Hi Ed’s just tried doing monthly donation, but it seems I need to set up a paypal account, will have to wait for my 9 year old to help me later, (not joking)
Quick question was thinking of doing a £5 monthly donation as think it’s similar to a subscription for something I read every day, would a monthly donation be better or a one off payment of a years worth be better for the Ed’s.

Lifelongred

{Ed033's Note - A years worth would be great

1.) 17 May 2019 20:18:09
Ok Great, wanted to know the same before I get onboard as i thought there might be a better benefit to you guys going one way rather than the other, I'll do the lump.

What a game, can’t even start to put into words the emotions during that game, but wow when the players stood in front of the fans, hearing ynwa belted out moved an autistic supporter with very little ability to cry (even at the birth of my children) to tears. Spine tingling goosebumps and tears.
A night never to forget, what a team of players not individuals but a family of immense players. Wow just wow.
Good luck Ed with the match review.

Lifelongred

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate. I might need to watch the match 5 or 6 times before I start it. Or more even. As I am not sure I can remove emotion from it on the first few watches!}

1.) 08 May 2019 09:32:36
Ed it’s not an official result until you’ve done a review mate.

{Ed001's Note - I will try and get it done today.}

2.) 08 May 2019 09:48:09
Ed01, how can you do the review without being tempted to score everyone 10.
Will try to see you remain objective, but don't envy you. Lol.

{Ed001's Note - I didn't say I would be able to resist but I am going to try my hardest to remain objective.}

3.) 08 May 2019 10:01:51
Ed001 just do it! I want to see all the emotional bias in the review! It'll only reflect how we all feel! Allez allez allez.

{Ed001's Note - we'll see.}

4.) 08 May 2019 10:43:48
I can't think of many things better to do today than to watch that match 5 or 6 times. I think after a match like that you can throw objectivity out of the window. I'd like to read the unabridged version.

5.) 08 May 2019 10:47:34
Good luck with that, Ed01. I have watched it back again and seriously, all the best trying to take emotion out of it.

6.) 08 May 2019 11:30:26
Give em all a 10 ed. That would still be objective. That was an amazing team result. Just put liverpool (all players) 10.

7.) 08 May 2019 12:06:33
Id be interested to see how you rate the Barcelona players? @ed01.

{Ed001's Note - I will try and get it finished as quickly as possible.}

how many supporters would rather we went out of Europe this year to concentrate on the title?

Personally I’d rather we went out this year, I think we have a real chance this year of the title, and if dropping out of Europe gives us a slight edge in the league I’d take it.
Wednesday game proved that it’s not about having strength in depth in the squad, it’s more about how well the other team dive or how biased a ref is allowed to be.

Just thought I’d ask others what their opinion was.

Lifelongred

1.) 30 Nov 2018 12:56:24
I'm with you mate, the league is more important right now imo.

2.) 30 Nov 2018 12:58:58
Couple of things mate. I want to win the league more than anything but we need to be in the champions league for so so many reasons, attracting top players, the financial side of progressing and the fact that European football is in our DNA. It concerns me more dropping into the Europa League.

As for Wednesday, yes there was a lack of gamesmanship from certain players and the ref wad appalling too. But that was not the reason we lost, on the night, PSG were the better team imo. No excuses.

I’m more concerned about our midfield against better teams, as apposed to Neymar plying for an Oscar.

3.) 30 Nov 2018 13:03:09
Lifelong I would like us to challenge on all fronts but am realistic enough to know that is not always possible. I don't want us to go out of the CL but if we did then it’s not the end of the world. The premier league title is our Everest as we’ve never actually conquered it and if we were to win that then it would be the pinnacle. On a separate note PSG’s antics on wed night we’re pathetic and embarrassing but that is not the reason we lost the game. We never turned up like we haven’t Away in the CL all season. We have an opportunity to put it right at home to Napoli and if we don’t I for one won’t be blaming the oppositions diving antics or the referee. That’s an easy cop out any team can use.

4.) 30 Nov 2018 13:05:12
We will qualify for the last 32 or the UEFA Cup, we’re already out of one cup I’d be gutted to be out of two this early.

5.) 30 Nov 2018 13:24:29
Yeah! But will put massive pressure on us winning the league, if we don't Win it then the season will be called failure and a lot of questions will be asked to our manager.

6.) 30 Nov 2018 14:06:26
I don't believe we can realistically finish last so we will end up in Europa league.

7.) 30 Nov 2018 18:59:23
I would much rather we qualified. Whether we win it or not.

Given that we can either qualify or (likely) finish 3rd - BTW we can finish last if we lose to Napoli and Red Star beat PSG, in which case Napoli will be top with 12 points, PSG second with 8, Red Star 3rd with 7 and us last with 6, but that's very unlikely - I'd rather we carry on in the UCL as I agree that Thursday/ Sunday will affect our league chances.

I don't think we'll win it as I think Klopp is really pushing for the league this season. I just hope Man City falter first!

8.) 30 Nov 2018 19:40:14
Personally, I want to win every game we play regardless of competition BUT that is tough to ask. Now having said that, should we go out or not go far in the CL regardless of if we get out of the group or not, we can fully focus on the PL and trying to win the FA Cup. It will be what it will be but I really hope we qualify for the next round cos I just can't stand LFC losing a game.

9.) 01 Dec 2018 12:13:38
We play the best when we play 2 games in a week. Whenever i gave seen us play after a week break they look lethargic to me- physically but more so mentally. We belong in european footy, if we lose to Napoli then we certainly don't deserve to progress. But Europa league is not the end of the world and another chance to compete for a trophy.

10.) 01 Dec 2018 17:34:34
What’s the point in qualifying for the champions league if you’re not going to take it seriously.

Winning is a habit 👍.

21 Jul 2018 09:56:27
Just wanted to say wow what a window, personally thought we had a great team already, needed to address few areas but a good team, but now we have one of bets squads around.

FSG have shown just how great they are backing Klopp as They have, with this backing to this extent now, what are the Ed’s and other posters expectations for this season?

For me we have to win a cup and if not win the league run Man City all the way to the closing day.

What does everyone else expect?

Lifelongred

{Ed002's Note - FSG are desperate for Liverpool to win the league but I think that will be very difficult - so as it stands right now, and considering what other clubs have planned, second to fifth. A loss in the QF to Spurs after a disputed penalty will end the FA Cup run. The League Cup will be a disaster with a third round loss to Brentford who score in the 94th minute (the fans will still celebrate and say that Liverpool deliberately lost to concentrate on other competitions). A respectable semi-final loss to Bayern Munich will at least leave a warm feeling about the Champions League, particularly given that Salah has to leave the field blubbering with a dislocated shoulder after a 21st minute challenge from Niklas Sule.}

1.) 21 Jul 2018 10:38:11
Are you sure about this now ed because I'm going to pop out to the bookies?

{Ed002's Note - Absolutely certain. Whilst there will no silverware this coming season I can see new Liverpool manager Joey Barton lifting something the following season.}}

2.) 21 Jul 2018 10:43:43
I’m putting a tenner on all that Ed. Latest odds are I should win GBP1,465,560, so you owe me big time if Salah gets hurt in the 22nd minute!

3.) 21 Jul 2018 10:49:12
Love it Ed. And if it did end simular to above then it would be deemed a bsd season imo.

4.) 21 Jul 2018 10:50:13
Edd2 that's actually not a bad shout. Not sure if you really mean it but it's close to my way of thinking. Hopefully no injuries though.

5.) 21 Jul 2018 10:52:05
Putting a tenner on that right now.

6.) 21 Jul 2018 11:22:47
Ed002, can you give me tonight’s winning lottery numbers while you’re doing predictions?

7.) 21 Jul 2018 11:23:03
Everything ed2 said but I think we will win the league. I think we were the second best team in the league last year and were stretched thin. I think we’ve addressed some major weaknesses and I don’t think any team has come close to strengthening as we have. I think city will be caught out far sooner this time around- it’s about now that the players start getting tired of peps manmanaging. If Chelsea keep their players or replace well, I think it’ll be them and us fighting for the title. I haven’t been this excited for the league ahead in years.

8.) 21 Jul 2018 11:37:30
Haha hmmm i think we are winning the league with 28 win 6 draws and 4 loses. The champions league we play the final against PSG and we win with a goal from Shaqiri at 87min. We play against Chelsea in the FA cup final and we win 4-0! Hat trick from Salah. The league cup we win against Arsenal 6-0. After winning the league fans invaded the pitch to celebrate with players and staff. Salah win the golden boot, Keïta win The premier league player of the year, A. Arnold wins the young player of the year award and Alisson the golden gloves. We are back.

9.) 21 Jul 2018 11:41:01
Lol trust you Walter hahaha!

10.) 21 Jul 2018 11:49:48
I think we have to start strong. A good solid start at the back for our new keeper. There is a lot of talk about letting the team gel but that never seems a problem with klopp.

I really think we will finally lift the league again.

11.) 21 Jul 2018 13:23:02
Well Ed02, just about covered it. Forget about watching LFC this season then, as it will all end in tears, lol.

12.) 21 Jul 2018 13:32:53
I would rather that Ed002 took over the job and not Joey Barton. Just ask ourselves - which one of them has the greater knowledge of football? The problem is that Ed002 is waiting for the Chelsea position!

13.) 21 Jul 2018 13:48:56
Alisson to have 3 or more assists in the premership.

Thats my outside bet for the season.

14.) 21 Jul 2018 19:57:17
I absolutely love reading Ed002 replies. Brilliant and priceless.

19 Jun 2018 11:03:01
Glad to see even the pundits are now starting to see the important job Henderson does in midfield. Wasn't his best game last night but still one of the better players.
Hope he keeps his place, when he plays well a very influential player in our team and England's.

Lifelongred

1.) 19 Jun 2018 11:41:08
He did play some blindingly good passes. Just a shame he only had Sterling and Lingard to pass it to as they’re nowhere near as good as Salah or Mane.

2.) 19 Jun 2018 11:41:53
Personally thought he was good last night, very confident, his experience shone last night, he’s England’s best midfielder, some of his long range passes were beautiful.

3.) 19 Jun 2018 12:02:16
Ok first of all this is really red tinted. He did very Ok yesterday in a very dismal England performance. he did play some good passes and balls but the number of times he got ball watching by the opposition? who will count that? he defensive work was short, esp with that English full backs that ran beyond him on far too many occasions.
Only kane was a good performance did what striker should.

4.) 19 Jun 2018 12:58:07
Here and I thought Kane did nothing and Hendo was good. subjective old game.

5.) 19 Jun 2018 13:41:16
Kane stood still and let people pass to him. Hendo was good - not outstanding, but good in a game where if anything happened in the midfield it had to be him or no-one doing it. Nothing to do with 'red tinted', he was one of the best performers of a fairly poor game and if his colleagues were half as consistent as he was yesterday then England would have been out of sight by the time the penalty was given, largely due to his releases from the midfield to get behind their back line. He did this consistently up until their defense decided to sit practically behind the goal line and not attack at all, at which point a decent manager would have changed his role as it became redundant.

6.) 19 Jun 2018 15:05:31
It isn't red tinted glasses. Henderson was great. Didn't allow Tunisia a moments peace on the ball and a decent Tunisia didn't really fashion a chance.

If sterling and linga Rd were cooler in the head we would've been 3 0 up at half time and Hendo would have been the driving force behind that. He looked every bit a champions league finalist and along with kane (makes it look easy coz he is in the right place) was our best player. Real shame that volley didn't go in, I had to rub my eyes to make sure it was Hendo, (in the words of shaun ruder) "what a hit"

7.) 19 Jun 2018 17:09:19
Stands head and shoulders over dier more mobility more accurate passing and looks like Usain bolt compared to dier.

8.) 19 Jun 2018 17:49:11
Akshit, nothing to do with red tinted glasses, could go into a big song and dance about Henderson but I don't need too for once. If Gary Neville can praise a Liverpool player then enough said.

Genuine update for all those asking the eds for updates. Not a rumour but a guarantee. The transfer so any players will be officially completed on the .

Day it's confirmed by the club's involved. So sit back and chill and stop asking the eds questions they have never answered.

Absolute disgrace.

Starting to wander what the age is of some of the posters on here
Hadn't most of the same sources for the last few weeks been saying Keita and vvd signed for us/ agreed personal terms etc?
If coutinho wants to leave then let him leave, yes he is ONE of our best players, but if he wants out why keep him? As long as we get good money for him.
We have players who should be able to step up and I'm sure there are plans in place for his replacement. As one of the eds said a few times his agent and himself have already spoke of his desire to play for Barca. I believe max Meyer was a replacement mentioned before.
For now it's newspaper clickbait.
Until it's announced its rubbish.
If he goes good luck thanks for some awesome entertainment and onto the next player. Players come and go, Liverpool will always be here.

Ghost goal, can I ask what Salah has said wrong?
Surely if any of us have learned anything being Liverpool supporters is that anything is possible, how many games have we come back from to win, big games?
Have doubts it’s possible of course but never stop believing until the final whistle has been blown, negativity breeds bad results, belief and positivity encourages a fighting spirit.
In Mo Salah’s own words NEVER GIVE UP.

As far as my maths goes, if we match or better results of teams below us we win league.

Last night wasn’t our best performance but against a Leicester team that we’ve lost points to before, on a pretty awful night for weather, with a make shift right back (who I thought did pretty well) we are still undefeated at Anfield for a long time, now an extra point ahead of city putting pressure back on them.
Last night was a freebie after city losing, we are not going to play pretty or smash teams every week, but we are taking points from games we’ve lost for years, personally I’m happy with a 5 point lead, bring on the next game.
Sit back enjoy the ride all I care about is winning the league title for the first time since I was in my early twenties, don’t care if we win it playing pretty or battling it out for point by point on a winters night.

Why does it matter who we draw?
If we are worried about who we face in the group stages then we aren’t good enough to win it, the more this current squad plays against better opposition the better they will become.
We have a squad good enough to go head to head with any team, not saying we can beat every team but we are good enough to win.
I feel more confident when we play the better teams, I think it suits our style of play.
As for games after champions league games, we have a big squad with players that should be able to slot in to allow some testing of players.

We are capable of winning The champions league and premier league, but it all depends on each game. Every team has a bad spell and the odd freak loss, I’m just looking forward to watching some really good games this season.

Big emre
Yes Owen was a good player
Yes he scored goals
But that’s it, he wasn’t good for the team and I’m sorry I remember vividly losing fowler, this was due to Owen, Owen wasn’t in Fowler’s league, hence the nick name GOD.
Owen could’ve been great, Liverpool brought him through and gave into what ever he wanted, in return he decided to not turn down a new contract but run it down to the last year, then force a move to real for 8 million plus nunez.
He’s not someone who should be mentioned in the same breath as fowler or any other Liverpool great.
Don’t car how many goals he scored he’s a little runt and that was before he played for Man U .

Didn’t Owen run his contract down, refuse numerous times to sign new contract so he could go to Madrid cheap? Wasn’t it 8 million plus Nunez?
Not losing memory now at my age but sure it was something like this, the way he left for what he did showed zero respect for Liverpool, I know for me at the time it wasn’t the fact he left, it was how he did it, can’t stand the little runt, he needs to stick to his race horses rather than spouting a load of rubbish on tv.

Lifelongred

{Ed0333's Note - He is a crap pundit for starters. He personifies boring. Micheal Owen makes Ian Wright look like a world class pundit and that’s virtually impossible. So I listened to his impassioned monologue yesterday on BT Sport and I’m livid. He basically said for the last 7 years of his career he wanted to retire because he hated playing knowing he wasn’t the same player he used to be and was petrified of sprinting because he knew he’d rip a muscle. Well I bet the Newcastle, Man United and Stoke fans are endeared to read that. He’s basically admitted that he’s stolen a living for 7 years. We fans pay their hard earned money to watch our heroes the last thing you want to hear is that. Owen would have been better off not saying anything and kept the ounce of credibility he had left in the eyes of supporters. I cannot diminish his achievements with Liverpool he was some player and it’s a shame injuries curtailed his career but as a man he not worthy of my respect for a multitude of reasons. Furthermore I really don’t understand why BT Sport persist with him he’s not engaging, articulate, has no tactical nous and looks like he’s just woken up. I bet his horses can’t stand him either.
