Hey Ed02 you said a day or two ago that we should keep our eyes out for something happening in regards to the Ox. Any further info on this? Cheers.

HX Red

{Ed002's Note - Not yet.}

1.) 10 Aug 2017 07:17:01
Are Chelsea also after him? Is it us or them or just us?

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea need a right sided player who can be used as a wing back - so he is an option for them as well.}

2.) 10 Aug 2017 10:53:10
Thanks Ed. Cancelo to Chelski and Ox to 'pool then.

09 Jul 2017 20:18:22
Heard that there could be interest in Radja Nainggolan as a fall back option to Keita, could the ed's care to shed some light on this? Thanks.

HX Red

{Ed002's Note - Roma have told the interested parties that he is not going to be sold but that doesn't include Liverpool as they have shown no interest in him.}

1.) 09 Jul 2017 21:27:24
He rejected Chelsea last season and now, Utd. Also, don't know how he will cope with the way we play as he is a smoker.

{Ed007's Note - Cue the Socrates posts..........

2.) 09 Jul 2017 21:36:20
I think it's just because of his daft haircut.

3.) 10 Jul 2017 11:47:06
Self confessed smokescreen.

Hey ed, any truth that we make be looking at Lucas Vazquez for around £10m? Would be a great deal if we could pull it off imo.

HX Red

{Ed002's Note - A Rodgers target. Liverpool enquired about the availability of Real Madrid's Lucas Vazquez and were told Espanyol had an option as part of a buy-to-loan deal but that he would be allowed to leave last summer.}

1.) 05 Apr 2016 14:39:34
Cant see why we would go for him now, hasn't really kicked on at 24 and is similar to Alberto. Not a regular starter, so why would we spend £10m on a player no better (And in fact is significantly a worse player) than Markovic or Ibe?

2.) 05 Apr 2016 16:10:40
No better than Iago Aspas. And no he is nothing like Alberto.

3.) 07 Apr 2016 03:19:32
He will be to replace winger. likely milner.

Sorry to mention a random name ed but i was just wondering what your opinions are on Charles Aranguiz?

Personally he's a player who every time i have watched he has been near enough the best player on the pitch and seems perfectly able to play in either a more attacking role or as a deep lying midfielder.

I'm also wondering if any bigger club has shown an interest in him? In my opinion he could be the perfect alternative to Kovacic.

HX Red

{Ed002's Note - Internacionale's Charles Aranguiz was getting good reviews last season and, although tailing off a little season has attracted the attention of scouts from Europe. Bielsa has admitted that he would like to take Aranguiz to Marseille and Bayer Leverkusen have also spoken with his club but are aware a move would be difficult. It is also known that Sporting, Arsenal, Chelsea and Valencia have had the player watched in recent months. Asked about the interest of Arsenal the player did say it would be "a dream" to play for them but neither his club nor his representatives have been approached by anyone other than Marseille and Bayer Leverkusen.}

1.) 05 Jul 2015 14:03:19
Cheers ed, appreciate the in-depth response.

Hey Ed's
There has been a lot of recent talk of interest in dani parejo, a player who I do like, who has good technique and is tactically very sound. Despite this, I have to say talk of a bid of around £20m possibly even £25M I find to be expensive considering the alternative replacements we have available.

I was just wondering if you know of anything new in regards to interest in Ivan Rakitic? I truly believe he is the player we need, having watched him this season and being unbelievably impressed with his talent in his all around play on many occasions I think he is the perfect foil for Steven Gerrard in the dynamic central midfield role, similar to that of Henderson.

Thanks Ed's.

HX Red

{Ed002's Note - There is a chance that he will agree a new deal with Sevilla and it is likely that Real Madrid will step in with a good offer for him. Chelsea have rekindled interest with some recent discussions and the chance of a player moving exchange. Bayern Munich are keeping a watching brief.}

Pretty disappointed we didn't match Arsenal's bid for Lemar, we've waited years to be able to attract players of his calibre, who rejected Arsenal to join us. Could be a big opportunity missed.

£98m? Get a grip.

Hi Ed

Now before you say I'm looking for reasons to suggest Barcelona are tapping up, I'm not at all but am just curious as to what your honest take on the matter is.

If it's to be believed that the bid submitted yesterday was flatly rejected, for Barcelona to then return with an ultimatum that if we do not accept by Sunday the bid will be withdrawn, how is this not a form of tapping up the player?

The ultimatum is clearly directed at Coutinho with the aim of unsettling him further to force his way out of the club and if the bid was immediately rejected then there is no bid left to withdraw.

Either way, whether this is a perfectly legitimate negotiation strategy or not it's an underhand tactic and shouldn't be considered acceptable, I wonder what people would have to say if we made such 'ultimatums'.

HX Red

{Ed002's Note - It is Coutinho who has been courting Barcelona for more than a year.}

1.) 20 Aug 2017 06:19:31
Could it not be argued that VVD courted us? Of course not as we shouldn't have acted the way we did, Barcelona could have said no and like we should have walked away and spoke with the players club first, all a little bit of taste of our own medicine and definitely something we deserve but Barcelona are no better or worse than us in this matter regardless of any courting/ pimping out Couts has done.

2.) 20 Aug 2017 07:32:32
UL, we tapped up VVD, not the other way around and that is why we are here. Move on.

09 Aug 2017 20:06:33
Anyone else not getting their hopes up over Naby Keita whatsoever regardless of Cout/ Can leaving? The problem we had before was RB repeatedly stating he is not for sale and I don't see why this would have changed in the the last 2 weeks. I'd love to be proved wrong but it seems unlikely to me.

1.) 09 Aug 2017 21:09:16
I too remain sceptical. It would be bitter sweet to lose Phil and get NK. The pessimist in me says we will lose Phil and get no one in, but hopefully someone is telling Pip that he can only go if we can get in NK.

As for VVD, I won't even think about it until he has either signed for a new club, or when I wake up on September 1st. Don't want an ulcer.

2.) 09 Aug 2017 21:12:23
I'm not feeling anything, it's just too confusing.

I'm waiting to see how we play on the weekend and it'll be interesting to see what our squad is on the 31st August.

Apart from that i'm not letting myself think anything really. It's safer.

We will be great to see Mane back in action on Saturday, looks like he's recovered faster than expected and JK claims he's also been really with Ings who's recovery doesn't look too far away either.

Nice to see the boys back in action even if it was a fairly routine performance. I thought I'd give a mention to a few who stood out.

Ojo looked bright in the first half, I don't remember him being this quick, nice to see he played with the first teamers too. The same can be said for TAA and Grujic, all 3 were out best performers in the first half imo with Grujic's goal a really fine strike, TAA's delivery into the box was superb too.

Second half threw up a few surprises, none more so than Flanno, he wasn't under any real pressure but he linked up well down the left which was nice to see. Kent looked full of confidence and his direct play was a nightmare for their defence. Woodburn looked tidy as ever, linking up well and tucked away his penalty nicely. the most impressive for me though was Solanke, it seems crazy he's only 19! He looks strong, quick and his technique and dribbling were superb, very unlucky not to score on two occasions, looks like we have a real gem on our hands there.

HX Red

1.) 12 Jul 2017 23:05:16
Hopefully the ed's can add the second part, accidentally sent it before praising Solanke.

{Ed007's Note - Is that it mate?}

2.) 12 Jul 2017 23:51:00
Cheers ed 007!

{Ed007's Note - No probs.}

3.) 13 Jul 2017 03:49:41
In the second half, the player who stood out the most for me, was Marcovic. He was just awful.
Excuses can be made about it being first game/ no fitness or whatever, but he stood out to me as worse than all the rest and they can all use the the same excuse for mistakes and such. But hiss first touch was incredibly abysmal every time 😩.

People say Markovic is rough diamond and where's that got him? I'm neither for nor against the signing but at £40m with a year left on his contract is far too much for a squad player.

It's fake, Mick Quinn said he expects some good news for LFC fans today which so far hasn't materialised. Couts is rumoured to have asked to be left out of the CL squad though.

Both were embarrassingly poor yesterday, at least Gini has the excuse that he was substituted though.

Yeah that's what I'm saying but Mane clearly didn't fancy his chances of getting hurt or didn't know where Ederson was, it was a poor decision on Mane's behalf but a red was harsh.

He should have done but obviously didn't fancy a head collision and paid the price, the same could be said for Matt Richie in the Swansea game too, his eyes were on the ball and it's yellow card for reckless play regardless of whether contact was made (Clattenburg) .

I just don't understand why he wants the move so bad if he isn't guaranteed to be a first team regular which he most likely would be at Chelsea, the amount of potential CM's we'll have is ridiculous.
