Hi Ed,

Are we interested in Traore or is it old news recirculating in papers.

Thanks.

Hegde

{Ed002's Note - Yes - this has been explained on many occasions.}

1.) 10 Jul 2021 18:44:50
Thanks ed.

28 Jun 2021 13:35:30
Hi Ed,

Are we interested in signing otavio from Porto.

The news all over internet is the deal is immenent.

Thanks.

Hegde

{Ed002's Note - Otavio (AM) Otavio was running down his contract and attracting the interest of Leicester and Roma - but that would have gone with him signing a new contract in March and a new €60M buy out clause kicking in on July 1. Klopp has admitted that he likes the player and Liverpool scouts had looked at him when checking out Grujic. A Shaqiri/Minamino replacement rather than a Wijnaldum replacement if Liverpool can find the cash. Liverpool would need to persuade him he will get game time.}

1.) 28 Jun 2021 13:57:36
does any poster on here know anything about him? is he want we need going forward etc?

2.) 28 Jun 2021 14:04:25
No doubt someone will claim to have watched him since he was U9.

3.) 28 Jun 2021 14:32:43
He was a great dribbler at his christening ;-)

4.) 28 Jun 2021 14:36:19
Seems like a lot of money for a Shaq or Minamino replacement. It is not like they played a lot of minutes for us last year. Would rather the 60m be spent on a starter.

{Ed002's Note - Replacing who?}

5.) 28 Jun 2021 14:49:09
Ed002, I'd imagine Jordz means a starter replacing Wijnaldum who played so many games for us last season.

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps a chance will be given to Curtis Jones to stake his claim?}

6.) 28 Jun 2021 14:52:56
Thanks Ed for the reply.

7.) 28 Jun 2021 14:55:29
His card on fifa is pretty good. definitely should sign him because of that, ED02 is right who you wanting to replace in the team?

{Ed002's Note - One issue that is again not being addressed is the Home Grown/Club Developed ratio.}

8.) 28 Jun 2021 16:21:29
No problem with Jones being used to fill the spot that Wij has left.

With the club already having a tight budget I just don't see the sense in spending 50/ 60 mill euros on a player to replace someone that is essentially a squad player. I'd expect someone of that fee to be a starter.

9.) 28 Jun 2021 16:54:23
Is Salah going to be offered a new contract? If not he need's selling ASAP . If Shaq, Origi and Minamino are going to be sold, then of course we need a replacement rotation player.

{Ed002's Note - There is no need to give him a new contract. Haervey Elliot can be used.

10.) 28 Jun 2021 17:08:19
It's a tricky call. We have midifielders who are nearer the end of their career than the start - Milner, Henderson and even the Ox (if he stays) . I suspect that buying an 'expensive' midfielder - €40-€50m - would probably mean that Naby is leaving. Not for that sort of fee (duh! ) but a relatively decent fee.

I don't doubt that Jones is seen as a part of the future midfield, but we don't seem to have anyone else who could form part of Klopp's next first 11. So rumours like this make sense to me.

Whether its Gravenberch or Neuhaus or Bissouma or someone else, I can see them coming this window. Just my view though, I'm as far from ITK as you can get!

11.) 28 Jun 2021 19:09:47
I agree Zed we definitely need a midfielder, if we don’t sign one at some point in the season we will be caught short.

12.) 28 Jun 2021 21:13:40
You’re not wrong Mark, If we lose both Fabinho and Henderson for any period of time we’re in trouble as was shown last season, the remaining options aren’t good enough to compete.

13.) 29 Jun 2021 01:39:07
I'm not sure on on Jones, young so plenty of time to develop but not sure he's the answer yet. We need a 15 goal a season jobby.

14.) 29 Jun 2021 15:20:43
Marty we haven't had a 15 goal midfielder for years, Jones need his chance, he looks forward and we have missed that, boring side to side isn't for us.

15.) 29 Jun 2021 20:06:50
Thats why we need one mate but happy for jones to get a chance.

16.) 30 Jun 2021 07:12:03
We need a goal scoring midfielder. We don’t have that and Gini never provided that. Jones won’t provide that and Shaq and Minimino will likely leave. Bring Coutinho back.

17.) 30 Jun 2021 08:47:38
Ed why no reason to give Mo a new contract when he is down to his last 2 years? I thought it started becoming risky at this stage?

{Ed002's Note - He is 30 and no longer the future of the club. Why would the club commit to paying him further when they need to be looking to the next generation.}

18.) 30 Jun 2021 12:14:42
I hear that but surely then its time to sell, rather than letting him leave for free? . He won't get another big contract if he waits 2 years, so now is the time?

19.) 30 Jun 2021 15:52:02
Klopp is over 5 years here. In his time here when have the club had a "goal scoring midfielder"?

20.) 01 Jul 2021 01:57:34
There is no reason why Jones can’t go on to become a good goal scoring midfielder. He gets in the right positions so with a little more experience he should get goals.

But I agree for next season he can’t be expected to perform the job at a top quality midfielder.

Embolo is a beast, if he had an end product he’d be dangerous.

26 Jun 2021 13:55:56
Hi Ed,

Just read an article that we have enquired about mbappe from psg.

Is this true do we have any intrest and money to buy him.

Thanks.

Hegde

{Ed002's Note - They are teasing you.}

1.) 26 Jun 2021 14:57:00
Thanks Ed.

That helps.

2.) 26 Jun 2021 15:41:27
How in gods name is anyone actually thinking we could afford mbappe, his wages alone are astronomical and would cause a massive knock on effect with players like salah etc. We're having to offset over 100m in losses with no guarantees of when fans are back and people are actually believing this rubbish.

3.) 26 Jun 2021 17:00:54
Mbappe will never play for us. EVER. It’s almost as funny as when that scam artist Duncan Oldham (remember him? ) kept saying we were going to sign Zidane.

4.) 26 Jun 2021 17:42:00
He will. Wasn't it spelled out on here last night how it would work? It's on lads.

5.) 26 Jun 2021 18:04:37
He's on 400K a week allegedly. No chance, nada, nowt, not happening.

6.) 26 Jun 2021 19:18:27
Told yis😉.

7.) 26 Jun 2021 19:21:01
There are two chances of it happening. Bugger all and even less. Purely financial.

8.) 26 Jun 2021 19:59:48
Cant Rule it out forever, we might sign a 37 year old mbappe one day!

9.) 26 Jun 2021 22:01:13
Aren’t PSG offering him a €750k a week contract as well to try and keep him? Not sure we could/ would offer even half of that.

10.) 26 Jun 2021 22:16:16
Sure if we ask all nicely, he might take a pay cut.

11.) 26 Jun 2021 22:24:26
Haha jadon. tell you what, if Mbappe signs I'll donate £100 the Ed's charity of choice.

12.) 26 Jun 2021 22:29:33
We're signing M'bappe . get in.

13.) 26 Jun 2021 23:26:17
Donate it to me, make it up to me for having to listen to all the accountants on here😆.

20 Aug 2017 20:18:15
Hi ed,

Is there any bid or approach from Liverpool for ox.

Will arsenal sell.

Thanks.

Hegde

{Ed002's Note - As far as I know LFC enquired after his availability. Arsenal are trying to avoid selling him.}

1.) 20 Aug 2017 21:00:14
Do you see us actively trying to sign him over the next week or so?

{Ed002's Note - Klopp likes him, so perhaps.}

2.) 20 Aug 2017 21:14:52
Hopefully Chelsea will buy him, there's absolutely no logic in us signing another utility player.

3.) 20 Aug 2017 21:05:30
Does he have an Arsenal contract offer on the table, Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - He has not had an acceptable contract offer made just yet.}

4.) 20 Aug 2017 21:23:55
Except we are lacking in that department at the moment.

5.) 20 Aug 2017 22:04:13
JaYox, what department are we lacking in that he plays? We're well stocked for wingers, he's not a number 10, he's not a centre midfielder and he's not a full back,

6.) 20 Aug 2017 22:09:16
Obviously don't know what's gone on behind the scenes but don't really understand the lack of approach or leaving an approach to this late in the window when it's a player that klopp has seemingly wanted all window. Surely would have made more sense to put a bid on the table and open a dialog before the season started.

7.) 21 Aug 2017 00:31:46
I'm pretty sure we only have 3 senior wingers? Mane Salah and Kent? Yes Woodburn can play there but he's seen more as a CM, Coutinho can play there but who's knows what's happening there. Firmino, Sturridge and Origi can play there but all are ineffective so by signing Ox we get a player who's versatile and experienced so for me I'd like us to sign him.

8.) 21 Aug 2017 06:38:28
He would replace Ryan Kent.

{Ed001's Note - no he would not.}

9.) 21 Aug 2017 07:06:00
I don't get this idea that he's versatile? He's an ordinary winger, he's awful in central midfield, he can't play as a number 10 and he's ok as a wing back (which given the fact we don't play with 3 centre backs is a moot point) . Given our shortcomings in centre of midfield, central defence and Pipco's imminent departure, it's a signing that makes zero sense as it's not a priority.

10.) 21 Aug 2017 08:47:28
Even then, if he doesn't go, we're left with a player that simply doesn't want to play for us any more, Klopp has alluded to the fact he isn't injured and is refusing to play.

11.) 21 Aug 2017 13:43:26
I don't see how sighning a young english versitile player with a work ethic like his could be a bad thing. and he's talented. We could end up playing 60 games this season.

12.) 21 Aug 2017 13:53:50
Decimus totally agree. He's also experienced in the CL so could be useful there too.

13.) 21 Aug 2017 14:27:46
How is he versatile? He is woeful in centre midfield and he is a very very ordinary winger?

{Ed025's Note - im with you mate..

14.) 21 Aug 2017 16:01:07
He's decent

He's fast

He's strong

He will only get better

He looked decent the other day

By the way this is how to make a post (basically copying how Maca does it .

Then type your name here even though it says it at the bottom already .

15.) 21 Aug 2017 17:34:10
Ox will not improve the first team and what is grujic, chopped liver? Rather have him coming off the bench in the midfield than the ox. People also have short memories, the ox is very injury prone, we already have two in the squad, would not seem logical to add another.

16.) 21 Aug 2017 19:06:15
21 Aug 2017 16:01:07
He's decent - no

He's fast - yes, but doesn't have the brains to make it count.

He's strong - to degree, but he's also injury prone.

He will only get better - he hasn't got

He looked decent the other day - but also looked hopeless playing in a central position. His goal scoring ratio is really poor.

By the way this is how to make a post (basically copying how Maca does it . - pfft. Plagiarism,

17.) 21 Aug 2017 19:37:00
And if doesn't work out in a couple of years we can use him as bait for the inevitable bid on a saints player.

18.) 21 Aug 2017 22:28:40
I wouldn't sign the ox, wouldn't improve us on the wings as for CM, we are packed with them.

19.) 22 Aug 2017 00:38:24
We still lack quality in CM, yes when Lallana is back we get a good player back and when window shuts Coutinho will have to start playing etc for World Cup. Still think another CM is needed, depth was our downfall last season. For me CM (Keita or Goretzka), VVD for CB and Ox for wing.

Hi Eds,
Is goal keeper adrino adan a taget for Liverpool . are we looking to get in a new gk.

Thank you
Ynwa:)

Hegde

{Ed002's Note - I assume that you mean Real Betis' Antonio Adan who returned to Spain after citing problems settling in Italy. He has certainly attracted the attention of scouts from a number of teams this season with Southampton, Marseille, Sunderland and Newcastle all paying attention. I am not aware of any Liverpool interest but the club will certainly be looking for a replacement for Bogdan in the summer and Adan would give Mignolet a better run for his money. Adan would also be much cheaper than ter Stegen who seems to be the one the supporters want. Marseille may drop their interest in the light of something going on in the background. If Sunderland were to be relegated then I would discount them. What I don't know is if the player would want to leave southern Spain for England.}

1.) 17 Feb 2016 13:38:49
If he didn't settle well in Italy he is going to really struggle here as the game is more physical, from what I have seen of him he doesn't look any better than what we have. I would hope we go for someone who is actually top quality and not an "also ran".

Hi Ed,

Did winaldum not sign the extension because of the length of the contract or was it issue with respect to wages.

And do you belive hendo is in a similar situation.

Thanks.

Hegde

1.) 19 Jul 2021 21:54:14
Absolutely no issue with our captain. He is going NOWHERE😃.

2.) 19 Jul 2021 22:24:08
It was many issues, Klopp trying to sell him. Klopp not playing him v Barca, Gini not being guaranteed to make the first 11 going forward, length of contact etc.

3.) 20 Jul 2021 12:44:40
Naby has never played really well. He’s a shambles in every game.

4.) 20 Jul 2021 14:15:21
Hendo will get his contract. No course for alarm BUT that won't stop some on here going after FSG for not giving Hendo a new contract cos well, got to dig out the owners whenever the chance arises.

5.) 20 Jul 2021 15:34:17
Yes the huge new pay packet in his recent move gives no indication to Ginis main motivation. I thank his for his consistency but let's not pretend this was not about cash when he signs for PSG in a farmers league compared to other options of a better standard albeit on less ££££.

30 Jun 2021 12:55:06
Hi Ed,

Is it true rafa signed for everton.

Just can't belive if this is true.

Thanks.

Hegde

{Ed002's Note - Sure.}

1.) 30 Jun 2021 13:00:35
I hope they give him a chance. I don't see the big deal. In Italy Lippi has managed both Juventus and Inter, As has Conte. Ancelotti has managed both Juventus and Milan, all considered rivals, why can't it happen in this country? Also there have been many players who have played for both sides. It seems all the negativity is over one tongue in cheek comment made many years ago.

2.) 30 Jun 2021 13:11:52
Mourinho Chelsea and Spurs.

3.) 30 Jun 2021 13:22:33
bigbaz those clubs are not in the same city as one another is the only point id make but I can't see anything but a lose lose situation for Rafa. Taking the pay off/ money out of the situation if and when sacked he will have lost support from a number of LFC fans and tarnished his reputation here also he loses two games on the bounce and he will be hounded out.

I personally don't mind as he is great for our city and without poking ed25 Everton are not exactly a threat to our goals.

Strange one but he's a great man but for me a poor decision.

4.) 30 Jun 2021 13:58:22
I think it is perhaps considered more of a regular thing in Italy for managers and player to ply their trade at a number of rival clubs. Bonucci, Pirlo, Stam, Crespo, Ronaldo, Nesta and Vieri are just some of the elite players to have played for Italy’s top clubs.
That said, though I frankly can’t stand Everton, especially in their current guise, I wish Rafa well as their manager. He’s no longer the elite manager he was at Valencia and Liverpool, but he’s still more than a match for all but the best coaches in the game. Everton should be thrilled to have him.

5.) 30 Jun 2021 13:59:09
True they may not be in the same city but I could see the same thing happening if he was about to be named man United manager. Everton need stability, Rafa I think will have something to prove and will be there for the long haul given the chance. Whereas you see it as lose lose I see it the opposite. His legacy is set with Liverpool and given the chance I think he can build one with Everton.

6.) 30 Jun 2021 14:23:30
Do you not think his legacy with Liverpool is tainted? I don't as i've said but I speak to plenty and the majority is of the same thinking but many do now see him as written off from our history with this move.

In terms of being given a chance I think we can all agree given the reaction from the fans his chance will be short and limited unless instant and sustained success if forged unfortunately for him.

7.) 30 Jun 2021 14:33:46
Matt Busby played for both Man City and Liverpool ( where he was Captain) and went on to manage Man United. There are plenty of other examples of former players and managers who have managed ‘rival’ teams through their career.

8.) 30 Jun 2021 14:58:23
Jkh1983 really? I'm surprised at that. Each and all are entitled to their view. Personally speaking it will take much more than becoming manager of a local rival for me to forget what he did with the club. Of course I agree that it will only take a few bad results before their fans start to grumble but on the flip side if they can see progression then the nay sayers will slowly vanish.

9.) 30 Jun 2021 15:33:41
Bigbaz, Ancelotti did not coach Inter and even said that he had to turn them down this summer before they went for Simone Inzaghi.

Also, Conte never coached AC Milan either so easier for him to go to Inter having coached Juve. Same with Ancelotti going to AC Milan after coaching Juve. The comparison is false.

10.) 30 Jun 2021 15:50:58
I know Ancelotti hasn't managed Inter, but Juve and Milan and especially Inter and Juve consider each other rivals.

11.) 30 Jun 2021 16:08:25
OK Olired if you take the italy comparison away, there are still numerous players who have played for both Liveroool and Everton. It's not like this is the first time someone has gone to Everton after having been successful with Liverpool earlier in their career. For me his legacy won't be affected any more than it was when he went to Chelsea. He left Liverpool a long time ago. He thinks he can do a job for Everton so good on him.

12.) 30 Jun 2021 20:25:10
Bigbaz would you be happy if Klopp joined Everton in a few years because I wouldn’t. That aside, I’d never want Rafa back as a manager so good luck to him.

{Ed0666's Note - why would klopp joining Liverpool be an
Issue? He’s won the European Cup and a league after 30 years surely he has earned the right to manage who he wants? That includes United.

13.) 30 Jun 2021 20:34:40
IPC12 I get your point but yes, if Klopp joined Everton in the same manner as Rafa has done then I would think the same, thanks for everything and all the best. It would have been the easiest thing in the world for Rafa to join them and take cheap digs at us to gain some brownie points. But he hasn't. I get why some people are upset but for me he's not done anything to tarnish his reputation as a reds legend and in the unlikely scenario of Klopp joining them in a few years, neither will he have.

14.) 30 Jun 2021 23:15:55
Does not include united no way.

{Ed0666's Note - why Dezy?

15.) 30 Jun 2021 23:56:39
Managers are professionals just like the players, so I don't see the issue with Benitez at Everton. Why are players allowed to put on the colors of rival teams and not have their legacies ruined if they continue performing well? Ronaldo Phenomeno played for both Milan teams and for both Barcelona and Real Madrid. Eternal rivals. Who questions his loyalty, commitment, skill and ability in the game?

It's not like any of us are placing the bread and butter on his plate, is it? He's been gone 11 years already. Yet, people are expecting eternal loyalty from Rafa. How about you, today, let him choose where you should be working? Make the loyalty reciprocal.

Managers are as much employees, like players, and should be able to choose their employers. Fanatical support is one thing. Sentimental tribalism is another.

16.) 30 Jun 2021 23:58:50
Yes Baz many a fan on both sides see the negative in the move its going to be a bumpy ride but let's see what the man can do.

09 Jun 2021 20:24:24
Hi ED,

Can you please help summarize what exactly can we expect from this seasons transfer in terms of incoming players.
Thanks.

Hegde

{Ed002's Note - I would rather not.}

1.) 09 Jun 2021 21:17:48
I’ve had better rejections from the mrs 😳.

2.) 09 Jun 2021 22:02:02
A forward is a priority and a midfielder is of interest, but seemingly everything from this point onwards depends on outgoings. Not much more to it than that i don’t think.

3.) 09 Jun 2021 22:11:49
That’s about the size of it AW. I thought we needed a lb but the Ed’s say we have that position covered now. Konate can play rb and Nico is improving. So that leaves the midfielder and the forward player. If we only brought in only one more top player I think we would be ok.

Sales are the key now it seems.

4.) 09 Jun 2021 22:17:21
Acered I must have married her sister mate🤷‍♂️.

5.) 10 Jun 2021 09:50:12
All this could be considered evidence barry mate 🤣.

6.) 10 Jun 2021 00:27:55
Ed why not?

{Ed002's Note - It has rather been done to death BV. There was a huge amount of abuse aimed at me by Liverpool supporters over Project Bigfoot and the attempted breakaway.}

Any update on the transfer season in terms of coming possible arrivals.
Please reply.

3.) 16 Jul 2019 19:11:57
