The link with Toulouse is red Bird own it and they have 11% stake in FSG.

Is there any word on whether Carvalho is likely to be sent out on loan in the summer? it seems strange that he was getting minutes earlier on in the season, now rarely gets into the match day squad, I know he's only a kid, but there seems to be the usual social media talk of him leaving, but I've not seen anything concrete here.

Not sure what's happening with him either tbh, thought he would have gotten opportunities but then he did play on the left of the front 3 before if I remember- we are well enough stocked there so maybe that?
Of course he could be training to play in other positions but I've no idea of what's going on behind the seasons or even how he's doing in training sessions.

There must be something wrong somewhere. I used to think that maybe it was the usual Klopp "bedding in" that we saw with Robertson and Fabinho. But Klopp started Diaz and Gakpo almost immediately. And even Carvalho got a decent run and time on the field in the beginning of the season. I just hope there hasn't been any agitation from either the player or his reps, because I can see Klopp just benching him, regardless of opportunities, as he has done with Arthur. I'd really like to see the kid make it with us.

Aray I’d love to see him get a loan next season so he can get a full season of football under his belt. He’s almost had a full season off this year from frost team football so I think he needs that over being a squad option for us next season where he gets a couple of minutes here and there.
Klopp gets criticised for his player judgment (Be it selection or transfers) and there is good evidence to back that up. But one thing I can say for Klopp is that he has not sold a LFC player yet that has gone on and proven him wrong at another club.

Very valid, JK. I don't know of a single player that has left under Klopp and done better than he ever did with him at the club.
I don't have a problem with Klopp's player selections; I want him to stay away from being the sole decider on transfers. He should provide his inputs of course, but his heightened sense of loyalty to certain players that have been bought under his watch (I'm thinking of Ox and Keita) brings in a bias that is not "healthy" in my view. And we all have biases, it's natural.
The problem with Carvalho will always be the same; where do you put a player who is ideally suited to be just behind the forwards' shoulders (No. 10) and we don't really play that way (once Firmino leaves it'll be history) . And then where do you put a left sided player on the wing like Carvalho, when there is Diaz, Nunez, Jota and Gakpo ahead of him in the pecking order? I can understand him being second choice for that spot but being fifth will never work out for either him or the club. Send him out on loan? Okay. But you've simply postponed the headache until next year when he comes back. ?.

Aray you make an excellent point mate about it possibly just kicking the can down the road.
Is it possible to send him on loan to a club with the agreement being is to play in a front 3 or midfield 3 so he has a year to learn the position to return. No point in him going to a club as a number 10. Only benefit is if he’s a success his valuation to sell increases.
The Klopp team selection I was talking about was for when he is accused of bias when he selects Naby. And to a lesser extent Matip and Jota selections also get accused of bias.
Jota is no Bobby but neither in Nunez. They all have different skill sets.

JK, we haven't factored in the value Carvalho has as a homegrown player once he turns 21 in August 2023. I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp decides to keep him, pretty much in the same way Phillips has been kept. A bit cynical in terms of view, but if/ when Kelleher, Milner and Ox leave that's 3 less from our 7 homegrowns. And ideally we should have 8.
I think better to sell him. Buying Nunez and Gakpo (after buying Carvalho) has completely changed the perspective on that left sided attack position. And I sincerely hope the club doesn't stall the kid's career by unecessarily holding on to him as has been done with Phillips.

Barring the usual suspects who are already confirmed as leaving the club, has there been any updated collection of info on interest from other clubs for Liverpool players? I know we've seen a lot of 'the club are pricing them too high' however we rarely see any clubs mentioned as holding a strong interest in buying from us.

we really suck at selling players and managing the squad. We have a tricky job this summer in apparently needing to move players to a) raise funds and b) just create space in the squad. But we're notoriously bad at doing this.

As the saying goes sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind and I think we need to be ruthless this summer in moving players on. Only an opinion but I think the below we could look at selling and clearing up space for the squad for a number of different reasons.
Phillips - lads on 60k a week and just doesn’t play.
Kelleher- would be a shame to sell but rumour is he wants to play, should def have a first refusal clause in.
Tsimikas- probably one of the best back up left backs in the league but also too good to be a back up. Could raise descent funds.
Milner- I like Milner a lot but the minutes he gets are blocking the pathway of younger players. Players eventually have to move on.
Matip- I think he’s been a terrific signing for us especially as a free but he’s at the age where we need to look for fresher younger legs.
Hendo/ Thiago/ Fab - I think one of the main stay 3 could move on as all are on to big wages to be bit part players next season. I’m 99% sure it won’t be Hendo and Fav would probably bring in the biggest fee.
Bobby/ Ox/ Naby - 130 mill and 400k a week of footballers moving on a free. Not the best management of finances but a huge lump off the wage bill.
Other players who have been mentioned but can’t see them moving as could very well be needed in the squad due to our injury record Jota, Jones and Carvalho.
But I suppose it all depends on how many we bring in, In the summer because we might only be playing 1 game a week next season until the domestic cups kick off.

Agree with what you say there JK23. One exception is if Milner will stay as a player coach on reduced wages. He's a shining example and still has the stamina as shown by the beep test!

Phil Mitchell is on the shortlist. I think he wanted to employ his old mate Minty, too, but he's busy on Call The Midwife. There's no chance of his brother Grant getting a gig because of irreconcilable differences though.

WDW as a healthcare worker, I could easily apply to work out in Saudi, but I won't as having spoken with people who've went out there to earn money, they've told me a great many terrible things that the people out there do on a regular basis, I'm happy keeping my morals.
