Evening Ed’s, has the Wirtz transfer been completed now? Or are negotiations still going on? Th.
{Ed001's Note - pretty much done.}
1.) 11 Jun 2025 23:04:02
Thanks ed! What a time to be alive! I literally used to watch him and think what a player he is but I never thought we would end up signing him! Amazing.
2.) 11 Jun 2025 23:31:52
Kluivert pretty much said Kerkez is joining too.
Wirtz, Kerkez and Frimpong. Think we're going to look a little different in playing style next year. Even if we do the same tactics these players will make it look quite different with their individual styles. For me that's something to be excited about. Looking forward to seeing what it looks like.
3.) 11 Jun 2025 23:48:40
Love you Ed (in a non-sexual way) . I still remember the night you did a livestream, and announced that Rodgers is getting sacked in the morning. I believe it was off the back of the Merseyside derby. I was so excited and relieved to see him go. This is on another level. Only Isaak would come close.
{Ed001's Note - I can't think of another player that would be this exciting. I don't normally get excited by transfers these days, but this one is exciting.}
4.) 12 Jun 2025 06:49:00
Top man Ed, thanks!
{Ed001's Note - very welcome Joe.}
5.) 12 Jun 2025 08:01:37
I've not been this exited for a transfer window since watching deadline day with my brother the window we signed Suarez. And the proper window haven't even started yet.
6.) 12 Jun 2025 08:34:07
That was a hilarious live stream. The highlight was the guy who was desperate to get their attention and when they eventually opened up his stream…. well- that’s between us watching and ed1.
{Ed078's Note - classic. Like 001 says, this is a special signing. I compared it to the Suarez signing to my son. Suarez was less of a known quantity, but his immediate effect on the team was unmistakable. I remember seeing an interview with Gerard or Carra, when, after one training session, they said to each other "how have we got him?"
We're in a much better place now than when Suarez signed, but I wouldn't be surprised to see this lad show Suarez like levels of quality.
7.) 12 Jun 2025 09:06:43
Ed078 I was chatting to my friend who's a united fan about us having the chance to sign CR7. It got onto who the world's best football player was and that's not an easy answer. Now I'm not saying Suarez had the best qualities as a human being! But the skills I saw that man have with a football was mind-blowing. Sometimes I couldn't actually believe what I had just seen him do. I'm really looking forward to the Wirtz signing.
{Ed078's Note - agree, as the Arctic Monkey's would say, what a Scummy Man. But, for a short time, he was our Scummy Man, and a more gifted player I have not seen in my 6 decades. Not the best, but seen nobody better, and I stood on the cop in the late 70s.
8.) 12 Jun 2025 09:23:12
The cop? You fought the law and the law won? Brave man.
9.) 12 Jun 2025 11:34:45
He was out scummy man indeed. He was incredibly gifted. One of the best I have ever watched Ed.
{Ed078's Note - indeed
03 Jun 2025 10:53:42
Just seen a rumour linking us to Guehi, anyone know anymore?
1.) 03 Jun 2025 11:50:47
Guehi could be involved in a move which see's Elliott go to Palace but it hinges on what happens with Eze.
Ta.
2.) 03 Jun 2025 11:58:51
Hopefully not
Up the pool.
3.) 03 Jun 2025 11:59:14
No Thank you.
4.) 03 Jun 2025 12:02:40
If Konate were to stay, I actually think Guehi would be a good homegrown option to challenge at the back.
5.) 03 Jun 2025 12:27:32
Guehi has his strengths. He's very fast, very physical, excellent on the ball and a good 1v1 defender.
However he's also got his weaknesses. He's weak in the air and average positionally.
He's not a bad player, hence why he starts for England and is captain of FA Cup winners Palace. He'd be good competition for Konate and Virgil. They both got a bit lackadaisical at times last season because their positions just weren't under any genuine threat from Quansah or Gomez who both had poor seasons.
6.) 03 Jun 2025 12:29:54
Vick, can u please chime in?
7.) 03 Jun 2025 12:38:18
I'd agree with you there Davey. He'd be a younger Gomez replacement as he has versatility and is HG as you say.
We can't have 22 superstars, we do need reliable players - like Endo for example, and Milner before him - who can put in a 7/ 10 shift and fill gaps.
But I still have a slight preference for Hato - just such a higher bar and able to succeed VVD if things go well.
I also doubt that in the run up to the world cup in 2026, Marc would probably prefer to be somewhere as a nailed on starter.
8.) 03 Jun 2025 13:12:26
Cheers Carra, are we almost there on Wirtz? Thanks.
9.) 03 Jun 2025 13:24:54
Jarred B over him, anyday.
10.) 03 Jun 2025 13:29:03
Guehi would cost upwards £70mill and that is not a price you pay for someone with more weakness than strengths.
11.) 03 Jun 2025 13:55:46
Richard? Is that you?
12.) 03 Jun 2025 13:57:54
Hello Harry, yet another new username?
Great its keeping you amused, and allowing you to pay homage to your hero in Romano.
13.) 03 Jun 2025 15:31:25
Speaking of Endo - is no one else hyped at his comments since the celebrations? What a warrior and I hope he stays.
14.) 03 Jun 2025 16:16:16
Could be players exchanged as an option and if Konate is not going to sign then a player of his experience and quality would be a very good addition. HG status would be a bonus.
15.) 03 Jun 2025 17:29:45
Totally with you Faith. Someone said (it *may* have been you? ) that he's this team's James Milner. Albeit I'm not sure if he likes Ribena.
16.) 03 Jun 2025 18:58:09
Personally don’t rate the lad as he’s not the biggest and he’s not great in the air, prone to switching off and being rash as MK pointed out, however having said that, if he is happy to be back up (which evidently he must be given he’s rejected the chance to be first choice at Spurs and Newcastle), then it’s fine as he’s ok as a cover for centre back, defensive midfield and left back so he can be the new James Milner Swiss Army knife player and if he’s willing to work his arse off then more power to him. But he’s not good enough to be a starter in central defence in my honest opinion. As for the price, if he’s made it clear to palace he won’t sign a new contract they have a choice, sell at a substantial discount or let him leave next year for free,
17.) 03 Jun 2025 19:19:31
Here we go he's now entering the last year of his contract. So no way he's going to cost £70m+ I'd imagine around £40m. So not far off Elliotts supposed price. So it could work out pretty well in terms of a like for like deal.
07 May 2025 21:51:14
KDB rumours quite strong tonight, apparently we have made an offer. anything on it Ed's?
{Ed001's Note - not heard anything.}
1.) 07 May 2025 22:07:34
Hope not. Legs have gone. Good player in his prime but why sign somebody who time has caught up with.
2.) 07 May 2025 22:32:40
Hilarious ?.
3.) 07 May 2025 22:33:44
I'd absolutely take him. Another year in him. Manage his game time.
4.) 07 May 2025 22:40:32
I don’t think we can make an offer until 1st June can we?
5.) 07 May 2025 23:00:41
He’s better than Szoboszlai I’d take him in a heartbeat on a two year deal.
6.) 08 May 2025 00:25:24
We have signed some top notch deals on ex-City players over the years. James Milner, Kolo Toure, Daniel Sturridge. And of course none other than Mr. Calculated Risk.
7.) 08 May 2025 00:43:30
Yeh pay as you play id have him. He’d be great to teach the others too.
8.) 08 May 2025 00:43:30
We can make an offer at any time, I believe but he can't sign a pre-contract with us like he can with clubs from outside our FA.
9.) 08 May 2025 05:55:52
He’s run his contract down so that he can leave on a free and get a massive signing on bonus.
I though that makes him a Judas rat scumbag doesn’t it?
10.) 08 May 2025 06:23:38
No he hasn’t Shaq, that’s absolutely untrue from all reports. He was hoping for and expecting a contract renewal from City but it never came. They didn’t offer him a new contract.
So, not exactly as you portrayed then!
11.) 08 May 2025 06:49:23
For ages everyone moaned about our entire midfield losing their legs and now people actively want us to sign one? Premier league isn't Kev's level anymore. He'll be doing himself a kindness heading off to MLS where he is still talented enough to be th best player in the league.
12.) 07 May 2025 22:43:32
Edd001 have you any insight anymore on possible transfers for the club without the great Edd002? Hopefully macca drops in here and there mate.
{Ed001's Note - a little but I don't have the time to chase up stuff these days. Just editing the sites takes up too much time, it doesn't really leave any for anything else.}
13.) 07 May 2025 22:51:43
What's your opinion on a one year deal Ed?
Personally, I'd like to see it just to see it. As a fan, you d imagine he'd give every last ounce he has.
{Ed001's Note - not for me, there is every chance he will spend most of the time injured, his legs have gone.}
14.) 08 May 2025 07:52:06
Valuable non HG space taken up by a player whose legs have gone and is past his best. Would be best left in the freebee pile for another club who could use an experienced role model for their younger generation.
Don't get me wrong I understand what he would bring but I just don't see it being enough of a benefit in this moment in time for what the club requires.
15.) 08 May 2025 10:26:30
Batman7,
Still not much coming out of the club on transfers.
I spoke to two people who work for/ with the club on the bank hol., asked both about tranfers - first said Kerkez and Huijsen nailed on with Hughes' Bournemouth connections, second guy told me later that Bastoni and Cambiaso due to Hughes' Italian connections.
Neither has a clue really (although I reckon they got one right each) .
16.) 08 May 2025 11:07:42
Bastoni would never move and if he did it would be for a massive sum, the second guy is clearly wrong if you ask me.
17.) 08 May 2025 18:39:35
@zeddicus, I think you will find that SICKattack (Shaqattack) was referring to the LFC supporters like me who lamblasted TAA for moving without a fee for the club, he's one of the many who thinks TAA is bigger and more important than Liverpool Football Club.
He needs to realise and others who defended TAA, who for me are not true LFC supporters also, that had we got a fair fee for TAA we may have had a self generated income transfer kitty of circa £150 million, than a lower 90-100 million kitty, of course if he's like his hero!
I see the White Smoke is showing over the Vatican, is that for the upcoming wedding of two RM players, had ye invite yet Shaqattack!
28 Apr 2025 19:42:15
Any update on Trent Ed's?
{Ed025's Note - not anything tangible just yet Marty..
1.) 28 Apr 2025 21:35:51
So you're saying there's a chance? *insert dumb and dumber gif*.
2.) 29 Apr 2025 02:41:55
He’s gone. Fabrizio mouthpiece for Real Madrid is pushing hard with releasing of stories. Needs to just announce now before the trophy lift unless he is planning to slink off after season ends.
At the end of the day when the season started I would have swapped any of the 3 if not all 3 for the league so let’s just take it and enjoy!
3.) 29 Apr 2025 08:13:32
Ah yes Fabrizio and Madrid the absolute paragons of truth and virtue.
4.) 29 Apr 2025 10:14:42
Fabrizio is a moron who knows sod all. The kind of fella to finish your sentence and then say ‘see told you so’.
5.) 29 Apr 2025 10:26:46
To be fair it's not just Fabrizio. Hopefully he'll say either way now the leagues wrapped up, but I can't see it personally.
Once he announces he's off he'll inevitably get abuse. So probably just announce it with some video after the last game.
It is what it is, we won the league which we'd have all taken at the start even if it meant Trent would leave.
6.) 29 Apr 2025 10:51:40
He isn’t ‘slinking off’. He either decides to depart at the end of his contract - which he will have fulfilled - or he will re-sign for us. If it’s the first choice then good luck to him and thank you for everything he has done for us. If it’s the second then, brilliant, we get another few years to watch an outstanding player play for us.
7.) 29 Apr 2025 12:35:18
Absolutely right WDW. He's done no wrong in my eyes. My gut feeling is that he's veering towards leaving, though. What better timing would it have been to announce he was staying than the post-match interviews? I'm probably overthinking it.
8.) 29 Apr 2025 13:18:31
John Henry’s wife causing mischief on instagram about it!
9.) 29 Apr 2025 13:32:30
He could have told Liverpool that he was leaving at the end of his contract last year but decided to keep everybody in the dark, but that's means the club are unsure whether they need a new FB or not. Of he had given the club that years notice most fans would have accepted that decision, but it's the is he going or staying that's disruptive.
10.) 29 Apr 2025 13:49:21
I’m sure the club know more than they tell the media. Was football always like this? More people these days seem to enjoy the side show of it all opposed to the actual game.
11.) 29 Apr 2025 14:47:10
I’m sure it’s not announced as they feel he will possibly be abused by a small section of so called fans.
12.) 29 Apr 2025 17:19:48
@Fat, I’m sure if he’d signed for Madrid they would have announced it - they don’t give a stuff about anything but themselves.
@Alwaysred, it’s possible he still hasn’t made his mind up. He is still bound by his current contract so there’s no need for a decision until the contract ends.
13.) 30 Apr 2025 12:38:43
Southern Red, I'm pretty sure you can call her by her name, Linda Henry and not be condescending. She is the CEO of the Boston Globe, not a housewife.
18 Apr 2025 17:36:14
Ed, Klopp to Real Madrid, what you saying?
{Ed001's Note - they are trying once more to convince him, but no idea if they can convince his boss, even if they get him to agree. That is where the major problem is.}
1.) 18 Apr 2025 18:11:48
I hope he doesn’t go. Don’t think that club is for him! What do you think?
{Ed001's Note - I think it would be a mistake for him,, they are not a good fit. I am sure he would win stuff, but it is a soulless club.}
2.) 18 Apr 2025 19:27:53
Klopp values life and family time more than climbing the greasy pole. Real are everything that he is not.
3.) 18 Apr 2025 19:56:20
Ed are you implying a scenario where he would coach RM and maintain his position with Red Bull concurrently?
{Ed001's Note - no, not even close to implying that. Where did you get that from? Isn't it obvious I mean Mona? She was the reason he stayed for an extended spell at Liverpool, she is why he retired from club management.}
4.) 18 Apr 2025 21:28:08
Exactly why I’m confused why Trent wants the move.
5.) 18 Apr 2025 21:39:06
lol I didn’t even think of Mona until you mentioned it ed1!
Be interesting to see what’s Klopp could do there.
On flip side, Klopp could breathe new life and a soul into that club.
6.) 18 Apr 2025 23:25:00
Who is Mona? If you're referring to Klopp's wife, isn't her name Ulla? I'm missing something here.
{Ed001's Note - sorry, my mistake, I was out and about at the time and couldn't think of her name and for some reason Mona came to mind. It is old age really catching up with me, mixing up names a lot lately. Normally I would check but on my phone I didn't bother, apologies. Mona of course is the nutrition lady Klopp brought over.}
7.) 19 Apr 2025 00:17:05
No problem Ed. For a second there, I thought Klopp Klopp had pulled a Rodgers or Guardiola move when he was still with us. ?.
{Ed001's Note - hahaha no, thankfully.}
8.) 19 Apr 2025 01:34:26
I can't see why klopp would be interested, he moved away from management because he was finding it hard to deal with the constant ups and downs and wanted something less mental.
I also don't think the group of players currently at Madrid would respond to klopp tactics or methods. Luis Enrique plays a similar high octane pressing game and mbappe wouldn't do it there, can't see why he'd do it at madrid.
From what I know, which isn't much people inside Madrid aren't convinced they can persuade klopp either they're just testing options now they've soured a bit on xabi.
9.) 19 Apr 2025 09:19:34
Agree with most of the comments.
Club management is too much, he’s achieved all he can. League titles in multiple leagues. European champions, domestic cups, club world champions.
National team management makes sense because it’s not a day-to-day job. You don’t get involved in transfers, you only have training sessions when there’s a game/ tournament.
10.) 19 Apr 2025 09:46:27
Klopp won’t go to RM or Brazil.
11.) 19 Apr 2025 12:36:18
Wasn't Klopp's next ambition after a break to coach the German National team?
If he looked like the grim reaper at the end in Liverpool and FSG imagine 2 years at Madrid.
Don't see the Mrs sanctioning it even though the commute to the villa in Majorca is not long.
12.) 19 Apr 2025 12:52:42
Part of the reason he quit is because he was in and out of broad green ozzy. Wasn’t a well man, stress and passion aren’t good for the heart.
You can see how much better he looks out of the front lines of the game right now. I hope he doesn’t go back to management, he’s proven his worth as a manager on the highest stages, he deserves the rest and time to enjoy his family.
{Ed025's Note - hes getting lots of rest in his Trivago bedroom Jerry.. :)
13.) 19 Apr 2025 12:52:14
ED001 I think that's Klopp name for her n all other married men . MONA.
14.) 19 Apr 2025 15:53:44
Edd001 you described that perfectly. Soulless club. Journalist on sky got heat for saying basically the same relating to trent leaving and what Liverpool was compared to mardrid. Same for klopp.
But money talks.
{Ed001's Note - trophies are what talks as well, and being the face of a brand, like Bellingham was sold to join Madrid. Adidas wanted him at Madrid to launch his own clothing range, if Bellingham had joined us, that wouldn't have happened as we were with Nike.}
15.) 19 Apr 2025 16:34:11
Edd001 that's great info, thanks for that. On Bellingham, it might not be a fairytale story there for the lad. I think his games far more suited to the Premier league. He's also becoming more unlikeable to non Madrid fans.
Also on the brand topic, those tariffs have opened up a lot more eyes on those corporations, where they actually make their products and the insane profit margins.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome. Madrid, like Barca, are a thoroughly detestable club imo.}

I’ve thought of nothing else all day. It’s feels so personal. It’s beyond sad and football really pales into insignificance at times like these. I’m sat with a glass of wine and raising a glass to Diogo, our number 20. YNWA.
1.) 03 Jul 2025 18:40:00
Its really hard to take it in. It seems like a really bad dream but it's real and it's so sad. His poor children will never get to hold their dad again. Its truly heartbreaking. YNWA Jota Family.
03 Jul 2025 09:23:20
Diogo Jota has been killed in a car crash in Portugal. Devastating.
1.) 03 Jul 2025 09:25:30
RIP Jota. Devastating news?.
2.) 03 Jul 2025 09:26:00

3.) 03 Jul 2025 09:28:51
Ah God please no.

Terrible news.

RIP Diego, devasting news and puts lots in perspective.
6.) 03 Jul 2025 09:32:23
Oh my god I’m in shock. Devastated isn’t the word. I really don’t have any words.
7.) 03 Jul 2025 09:33:39
Is this true?
8.) 03 Jul 2025 09:34:31

YNWA ❤️.
15.) 03 Jul 2025 09:41:32
Martyn, or was in Spain not Portugal.
30 Jun 2025 19:18:00
Ed1, do you reckon we could potentially sign Isak and Oshimen? Few reports saying we want both.
{Ed001's Note - I doubt it.}
1.) 30 Jun 2025 19:38:53
Wanting and having are not the same. That would be stupid as we only play with one striker and stupid, considering neither will want to be 2nd fiddle.
2.) 30 Jun 2025 20:35:22
Just few articles saying both could be on the cards…. Do you reckon we’ll end up signing Isak then Ed’s? I really hope so.
{Ed001's Note - no. I just don't see them letting him go as he isn't going to force their hand.}
3.) 30 Jun 2025 21:40:24
If we offer enough cash then maybe?!
4.) 30 Jun 2025 23:58:30
Signing both doesn’t pass the sniff test to me lol
Think you got clickbaited!
11 Jun 2025 07:28:58
Welcome to Liverpool Florian!
Next Issak?
1.) 11 Jun 2025 07:33:52
Who da hell is dat?
2.) 11 Jun 2025 08:59:57
Is it Chris, the singer?
3.) 11 Jun 2025 10:29:13
I think it’s pretty obvious! Fat fingers…. Spelling police out this morning, but yes it’s Chris!
4.) 11 Jun 2025 11:30:56
Wicked game he plays. He’s at the Blue Hotel Chelsea sold to themselves.
23 May 2025 13:10:36
I have just managed to bag myself 2 tickets for Sunday! I can't wait!
{Ed025's Note - nice one Marty..
1.) 23 May 2025 13:27:34
Cheers Ed’s! Fancy a celebratory pint?!
{Ed025's Note - i will be having one or two on Monday Marty, i will be the one wearing no red at all mate but i will raise a glass to the champions..
2.) 23 May 2025 13:34:28
Awesome Marty. It’s going to be a day that’s remembered for life amongst fans.
It’s going to be just as busy outside the ground as it is inside.
3.) 23 May 2025 13:51:16
Got any more Marty?!
4.) 23 May 2025 14:22:37
Nice one Marty. I'll be outside.
5.) 23 May 2025 14:35:30
I have a number for more but they ain’t cheap! If you need a number let me know.
6.) 23 May 2025 14:46:25
Nice one, Marty, you're an extremely lucky man, as am I.
7.) 23 May 2025 16:27:09
That’s an understatement Marty.
17 Jul 2025 10:54:00
Going for Wissa! lol what you reckon ed1? Good news or bad for us?
{Ed001's Note - them going for Wissa? Not sure how that would have any impact on a move for Ekitike as they want to buy two forwards.}
16 Jul 2025 18:33:45
Just watched his goals from last season. He looks ok but as you say it’s hard to judge when you take into account the league. Even Werner looked good in that league! I’d rather Isak all day and twice on a Sunday!
{Ed001's Note - Isak is a class apart imo.}
16 Jul 2025 18:26:06
Is he any good?
{Ed001's Note - Ecky Thump? He was last season, but previously he was lots of potential but little actual, so big risk. It is especially worrying as strikers seem to do well there and get a big money move only to flop.}

Cheers ed1! Fingers crossed! Imagine Isak in the same window as Wirtz!

He’s exactly what we need though and I’ve a feeling it will around the £120 million mark once they have signed Entikte (sp) Isak wants to come to us and I’d imagine he’s made this clear to Newcastle and let’s face it, once a player decides they want to leave it’s pretty much game over. Who wants an unhappy player plus if he does stay then his value will get lower as he won’t sign a new contract either. Best time to sell is now.
