble down to earth lad with great professionalism will only help his career.

22.) 14 May 2019 10:14:29
You're right there Har_red92, and with Caoimhin and Travers at Bournemouth it's nice to know Ireland's goalkeeping situation looks so bright for the future. A good loan for Kelleher would be beneficial, but needs to be considered carefully. Grabara's is the ideal example, he's having a great time in Denmark, keeping 4 clean sheets so far. He's helped AGF into the two-legged playoff final for the chance to progress to the Europa League playoff. All really good and important experience for him and apparently he is visibly growing in stature and confidence with every game. Shamal George on the other hand didn't play at all at Tranmere, for reasons that I'm not aware of. I think Kelleher is good enough to have an impact at a smaller club next season, but finding the right one will be crucial.

Haha, and yes Ed002 that was a weird question above. Migs is "the best number two in the Premier League" according to Klopp, so he certainly won't be third choice and we're only talking about someone coming in if he decides to move on for regular football. But his contract runs to 2021 so he may decide to stay, as has been repeatedly mentioned it's up to him.

I think the amount we're discussing the backup goalkeeper situation speaks volumes for how little work our squad will need this summer.

23.) 14 May 2019 11:28:52
Yeah a league 1 or 2 would be realistic if he can be given game time there. It's amazing he only ever played keeper for the first time a few years ago, has that ever been the case with other top level keepers in the past I wonder?

16 Feb 2018 06:43:42
Hi Eds

As we know Pepa Reina will has contract expire in this summer.
Is there any chance to bring him back to Anfield?

And Is he interested return back to Anfield?

Thank you
Federal.

Federal

{Ed001's Note - why on earth would we want him back after the way he acted to force his way out?}

1.) 16 Feb 2018 08:34:58
Sweet Jesus 🙈.

2.) 16 Feb 2018 16:54:37
Want to move forward not backwards.

3.) 16 Feb 2018 18:40:16
Still better than any other keeper we have on the books.

4.) 16 Feb 2018 22:41:23
Let’s bring Benitez back as well.

5.) 17 Feb 2018 19:42:48
Benitez is a proven winner. Dufus cooment that.

6.) 17 Feb 2018 21:03:25
How about Fernando Torres? Heard anything about that eds? / s.

{Ed001's Note - he is just waiting on Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia to complete their returns before he signs mate.}

7.) 17 Feb 2018 21:38:34
“Fans” constantly looking backwards.

8.) 18 Feb 2018 07:20:07
I have heard we were looking to see if Pegguy Arphexad wants to come back aswell any truth in this eds?

28 May 2014 08:05:12
HI EDs

How is situation about Assaidi? Do Stoke still want to buy him?
If yes, is it possible if we can agree with them at cash plus a player (like as J. Butland)?

Thank you.

Federal

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have set a price of €9M on Assaidi - I cannot see any Dutch side paying that which will see off interest from Twente. Genoa and Stoke are also interested but again, they would probably not be keen.}

29 Apr 2014 06:36:45
Good morning EDs

May I ask you some questions?

1. I saw some reports say that Liverpool are in pole position to sign Adam Lallana in this summer. Do we have any chance to sign him now? As far as I followed your previous replies he seem like not to move to join us.

2. Liverpool are interesting in Konoplyaka, Bertrand, Parejo, Tello, Huges and Rojo. Do you have any addition names would like to mention for us?

3. Macca still exist in the page? Long time no see his/her post.

Thank you and Best regards.

Federal

{Ed001's Note - 1. It is unlikely, though it will depend on what happens there in the summer with regards to the manager, as to whether he will move on. Are we in pole position? No. There is no pole position at the moment, he is waiting to see what is happening before even considering offers. The stories are all the usual make believe fiction from hacks.

2. Ryan Colclough (Crewe) though unlikely to make any kind of move for him. Only one I can think of right now.

3. He is very busy these days so doesn't tend to post much. He has my number and BBM pin if he ever wanted to pass anything on, though we don't get time to talk much.}

Hi Ed001

How’s about Anthony Barry? A Liverpool fan who is assistant manager at Bayern Munich and Portugal national team.
Could he be a shortlist candidate for Klopp’s successor?

Thank you.

Federal

{Ed001's Note - bit soon.}

1.) 27 Jan 2024 09:42:01
Never heard of the guy. Also, not sure it is wise to go get a no. 2 somewhere else when you could get a no. 1 currently killing it at Leverkusen like Xabi is.

{Ed002's Note - Anthony Barry will get his chance in the future - he is a very good coach.}

2.) 27 Jan 2024 11:49:05
Ya can't go wrong with a Barry?.

3.) 27 Jan 2024 12:24:25
The only time in the past 5 years that the Irish team looked like it was going in the right direction was when AB was helping out for that 6 month period .

He is/ will be an excellent coach/ manager/ head coach.

I agree with ed 1 and 2 though.
Bit soon.

4.) 27 Jan 2024 12:37:04
So we are going to get Alonso only for him to be pushed out as he feels we are tying to get Barry in. Poor lad will be having flashbacks.

5.) 27 Jan 2024 12:47:59
Ah okay then, Ed02. I'll keep an eye out for him. Thanks for the tip.

6.) 27 Jan 2024 12:29:22
Ed2 - you would know Anthony Barry frm his Chelsea days, how highly do you rate him?
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Yes and he is a very good coach.}

7.) 27 Jan 2024 14:10:14
I have absolutely no issues working alongside Alonso?.

8.) 28 Jan 2024 06:50:55
Don’t know enough about AB, but I recall BR being a very good youth coach but somehow just didn’t work out with us.

Merry X mas and Happy New year to all Eds, posters and readers in this site. I wish you and your family always have good healthy and wealthy.

Regarding to a lot of injury in forwarders, do LFC have chance to bring in someone in this Jan window?
If yes. Can you share me your opinion to those players could come in?

Thank you.

Federal

{Ed077's Note - merry Christmas and a happy new year to you too Federal, and every poster and reader here too.

26 May 2021 06:11:49
Hi Ed

As we know, Adrain may leave this summer.
Who is Liverpool looking replacement for him?
John Ruddy?

Federal

{Ed002's Note - Kellerer will probably become number 2 and Kamil Grabara should be able to step up.}

1.) 26 May 2021 10:44:09
Was hoping Ed was going to say that. Kelleher has always done well enough when called upon. It'll be great for him to be Alisson's deputy.

2.) 26 May 2021 10:55:50
I'm torn here. Yes, it would be great for Kelleher to be No 2, but he's good enough to be No 1 at a lower Prem or higher Championship team. Is it better that he gets the experience of more regular games?

Sods law that we keep him and Alisson is uninjured and we go out of cups early, so Kelleher just gets a handful of games.

I guess it comes down to the player. I'd like to keep him happy as I see great potential there to succeed Alisson in years to come.

3.) 26 May 2021 10:59:40
You could see him being shipped out after all he has become a bit of a drain on the finances, see what I did there, boom.

4.) 26 May 2021 11:41:58
Kelleher has been quality when he has been in the side, agile, good decision making, confident on crosses and good feet. I’m happy to have him as number two, he should get all the cup games.

Hi Ed001

A long long time, no see any posts or update from Macca.

Do you know where he is now? or he already left from this site.

Thank you.

Federal

{Ed001's Note - he left because people kept trying to stir up trouble between him and the editors. Posters constantly wanted to create arguments whenever he said anything and set us against each other.}

1.) 18 Jun 2020 11:15:35
Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer were sent off after fighting with each other during a 3-0 loss to Aston Villa at St James' Park.

2.) 18 Jun 2020 11:16:00
Sorry replied to the wrong post.

{Ed001's Note - that did have me confused.}

3.) 18 Jun 2020 11:18:31
Seriously Ed is he gone for good? Such a pity if he is gone such a wealth of information for us.

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea mate. I did keep in touch with him on FB, but I deleted that years ago so don't have any way of contacting him any more.}

4.) 18 Jun 2020 12:02:13
Do you have a plan to bring him back to the site?

Thank you.

5.) 18 Jun 2020 11:07:31
What a pity, he was often spot on with his info. Hope he can drip feed us a few tidbits under a pseudonym sometime.

6.) 18 Jun 2020 18:36:07
This is why due to the sins of a few, the rest of us can no longer have nice things like Macca providing us with inside info. Dad.

Any interest in Goncalo Guedes from Liverpool?
I saw your mention about him in European page.

Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - I don’t think I said anything about Liverpool.}

World transfer record with the 6th position.
And Matic is a super world class midfield in the universe.
Because his 27 assist number is better and more than 44.
