I haven't seen us look so tame. It was almost like watching the stoke match last season. There was no ambition, no penetration, no organization. It's like all Rogers does is to select the team, and ask them to improvise. We should just let him go and start rebuilding, the sooner the better.

If purely feels like he just tell them to play. There is zero method in how to open up teams and it's been like that since the first game bar Arsenal because they for some reason were nervous playing us. but i'm happy we got a reality check this early we needed it because it means we have to now work on these issues and not avoid them because we get a few lucky 1-0 wins.

2.) 31 Aug 2015 11:19:14
After 3 years and over £300 million spend, I would like to ask Rodgers what the hcek he has been doing.

3.) 31 Aug 2015 15:27:18
He`s busy being LFC manager in name only with not a sausage to his name.

14 Aug 2015 11:15:21
Hello, Eds and Reds. I'd like to ask, If Rodgers does well this season, taking into account all the back room changes, will your opinions on his managerial ability change?

Jax

1.) 14 Aug 2015 11:38:04
No, he's spent 300 million so he bloody well should be competing!! A good manager enabled a club to punch above their weight (Rafa at Valencia, Simeone at Atletico). Rodgers is like a noose around our neck

2.) 14 Aug 2015 11:57:35
For me no,
After reading down the page, a part of me is happy because we haven't forgave him yet.
I was a bit skeptical to post my views on him as I didn't want to be perceived as not backing the manager, I can't support him I've tried to give him the benefit of the doubt.
I don't know if I have high expectations of LFC and the club in general, but would any other club (not just the top four clubs) be happy if their manager spent over £300million, alienated players, forced long servant players out the club?
and not had any return? We made top 2 finish in his 3 years he's been here.
I really don't want to get people annoyed with my views, but this is my opinion, I've got really good expectations for Liverpool and Brendan fails to live to them expectations, i do believe he's in over his head. and I do believe his ego and his 'philosophy' will cost us greatly.
I really do hope he can prove all doubters wrong, but in a ideal world if he won the league, i doubt I'll still have much faith in him, especially with how he deals with players, promising them the world at LFC and given them nothing but false hope and empty promises. I think it'll have a major impact on our future targets, if he's still at the club.
The Lucas and ilori situation, really rubs me up the wrong way.

My apologies for the rant.

3.) 14 Aug 2015 11:58:48
It depends on whether he learns from his mistakes, what kinda football we play, and how he uses the squad.
I'd love to see some attacking football, quick, direct passing and for us to totally dominate teams, and for him to actually give players like lucas, ilori, sakho, ibe and the youth players their fair chance.
If he buys a Gk in January it'll be nice Too.

4.) 14 Aug 2015 12:05:36
Jax

Define ". Does Well. " This club should be competing for titles with the money spend and not 4th place trophy.

5.) 14 Aug 2015 12:46:28
Koppette9,

That is how an anti-Rodgers supporter should express their opinions. Of course I disagree but I like your style.

6.) 14 Aug 2015 12:49:30
Personally I think O'Driscoll's experience will help influence BR and the team as the season progresses. YNWA

7.) 14 Aug 2015 13:06:13
I agree WiseLFC and have said similar myself elsewhere, but if we do 'well' as a result, who will get the plaudits, Brendan or Sean/Gary for turning things around?

{Ed001's Note - he is the manager, he carries the can and should get the plaudits in that case, as they are his coaching staff.}

8.) 14 Aug 2015 13:10:37
this seasons team is all BR's and he should be judged at the end of the season , after what he has spent we should be in the top 4 but last season he never get there so how long do the owners put up with his BS , he is doing wrong in the way he is treating players , the players he is treating bad want to play for liverpool but he is such a air head he does not get that a player get down when they don't play so in training they are not doing their best because they know whatever they do they won't play any onther manager would see this and sort it out but not BR , this makes him a bad manager ,ive always thought a decent manager would get more out of our squad than what BR does . the owners don't see this because they believe the drivel what comes out of BR's mouth , let's hope he gets lucks this season and we get in the top 4 ,

9.) 14 Aug 2015 13:21:07
so he literally can't win then can he essex?

10.) 14 Aug 2015 13:24:47
Kopette9,

No need to apologise, totally agree with everything you said, I wish I can express it the way you did.

11.) 14 Aug 2015 13:35:39
If he gets 5th place he gets slated if he gets 1st it will just be said he should of done due to the money he's spent so he's in a no win situation.

12.) 14 Aug 2015 13:59:58
The Brendan Rodgers to do list:

1) Keep both feet on the floor and firmly away from ones mouth.
2) Seek professional help in regards to his addiction for purchasing midfielders.
3) Ask his squad broadly what position they each play so he can he remember when selecting his team and or making substitutions.
4) Request FSG purchase a thesaurus so he can discover any other words in the English language that could replace: "character" in a sentence.
5) Identify those keys weaknesses in his squad and pledge a sworn oath to Satan that he will never address the same.
6) Remember, style before substance. Apart from the football, and in that case don't worry too much about the substance either.

13.) 14 Aug 2015 14:43:25
A combination of things need to happen. BR needs to concentrate on managing the team, not the media. He also needs to stop tinkering with the team week in week out, as most of his expermiments accross the pitch have ended in failure. Importantly, he needs to decide who is best CB partnership is and try to stick with it even through the difficult times. If its Lovren alongside Skrtel give him an extened run in the side. Also we clearly need a DM, it seems Can is the favoured choice. However, I'm not certain he's ready to play such a pivotal role in the side. I see this as one of the most important postions on the pitch. It's a very disciplined role and Can does have a tendancy to wander out of the postion, as he did when he played at the back. Cleary Can will need time to adjust and learn, this is why Lucas has to remain at Liverpool for at least another season to help Can and pass on his wealth of experience. I hope Lucas will continue to serve us well this season both on and off the pitch. Also, Sturridge has to play up front with Benteke. I know BR prefers to play a lone striker but I think both of them up top would be formidable and strike fear into opponents. And yes, I think they can play together. Lastly. and this is key to the team; I expect O'Driscoll to breed confidence throughout the squad, hopefully nervy home encounters will be a thing of the past! Added to confidence, he will get the players thinking for themselves and expressing themselves. Both these assets will hopefully create a winning mentality and the plaudits won't just lie with BR! YNWA

14.) 16 Aug 2015 14:11:17
Brock so the three years prior, this was not BR's team yet he is the one buying all the players and has the final say and veto authority with the commitee, right? If you believe that, I have a swamp in Florida I'd like to sell you.

I get that we won and getting 3 points is cool. But that doesn't change the fact that we were not so good. If Rogers was in his first or second season, I'd have been over the moon with this result. Unfortunately, that's not the case. He's in his fourth season, and is still making the same mistakes. He changed the game alright, when he brought on Can. But why didn't he start the game to begin with.?What if Stoke scored us before then? Every team needs a DM. It's not rocket science. But we have badly played with one since he came and doesn't look like he's about to.

Jax

1.) 11 Aug 2015 12:49:47
You say he makes the same mistakes but fail to mention what those mistakes are. I don't know when so many people become such experts on football management but they come on here and instead of saying it is an opinion they have they make out as if it is a fact that they know better than our manager

{Ed001's Note - and you never explain your opinion either, so what makes you so special? All you do is say the manager knows best, when that is simply not true, which is why his coaching staff were shown the door and why we struggled all last season. His choices are questionable, as shown by our results, so try explaining why you think the choices he makes are good, instead of just saying they must be right because, even though the performances are shambolic and he is alienating players, he is the manager. Shanks and Paisley got our faith because they earnt it and deserved it, not because they were the manager.}

2.) 11 Aug 2015 19:04:23
Red since 64, I stated the problem clearly in that post. If you can't read, don't bother commenting.

10 Aug 2015 11:06:22
I hope Rogers doesn't keep experimenting with the Henderson/Milner Midfield pairing, because it won't work, like we saw yesterday. It should always be one of them and one of Lucas/Can.

Jax

1.) 10 Aug 2015 12:23:33
Hearing multiple reports of Lucas falling out with BR. Yet to confirm. BR prefers Can and Allen in that role.

2.) 10 Aug 2015 14:52:26
But EG, a little bit down the page you were saying we only had one DM(Lucas). It's as if you think Can is a box-to-box player because that's the role you'd like him to play. Thankfully you're not the coach and he is a registered DM. I also like Allen in that role. He really helps the defense to midfield transition.

3.) 10 Aug 2015 15:05:18
We will eagerly await your confirmation of said fall out then Harry.

4.) 10 Aug 2015 17:16:33
Welsh

Ed01 has replied it on the rumor page.

{Ed001's Note - I did not say it was a fall out, I said Lucas was unhappy, big difference.}

I think its obvious that Sturridge is struggling with this system and its affecting our play as a whole. So till he picks up his game, Sterling should start in front for me.

1.) 22 Mar 2015 16:51:19
I think Borini would be a better foil for Studge, but BR has alianted the lad, shame really as he does give 110%.
Not the greatest but defo tries.

Honestly, I was just thinking the same. He is easily better than most of our midfielders.

1. For it has to be Messi, they way he dribbles past opposition is just a joy to behold.
2.Best performance will be Suarez vs Norwich, 2013/14 season. I'm sure Paul Ruddy, was happy when he left.

I think how well Sterling is doing in Man City shows how much difference having a good coach with a clear tactical plan can improve a player's performance.
