Afternoon Ed's. I know since the great season we had and then the amazing finish to it all in Madrid all us fans are massively enthusiastic and optimistic about things. the club owners did little to dampen that enthusiasm by stating it was hard to take losing by 1 point to city and they will back him to bridge the gap. my question/ s are this
Are they planning on the sought of backing we are hoping for or is it more of a case filling gaps in the squad. I know there will be out who will need to be replaced in Simon and Sturridge, moreno etc . are we really looking for the marquee signing type of as I said before more squad fillers and will it be a case of the outgoings happening first before we make movement?

Appreciate that ed002 I've not been on here in a long time. I've tried to blank out the transfer hysteria as its sucked me in way to many times.
So if you have mentioned things to do with what I've asked I can only apologise but I've not seen them.

Ed002 has repeatedly given hints not to expect fireworks in this transfer window unless the likes of Salah leaves wich is also looking unlikely but anything can happen.

With PSG looking to offload a few don’t be surprised if they come in for Salah. Question is would he go for the payday that would bring or stay for the glory?

Pecker, Salah wants to go to Madrid, it has been made clear.
Not going to happen in this window and whether it will happen next season is another story after Madrid laughed off his demands when his agent approached Madrid.

From what I've been hearing is that we are actively looking to bring in an attacking/ creative player who is versatile enough to playing an AM and across the front 3.
Problem is finding the right player that not only suits our style but most importantly won't upset and create problems amongst the squad and disrupt the harmony JK has built with the players we already have.
JK has shown in the past he won't sign people just for the sake of it and will wait till he can get who he is after . That being said i wouldn't expect a marque name.

What he lacks in paces ed0333 he makes up for with intelligent movement . Real good footballer that lad is and would thrive in the prem i think.

Pre season results aside its more about getting lads upto pace trying different systems or different playere in different roles etc. The results aren't so worrying for me . What is worrying and this isn't a knee jerk reaction is, we got fortunate with are front 3 over the last 2 seasons with them being relatively injury free and not serving many if at all any suspensions. if we lose mane, bobby and even salah to a certain extent for any period of time this season we are going to be in a world of pain .
Brewster looks like he will develop into a player but its going to take time . big divock is not the answer, he's useful at times from the bench, but when he starts he always looks way out of his depth.
I know the noise coming out of the club is we are actively looking for a versatile AM who can play in the forward line of 3 if needed, but if we don't bring someone of better quality in than divock we struggle at times this year as i see all 3 of them forwards suffering from flat patches/ burn out and niggles this year.

I'm all for optimism like the next fella . But realism need to be used. I'm more than fully aware we can't just spend like it's a game of monopoly, but we don't strength in this window and make us stronger and better in departments that needed it then we won't close that 1pt gap that was there at the end of the season, Brewster may well step up but it's a lot of pressure to put on a young kid to pick the slack up if our front three aren't firing (I would like another to help carry that burden with him ) . The owners stated at the end of the season that we would close that 1pt and the club will do all it can to do that. I can't help but feel for us to perform like we did again without adding will be a tough ask especially with players coming back late and will no doubt suffer some sort of flat tired burn out at some stage of a a season is a ask to much for us ( ox yes is one, llalana body can't be trusted to not buy in my opinion he breaks down to often for my liking and maybe playing Milner or a kid at LB if needed isn't really strengthening to close that gap in my opinion. and before you say it I'm not wanting 6 marquee signings but think we need some sensible ones that will really help us throughout the season )
