Hello eds, sorry if this has been asked before, but with us not having the money for any big transfers, what about any big money departures, are the likes of Madrid and barca looking at any of our bigger playes, like mane, Salah, vvd Alisson etc?

Thanks in advance

Markcon

{Ed001's Note - they should be all staying. Barca are in poor shape financially themselves.}

In a time where people complain about a lack of funds to buy players. It’s so easy to forget how nice it is to be a in a position where we don’t have to be rebuilding every 1-2 years because our players want to move to “bigger clubs”.

Perhaps Salah would like one more move but I see Bobby, Mane, VVD, Alisson are all loving life at lfc. The longer this group stays togetherx the better a unit they will become.

Don’t under estimate that!

2.) 23 Jun 2020 12:14:06
well said Shaq.

3.) 23 Jun 2020 12:53:33
Barca are desperate to get shot of big money mistakes before they can even think about buying. But I don’t see them getting lucky there as no one in their right mind would want any of Coutinho, Dembele or Firpo at anywhere north of £15-20m.

4.) 23 Jun 2020 16:50:40
6times obviously Coutinho and Dembele are worth far far more than £20m. You watched Coutinho shine in the premier league for years.

5.) 23 Jun 2020 17:29:15
Coutinho has been found out. Given his age, he’s 28, anyone paying more than £20m is getting ripped off as there’s no resale value and quite frankly he’s not world class. Sorry but he isn’t. One good game in four player at best, he’s lightweight, doesn’t work hard, not particularly quick and nowhere near as much vision or skill as some seem to think,

As for Dembele, who on earth would want a permanently injured manchild who lacks any professionalism and lacks any tangible end product?

6.) 23 Jun 2020 19:33:06
To be totally fair to Coutinho he’s worth a lot more than £20m. he’s clearly not the superstar he thought he was and left a Liverpool team that made him look good because the team was built around him and he did score some amazing looking goals. There are plenty of managers and clubs with more money than sense that will be willing to spend £50m on him but I sense a loan Somewhere would be what happens as it’s lower risk in what would be a high risk move.
I honestly feel a bit bad for the lad, he moved to further his career and it tanked. I wouldn’t have him back after his behaviour and I think we robbed Barcelona personally.

7.) 23 Jun 2020 20:06:43
Coutinho should have stayed, that’s quite clear now.
The team was built around him, and I think we’d have been sensational with him in it.
His confidence has taken a major hit in the meanwhile, that’s plain to see, and that in itself can reduce a great player to an ordinary one.
Don’t forget that he came to liverpool as a flop, if you like, and left a star.

8.) 23 Jun 2020 21:32:07
He’s only worth what someone will pay Barcelona for him and Chelsea aside, there’s almost no one with any money to spend, so in the current market £20m is a fair assessment. And no one is going to lash out £50m on a washed up lightweight YouTube highlights reel footballer. Barcelona are never going to see £50m for him and his value is dropping like a stone in water. Schadenfreude is sweet.

9.) 23 Jun 2020 23:26:12
Are they going to play for free? Because their salaries are reportedly over 12 million a year. So a four year contract for Coutinho with a 20m fee plus 50m salary plus agent fee will set you back about 75 to 80 million. For a guy who's flopped at his last 2 clubs.

Yup, they're going to be lining up around the block for that hot deal. Get him in quick!

10.) 24 Jun 2020 07:35:03
And that Red67, is exactly why Barcelona are deluded when they think they can get top dollar for their deadwood. No sensible club would pay more than £20m with all the add ons. Barcelona are stuck with them and vice versa, which is good news for us as it means we won’t make the stupid mistake of taking these players on.

11.) 24 Jun 2020 09:20:43
Juicer we were and are sensational after he left! He made us worse that much is obvious.

Kopp as confirmed it, let's stop feeling sorry for ourselves and start to perform like champions.

2.) 12 Feb 2021 16:04:01
That means another game with hendo at the back.

3.) 12 Feb 2021 16:26:18
It’s not working with Hendo at the back so might as well play him in midfield. He can still protect the back 4 when required. Who will mark Vardy?

4.) 12 Feb 2021 16:34:56
MR, It is what it is. As for tmrw, I disagree with this but I think Klopp will play Hendo at the back again.

5.) 12 Feb 2021 18:39:29
Maybe he was rushed back after the last one?

Have to go with two out of Phillips, Kabak and Davies, imo. It'll probably depend on how prep work in training went.

6.) 12 Feb 2021 20:01:42
I have a sinking feeling Klopp will play Hendo at the back. Nothing changes for me, we have to play the defenders we have in defence and Hendo in midfield.

7.) 12 Feb 2021 21:41:33
Starting to the training is contributing to some of these at this stage.

8.) 12 Feb 2021 23:06:26
maybe klopp is resting Fab for the Champions League game, and has Kabak on the teamsheet, I was really hoping we might see Fab or Hendo in midfield, it might happen midweek .

Hello guys, sorry if this has been asked before, but do you see any of our bigger players looking to leave anytime soon? I know salahs team has been looking previously, how about mane and bobby? Even vvd or alisson, do you think they are all here for the long term or will madrid and Barcelona manage to turn their heads.

1.) 16 Jun 2020 01:16:59
I don’t see any first choice players leaving this summer. After that who knows? A year is a long time in football.

2.) 16 Jun 2020 03:20:42
None of them will leave at least during their prime. The cash rich clubs u mentioned will have younger players like Mbappe, Haaland, Lautaro etc on their minds, so no chance of them spending big on Salah, Bobby and Mane.
VVD wants a new contract to end his career at LFC itself so he will stay regardless. Barca, Real, Juve etc are not known to empty their coffers for GKs so Alisson stays with us as well.
Most importantly, we need to continue being successful to keep our best players so it does not matter which club comes knocking at our doors for our players. Our best players will stay as long as we are winning things on a regular basis.

3.) 16 Jun 2020 03:41:11
Players want to win trophies, as long as liverpool keep winning trophies i don't see a problem.
I also think Madrid and barca's recent record with signings is pretty appalling, why anybody would rush to sign for 2 clubs who drop you like a hot potatoe at a moments notice is beyond me. Coutinho, Dembele, Griezman all cost a fortune and are all surplus to requirements. Hazard has not got started yet and Ronaldo has not been replaced.
Everything that VVD and Allison, Mane, And Salah want to achieve they can do so at lfc and not only become Legends but at the same time be appreciated whilst doing so.
Firmino will hopefully end his career with us, if this side can stay together i expect more trophies to be won at home and in europe.

4.) 16 Jun 2020 13:24:07
Spot on IB and KK7. Those players you mentioned have won the big trophies and had some of their wildest dreams fulfilled at LFC. Bobbie for ex. had won nothing in his career before he came to us. Mane won the Austrian double with RB Salzburg but per Ed01, his biggest dream of winning the CL came true at LFC. Salah won the CL as well, the very thing he wanted to win since his days as a kid playing on the streets in Egypt. VVD went from nearly losing his life to being the second best player on the planet, per Balon D'Or standards. You can't just wave these things aside cos this is emotional, not business, IMO.

They want to keep winning stuff with us cos it was here that they achieved their dreams and as long as we remain competitive and hungry and keep winning trophies, they could retire here, something I think Bobbie could actually do. The ol'' RM and Barcelona "everyone wants to play there" schtick is running stale and tired now, IMO esp. since both clubs are a shambles when it comes to their transfer market decisions.

5.) 16 Jun 2020 15:44:36
Spot on Red Meister, the Madrid/ barcelona narrative gets pushed by pundits who like to pretend they know what they are talking about. When was the last time either of these clubs bought a player for big money that turned out to be a sucess?
yet apparentley all the top players can't wait to join either club.

6.) 16 Jun 2020 17:56:06
Spot on, KK7. I read somewhere several months ago that the last big/ great signing Barcelona made was a certain Luis Suarez. Their whole transfer strategy (and that of RM) has gone to hell in a hand basket with no clear direction or focus on what they actually want to achieve. Oh but yeah, every top player wants to play there.

I also agree with your point on the pundits saying that. "oh, when Real Madrid or Barcelona come calling, surely you can't say NO" is another rubbish line they use to make them look and sound smart while not realizing that players reject Barcelona and RM frequently.

7.) 19 Jun 2020 03:43:57
I do agree very much that Madrid and Barcelona have recently not been able to integrate new star signings with the quality they expected and we currently are riding at the top at moment but I disagree that ye think the Barca/ Madrid power has lost its glamour. Every single player still sees them as the pinnacle dream to reach in a career.

Madrid have won multiple CL titles in last 6 or 7 years, Barcelona also regularly winning league titles so it's not like they're going through barren years of no silverware. Players who play for them win titles nearly every year, play in front of 80,000 fans at nou camp or bernabau every week and can earn the best of money.

No top player would ever consider how other players have failed as a reason to judge their own opportunities to succeed. I think ye are massively undermining the stature those clubs definitely still have.
