Looks like we were interested in Marseille defender Caleta-Car in January and had tabled an offer.
He spoke to some journalists today and said,"I received an offer from Liverpool. It was an honour for me to know that such a club wanted me. We decided with the club that I was going to stay. Marseille is also a great club and I still have a lot of improving to do here.â€

Guess that depends how Kabak gets on for the next few months. Thought he did well last night as it happens.

My wild guess is that we will still buy two CB's as well as Kabak, IF Davies doesn't make the grade. My logic being that Matip and Gomez are not reliable options . Kabak i see as the Lovren replacement .
We seem to rate Demiral highly, considering it is confirmed that we bid 50m for him (is he left or right CB? ), with Car being the other most likely option.

In regard of the front 3, we are surely expecting one to leave because otherwise we would not have lined up Sarr in september (only to pull out due to lack of funds) would we? Unless he is going to replace Shak/ Minamino/ Origi?
I bet Salah or Mane would jump at the chance for a big move if one comes along.

Hi Eds,
Southampton have signed Dejan Lovren for £8.5 million. Weren't we interested in him & if the price was so reasonable why didn't we bid? Surely we are a better option than Soton.
Personally I feel they've got a good player at a reasonable price & we've missed out on a great talent. Any defender that may be close to signing for us? All I've heard about is Aspas who's a striker & we really need to shore up the defense. {Ed030's Note - We cant sign every player we are linked with mate. }

With Upamecano leaving Leipzig for Bayern in the summer, I doubt they would be willing to let another CB in Konate go.
