There have been numerous rumours since Klopp joined that we have been actively scouting Jonathan Tah. Is there any truth in that and is he a player that we could look at to partner VVD long term?
From what I've read (not sure if correct) he has a €30m release clause, if that's the case it would be a no brainer as he is a talent, is young and for the money wouldn't be a financial risk.

£30 million for a player of his age and current experience/ skill isn’t a risk in that you will never lose money on him. Obviously the release is irrelevant as Ed says so he may be more but It’s not a risk paying that for him imo.

This is a left field rumour. In a podcast conversation with the NY Redbulls Assistant Manager Jesse Marsch, he was asked about developing US youth players. They mentioned Matt Miazga as Marsch used to manage him and he said he is still in Chelsea's roster but has been playing in Holland (Vitesse) . The host was angling that he didn't make it in the PL but Marsch said it's the opposite and he went to Holland for first team experience and there has actually been an approach/ enquiry for him by Liverpool and he has a very bright future in the PL.

If you class watching the World Cup as too much TV then yes, I have been. The rumour was not that he has a bright future, true, that's conjecture. It doesn't matter where the source came from, he specifically said that we had enquired about him. That is the content of the rumour, the rest is background. Otherwise it would have just said we'd enquired about Matt Miazga and you, like me, would have probably said, 'who'? It really isn't difficult.

Pepijn Lijnders has returned as first team coach. This is a huge positive for the club going into such an important new season. League progression and consistency will be the goal and he could be crutial.

Do the ED's know of any interest past or present in Jasper Cillessen? He's not in the fantasy league realms of Oblak and Allison and should be a realistic price, he would be an automatic No1 over what we have and would form a natural top of the spine with VVD.

Is this not the problem with every keeper. They are open to the worst criticism and very rare they get any credit (other than a winning shoot out) . There will be examples of every keeper making some kind of errors.
The guy is No2 at one of the best clubs in Europe, he’s the No1 for Holland and is only 29 so has plenty of years left in him. He wouldn’t cost the earth, has a good understanding with the center back that is in front of him and based on his performances for Holland and Ajax is better than what we have.
We will not be getting Oblak or Allison and there are far more positives to signing Cillisen than the likes of Butland or Navas.

I’ve seen him play for Barcelona and he does not look like a keeper that fills me with confidence. Whenever the ball goes into the Barcelona box and he’s playing you can see the defenders don’t look confident, he’s not confident with catching the ball, lacks the physique to challenge for the ball and often stays on his line waiting. The Netherlands don’t have any strength in depth in their keepers, so being number one is hardly a sign of absolute quality at this moment in time. Cillessen is every bit as poor as Navas in my opinion. To me he lacks any distinct quality and is no way in improvement on any one already at the club bar Bogdan.

May I be the first to welcome Navas to Anfield. Yes I'm fickle but based on the 60' I've seen of this games he's well worth getting.

He is not at all worth getting. The Navas or a World Cup game against a sub par Brazil team is going to drop an absolute bollock on a freezing cold November away to Burnley because he’s terrible on crosses and makes mistakes that would embarrass Mignolet. Never, ever sign a player based on a good game in a World Cup. Three words. El Haji Diouff.

Coutinio is the real star in that team but we've all known that for years. Firmino should be in that team instead of jesus and I bet he starts the next game. People saying Brazil were poor and I only caught the last 20 minutes but they looked stunning to me, the defence was shocking but it still took the vision to dismantle a world cup qualifying team with an ease you don't see that often. If Liverpool played like Brazil did in that 20/ 30 minutes (which they do quite often) we would be purring.

Navas 3 consecutive CL medals might suggest he's had more than 1 good game. I could be wrong though as Real are a 1 man team so it could be Ronaldo keeping the ball out of the net on his own as well as scoring all the goals at the other end.

I reckon so jayden. Maybe he is not a world class keeper but he must be good. Real Madrid are the most desirable e team to play for, they could sign anyone and the have gone with navas.
If 8 had a choice between Karius and navas, I would go with navas. He won't cost the world but its an important signing the gk. Klopp is expected to push for the league next year and I don't think we will win it with a poor or even average gk. I don't think it's a guarantee that he will play well for us, in our league. He struggles with crosses and our league is famous for crossing. I'd rather go navas than karius but I'd rather sign someone younger, bigger, better at crosses than navas.

Watched real a lot this season. not much the 2 previous seasons but navas is great and terrible at he same time. I you want keeper to flap and try to punch at every corner. sign him up. Karius is better. It's allison for me,

Prince Hendo, Madrid are looking to get £30m for that clown. He’s absolutely terrible at dealing with high balls into the box and crosses. He played against one of the most bang average Brazil teams in years, that does not make him a world beater. You could stick a tub of lard in goal for Madrid and it would have a chance of winning a trophy. He would be a terrible signing and his weaknesses would be quickly worked out.

What I don’t understand is why not? Especially given all the talk of his relationship with Klopp and also the fact that this his Age, Nationality and skill/ potential fits our business model direction and he obviously knows Klopps system.
The only think I can assume is that Klopp sees something in him that doesn’t make him the right fit for what he is doing, the league or how we play.
You can always make space for a world class teenager, especially when that kid knows, likes and respects the manager. I’m just intrigued as to why it’s an insta NO when his name comes up?
