If anyone wants a good laugh head over to the Man U page. Some fans are saying which players in the PL currently would improve their squad if they can get them in. Some of them have said PICKFORD would be an upgrade on DDE. How deluded are these guys getting!

1.) 10 Aug 2022 22:39:29
In all fairness I get all the laughs I need on this page these days.

2.) 10 Aug 2022 23:15:13
Thunderbird, nothing we could come up with could possibly be as funny as the idea of Michael Knighton coming back in for Utd some 30 years after his original attempt. Presumably there's nothing in it, but it's still hilarious.

Wonder will he run around the pitch doing keepy-uppies again?

3.) 11 Aug 2022 08:14:19
More chance Michael Knight and KITT will buy them ?.

4.) 11 Aug 2022 08:24:53
I saw that list and thought I’d stumbled on to the Newcastle page, some good players in there but the majority were for teams trying to get in the europa not top four.

Looks like they will boycott our game too, I think it’s about to get a lot worse before it improves and I feel ETH is going to get caught up in the firing line between the fans and the board. Not because he’s a bad coach but the atmosphere is going to turn very sour I feel and no manager can succeed in that scenario.

5.) 11 Aug 2022 14:57:10
Problem for ETH is he needs to replace so many players in the team that it will take years to achieve this, and board and fans won't give him the time to do this. The fans think they are due success because they are Utd and the board and transfer team are so poor that they don't even have a strategy. If you look at Liverpool when they went through this, new owners once they started to grasp the concept of PL football went looking g for the right men to run the various sections and backed them. It's fair to say we rarely make a bad buy and players are now well paid, with a manager who buys into the concept of how the owners want to run the club.
Yes we have made mistakes along the way with Hodgson etc but have learned from these mistakes moved on and improved.

09 Aug 2022 22:56:53
Ed1 Leighton Clarke does he have a future? I’m from Aberdeen and was at the game at weekend his goal was sublime. He’s to good for Aberdeen but good enough for LFC or a loan to get him into the window for moving on next year?

{Ed001's Note - that depends on this loan spell really. He has done enough to put himself in the picture and give himself a chance. Now he needs to grab it by performing week in, week out on loan. It is a pivotal year for him.}

1.) 10 Aug 2022 08:16:26
He'll be doing well if he can understand them up there!

2.) 10 Aug 2022 09:38:22

3.) 10 Aug 2022 12:02:46
ach its aberdeen where more broadly spoken than our weegie counterparts. he will be fine. Once he gets stuck into the local delicacies the accents will be the least of his worries.

07 Aug 2022 19:37:45
Got to love the mancs. Been on their page today pre and post loss. Pre loss they where in for an easy win this was there season. Post loss sack the team the manager the owners.

Then the even more deluded conversation. The Man U team of 2008 was the greatest ever? Wtf and that city and LFC have it easy and that team would of destroyed both city and LFC and won everything. The only reason they didn’t hit 99 points was because they didn’t need to but was more competitive? Ehhhh if love some of that there smoking over there just now. Pmsl.

1.) 07 Aug 2022 20:11:40
Guarantee one thing, they WILL be back! When Klopp goes we will be rubbish again.

2.) 07 Aug 2022 20:31:41
If things continue the same for United like last season ten hagg might have taken the worst risk of his career.

3.) 07 Aug 2022 20:41:12
Like the last 3 time Eredivisie winner who took a chance in England, gone by the Autumn.

4.) 07 Aug 2022 21:20:36
Th new dawn at Utd is a long way off and they are now looking at Mitrovic as the answer :)
Bruno, Rashford, Maguire, Fred all on big bucks and are a far from top level. Pereira looked a 10 x better player yesterday at Fulham than he did at Utd. The place seems cursed!

5.) 08 Aug 2022 07:50:53
Seriously, who cares about Man United, they are average at best and are still n feefall. Do we really need to discuss them on the Liverpool site?

{Ed025's Note - when it’s poking fun at them…yes .. ?

6.) 08 Aug 2022 11:57:24
Looks like we’ll need manU to keep our minds of this terrible season we’re apparently about to have ?.

7.) 08 Aug 2022 12:16:51
Is anyone really surprised they lost to Brighton?

{Ed014's Note - not at all and looking at their next 7 fixtures they need to get their shit together because no one in that squad has any kind of stomach or the mentality for a fight.

07 Aug 2022 14:44:20
Yesterday could be worse . We could be Man Utd

Another 45 to go but there still the same dross from last season. We aren't.

07 Aug 2022 09:06:07
Where do all these new posters come from after a poor performance? Settle down guys 37 games to go. First game of season always brings strange results.

1.) 07 Aug 2022 09:45:24
It’s mental how we drew yesterdays game because of Matip.

Everyone else played well and we should have scored 6 by all accounts.

2.) 07 Aug 2022 09:52:17
The whole team weren't great, Matip was certainly not the worst defender, don't think that matters much to a lot of fans tho.

3.) 07 Aug 2022 10:28:05
some people keep blame Matip from 1st to the last game. hope Klopp will drop him out and start play Gomez regularly.

next they will blame Konate.

4.) 07 Aug 2022 10:31:37
Agreed IR, that was a collective failure rather than blaming individuals.
Nothing do with nerves, this is a team that has played in major finals and big games across Europe.
If we’d have had the mindset that the team had at Newcastle last season, it would have been fine. We expected a battle then and played accordingly.
Yesterday, I think the team thought Fulham were going to let them do what they wanted.
Fulham played the match like a cup tie and Liverpool escaped with a draw.
If it was the cup, we’d have said we got away with it and probably ruined them in the replay.
But credit to Fulham. And a rude awakening to a new season for Liverpool.

5.) 07 Aug 2022 10:51:50
Sorry what other strange results were there? It’s the p. poor application from the players, had about 4 or 5 of these games last year and it’s just carried on straight into this year.

6.) 07 Aug 2022 11:02:40
That was the worst PL performance under Klopp since the days of Mignolet, Allen, Skrtel and Lovren.

Tactics and personnel wasn’t even the real issue. The attitude stank from start to finish. Only Diaz and subs Darwin and Milly can honestly say they turned up yesterday.

7.) 07 Aug 2022 11:07:50
That was a shambles yesterday! Take nottin from Fulham felt like a loss to them!

8.) 07 Aug 2022 11:14:45
JK23 “everyone played well bar Matip”? What game were you watching. The entire back four was poor. The midfield was the worst I’ve seen them play and Bobby is confirmation he’s no longer a starter. We improved second half and whilst people say don’t overreact, in a league where fine margins are now everything, that will feel like a loss in many respects.

9.) 07 Aug 2022 11:20:58
Yes, JK23. That’s my opinion. As badly as we played we still could have scored 6 based on the actual chances created even tho, we created in chaotic fashion. Several things can be true at the same time.

And no, both CBs were poor all game and same for many others apart for the subs that came on who rescued a point.

10.) 07 Aug 2022 11:32:12
Frode I was being sarcastic because if I’m critical it means I can’t use YNWA in a comment and I’m not a proper fan.

The starting team from 1-11 were poor yesterday in their individual performances and then collectively as a team.

In the 2nd half Salah improved, Milner worked his socks off and gave us more energy, Elliot was decent and Nunez had a very good debut where regardless If he meant it or not he got an assist and a great debut goal.

Yesterday was one of the worst performances under Klopp in about 4 years but the beauty is those same players have produced hundreds off good-great performances over the same time.

Let’s call a spade a spade and say we were crap yesterday but next Monday and every other game is a different day.

We’ve got 9 injuries so the players that let themselves down yesterday will more than likely get the opportunity to go again next week.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Matip, a midfielder (probably Thiago due to injury) and Bobby drop out of the next starting line up to change things up against Palace.

Klopp was quite scathing of the side yesterday so perhaps he should pipe down.

11.) 07 Aug 2022 11:33:56
City lost the first game last season. No one was writing an obituary for them. Our team has a winning mentality so they will bounce back. However, our fans continue to live in a state of desperation. Do you guys expect us to win all games? We were terrible yesterday and still got a point. I see it as a positive.

12.) 07 Aug 2022 11:37:41
Listen at this lot, good god.

13.) 07 Aug 2022 11:48:27
It's an absolute disgrace that we didn't relegate Fulham in their first game.

14.) 07 Aug 2022 12:05:37
Everyone was absolutely sh@t from Alisson to Bobby.
Fulham will finish rock bottom.
Milner, Nunez deserve to start vs Palace.

15.) 07 Aug 2022 13:57:34
The performance was so bad that it almost becomes a positive. It is inconceivable that we will play worse than that against Palace, surely the only way is up?

Every single player that started that game was dreadful, and dreadful in such a variety of ways. Passing, decision making, awareness, physicality, composure, balance, bravery, every single attribute you would normally associate with our team was completely absent.

It was so bad that I can only assume that the team were simply not ready from pre season. That is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it means I don’t think the issues are deep rooted problems within the squad and we will probably be fine in a week or two.

On the other hand, i’m a little worried that Klopp and his staff have got pre season wrong. I can say with confidence that we are now in the midst of an injury crisis before the season has even started. Players are dropping left and right and it doesn’t look promising. I’m not too fussed about the Thiago injury because i want to see what Elliott, Carvalho and especially Jones can do, but that’s no good if Jones is injured again!

Whatever the case, I can guarantee you a new shiny midfielder would not have made an ounce of difference in that team. Would any new midfielder have started over Thiago, Fabinho or Hendo anyway? No. We drew because we were awful from front to back.

I’m hoping this can give the boys a kick up the backside for this season, as sometimes that is what you need, but I am concerned about the health of the squad in the longer term. Injuries have killed us the last two seasons, I really don’t want that to happen again.

16.) 07 Aug 2022 14:28:46
We were very poor yesterday, horrendous in fact. And I'm certainly not one to get carried away or blow up about the first game of the season. But I remember the feeling walking out of anfield on the last day of the season having lost the league by a point, again, having lost less games than city in the whole campaign, again. Draws are killing us each year and while it's the first or last game throwing away point against the likes of Fulham who city will wipe the floor with, can cost us dearly at the end.

17.) 07 Aug 2022 14:43:14
Some of these replies are hilarious and proves my poi t.

18.) 07 Aug 2022 14:44:32
I feel sorry for the guys who can't even blame Keita or Ox for this devastating relegation threatening heavy defeat.

19.) 07 Aug 2022 15:40:20
Milner Carrys on like that and he might be playing more than expected this season.
Pretty much everyone including klopp got/ did things wrong.
Let's hope we're more at the races for Palace.

20.) 07 Aug 2022 16:21:02
Hey Frode. If the standard of football on display was so poor yesterday you could always switch off and watch the England women’s team instead?

21.) 07 Aug 2022 21:17:55
exactly Salah. wonder what this lot will be saying in May when we win the title. I believe it and am not worried. I get where. people are concerned about the midfield, but we have talent and we have a great recruiting team.

A mixture between Torres and Suarez? We have a hybrid since we couldn't get the real
Thing all those years ago. If he can match and better manes goal scoring its a great move. We
Have missed someone to turn that draws into wins!

Gents let’s reconvene at the end of the season and shoot the breeze about all this stuff. Pretty petty that grown adults act like this after ONE game that last year we would of lost. My 10 year old has moved on from that result so why hasn’t any of the adults in the room.

Snappy your enthusiasm is great, but Man U are no better than last season. Your still a mess with no discipline and ETH probably won’t be there by end of season, as the Man U players like to go on holiday about the 6th august until may….
