Hi Eds, is Ryan Sessegnon still an option or has a move for him away from Fulham out of the cards. Obviously with someone who has not proven his worth at the top level is dodgy, in the past we were linked with Tom Ince, Wilfred Zaha and even Will Hughes. Zaha is coming into his own at the moment, but I don't see Sessegnon as a upgrade since he is unproven. I know someone is going to throw Delli Alli out there, but he is more the exception.

Harry the Red

{Ed001's Note - Sessegnon is nothing like those others. I don't understand why you brought up three totally unrelated players to compare with him. He is a quality player but it is now looking like we have missed our chance to sign him sadly. At least for now.}

1.) 14 May 2017 05:36:22
Cheers Ed001, unfortunately State side we do not get many Championship games and YouTube is not the best judge of quality. I referred the other three because they were billed as upcoming talent from the Championship and were linked with us, whether that was true or not.

Hopefully Ricardo Perreira is more of a possibility, since he can play both full back positions. We get Portuguese games for some reason.

{Ed001's Note - there is quite a large Portugese-derived population in some parts of the US, so that is probably why they show the games.

Sessegnon is going to be top class, I think.}

2.) 14 May 2017 07:43:47
What's the reason we have missed out on Sessegnon?

3.) 14 May 2017 08:57:13
how many times have we heard that we've missed our 1st choice target . we have to face it we are not as appealing as the teams above us which is where he will end up making the gap between them and us even bigger. how are we going to challenge for the title if we can't attract the best players.

4.) 14 May 2017 10:22:19
That depends on whether you're gullible enough to believe all the stories about our first choice target.
In the last fortnight alone I must have seen 30 - 40 players that are supposed to be strongly linked to us or definitely signing in one form of media or another.
I'm amazed at how many people lap it all up and take it as gospel, then start whinging when we don't sign players we haven't even looked at!

Hi Eds, can you guys provide any updates regarding some of these players and if they are closer to coming LFC players:

Ricardo Perreira
Franck Kessie
Jacob Murphy
Rafa Silva
Moussa Marega
Sardar Azmoun
Ben Brereton

Thanks Eds great site and work. Cheers.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - Try the Sharkopod.}

1.) 17 Apr 2017 20:55:14
Was hoping for an update, whether contact had been made or more serious narrowing down if targets. Cheers Eds.

2.) 17 Apr 2017 21:55:52
Franck Kessie has gone to Roma.

3.) 18 Apr 2017 15:26:00
Dennis, hm no he hasn't?

{Ed002's Note - Ricardo Pereira (RB/LB) - remains of interest to both Arsenal and Liverpool. As I said before, don't hold your breath about Kessie moving to Liverpool. Nothing has changed with Murphy. Rafa Silva is not first choice for Liverpool so nothing has changed. Moussa Marega remains of interest. Azmoun is of interest but not keen on a move to Liverpool. Nottingham Forest are aware of interest from Liverpool and another EPL side.}

4.) 19 Apr 2017 18:57:15
Roma have had a €28m bid for Kessie accepted. So he's not coming here.

Hey Eds, in the beginning of the season Klopp stated he only needed four CBs for the season (Lovren, Matip, Klavan and Gomez), obviously that was not enough with all the injury issues we have had. Is there a possibility for a re-evaluation of the Sakho situation. At the current rate we are more than likely to be in Europe (CL or Europa) will he increase the need at CB. I know the Van Dijk status has been beaten to death, but there are rumours claiming Southampton interest in Sakho would they do a player swap. Personally with Van Dijk fighting his own injury issues I would hate to buy a problem. Cheers Eds, great site and work as always.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - Klopp wants Sakho gone so that is a very remote consideration that he stays. Southampton will not be looking to swap Sakho for van Djik although he is a possible option for Southampton and van Djik may well be moving on Harry.}

1.) 28 Mar 2017 22:07:37
Cheers Ed002, from now I am going to just put "Ed" instead of "Eds" this way you know I am talking to you. No more of this Ed002, unless you want become Ed007 since all the info you give is top secret.

{Ed002's Note - You can massage my ego as much as you want Harry. If when you massage it you find a lot of ginger hair on your hands, it means you missed my ego but got hold of Ed007's feet.}

2.) 28 Mar 2017 22:43:14
Rather the feet than anything else!

{Ed002's Note - I was being polite.}

3.) 29 Mar 2017 10:30:48
Why do people like Sakho so much? Said the right things to the media which made supporters drool but I always found him to be error prone, uncomfortable on the ball, didn't suit our style and was a mistake waiting to happen.

4.) 29 Mar 2017 12:57:52
Coz Lovren and Klavan are terrible defenders who has one critical mistake every game and Palace has kept clean sheets in his presence and we aren't looking at any new defenders atm.

5.) 29 Mar 2017 13:12:07
Probably because the facts speak for themselves Norman - our defense with him shipped fewer goals than our defense without him. Whatever people read into the shape of his body or his facial expressions he carried the ball further and more often than any other CB in recent history, he successfully passed it long and short more and better, he successfully tackled more, he successfully intercepted more and he won more high balls than any other CB we've had for years. Whatever he 'looked' like, we were a more capable and successful team with him in the field. And right now, another team has gone from shipping goal after goal to 3 clean sheets in a row when his addition is the only change.

6.) 29 Mar 2017 15:48:36
I used to be a Sakho fan, but I fully support the manager no matter what his reasons. Klopp is not the first one to turn on Sakho, Brendan tried to oust him too. Now, I did not trust the judgement of the latter, but two managers in a row seeing a problem? That cannot be a coincidence.
When in form, Sakho was a good, proactive player in our defense - but when not on form, he used to suffer from brain lapses and AWFUL positioning. So he was by no means perfect. I still supported him, but his background issues are a different matter altogether. I have not idea what exactly has transpired, but the manager is the one responsible for building the team not only on, but also off the field. If Sakho threatens this process, then goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

{Ed001's Note - there was also whoever at PSG sold him to us in the first place mate. So that is three managers in a row.}

7.) 29 Mar 2017 16:11:11
Hjikle, I think you've been caught out making a massive assumption. We conceded a lot more goals with Sakho in the team than without. When he started in the league we conceded 1.5 a game, that dropped to 1.2 when he didn't play.

8.) 29 Mar 2017 19:47:14
Sacho won't be joining the saints that's for sure.

{Ed001's Note - what makes you say that?}

9.) 30 Mar 2017 03:39:59
I also thought hjikle slightly elaborated some facts there. that's besides the point though. I might be wrong when I say I was never overly keen on him. That's my opinion. What I have to say is that I cannot agree more with Ed001 and Drigan. He's been worn thin his past three managers. Whether that be in attitude or professionalism. Not to mention the fact that he was taking substances that the club didn't even know about. Yes I know he was later cleared with some talented men of the law but why would people still crave that type of influence around the club? Better to move on, find a better and more professional CB.

10.) 30 Mar 2017 07:09:26
Sakho finds himself in the position he is in through his own actions, there is no-one else culpable.
However, he was a good defender for us. He looked ungainly - no doubt. He was deceptively quick at recovering when he was out of position, he had a big frame and was adept at blocking crosses and shots and he would put his head in for a challenge.
He looked uncomfortable on the ball but that was also a deception. He ALWAYS looked to bring or pass the ball forward, he was always pushing the midfielders up field before he'd pass to them and his passing was quite decent.
Anyway, he's cooked his goose so we won't see him again unless we sign him from Saints in 2 years time for £50m.

11.) 30 Mar 2017 16:54:19
Cant believe Ace's joke went over your head ed01. Sakho won't be joining the saints because he ain't no saint. get it :)

{Ed001's Note - it was so bad it would have probably been best if I hadn't got it...}

12.) 31 Mar 2017 08:03:15
I understand that Sakho will never play for us again as long as Klopp is manager, but it really is just such a shame. Last week the Official Premier League website released a shortlist of 6 prem players for people to vote as premier league player of the month for march, and Sakho was one of those 6 as he has steadied the Palace ship only 2 months into it. Meanwhile during the same March period we were playing Lucas at centre back because we had no better options. Just hope now he can continue performing till the end of the season and we get what we paid for him back.

13.) 31 Mar 2017 11:39:59
Amazing how people will quickly sell their values for a shiny toy. Some might argue that pride can befall anyone, but the manager has to draw a line somewhere. Ya'll aren't missing sakho, you're just yearning for someone to "fix" our defensive issues. It was Ilori a year or two back.

Hi Eds, with the ongoing injury problems of Henderson with his plantar fasciitis, which is a condition that is hard to treat. Has the club started to contemplate alternatives to him? The guy is a great player, but these ongoing injuries have to be a concern. Thanks.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - The club has no intention of selling Henderson.}

1.) 28 Feb 2017 15:06:11
On the plantar faciitis note, I recently stumbled upon shoe inserts which are relatively new in the market. Basically pressure sensors take identify the side of the foot/ heel you favor and make sure there is added material in the region to support the affected area and relieve the pain. I am sure the club is aware of the latest and greatest but ED01 if you can ask around if that has been used for Hendo?

{Ed001's Note - they have the stride pattern etc all measured up whenever they get new boots.}

2.) 28 Feb 2017 16:54:04
Henderson has played all year or am i missing somethint? One injiry in 12 months and what that's it. Good god.

Long live the captain ay.

3.) 28 Feb 2017 17:41:48
Supermane96, FYI he has a problem with his foot, as referred to above, which is only treatable not curable. Hence, as important as he is to the team (massively, probably our most important player, imo) he could be on the sidelines at anytime. Quite a risk if we have no others in the team who can pick up his mantle.

My ideal would be to have other Hendo type players, but keep Hendo as he could just as easily have a season like this one with very little injury absence.

4.) 28 Feb 2017 20:10:34
I had pf when I played. There is no cure just rest so glad no WC or euros this year believe me this is the only thing that can help. got to feel for Hendo.

Hi Eds, we scout numerous players throughout the year and was wondering if the interest in Malcolm from Bordeaux is legitimate. I have not seen him a whole lot this year, especially since the most happening young players in Ligue 1 is Mbappe. Thanks Eds.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - Malcom was of interest to Barcelona, Olympique Marseille, Dynamo Kyiv, Chelsea and Juventus before he left Corinthians for a loan at Girodins Bordeaux to gain some experience. At the time he was expected to join Chelsea but the issues surrounding his ownership was a mess, to say the least. Bordeaux worked hard to untangle matters and persuaded the player to sign a permanent deal which ended a very ugly third party ownership deal with multiple parties involved in January 2016. The head of scouting in France for Chelsea has continued to watch Malcom with scouts from Braga, Juventus, Porto, Liverpool, Southampton, Manchester United and I imagine others taking an interest and watching him play.}

Hellos Eds any interest in Mikkel Damsgaard? Or can you just provide an overall update of what you think the rest of the window will bring. Just your opinion about the current transfer window.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - I expect Liverpool will attempt to add a Wijnaldum replacement and a versatile forward if they can. I am not aware of any approach for MD.}

24 May 2019 02:16:21
Hey Ed's, any chance to put us out of our misery and doing a Sharkopod, giving us something until the final at least. Even a run down of players being targets.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - I don't have time right now Harry.}

30 Mar 2017 18:12:25
Hey Eds anything new on the Emre Can contract talks? What are your thoughts regarding him staying or leaving? Also have we had any advance talks with any of our summer targets, the ones mentioned in the recent podcast?

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new to report that I am aware of Harry.}

23 Mar 2017 20:49:54
Hey Eds, I know this has been hashed several times. However, recent report claim we have offered Sead Kolasinac a contract for a free summer transfer. Is there any truth to this or just rubbish in the media. Cheers.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - RTFP.}

1.) 24 Mar 2017 07:12:05
Ed002 has made is very, very clear that he will most likely be heading to Milan and that this will be announced once some minor hold ups have been seen too. Seriously this information is readily available on here, seek and ye shall find.

2.) 24 Mar 2017 13:02:36
Ed02 has said Kola will sign a pre-contract with another team that is NOT LFC so we can put that option to bed.

{Ed002's Note - Kolasinac has agreed to join Milan but there is a proviso that another matter gets addressed first. If that doesn't get resolved he will be available but Schalke still want a new deal.}

03 Mar 2017 10:36:06
Hey Eds, a few weeks ago Klopp said that moves were being made and discussions were beginning for the summer transfer business. The thing he did not clarify if that meant discussion amongst LFC or with target clubs. Also do you know who the club maybe targeting or who do you all thing the club is realistic targets. Cheers Eds.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts, listen to the Sharkpods - this is what the site is about.}

Hi Ed, are Liverpool looking to add both Kone and Thurman, or is it a one or the other. Is there a possibility percentage wise you think that we would sign both players. Appreciate all the insight this transfer window.

Also is the club looking to add any defensive reinforcements? And if so do you have any insight on who the club are favoring?

Can you elaborate on the other possible replacements? Is it Sarr and Traore? Thanks Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have looked at others but they are the most likely if Liverpool are to add someone.}

Sanches at one point was extremely touted as a high ranking player. When Portugal won the Euros he was a bargain for Bayern at 40m they laid for him at the time. Can players change under the right manager and a understanding that his career is on the line, maybe. I would still say his showing at Swansea was concerning, trust in Klopp and Edwards, would gladly be wrong about a player proving doubters wrong at the club.

Even if we sell Shaq why would we replace him, just out Harvey Elliott in that position. We did not rely on Shaq last season. It is like a replacing a broken car in your driveway with a new one when it finally gets towed.

What is the fascination with new players, the club is spending the money on tying down the players we have. Every club is trying to find players of that quality we have. Do we really desperately need a Gini replacement we could move Jones in that position. We currently have Keita, Thiago, Henderson, Fabinho, Jones for three positions.

Some supporters are like little kids who just want new toys even though they don't play with the ones they have.
