Apparently we have one of Klopp's eyes on Nico Williams of Spain/ Bilbao in the WC.

Killer2

1.) 18 Nov 2022 14:59:18
Assume you mean Inaki Williams?

{Ed001's Note - it is his brother.}

2.) 19 Nov 2022 06:36:11
Ah, then I apologise! Know nothing of him clearly….

{Ed001's Note - we were discussing him on the last podcast oddly enough. I think he could be one to watch in this tournament, if he gets a chance. Knowing how it works in Spain though, he would need to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona to get a chance.}

3.) 19 Nov 2022 11:33:28
Ridiculous thiago hasn't made the squad but pleased he can get a rest before we kick on when the proper football restarts.

4.) 19 Nov 2022 11:07:21
Will look out for him Ed. What position does he play and what kind of player is he?

{Ed001's Note - he is a winger mate, very pacey.}

5.) 20 Nov 2022 14:46:21
Maybe a long term replacement/ competition for Mo then Ed?

{Ed001's Note - maybe.}

05 Jun 2022 23:31:22
Nico Williams will have a breakout season next year

Forget the narrative and just watch.

Killer2

1.) 06 Jun 2022 06:57:56
I agree, just not for us! I hope I’m wrong as I think he’s great but unless TAA moves into midfield which I can’t see happening I don’t see how we are convincing Neco to stay and play second fiddle.

2.) 06 Jun 2022 08:14:17
Neco will be sold.

3.) 06 Jun 2022 09:08:13
Good player neco has improved greatly from the last euros. would be perfect back up for trent but I can't see him staying as back up now he's got taste of 1st team football. Wouldn't be accepting the reported 10m fee tho, worth more than that imo.

4.) 06 Jun 2022 11:07:38
Unless Ramsey is better than Neco i'd like to see him stay. We were always told people stay as squad players at other clubs because they challenge for trophies. Well we've just challenged for the lot till the end of May so there's no reason we can't have our Zinchenkos or our Alonso's. Saying that"if"Ramsey is the dogs bo$@! x then Neco's obviously moving on.

5.) 06 Jun 2022 18:29:42
It would be a massive shame to lose a player after the many hours and hours that LFC have spent on him as a player.

I'll put it out there, I think he is a better prospect than Curtis Jones and a proven international. Way more direct and actually improving as a young footballer.

23 May 2022 18:41:25
Do we have any interest in Ruben Neves?

Only 25 and improving by the game.

Killer2

{Ed002's Note - No I think Liverpool will look to keep Fabinho.}

08 Jul 2021 12:26:28
Hi Eds, I read that we were mentioned going in for Saka last year. Any truth or complete tripe?

He is some player and one I imagine Klopp would love to work with.

Killer2

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 08 Jul 2021 12:33:37
Cheers Ed2, that was about as quick as he is.

2.) 08 Jul 2021 13:52:38
Saka is considered untouchable by the Arsenal hierarchy - they would not entertain any offer for him unless it was ridiculously high. Xhaka has almost finished finalising his move to Italy and Bellerin is likely to follow to either Spain or Italy. Arsenal is unlikely to need the money but they are looking to move on Aubemayang as well.

3.) 08 Jul 2021 14:20:33
I would imagine that Saka to Arsenal is a bit like TAA to us?

4.) 08 Jul 2021 14:57:39
lol, I didn't say Saka TO Arsenal. Fabrizio said in his program that the Arsenal hierarchy would not entertain any offers for him. He's generally very well informed.

5.) 08 Jul 2021 15:38:10
That's what I meant, Reynard.

That Saka means as much to Arsenal (being a young and exciting prospect) as Trent means to us. Therefore its going to be extremely difficult, nigh on impossible, for any team to prize him away.

Ergo, Saka is to Arsenal what Trent is to us - untouchable.

6.) 08 Jul 2021 16:51:26
Definitely a quality talent. Think he would only move if we met Arsenal’s demands (unlikely) and whether he would get the same - if not more - game time (again I think this is unlikely unless we shift one of the wide players on) .

7.) 09 Jul 2021 00:41:36
We should all know by now that if a player wants to move there's not a lot a club can do to stop it. Delay it maybe but players will get their move if they really want it.

8.) 09 Jul 2021 13:00:06
I am not really sold yet on Saka. Everything I have watched him play, I have not really seen what's so special about him. If I am to take someone from the Arsenal team, then Smith Rowe would be the one. This lad is special and I see him doing very well in our team.

I know he ain't ED1 standard, but I think Timori is worth a look tonight.

Killer2

1.) 10 May 2023 20:16:03
I actually like Tomori.

2.) 10 May 2023 20:17:27
Inter Running through him like he’s not there.
Barella on the other hand, that’s the player We need.

3.) 10 May 2023 21:44:56
If only L8 we seem to favour mount, mcallister for that role . I sound like a broken record but ugarte is the priority then concentrate on the rest.

4.) 10 May 2023 22:03:28
Has not done well at all tonight. Milan's defense was all over the place.

5.) 11 May 2023 00:02:59
Tonoli always looks creative in a team full of fossils.

12 Sep 2022 16:27:06
Tomorrow is massive. A general malaise - path!

ManCity sold 2.players who would walk in to our starting 11 over the summer and they are flying.

Excuses are not allowed!

Killer2

1.) 12 Sep 2022 16:45:54
And who’s place would them two players take? If they going to walk in.

2.) 12 Sep 2022 17:12:41
Well seeing as salah has been terrible so far, how about replacing him so he can realise he isn’t untouchable?

3.) 12 Sep 2022 17:19:00
At this very moment in time, if we were playing Fantasy Football, we would have a front 3 of Diaz, Jesus and Sterling.

4.) 12 Sep 2022 17:28:00
We got enough players in the squad walking around this season already. We don’t need another two ?.

5.) 12 Sep 2022 17:55:00
Sterling! Has anyone actually watched Chelsea play this season?

6.) 12 Sep 2022 18:18:33
Zinchenko as a midfielder (which he plays for his National side) would’ve been the perfect midfielder for us, so I’d say 3 from City.

7.) 12 Sep 2022 18:30:58
Tomorrow is tuesday.

8.) 12 Sep 2022 20:18:00
Thunderbird, have you watched Salah this season?

9.) 12 Sep 2022 20:50:24
Not sure if it’s ever been mentioned on here but any insight on how Klopp chooses which players do the pressers with him?

Was Matip today. Is it just a simple case of players taking it in turns or something else? Always wondered.

10.) 12 Sep 2022 21:54:54
The sooner people realise we are not City the better.

11.) 12 Sep 2022 23:18:14
So let’s compare them this season then in BPL and and remember Liverpool have been atrocious.

Jesus compared to Firmino
Both have 3 goals and 3 assists and Firmino has played 1 less game.

Sterling compared to Diaz
Both have 3 goals. Sterling has 1 assist played the same games

Hardly record breaking is it. I’ll give you Zinchenko he probs could of been utilised here very well.

12.) 13 Sep 2022 08:48:43
Spot on, Rigsby. People seem to think cos we are competing with City hence, we are at the same level as them as should be spending what they spend on players and all that. That is wishful thinking.

As an Arsenal fan told a City fan in a podcast who tried to make it look like we spend the same way thy have been doing trying to draw some false equivalence, "City isn't competing with Liverpool. Liverpool is competing with City". People (like the OP) would be wise to know the difference instead of drawing false equivalences/ comparisons that literally do not exist in reality, IMO.

{Ed025's Note - get over yourself oli and stop bitching over Man City. Your like them dick heads who key a neighbour’s car because he can afford a nice new one and you have to make do with what you have. Grow up and be grateful for what you have..

13.) 13 Sep 2022 11:35:16
Totally agree 025. We’re among the biggest spenders in the league and that should be enough of an advantage. After that, it comes down to ambition, hard work and desire ON THE PITCH . If spending money meant guaranteed success then City should hump us every time we play them. And Everton should be playing Champions League footy tonight ?.

{Ed025's Note - spot on IDOG. It’s about coaching and not just buying for the sake of it (see jack grealish). There is also immense satisfaction when you can turn a run of the mill player into a guy who looks comfortable even in the CL mate (see Robbo)..

14.) 13 Sep 2022 18:47:47
what on Earth is the BPL?

02 Sep 2022 13:03:13
Our fullbacks are dross at the minute (Robbo for more than that) .

Trent's attempted. pass on Wednesday and jogging back for the MANU opener are not the result of the opposition tactics.

Robbo looks spent and has done for the last 6 months.

I wonder if a change of formation is required.

Killer2

1.) 02 Sep 2022 13:36:02
What formation are you suggesting that takes our full backs out?

In my opinion, Robbo and Diaz just haven't got the dynamic that him and mane had yet, I get the impression that Diaz wants the overlap all the time, whereas Robbo is staying deeper.

On the other flank, I strongly believe Trent is struggling with Elliott playing on the right. Him, Elliott and Salah all seem to be wanting to play in the same place. I would put Elliott on the left of midfield for a while, mix it up a little.

2.) 02 Sep 2022 13:54:52
Robbo and Mane had an excellent partnership and it’ll take time and maybe change in their game to get it.

Robbo used to get a lot more balls into the box but when he did he would usually have Mane, Jota and Salah in the box to aim for. When he looks up now Salah is extremely wide and Diaz I not too far away from him asking for the ball to feet. This has taken a lot of Robbo’s attacking game from him.

I do agree though that both full backs haven’t started well this season and this might be an unpopular opinion but I’m more worried about Trent (who I’m a massive fan of) as his demeanour seems to be of that of someone who doesn’t really seem bothered this season.

Robbo is an easy fix because we have Tsimikas who can step in. Trent however will continue to start until Ramsay proves he can step in.

3.) 02 Sep 2022 14:06:42
Robbo’s refusal to overlap was driving me insane against Newcastle. We looked much better when Tsimikas came on. If anybody is going to get dropped it should be him. Both of our full backs seem to be constantly stood in no mans land at the moment, I can’t tell if it’s personal application or tactics or a bit of both, but whatever it is I don’t like it one bit. It’s one of the biggest reasons why we look ineffectual in attack at the moment.

4.) 02 Sep 2022 13:33:58
Keep wondering, Klopp won't do extreme changes. certainly not the magical 3 at the back people always come out with when were in a sticky patch.

5.) 02 Sep 2022 14:30:40
Robbo's decision making has been poor but I can't fault him for lack of effort. And in a merseyside derby, I'm reluctant to throw Tsimikas in given how physical everton will be.

JK, I'm completely with you. I'd still play Trent but his lack of effort is worrying me. Not just in the United game but at Newcastle he gave the ball away at one point and just walked back as Newcastle were on an attack. Felt like that was the reason JK subbed him. Hopefully he fixes up as he's still our best playmaker.

I don't think we need a drastic change in formation. Just a matter of players finding form and showing that desire they've had over the last few years.

6.) 02 Sep 2022 14:35:58
Robbo started last season very slow as well if you remember, people looking for Tsimikas to come in ahead of him and then Robbo kicked on, maybe it's something to do with pre season for him, I don't know.

7.) 02 Sep 2022 13:33:58
Keep wondering, Klopp won't do extreme changes. certainly not the magical 3 at the back people always come out with when were in a sticky patch.

8.) 02 Sep 2022 14:44:10
The way we play for me. we're killing them 2. Expected to attack and then get back to defend also. Some work rate over the last 4 yrs that. Midfield hardly helping them out too now.

9.) 02 Sep 2022 17:31:42
Ease up over robbo the lad does some
Running has been ever present for us too!
He will be back to his best 2mo!

10.) 02 Sep 2022 23:43:12
AW, I disagree. Tsimikas has been just as bad as Robbo overall, imo. All our fullbacks are not playing well right now and I’m pretty sure they esp Trent, know it as well. They just have to keep working hard and improving. With time, it will get better.

31 Aug 2022 17:21:45
Michael Olise anyone?

Serious talent with PL experience.

Killer2

1.) 31 Aug 2022 17:34:22
He’s more of a winger/ attacking midfielder and we’re not short of those.

2.) 31 Aug 2022 17:48:35
Not at 20.

23 Aug 2022 21:46:17
The malaise started last season. l, but we rolled with it.

I was laughed at for backing Neco Williams - no backup worth their salt pushing him

I suggested Neves of Wolves
;laughter again. I know which one I'd have starting.

You lot need to pull your heads in.

It's a squad game.

Killer2

1.) 23 Aug 2022 21:57:31
Ok killer let’s see what happens at end of season. Your crystal ball was amazing….

2.) 23 Aug 2022 22:35:20
What happens at the end of the season is we finish 9th.

3.) 23 Aug 2022 22:48:12
@Killer, to be fair, some of us, well me anyway, are still laughing.

Ramsay will be better than Williams and Neves wouldn’t get unywhere near the team even with the injuries we currently have.

4.) 23 Aug 2022 23:28:16
killer, we all have suggestions that get laughed at. some of us got throttled on here for suggesting we need to strengthen the midfield. It happens on a banter site and it's all good; unless it gets personal, then that's another thing. keep posting thoughts and suggestions.

5.) 24 Aug 2022 00:51:28
West Derby, Neves would clearly be a better option than any of Keita, Ox, Milner or Jones. And certainly more capable of filling in at defensive midfield than either of Henderson or Milner, delude yourself all you want but the results speak for themselves. If our midfield was as great as you think we wouldn’t be three games in without a win.

6.) 24 Aug 2022 05:34:19
It is a squad game. can you imagine if we didn't have so many midfielders in our squad? dang we'd definitely suck then.

7.) 24 Aug 2022 08:07:41
Has anyone seen Ramsay play? . I can’t confess to seeing much of Aberdeen last season.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do though. All the best to Neco, he didn’t make it here but I’m sure he’ll go onto have a decent professional career.

8.) 24 Aug 2022 09:55:13
@JK23, I suspect the Liverpool scouts and transfer team have watched him play once or twice, along with the Aberdeen fans who were on this forum full of praise for him before we bought him.

9.) 24 Aug 2022 10:08:25
Faithinworks, you could have our three cardboard cut outs as our midfield in those games and they couldn’t have done worse.

10.) 24 Aug 2022 10:51:08
Let’s hope it wasn’t the same scouts that watched Naby then. As he certainly doesn’t fit into the super fans agenda.

I'd buy Rice, play him in CDM for a few years while the youngsters from academy come through or kick on, then move him back to partner Konate as a CB.

What about Fikayo Tomori as an option for CB? Plays on the left of a CB pairing or a back 3.

I know Maguire keeps him out of the England squad, but that's on Southgate.

Lampard got the best out of him at both Derby and Chelsea. The others have ruined him and nothing seems instinctive any more. Personally I don't think he is the answer.

As for Trent, he needs to start putting a shift in as and when required.

Mount wants a huge wage and is not sure of his best position.

Gallagher runs around a lot wanting to play all the positions at the same time and offers nothing else.
