Calm Down Boys and Girls.

1. Strange Times with teams not having much time to prepare for a new season (and the internationals in midweek)
2. Our defence won't always be so sloppy.
3. Bobby will find his scoring boots.
4. We weren't great but we still won.
5. another 37 games to go.

With ya mate but we are too leaky very nonsialant at the back, hopefully just rusty .

2.) 12 Sep 2020 20:13:11
I think the issue is at Dm. Klopp obviously concerned by starting Hendo there. But when fab came on, I don't think Leeds scored. Or really had a chance. And he's available to knock it about the opposition third, which he does well. He gets involved.

We looked much steadier when he came on. We need him to find some consistency as he was massive last season. We've conceded a lot less goals since he signed.

3.) 12 Sep 2020 21:50:57
Spot on, Robbie. I also think like the OP said, the team lack fitness and lack of fitness leads to lack of mental fitness which leads to poor decision-making. The decision-making was poor ALL over the shop today. Our front 3 were pretty disjointed and Mane and Bobby were poor in front of goal, for sure. Happy we were determined to get the win BUT we have to improve.

One for banter or discussion page if the eds may allow.

Get away from all the doom and gloom of corona-virus and suspended sports, use the internet for what its good for. connecting with people

So fellow Reds, where are we from?

ME East Yorkshire, England. I know there are posters from around the world. Any from Maine USA? that's one of my favourite parts of the world and I've probably only seen 0.05% of it.

KSG

{Ed002's Note - A good idea to distract matters and get away from the same issue being raised over and over. So if I must, I was born in Bellevue, WA and grew up in the San Francisco Bay area but moved from there in 1981.}

1.) 13 Mar 2020 14:21:57
Sweden.

2.) 13 Mar 2020 14:22:01
Barnehurst in Kent.
Done my youth in dirty Dartford. Far enough way to get away from the smell but still local enough.

3.) 13 Mar 2020 14:36:47
I know Barnehurst, been to the barn a few times.

4.) 13 Mar 2020 14:46:32
Bray Ireland. i've lived in greystones now 3 years and am saving all my pennies into moving right back to bray ASAP.

5.) 13 Mar 2020 14:51:03
Lisburn, N. I, I live in Nottingham with my partner at the moment. I miss back home mind.

6.) 13 Mar 2020 15:05:30
As the name suggests, Chester.
Moved about a bit and lived in Leeds, Southampton and Melbourne, Australia at various times, but the beautiful North West of England dragged me back.

7.) 13 Mar 2020 15:26:05
Spent some time in Chester a long while ago, Nice place. I was working in Runcorn and for some reason the powers that be decided digs 20 miles away was the best option.
Dartford, been through the Dartford tunnel a couple of times, but that's about it.
Unfortunately the only time I have spent in Ireland is at Dublin Airport for a connecting flight to Boston, USA.

Sweden is a place I wouldn't mind visiting, if my lucky numbers ever came up, I'd do a tour of Europe, are tour of Australia and New Zealand, before emigrating to the US (though recently I have considered New Zealand an option) . All pipe dreams though unfortunately.

8.) 13 Mar 2020 15:26:40
Inverness, via Kilmarnock (birth) and Glasgow (by choice) . Moving up in the world, at least geographically!

9.) 13 Mar 2020 15:33:51
As the name suggests I originate from Cornwall (Ed 002's favourite place on earth) but now live in Essex.

{Ed002's Note - I am in Cornwall as I type this.}

10.) 13 Mar 2020 15:48:52
Cornishmendoitdrekly.

🤔Why would you move from Cornwall to Essex 😆.

11.) 13 Mar 2020 15:46:20
I have also spent time in Scotland working (in short bursts) . The borders, Coasts and North are lovely, but the central area I didn't like.

I got lost once and found myself in Craigneuk, which was possibly one of the worst places I have ever stopped, and I have relatives in Pishy Wishy.

Would like to visit Inverness and then go further up and do the Northcoast 500.

12.) 13 Mar 2020 15:59:43

26.) 13 Mar 2020 18:00:14
Toxteth.

27.) 13 Mar 2020 18:52:00
I am from Serbia and became LFC fan back in 1990.

Just for curiosity, you would be really surprised how many people here are lifelong LFC fans even though out of 3 players from my country, 2 of them (M. Jovanovic and L. Markovic) were probably among top ten worst signings ever, while one (Grujic) might not even get an opportunity to show why he was signed.

Cheers.

28.) 14 Mar 2020 03:41:46
Cork city, Ireland.

29.) 14 Mar 2020 03:52:22

Great reading guys.

Belfast, Ireland born and bred.

11 Mar 2020 18:53:18
I have seen this on instagram and in a couple of other places.

Which player would you like to score the goal that seals the premier league title.

My first choice would be Henderson, he's been the driving force on the pitch.

if not Henderson, what a way it would be for Gomez to score his first goal for Liverpool.

KSG

1.) 11 Mar 2020 19:16:17
I second that KSG: I would like to see Jordan Henderson score the goal to win the Premier League.

2.) 11 Mar 2020 19:22:37
If it's at home, with the way things currently are, I'd go with Firmino. Away from home, I'd love to see Henderson clinch it with a screamer.

3.) 11 Mar 2020 19:26:15
Stevie G.

4.) 11 Mar 2020 19:50:10
Henderson or Trent for me.

5.) 11 Mar 2020 21:00:37
Jordan Pickford own goal.

6.) 12 Mar 2020 01:19:26
Hendo of course but trent would be fine.
I don't care if it comes off guy Mowbray's mic.

But I think it'll be mane or ox. Don't get why the ox came off today. He was brilliant.

{Ed0666's Note - Adrian

7.) 12 Mar 2020 13:21:46
No argument from me - Hendo all the way! If we're going with 'first goals' I'd throw Minamino into the mix too - he's looked good in fits and starts and I think a goal would really help him, especially such an iconic one.

8.) 12 Mar 2020 13:24:39
Minamino. Instant legend.

Eds

could you say how reliable/ accurate is transfermarkt. co. uk? are the players values accurate around the mark?

I know players can get bought/ sold for a more or less then they are worth, just wondering if its a good indication of current value.

I've only just started looking at it to find out more about players LFC have or are assumed to have shown interest in.

KSG

{Ed002's Note - They add their best guess for the values. No more than that.}

1.) 11 Mar 2020 10:23:10
I think the CIES Observatory is like, the standard.

{Ed001's Note - still little more than guesswork. }

2.) 11 Mar 2020 12:59:22
They should list down the player prices in the amount of toilet roll and hand sanitizer bottles you can get in exchange. It would mean something more.

3.) 12 Mar 2020 00:49:23
Obviously impossible to be perfect as every value is variable but I think they offer a pretty accurate opinion based on form, age etc. One thing I don't think they use is contract status though, i remember seeing Christian erikson valued at 90mil or something before he moved to inter despite his contract running out.

{Ed001's Note - it is nowhere near accurate, contract status is one of the biggest deciders in value. It is just like saying FIFA ratings are accurate, they simply aren't.}

4.) 14 Mar 2020 04:16:24
Yeah I agree that not using contract does take away from the players real worth. But asides from that and if you were to take each player on a hypothetical identical contract length then the values imo aren't terribly false. Of course everyone has different perspective and I do think many players are rated too high and many too low but I'm not sure any other databases would deliver much more accuracy, obviously contract statuses aside.

I think we should keep him at the club, He's not going to make it with us if he never gets the chance. Also we have a full season to congest into a shorter period than normal, increased risk of injuries and so more rotation will be required, he should be able to get plenty of game time.

I think you're wrong there Ed002. I have it on good authority that on Tuesdays Klopp likes to take an early lunch and read Tatler articles to Naby. Andreas the fitness guy is always trying to pinch Jurgens specs, but on Tuesdays between 11 and 12, Jurgen gets Virgil to pretend to sweat, leaving Andreas baffled and therfore leaving Jurgens goggles alone.

I would either pop into the near future to rig myself a nice large euro-millions lottery win.

Or 20 years into the past and tell myself - "take the job! "

If you want a better answer then I'd pop back to 033Ad and check out this Jesus Story.

Oh no. Ed. did you lend Robbie Fowler your time machine? did he pop back to the year 000 and have a fling with a bird named Mary?

Have to agree with you Ed001 about Bobby.

Play him in a deeper role, his link up play is excellent, he has all the tools to be a creator in the middle. And knows how to win the ball back.

So are you saying if a striker gets concussed you can bring on another striker, but you if its a goalkeeper you can't bring on another goalkeeper?

The ref barely looked at the monitor, he'd made his mind up and was not changing it. He was never in doubt, which he should be if VAR ask him to review the incident.

the V. A. R should firstly not be controlled by other referees themselves (especially not the dross referees we've seen in the prem)

The VAR should also be able to tell a referee, "Look, you have made a mistake, its not a penalty"

But what do we do. the game is ran by Cretins from top to bottom.

KSG

{Ed001's Note - Arsene Wenger, whose role with FIFA involves overseeing things like VAR, has said that VAR should be placed into the hands of specialist operators, rather than match officials. So, fingers crossed, we should see that change made soon.}
