I would go all out and try and sign insigne. Contract up next year. Would he be keen to move eds or staying where he is? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Lorenzo Insigne (LW/F) Lazio were shocked to be told Insigne would cost €50M given he is 30 and entering the last year of his contract so will not be making an offer. Napoli are open to selling or including him as part of a deal for players they are interested in and will perhaps offer him to Chelsea in exchange for two players or to Spurs as part of a deal for another target. Inter and Barcelona are interested in taking him but would want to include players in any deal or pay far less than the unrealistic asking price. His agent has claimed that he has had positive discussions with both Liverpool and Chelsea. It is hard to see either club paying such a huge fee and would certainly be a surprise.

1.) 06 Jul 2021 20:31:04
A surprise you say.

2.) 06 Jul 2021 20:50:27
There it is. I will sleep tonight.

3.) 06 Jul 2021 20:35:22
Straight swap for Kieta? Lol
Was it Insigne that Klopp really likes as a player ed002? Seem to remember you saying so a couple of years back.
Can’t see it myself unless Mane or Salah leaves, he would want to be a starter.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, Insigne’s ear is worthy of Klopp’s tongue.}

4.) 06 Jul 2021 20:50:40
Thanks eds, appreciate the reply and detailed info. It would be a lovely surprise 😮.

5.) 06 Jul 2021 21:45:51
I’m not bothered about Insigne being close to 30, sometimes you have to make an allowance for a brilliant player. I seem to remember Chelsea buying a similarly talented diminutive ex Napoli alumni (albeit via Parma) when he was 30 and he went on for 7 years at the top.

6.) 06 Jul 2021 22:07:04
Insigne is one of my favourite players in Europe. 19 goals last season. He's also not really a player who relies on pace or power and is very light on his feet. Never had any major injuries. He is the sort who will play at the highest level until he's 35 without any issues. I'd snap Napoli's arm off for him.

7.) 06 Jul 2021 22:10:28
I would love it if we were to sign him Ed002 but surfely at his age he needs to play every week, so can’t see it unless someone is leaving 😞.

{Ed002's Note - It is a lot of money for a 30 year old.}

8.) 06 Jul 2021 22:27:32
Are there any of our players Ed that could be used in the deal? We surely don’t have €50M for a 30yo without one of the front players departing?

{Ed002's Note - I would doubt it. Regardless it makes little sense.}

9.) 07 Jul 2021 07:07:09
Surely Edwards can negotiate a good deal, no way they are getting that much money when he can walk for free next year. I think he would have a massive impact and would have at least 3 seasons on top. I really want him.

10.) 07 Jul 2021 08:43:47
Would Origi, Mini or Shaq in a swap not make sense Eds? Not all 3 mind.

{Ed002's Note - Why would they want players they are not interested in?}

11.) 07 Jul 2021 12:26:10
Excellent question, Ed02. I await the answers with baited breathe.

Apparently the Zambian Observer saying Daka to be announced as a liverpool player this week! The good old Zambian Observer 🤣🤣.

1.) 08 Jun 2021 10:40:42
They may have inside knowledge because he's from there.

2.) 08 Jun 2021 10:40:57
I read the Zambian Observer every day just for page 3.

3.) 08 Jun 2021 10:50:26
Page 3 of the Zambian Observer is the business pages, you got your finger on the pulse of the African stock markets, Adam?

4.) 08 Jun 2021 11:26:09
Don't kink shame me Zeddicus. It's 2021.

5.) 08 Jun 2021 12:47:29
You and George Soros should head up a support group, Adam.

I'm praying for you, bud :)

6.) 08 Jun 2021 13:25:08
I am sorry but I went on a bit of a rant and took myself too seriously. Result? A self-imposed exile from a website I love and login to daily.

This post has made me swallow my pride and re-post. Thank you so much MK and Zed.

Apologies to Thunderbird 2 for any offense caused.

7.) 08 Jun 2021 18:49:01
The Zambian Observer is still a more reliable and honest news outlet than the s*n,

8.) 08 Jun 2021 19:38:49
Anybody read the Mali Mail?

9.) 08 Jun 2021 20:13:32
I’m more of a Timbuktu Telegraph man myself, Iron Man.

{Ed0666's Note - yes the Timbuktu Telegraph’s crossword is quite the quandary but the Tamale Times has a riveting editorial every Sunday on Jollof.

10.) 09 Jun 2021 22:30:38
The Amsterdam Evening Chronicle is probably more up your street there MKS?

01 Jun 2021 19:42:11
Daka signing seems to be gathering pace. I really hope this one gets across the line quickly as this lad looks very good. Konate, Daka and a midfielder would be a class window.

1.) 01 Jun 2021 20:03:29
Id be over the moon is we signed Daka, he looks like a boss.

{Ed025's Note - but can he play a guitar with his feet?.. :)

2.) 01 Jun 2021 20:59:58
You're probably thinking of Tiki and Taka, the rhythm pedtarists.

3.) 01 Jun 2021 21:23:09
The good news is that Zambia didn't qualify for the AFCON finals so if he did sign, we'd have Jota, Firmino and Daka available in January.

If he signs though Origi and Minamino's Liverpool careers are surely over. Hopefully Elliott replaces Shaqiri.

I've never actually seen Daka play, but the last RBS striker to leave the club didn't do too bad 👀.

4.) 01 Jun 2021 21:40:47
I feel Minamino hasn't been given a fair shot. If like him to stay and we bring in Daka and maybe Elliot unless we can get him to a decent prem side next season.

5.) 01 Jun 2021 21:47:10
Ed25, not sure about a guitar with his feet but have you ever played the recorder while having a finger up your bum?

{Ed025's Note - if i did i dont think i would reveal it on here pegleg mate.. :)

6.) 01 Jun 2021 22:03:45
I used to tell my parents that i didn’t think the music teacher was anygood : (.

{Ed025's Note - love it pegleg.. :)

7.) 01 Jun 2021 22:20:20
Ed025 what happens at band camp stays at band camp.

{Ed025's Note - it will be our little secret then kloppers.. :)

8.) 01 Jun 2021 22:27:06
Did you go to a Catholic school as well Pegleg?

9.) 01 Jun 2021 23:12:59
Yea heard it could be cala from across, names a nightmare to spell. On a free. Looks decent. Only ever seen his free kicks and long shots but looks a bit of alright and at 27 could have a few good years and not completely block the path for curtis. Whereas a Bellingham would.

10.) 02 Jun 2021 04:33:27
Spent a bit of time in a Turkish prison food was awful visiting times were good though.

11.) 02 Jun 2021 08:13:01
I don't think we'll sign Daka unless one of the front 3 leaves. We already have 4 players who want to play every game and are very unhappy when they don't. Imagine that being 5 who want to play every game.
He looks like an excellent prospect but do we want to upset the squad harmony?

12.) 02 Jun 2021 08:56:09
I did go to a catholic school 😢.

13.) 02 Jun 2021 09:14:49
Brommers, Daka is EXACTLY the sort of player I can see joining if one of the front 3 DON'T leave. Young, inexperienced in the league but with (seemingly) great attributes and he sounds like he will cost about 25-30% LESS than we got for Brewster last year. I'm sure he would be happy with bench and/ or U-23 appearances to start off with whilst he is integrated into the team and the league and he is then ready to have more of a role once the front 3 do start being disbanded. Remember they are all 28/ 29 and won't stay forever.

14.) 02 Jun 2021 09:23:46
Zeddicus, good point. I was thinking short term but you thinking more mid-long term. It also allows us to sell a front player at the end of the season without too much grief.

15.) 02 Jun 2021 09:26:12
KingKlopp96. Bellingham and Jones play in two
Different positions so slim to no chance of him blocking the path for Curtis. In any case I’m excited to see what the future holds for Jones as he has a lot of potential. Bellingham on the other hand will become one of the best in the world in his position, if he continues to knuckle down and work hard. The lad is a generational talent and if we had any chance of signing him in the next few years I would take it without any hesitation.

16.) 02 Jun 2021 17:54:58
Bellingham doesn't play on the left of a front 3?

My point is Henderson and fabinho start so the next player is next to them. If we signed bellingham then that's Jones in gone.

We wouldn't have a midfield of jones bellingham and fabinho.

{Ed002's Note - Bellingham won't be signing.}

17.) 03 Jun 2021 10:35:46
once saw Ian Dowie playing the banjo with his toes whilst sitting in a tree.

24 May 2021 05:13:22
Any news on konate eds? Are we going to stump the cash up? Surely we are not going to stick with the Turkish lad? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what news you re expecting. They player has been tapped up and his head turned, he has now been referred to as a liar after making a statement that Liverpool have not spoken to either him or his agent. Liverpool know what they have to do - but have not done it. Now they are in the Champions League it will be easier to borrow against next year's additional income. They will also be looking to sell players to raise funds but have already priced at least two out of possible moves. This is no way to run a business.}

1.) 24 May 2021 09:49:44
Would you be able to name the 2 players. or just that are they in squad or out on loan.

{Ed002's Note - Grujic and Awoniyi.}

2.) 24 May 2021 10:40:03
Ed002, I know you are very critical about the way Liverpool does their transfer business and it is not the first time they tap up players and paid the price for it. Why do you think LFC are still allowing such behavior when they could do it the proper way? I mean, as a club, we are successful enough to attract talent and we do not need to do things illegally.

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea why the club are allowing Klopp to continue with this.}

3.) 24 May 2021 12:31:03
As stupid as it sounds, has anyone actually informed Klopp what he is doing it an illegal tap up?
Maybe he isn't quite offay with the rules that he continues to break them. He can't just have been doing it at Liverpool can he?

{Ed002's Note - Of course he knows. The club had to pay £15M plus agent costs about what Southampton wanted for VvD. Letters have been written to the club demanding the club stop or threaening referral to UEFA. The club have previously dragged the slime behind them making apologies to clubs such as Fulham in the past.}

4.) 24 May 2021 12:33:37
They’re Americans, they cause wars in country’s for oil I’m sure a little tapping up is of no importance to them . Underhanded fookers.

{Ed002's Note - Must be dreadful going through life as a DF ignorant xenophobe.}

5.) 24 May 2021 14:08:51
Jeez Scouse John, i've read some BS on these pages before but that comment takes the hobnob. Completely embarrassing pal.

6.) 24 May 2021 15:13:04
Not sure FSG have ever declared war on a country to be honest lol.

7.) 24 May 2021 17:42:02
Hey Gini how’s it embarrassing? Was it embarrassing the other week when they try to force through the ESL and collapse the premier league? Or still looking for ways to start another league. I rest my case lad they got no morals.

8.) 24 May 2021 17:58:15
Scouse John, slandering all Americans because of the actions of two is why it is wrong.

9.) 24 May 2021 18:54:31
Scouse John talking nonsense again. becoming a habit.

10.) 24 May 2021 20:40:00
Go back to bed Marty.

{Ed0666's Note - Guys let’s give it a rest please. Let’s keep politics out of here and stick to football

11.) 25 May 2021 08:06:53
Seriously Scouse John, if you can’t see what was wrong with your post then I pity you.

12.) 25 May 2021 11:41:22
I think we all know Scouse John.

19 May 2021 06:19:29
Pedro Goncalves, see we have been linked today eds. Any truth to the runour? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Pedro Goncalves (RW/AM) Sporting say that there has been no direct approach from any other side about the kid but admitted to have had Spurs and Real Madrid scouts watch him. The suggestion of approaches from Manchester United and Liverpool seem wide of the mark at this time, although his agent says he has spoken with the former and there is interest. Perhaps in a couple of years a return to England might make sense but for now Manchester United do not seem to have the need with Fernandes in the AM role and €60M as cover for Liverpool is a great deal for them to find.}

1.) 19 May 2021 16:37:29
I hope not, imagine the spelling errors.

2.) 19 May 2021 17:59:34

Eds, you may not want to open this can of worms but .....................

{Ed002's Note - I don't know Marty, sorry. But as you say the National Enquirer and Farmers Weekly may be the place to look.}

1.) 29 Jul 2021 20:46:33
Ha ha! Understood eds! Hope you're well.

{Ed002's Note - And you Marty.}

27 Jul 2021 18:23:13
Gabriel Barbosa , I read we may be considering an offer eds? Old news or anything in it? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Interesting, I suspect it is Twitter teasing you.}

1.) 27 Jul 2021 19:55:57
I'm not on Twitter eds but thanks for the reply pal.

03 Jul 2021 15:47:20
Hey eds. Do you think there is a chance salah could leave? Just watching the end of a storm and I'd hate to lose him. Immense player and so strong. Have to keep him. Also, what a documentary.

{Ed001's Note - eventually all players leave Marty.}

1.) 03 Jul 2021 17:01:50
I'd be happy with two more years of Mo.

2.) 03 Jul 2021 16:16:05
Sure, but do you think he will leave this summer? I think he's our most important player. Interested in your thoughts. Thanks for responding.

{Ed001's Note - no I don't see it happening this summer. Not sure there is the money floating around to get him.}

3.) 03 Jul 2021 17:17:14
Fit as a fiddle, great injury record! hopefully gets a new contract and spends the rest of his career here which should be a fair few years yet.

4.) 03 Jul 2021 17:18:16
I wasn’t really a fan of the End of the Storm tbh. I felt it was a pretty poor documentary they just cobbled together that seeks to ride on the coat tails of Liverpools success without really paying it the respect it deserves.

There’s an art to documentary filmmaking and central to that is setting the stage and capturing the essence of the story, moulding the viewers perspective of events to retell the events as they were experienced by those who were there, not necessarily the cold hard facts of what actually happened.

The End of the Storm didn’t really understand that and as a result it just feels like poorly made, overly dramatic highlights reel as opposed to a cohesive experience that does our story justice.

5.) 03 Jul 2021 17:35:38
I liked it. tbf just reliving those moments was lovely. Had a little cry at the end and still feeling emotional about it now. What a season it was. Guess it Could of been better but I still loved watching us again and listening to klopp.

31 May 2021 06:28:58
Hi eds, appreciate Daka has been talked about on here but seems to be conflicting reports. Have Liverpool made any moves or talked to his club? Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

1.) 31 May 2021 14:18:03
I had read the posts. was asking for precisely that reason. What I've read appears to contradict what I've read elsewhere. Thought you may be able to clarify. No worries.

18 May 2021 20:08:26
What result do we want for Leicester vs Chelsea tonight lads? Draw?

1.) 18 May 2021 21:03:44
We win tomorrow and Sunday Marty then the score tonight can be anything it likes mate.

2.) 18 May 2021 22:40:27
Not true. We can win and finish 5th on GD behind Leicester.

3.) 19 May 2021 03:06:37
Yes but if we behind leicester it would mean chelsea had dropped points and be behind us in 5th.

Traore looks poor. Always on the bench for wolves for a reason. Would need to be 10 million to make sense imo. But klopp does improve players so let's hope he can work his magic.

Any thoughts on who you think we will end up with forward wise eds? Most of the linked players seem to be heading elsewhere. Very interested in who you think are serious options/ contenders. Thanks in advance.

It's like groundhog day on here. like a continual merry-go-round of the same conversation. Let's just wait and see what happens I reckon. Nobody knows who we are going to sign so best to wait I'd say. Klopp has managed pretty well so far. I know this is a rumours site etc but the same posts over and over is tedious to say the least. We are all desperate for new signings I know but come on lads/ lasses.

Tongue massively in cheek Jay 🤣🤣🤣 I just don't know where he finds the time, but you have to admire the commitment and I'm not saying it in a negative or derisory way to be clear.
