Hi Ed002, hope all is well! Have you heard of any interest towards Matheus Nunes of Sporting Lisbon? My friend reckoned he’d heard a rumour but I seen your run down of MF interest the other day and you hadn’t mentioned him so I’m leaning towards it being nonsense. Thanks in advance!

Maneminamo

{Ed002's Note - Not involving Liverpool. Others are interested.}

1.) 14 Jun 2022 14:59:29
Thanks Ed002. Shame he looks a good player! Have a good day.

05 Nov 2021 07:36:34
Morning Ed002 hope all is well! I seen the other day you say Liverpool could look to Bissouma in January or an other or the other (memory fails me) . My question being is there a specific other we may be looking at? Thank you in advance for your time.

Maneminamo

{Ed002's Note - Renato Sanches.}

1.) 05 Nov 2021 11:03:09
Hope not Ed. We have far more than our fair share of injury prone midfielders. Sanches would be an unmitigated disaster.

2.) 05 Nov 2021 12:00:28
Thank you Ed.

3.) 05 Nov 2021 22:53:16
Please god no.

26 May 2021 15:49:23
Question for Ed002, I have searched but cannot find anything from yourself on the matter - do we hold interest in Neuhaus or is it specifically just Bissouma we are looking at? Neuhaus for me looks the more versatile and would not be off to AFCON. Cheers in advance and hope you are well 👍🏼.

Maneminamo

{Ed002's Note - Florian Neuhaus (CM) There remains significant interest in the Borussia Muenchengladbach player with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund seeing him as a player who will continue to improve. Real Madrid see him as an option in midfield and his representative has made no secret that there has been interest from elsewhere including Manchester City, Spurs, Juventus and the Milanese clubs, but Milan seems a less likely destination. Borussia Dortmund will push hard for him but they have growing money issues. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool at this time but he may offer an outstanding solution if Wijnaldum were to leave - but they don't have the necessary funds to pay the €40M termination clause. BD interest will go with Rose's commitment to not take players from BM. I expect he will stay another year where he is.}

1.) 26 May 2021 16:42:15
Thank you Ed.

05 Jan 2021 17:12:04
Any interest in Bremer from Torino?

Maneminamo

{Ed002's Note - Gleison Bremer (CB) Carlo Ancelotti tried to take him to Napoli and could try again - but a Work Permit could be an issue unless paying over the odds. I am not aware of Liverpool interest. However, I understand that Merih Demiral (CB) has now been offered to Liverpool and Spurs as his agent wants a foothold in the English market - Juventus want €50M (which seems too high).}

1.) 05 Jan 2021 17:34:34
Could Demiral be a loan or loan to buy option?

2.) 05 Jan 2021 18:02:20
Nvr even heard of the lad! Cheers for the info Ed do u think LFC willl be interested?

{Ed002's Note - I think that sort of money if Liverpool can find it could be better spent.}

3.) 05 Jan 2021 19:12:42
Could be a good option imo he looks a decent player from what I’ve seen. As you say though Ed, money could well be the issue.

4.) 05 Jan 2021 21:16:40
If we had that sort of money Ed, I’d give it to you and ask me to find one. I’m pretty sure we’d get change as well and a better player too.

5.) 05 Jan 2021 22:25:05
Obsession with cbs but we can’t hit the target never mind score a goal. In trouble of turning into the Arsenal team of old trying to walk the ball in. Need a cm who can add a thunderbolt in and a top finisher who can turn in the odd goal or 15 on a bad day. Give teams that play without a striker new problems.

6.) 05 Jan 2021 23:15:01
Uglyben I get what your saying but we showed more than enough yesterday to score goals mate and with a better final ball or finishing we would of scored a few. I think we are the top scorers in the league and we have Jota returning soon to add to the attack so let’s try to keep positive mate 👍.

7.) 06 Jan 2021 08:50:32
Problem is that you win nothing with a weak spine to a team, we have a very soft centre of defence at the moment and our midfield was completely compromised by not having either of Henderson or Fabinho there, so we’re open to getting regular beatings if we carry on like we did against Southampton.

8.) 05 Jan 2021 21:42:57
Better spent on who ed002 who looks a promising talent in your opinion

Cant beat a ed002 player to watch.

{Ed002's Note - Benoit Badiashile is seen as a huge emerging CB talent.}

9.) 06 Jan 2021 14:16:16
Thanks Ed! Yeah Badiashille is another I'd like. Is he likely?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

10.) 06 Jan 2021 18:15:47
and just like that the glimmer of hope is extinguished thanks ed now my dog is crying.

11.) 07 Jan 2021 16:08:31
LOL i love it when players are 'offered' to clubs, it's fun to imagine the sales pitch like a used car salesman. complete with flash highlights video set to cheap electro beats and a shiny embossed dossier on the player. step right up step right up! as the player seductively parades around on a platform. Hmm, i may have gotten a little carried away.

{Ed047's Note - they’ve been doing that with Pogba for years!

24 Nov 2020 11:00:14
Hi Eds, now we are nearing that time of the year, any idea what CBs we could be looking at in January? I'd assume we would surely have to be in for one!

Maneminamo

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any efforts by Liverpool to add a CB in January to replace Van Dijk or Gomez for however long they are out - and it is a difficult time to buy. You are aware of players Liverpool had previously shown an interest in and it would make sense to boost the Home Grown quota if they do look to an addition - but that has to be offset against cost and clubs not planning on selling in January. The likes of Dael Fry, Ben White and Ben Godfrey have been of interest in the past - only White would potentially make the grade as the starter Klopp wants (e.g. Diego Carlos or Lisandro Martinez). Whilst clubs are already trying to firm up their plans for next summer, few plan to buy in January - taking a player on loan might be an option.]

1.) 24 Nov 2020 12:55:27
Thank you Ed.

2.) 24 Nov 2020 13:19:47
I hear caulker is free.

3.) 24 Nov 2020 14:22:20
Thanks Ed002,

Putting aside who Klippity has the Klopps for, do people think that Lisandro Martinez has what it takes to be a "top" premier league club's starting CB?

I haven't seen much Dutch football to comment with any reasonable knowledge, but my understanding was that he is rather on the small side of things, and not an out and out CB by trade, as he is often foind playing left back or in Midfield.

In any case, I imagine his cost would put him well beyond what Liverpool would be able to afford, even if we did manage to sell a few players in January (e. g. Grujic)

Red Sandman.

{Ed002's Note - He is very well thought of indeed with Real Madrid and Liverpool having him watched last season.}

4.) 24 Nov 2020 14:55:11
hjikle, we don’t need a centre forward mate.

5.) 24 Nov 2020 18:16:35
I would like us to sign Ben White but I would think he will cost a bomb! Summer is more likely for a big signing to come in.

6.) 24 Nov 2020 19:00:19
Ben White would be a great addition but costly, but the home grown issue is never cheaply resolved due to inflation on English players. Would be more than happy with White and Van Dijk though.

7.) 25 Nov 2020 04:07:51
Boateng at BM may be a free agent in summer so probably a small fee in jan may help for cover.

8.) 25 Nov 2020 09:55:21
Would rather Gomez and Van Dijk meself.

9.) 25 Nov 2020 13:39:23
Red Sandman,
if Jurgen thinks Martinez is the man for us as CB or goalkeeper for that matter, I won't argue with him. He seems to know what he's doing.

10.) 26 Nov 2020 09:23:59
Jadon that would be great but if it has slipped your attention Gomez and Matip cannot be relied upon for a season, Gomez is facing the third lengthy spell out of his short career already.

What a game yesterday. Massive respect to Brentford, not many try to play football with us these days. Ivan Toney, can’t help but wonder how well he would do for us with our crosses and forwards playing off of him. There’s not many that Van Dijk struggles against in the air.

Maneminamo

1.) 26 Sep 2021 09:49:58
MOTD fever right there.

2.) 26 Sep 2021 09:53:04
we don't often play against teams with two forwards in a pair like that. just gave us a different problem that, I hope, we'll be better prepared for next time!

3.) 26 Sep 2021 10:46:10
its MOTD fever a bit but don't Brentford buy players woth a similar statistic model as us? Maybe we should see who they have lined up for when they sell Toney for 30m+.

{Ed001's Note - no. They use a stats-based model to identify players to scout, they do not buy anyone based on stats any more as that model failed them.}

4.) 26 Sep 2021 12:46:09
Ed01 Billy Bean, the creator of Moneyball said that Brentford use near the same data analytics that we do. Is that the one they walked away from or did they just tweak it a bit?

{Ed001's Note - I have just explained how they use it, but it is not the same as it is a proprietary model provided by the club's owner, who makes his money out of stat analytics. Billy Beane is not an expert on football, and the film moneyball is bollox anyway as it wasn't at all actually like that and conveniently leaves out the couple of big stars in the team.}

5.) 26 Sep 2021 13:47:25
Hardly MOTD fever when he done great in the championship and has continued it in the prem. Virgil struggled with him in the air and that doesn’t often happen. Just cos a few people say MOTD fever on here doesn’t mean you have to get off the bandwagon.

6.) 26 Sep 2021 13:48:58
Matip looked like he struggled with the physical side stopped trying to win headers and was trying to just bump into toney vvd found it hard at times aswell

I think klopp also found it hard as at 3-2 we went 4 2 4 almost with firmino and there was times were the gap between attack and defence was to much

Also thought minamino was unlucky to not get on especially at 3-3.

18 Sep 2021 18:06:01
VVVV Naby Lad said get it up you! 🤣.

Maneminamo

1.) 18 Sep 2021 18:41:21
What I find interesting about Keita is that people have multiple reasons for not liking him. His performances, his attitude, the fact he doesn’t speak English and yet judging on the reaction after he scored today he seems quite popular with his teammates. Maybe we shouldn’t be so quick to judge someone we don’t know.

2.) 18 Sep 2021 19:10:07
Thunderbird, 3 years is a very long time to keep giving the benefit of the doubt. Can you honestly say in those three years he’s done anything regularly to justify his transfer?

He’s very much drinking in the last chance saloon, the goal he scored to day was brilliant, that took superb technique, there’s no doubt about that, but technique without hard work and graft is worthless.

All I ask is that he stays fit, knuckles down and gives good consistent performances.

3.) 18 Sep 2021 19:12:12
It was a typical Naby performance. A moment of brilliance but the 30 mins he was on he touched the ball 9 times, won 0 tackles and had 0 interceptions. A ghost when he came on and for me he doesn't impose himself on the game and it wasn't like he came on for like 5 mins. Palace got back into the game when he came on and he was chasing shadows and behind the play. Thiago might not be the best tackler but he doesn't stop running and puts himself about and never shirks a tackle.

4.) 18 Sep 2021 18:49:06
Now if he can do that consistently then fair enough. But the last three years suggest otherwise. Let’s see how he does in his next game and if he can be consistent, effective and as robust as Wijnaldum.

5.) 18 Sep 2021 18:59:37
Exactly Thunderbird2, too often we pretend to know much more than we actually do. Another 3 points, another clean sheet. I am super happy.

6.) 18 Sep 2021 19:30:07
Not me defending him but the only person giving him the benefit of the doubt is klopp. And it’s his opinion that counts.

7.) 18 Sep 2021 19:58:06
VVVV - If Gini can pick up after 3 years, what can’t Naby?

8.) 18 Sep 2021 20:11:50
Well said JK23…he frustrates but in klopp we trust.

9.) 18 Sep 2021 20:15:11
A voice of reason there JK.

10.) 18 Sep 2021 20:23:04
He is part of this Liverpool team, he isn't being transferred any time soon. Like all the other players, he now requires the support of our fans.

11.) 18 Sep 2021 21:37:18
VVVV, I agree that his on field performances have been disappointing and not what you’d expect of a £50 million player but some of the off field criticism that gets thrown at his is wrong. The people that know him, his teammates, appear to like him.

12.) 18 Sep 2021 21:40:49
He poison! 3 years and done nout!
The lads might surround him and seem popular means nottin!
I’ve played with plenty of sound lads full of jokes a good laugh but couldn’t kick snow off a rope! But the other lads liked them so they where kept around!

Keita nice goal today 3 years waiting for sumthn nice for him!

13.) 18 Sep 2021 23:29:43
Ultimately, if he can put in good performances in consistently then I’ll happily eat my words. Whereas one goal doesn’t make up for three years of performances which on the whole were barely mediocre, he’s got a chance to stand up and stake a claim, which I sincerely hope he does as none of us want our players to fail, it’s up to him.

14.) 18 Sep 2021 23:40:41
If Keita was to leave, who would the fans hate next?
Who would take the position of new whipping boy?

{Ed0666's Note - phill babb?

15.) 18 Sep 2021 23:45:05
Naby had one tackle in the match. Thiago had none.
Anyways, in general there is too much psychoanalysis of our players and focus on what they can't do.

16.) 18 Sep 2021 23:48:27
Panting running around St Annes Park is hardly the same is it. don't see many volleys like that with there bad foot outa useless players.

31 Aug 2021 20:24:41
I'm not one to get my knickers down for a transfer but performing as we have the last few years, wanting to be at the top and spending as little as we have does feel like a step back. I think Taki is brilliant but he hasn't shown it at 2 different clubs, I hope he will kick on and I hope we don't regret this window. Onto the next games we go again #YNWA.

Maneminamo

1.) 31 Aug 2021 21:02:31
OP if Taki not getting game time and Klopp keeps him then, the question should be directed to Klopp as to why he is not playing him. The guy has a good preseason, scores some goals in the EFL Cup, has a belter of a game at Palace and poof, never seen again till his loan. Same has happened this season where he is on the bench and dies not come in vs Chelsea.

We can’t keep saying Taki is not good enuff or won’t make it whereas we don’t have enough evidence to prove that lecture opposite cos he never plays and when he does and plays well, he is dropped. If Klopp does not trust him then he should let him go. Just my opinion.

2.) 31 Aug 2021 21:26:48
We haven’t paid a lot for ‘back up players’ to be fair. It’s up to them to force their way into the team, if they don’t, well they’re ‘back up players’.

3.) 31 Aug 2021 22:07:20
Footyfan, I hear you BUT how do you explain the way Taki was treated after he ripped it up in the last preseason, has a belter vs Palace and poof, never seen again.

You cannot say that the backups should force their way in yet when they do, they get blamed for getting dropped right after as it were in the case if Mino. That makes no sense, IMO.

4.) 31 Aug 2021 23:00:25
I agree to an extent Oli, but Ralph left Taki to the same fate, its not a conspiracy, he is not delivering.

31 Aug 2021 14:42:53
Hi Ed002 hope you are well and doing good on this busy day! Do you still feel we may see an incoming with us seeming very quiet? Thanks in advance.

Maneminamo

{Ed002's Note - Yes there is still a chance.}

1.) 31 Aug 2021 15:22:43
Don't say that ed!

2.) 31 Aug 2021 15:35:43
Oh here we go again.

3.) 31 Aug 2021 15:38:38
Ed002 - Coutinho.? :-)

4.) 31 Aug 2021 15:38:56
Oh well done ed. I was just about to put my phone away for the day.

5.) 31 Aug 2021 15:39:20
Thank you Ed, at least there is hope for me on this 13 hour shift.

6.) 31 Aug 2021 15:40:01
If chelsea can get Saul on loan and we don't try that is a let down for me.

7.) 31 Aug 2021 15:40:30
Im pretty sure he only means there's a chance because the window is still open. When that's the case, there's always a chance. I don't see any ins. Maybe outs though.

8.) 31 Aug 2021 15:47:32
Ed, you're lucky we can't post gifs or the Dumb and Dumber one would be used ad nauseam.

9.) 31 Aug 2021 15:54:05
I hope the babelcopter is fueled and ready to go.

10.) 31 Aug 2021 15:56:42
What Ed002 is trying to say here is medicals for Aouar and Doku are booked.

11.) 31 Aug 2021 16:00:59
It's Mbappe, I tell you!

12.) 31 Aug 2021 16:15:28
Chris Wood. The big target man we need to get on the end of our fullbacks' crosses.

13.) 31 Aug 2021 16:15:40
He’s talking about The Right Honourable Lord Barrod Jowen.

14.) 31 Aug 2021 17:05:31
Don't do that, don't give us hope.

15.) 31 Aug 2021 18:15:40
It’s the hope that kills you, IMO.

09 Aug 2021 09:38:51
Liverpool aside, was nice to see the Spurs fans applaud Saka on his return. Some things are bigger than even a derby and it's good to show racism won't win! Well done Spurs.

@VVVV I think we acted for Tchouameni but he has always wanted Madrid, its had nothing to do with us really, I’d pick Spain over England too lol. Just like Tchouameni to Madrid there was no bidding war, same with Virgil to us, he only wanted us and look where he is. Sometimes a players desire just outright cancels a bidding war. He wants CL, he wants us, he doesn’t want United or Newcastle. We can live in hope for now. Plenty to be optimistic about! YNWA.

I’d be happy trying Gomez there we’ve seen the strides he’s taken on the ball in RB in just a few games. He’s rapid and wouldn’t half press well too. Matip I wouldn’t play there even though he has in the past, he’s lankier than Fabinho, slower and doesn’t read the game as well.

Keita and Henderson were outstanding when they came on. Fabinho and Thiago take some outperforming but they well and truly were by the aforementioned Keita and Hendo, there is no dispute. Went from end to end to sheer control, spare the slander and enjoy the win. Are we fans or critics. YNWA? Becoming more of a joke than a motto.
