Hi eds. Do you think Nat Clyne will be moved on this summer? With Trent AA doing a good job when called upon and us being linked with Rafinha (judging from the papers), it seems like even RB is not as sorted as we think.
I remember last summer he wasn't that happy with LFC.
Many thanks.

GALF

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any efforts to sell Clyne and Liverpool has not been looking specifically at RBs.}

1.) 15 May 2017 14:50:22
Ed002, didn't you say that you thought that the club would sell Clyne this summer? Or was that ed001?

Cheers,

{Ed002's Note - I suspect it was Ed001.}

Thought we were interested in Pereira from Nice Ed he's a right back?

{Ed002's Note - The interest in him was due to his versatility.}

3.) 15 May 2017 15:22:54
Okey, my bad!

Thanks Ed!

Hello Eds,
In case we don't get the main target LB, have we ever had any interest in Napoli right/ left back Elsaid Hysaj? It seems he is going places with A. Madrid, Bayern M, and now Arsenal interested in him. 22 yrs old and a full international. Out of contract from Napoli in Jan 2017. Comfortable either flank. We surely can do worse.
Thanks.

GALF

{Ed001's Note - we certainly haven't up to now.}

1.) 02 Aug 2016 22:47:57
Hysaj looks like an outstanding player, though he plays primarily as a right back. I would love him at Liverpool but unfortunately no interest in him from us. I won't be surprised if he goes on to the sort of level Lichsteiner and Zabaleta reached, and his style of play is similar to theirs.

2.) 02 Aug 2016 23:16:46
Well. it seems this one has gone as well. Napoli tied him up for few more seasons and slapped a massive 50 million euros buyout clause in his new massively improved contract today, scaring away Bayern M and Barcelona. And Chelsea too.
On to the next one now eds. Likely to be Hector it seems.

Anyone here remembers Alonso to Finnan, Finnan to Gerrard, Gerrard to Cisse, goal, 2-1 in the FA Cup Final 2006? Superb goal. The turning point.

Very underrated goal. I thought it was a very brilliant go, myself.

Ed 001
If you are about, why do you think Pep Lijnders has much saying over tactics? You seem to not like the guy with his actual set up and thinking and I agree, I don't like it either. But why does he have to call the shots for such massive changes how the team plays. Surely this is Klopp-only remit. Is he being prepared to be a successor once Klopp moves on? I truly don't think he is capable a Klopp-team, not he is capable to lead a team such as LFC. Houllier and Phil Thomson spring to mind but Phil never claimed what Pep L claims, all I, I, I. Also when Rafa had his disagreement with Ayesteran, he went.

GALF

{Ed001's Note - I don't have any problem with him as a person or as a coach, but as a tactician he is abysmal and I do not understand why he was being groomed as Klopp's successor.}

1.) 30 Aug 2023 22:08:36
Intensity! ? prob a nice chap etc but I can’t stand him he needs to shut his mouth! Brian kidd most successful assistant ever doesn’t even have a book!

2.) 31 Aug 2023 11:02:22
Ed01, oh dear. Is he being groomed as Klopp's successor? I know Klopp will definitely fight for him and endorse him to be his successor but if he is going to be like this and be so arrogant then, I shudder to think what will happen.

{Ed001's Note - he certainly was being groomed to succeed Klopp. I really hope that plan will be dropped.}

Hello Eds,
do you think if Coutinho goes this will affect Firminho? They are close together and with Lucas also gone, now Firminho might end up suddenly being the only Brazilian left in the team. I know Brazil national team have replicated the way the two play for us also for their national team. Not that I care how Brazil set up but their great work together for LFC guarantees them a pairing for the national team too.
Im dreading Couts move will have a knock on effect on Bobby F. He might also seek to move if we budge on Couts
Just my two pence
Thanks.

GALF

{Ed002's Note - Why does everyone see this in such a weird light? Players come and go.}

1.) 14 Aug 2017 00:00:37
If firmino has a good year you can bet Barcelona will be after him next summer.

2.) 14 Aug 2017 00:07:36
Am I the only one having visions of firmino doing a sad version of the samba by himself because coutinho and Lucas have gone and left him?

3.) 14 Aug 2017 09:32:27
Did you see bobbys face when he set up and then celebrated salahs goal - he was fired up and ecstatic - if we start winning then magically all those little problems will just fade away!

Hello Eds,
just a quick question: if we agree to sell Couts to Barcelona tonight, can he still play against Hoffeinheim over two legs for us and then move to Barcelona once the qualifier is done, without this affecting his eligibility to play for FCB in the CL in the upcoming season?
Many thanks.

GALF

{Ed002's Note - Sure but the sale would not be agreed in advance - it would have to wait until after the game.}

El Hadji Diouf for me. The worst ever. A no.9 striker that went through a whole season without scoring 2003 - 2004. I remember I deliberately did not watch Liverpool games when he played after his spat against Celtic fans. Horrible player, worse human being.

When Coutinho arrived not many people gave him a chance. Lightweight and not proven was said. But look what Klopp and LFC did to him when he was with us. I believe that any player that wants to come to us has a really good chance of achieving what was not possible for many other reasons in other clubs. Klopp wanted this specific player for a long time. I think both at the very least have earned the benefit of the doubt.

Hats off to Ed 002 for calling this for many months.
Welcome to LFC Ryan! show us what you are made of!

Now for the final push of LCB. Left-footed is possible.
