Hi Eds
Not a MOTD reaction, and I know its been mentioned previously, but is Lanzini an option once PC jumps ship?

{Ed001's Note - we have shown no interest previously.}

1.) 08 Nov 2017 08:51:13
He is way too inconsistent to join us now IMO. Would have minded buying him if it was two years back. We are at a point in our development stage where we simply have to buy much better players than him or see all the work put over last few years go to waste. Just my opinion of course. I might be wrong.

{Ed001's Note - that is why he is still at West Ham, that inconsistency.}

2.) 08 Nov 2017 09:27:15
He's decent at best, I have never understood why some people think highly of him. I'd rather give Woodburn his chance then sign Lanzini. I know we will be looking for a replacement for Coutinho but then we are talking names like Lemar, Draxler, Meyer etc. I don't know if Meyer is an option? Lemar is probably Arsenal bound, Draxler a bit too injury prone for me.

Ed001 what do you think of Hakim Ziyech mate? From what I have seen he looks pretty damn good but not seen him tons and I don't know what he's like as a person.

{Ed001's Note - I have not seen much of him either to be honest.}

3.) 08 Nov 2017 18:03:43
I still think Insigne would be the best replacement for Coutinho.

So here I am again with another feeling of dejavu. WTF. why does this always seem to happen to us, or is it because I don't really pay too much attention to the other clubs?

I'm referring to the fact that we are on the eve of final, and the build up AGAIN is all about our best players leaving or staying?

Is it just me or is this actually a recurring theme?

1.) 26 May 2022 09:39:24
I don't feel the build up is about that at all apart from maybe on this forum. For me, this doesn't feel like years gone by in that the Mane and Salah situations really aren't that concerning for me. I genuinely think Klopp has done such an incredible job, I am at ease knowing that whatever happens, the club will be fine, whereas in previous years, losing one of our star players you just knew it would set us back massively. Not so much these days.

2.) 26 May 2022 09:41:23
Salah said he's staying and we always knew that Diaz was Mane long term replacement, chill your beans.

3.) 26 May 2022 10:31:00
Klopp was pretty clear about it. There's no point talking about contracts whilst we have been playing a game every 3 days since January. I get the feeling that Sadio and Mo aren't worried about it right now either. The rest is just noise prior to the biggest fixture in world football.

4.) 26 May 2022 10:36:37
Players will always stay and leave.
It's probably having more impact on here than it is in the camp.
Let's hope our good players turn up on Saturday and try not to worry about next season and the season after.

5.) 26 May 2022 10:49:08
It's because the final is at the end of the season, which coincides with the transfer window opening.
Whether we're in a final or not there is always speculation at the end of the season that our best players are leaving. Salah has been leaving for Real Madrid every summer since he signed according to some on here.
All harmless speculation and quite funny to read.
Even funnier when some try to convince themselves that they really are ITKs only for it to blow up in their faces.

6.) 26 May 2022 11:08:42
The season has finished and it’s transfer window media frenzy time.

It’s brilliant fun - millions and millions of words that are about 90% I’ll/ mi-informed and that are generally mis-interpreted. My favourite are the discussions about finance and the comprehensive armchair coaches critiques of players most of whom the coach has never seen play live.

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year” as the song would have it.

Pull up a chair, pour yourself a drink and enjoy the show.

7.) 26 May 2022 12:14:29
There will always be a beloved player leaving I learnt a long time ago it is nothing to stress worry or even be upset about as they are quickly forgotten and someone always steps up and takes there place. The only player I can ever think who would have been irreplaceable was Stevie G or maybe at the moment the back bone of our current team VVD and Allison. I fear no one else leaving as it is not the player but the club that creates the magic it cannot be found anywhere else no matter how hard you try. Anyone can succeed at Liverpool just give your all and you will be lifted to heights you probably never even imagined.

8.) 26 May 2022 12:18:23
Salah is a plonker. On the one hand he says i'm not talking about the contract as that's selfish and we need to concentrate on the team and the game and on his other hand he goes ' I'm definitely staying next year. ' I don't care about the semantics, the guy is a liability in front of the cameras and on social media and is a complete attention seeker. Great player mind and hopefully scores in champions league along with Jota.

9.) 26 May 2022 16:41:39
His contract runs to next year.
Get off his back, WM.

10.) 26 May 2022 22:01:17
WarMachine, what are you blabbing about? He was asked a question and he answered it saying he wasn’t going to talk about contracts sndctgzt regardless, he was staying for next season. What were you expecting him to say? Get off his back, bro.

11.) 27 May 2022 05:50:12
Get a room you two 🤣🤣.

20 May 2022 06:39:56
OK. Conundrum time.

Does Salah play in Sunday in an attempt to secure the golden boot and risk aggrevating his injury. OR

Does Salah rest and ensure his 100% fit for next weekend.

1.) 20 May 2022 07:11:20
Knowing salah he will play both games. Help us win.

2.) 20 May 2022 07:12:49
If he can play he plays. We can win the league!

3.) 20 May 2022 07:20:43
Salah has had enough time to secure his golden boot. His fault he missed sitters and a penalty. if he demands to play and potentially miss the final then shows his level of selfishness imo.

4.) 20 May 2022 07:22:55
If there is any injury to aggravate then he won't play. Its not worth the risk.

5.) 20 May 2022 07:30:05
The form he's been in lately suggests he might not score anyway, but it all depends on whether he's recovered properly or not.
If he's still feeling anything at all from the injury then he doesn't play. Success for the team comes before success for the individual.

6.) 20 May 2022 07:33:40
If he’s fit then he plays. The physios wouldn’t let him play if he didn’t pass a fitness test!

7.) 20 May 2022 08:13:03
Spot on, Longthing76. They have the information at their finger tips. If he plays then, that means they gave Klopp the green light. It's that simple.

8.) 20 May 2022 08:38:48
Seen 2 stats yesterday.

Salah has 0 open play goals and assists in 13 Cup final appearances.

Origi has never lost a CL final he’s played in.

Well if that’s not written in the stars I don’t know what is.

But on a serious note if everyone is fit I’d like to see us start full strength in both and Salah walks into my full strength side hands down.

9.) 20 May 2022 09:04:34
Not a chance he will play and nor should. He would need his head tested to risk aggravating his injury and miss the CL final. Golden boot is irrelevant.

10.) 20 May 2022 09:10:53
How dare Salah not have the golden boot wrapped up by the final day, and to have the absolute cheek to miss a penalty aswell? In fact he's just been a terrible signing full stop! my god😆.

11.) 20 May 2022 09:19:26
I’d give everyone who we intend to play in the CL Final some game time against Wplves, if fit. I don’t think that means they should all start though and I think, as has been said, the medical team will have the word on if players are ready to play against Wolves.

@RedScarface, nobody said Salah is making demands. The OP suggested Salah would risk aggravating an injury to win the golden boot. It doesn’t work that way. If he is cleared by the medical team to play then it’s the coaching staff’s call on if he plays or not. If he isn’t fit the decision is the medical team’s. None of the players pick the team.

12.) 20 May 2022 10:04:37
Salahs current form doesn't guarantee goals I'm afraid.

If he's fit he'll play. If he's not, he won't.

Simple as that really.

13.) 20 May 2022 12:22:19
The team that starts on Sunday starts the final. Barring knocks in training or during the wolves match of course. Madrid are Madrid, huge club full of prestige but let's face it put the teams next to each other and we are much stronger. Full strength on Sunday and what will be will be then full strength next week and play the team and not the occasion and these amazing players bring home another trophy minimum.

14.) 20 May 2022 12:08:14
the way he has been playing for almost half a year now, he may be better coming off bench lol
haha if he is fit enough then I am sure he starts.

15.) 20 May 2022 12:30:36
Golden Boot? The League is at stake. We need to pick a team to win and hope City drop points. If he's fit enough, he should play.
Son can have the Golden Boot, for me.

16.) 20 May 2022 12:47:28
Fook mo and his golden boot he's shouldn’t even be arsed about it! He should be out saying I want titles not individual accolades! He’ll
Be as bad as arry kane.

17.) 20 May 2022 13:32:54
I think it would be best if he could get a full rest before the final and maybe turn up against Madrid with his legs fully rested and with fire in his belly. He has looked fatigued both mentally and physically pretty much the whole calendar year. Jota on the right should see us get the job done.

18.) 20 May 2022 13:53:04
Salah. Bench I reckon.

19.) 20 May 2022 17:21:45
Origi lost the CL final against madrid🤷🏾‍♂️.

20.) 20 May 2022 18:19:02
Salah should play for me. he needs a goal or two desperately. And if he can't get them against wolves he could be dropped for final.
Greatest player around. but he's struggling now. we can't have any passengers against Madrid that's for sure.
But yeah he plays.

{Ed0666's Note - he won’t play against wolves I hope not anyway need him fresh for the final.

21.) 20 May 2022 22:13:22
Bring him on for the last 30 mins, with us a couple of goals up and just tell him to go out and enjoy himself.

22.) 20 May 2022 22:17:08
I think what may happen, if Salah is fit, is to bring him on in the second half. Get his heart pumping fast for about 30 minutes or so. And then get him ready for the UCL final. We have others who can help get past Wolves with a win.

23.) 21 May 2022 07:04:05
Akira check the line up mate. Origi wasn’t in the squad against Real when we lost 3-1.

18 May 2022 06:53:12
Hi Peeps.

So I've been grappling with this thought in my head for the past couple of weeks. Please understand I'm from South Africa, which is thousands of kilometers from the town that belongs to me beloved LFC, so I might have a completely incorrect view of a certain Stevie G.

Whilst a legend of my club, I've read quite a few times on this site, that Stevie is not all that he portrays himself to be. In short, he can apparently be quite a douche.

With that being said, is it even possible that he might be THAT guy, and be sour that he never won a league title with LFC, that he might actually not try to draw or beat City?

I would like to think not. but I had just to ask.

1.) 18 May 2022 07:06:19
Even if he is a bit of a muppet sometimes, nobody has ever been able to question 2 things.
1. His love for Liverpool
2. His will to win

Gerrard would go all out to beat Man City on Sunday even if it had no bearing on anything because he quite simply doesn't like losing.

2.) 18 May 2022 07:16:24
Whatever he is like as a person, he is definitely competitive and so i can't see him lying down.

{Ed001's Note - Gerrard is extremely competitive and he does love Liverpool.}

3.) 18 May 2022 08:43:19
He’s the manager of AV he will want to win for them first anything else is a bonus!

4.) 18 May 2022 09:24:50
No way on this earth is Gerrard going to allow himself and his Villa team complete with Danny Ings and Tyrone Mings (LFC fans thru and thru) team to roll over for City. He is going to do his best to get a result not just for LFC BUT most of all for his own Villa career moving forward cos next season, he is going to have to improve a whole LOT than what we have seen this season. Hence as much as he will do everything for us to get the PL title, he is also auditioning for the Villa heirarchy, IMO.

5.) 18 May 2022 10:20:49
All our eggs are In one basket that Gerrard wants to beat Villa for us to win the league but once that whistle goes there’s not a great deal he can do to effect his players effort levels or performance.

One factor we might have overlooked is the majority of that Villa squad is Grealish’s mate so do they want to see their mate win the league over a club that is associated to their manager or even better some of those players might have a little bit of the Green eyed monster and don’t want their mate or former team mate Grealish to win it and that might prove to be a bigger factor in their performances on Sunday.

Just a thought.

6.) 18 May 2022 11:24:46
Our hope is that if Grealish has been a snob at AV, they will give him a hell of a game

Then again, the players could already be in flip flops

We’ll see.

7.) 18 May 2022 12:16:57
Jk23 mate Gerrard can do a lot coz he's the one who is going to play a system which gives better chance for Villa to win.

Lets hope he parks the bus and counters them coz it's crazy how Laporte and fernandinho Cross the midfield line to support city's attack leaving so much space behind especially fernandinho who's not a CB naturally.

8.) 18 May 2022 12:21:19
Gerrard is extremely competitive and I think he would want us over City. He’ll be sending them out to get a result. Make no mistake about it.

9.) 18 May 2022 12:30:34
Kopforever I get that mate hence why I said once that whistles goes.

---------Wrong Page-----------

10.) 18 May 2022 16:56:47
Thanks for the responses peeps.

This could end up being a really special season.

Loving this ride

Keep the faith.

15 May 2022 14:30:56

Moyes Miracle in London.

1.) 15 May 2022 14:39:10
Ongoing. Believe!

2.) 15 May 2022 14:50:57
Bowen has only gone and scored twice. That lad is a very decent footballer. Could easily do a job for us.

3.) 15 May 2022 14:51:21
We have got to bang goals in for fun.

4.) 15 May 2022 15:10:45
If we win the league we must sign Bowen as a thank you to him. Hope he gets a hattrick or more.

5.) 15 May 2022 16:03:02
Realistically we weren't going to claw back that goal difference. Before today, the most likely way of us winning the league was if City dropped points in their 2 remaining games. Now we need Stevie to do us a favour and get a draw at the Etihad.

14 May 2022 06:50:00
Good morning to all you beautiful people who support the best club in the world. our beloved LFC.

Here's hoping we can make today 2 out of 4 so far.

Whatever happens. let's back our team and our club. what an amazing journey we are experiencing

Good luck LFC

1.) 14 May 2022 07:37:27
Happy cup final day guys. Sadly as I've been shafted by work, I'm due to finish my shift then back in at 8pm so I can't enjoy it as much as a lot of you can.

2.) 14 May 2022 10:25:04
That's no good, bigbaz.
But remember those words "you'll never work alone".
I'm at a party tonight with a family of City fans, so we need to win. To be fair, they're ok and old school City. The ones that can discuss football reasonably and maturely.
I hope I still can after several beers!

3.) 14 May 2022 10:33:19
Not sure who's got it worse really Rigsby.

4.) 14 May 2022 10:48:48
"Reasonable and mature" football fan? Wow, it's been ages since I met one. 🤣.

5.) 14 May 2022 12:11:59
I too have been shafted by family and social commitments, so will the game. Will be supporting in silence, so make some noise for me, everyone who gets to watch it!

6.) 14 May 2022 12:14:09
Fans, ArAy; plural, mate 😂.
They've been City fans since the old third division days, so they know their place.
If we get beat I can always get drunk and tell them what it's like to win the European Cup. I could always get really boring and describe all six.

Hope the shifts not too bad and you can celebrate tomorrow, bigbaz.

Look at the LFC "fans" once more being the almighty know-it-alls and already writing off Adama. shame on you lot.

Let's just enjoy the ride with Klopp whilst he's here and let's see what he, and the coaching team, is able to do with Adama. IF he joins.

I don't see Nat Phillip's and Davies being our centre back options. too inexperienced

I see 1 of Henderson or Fabinho partnering either Phillips or Davies, allowing the other to move into midfield

The good thing here is that we have options.

Thank you RIGSBY and STONE

WTF is wrong with some people.
What a fantastic season, so close to winning all 4 but we walk away with 2.why is that seen as so bad? I think that's hugely successful and bloody well done by everyone at the club

We don't need supporters like some of you.

Thank you KLOPP, His Assistants and the Players. what an amazing season. We go again next season
