Gutted!

Cou's entourage made a huge mistake here. FSG has spoken and so has Klopp. They will not go back on their word cos they will look like mugs and trust me, Americans businessmen do not like to be made a fool of esp. in public. They have spoke and so has Klopp and in the end, Cou will lose and stay, IMO.

I would like to see Lallana back in midfield today with Hendo and Wiji. A front three of Coutinho, Firmino and Studge, with Lallana supporting should see the goals flow again.

I'm with you except I'd go for Can ahead of Wiji. He is much better with the discipline of Henderson next to him, assisting him with his positional awareness. Without Henderson, Can is a bit mindless.

Great game and a big win. Coutinho and Lallana were excellent, Can very good. Add Studge to the team and we are rocking again. Well done to BR and the team. Sorry if it spoilt the day for all you doom and gloom BR out whinging ####s

I cannot believe the number of so called supporters on here who, egged on by the Chelsea edd, are having a go at BR. How short are your memories? Have we not just had our best season in years, scoring goals with ease and playing the sort of fast paced attacking football that keeps you on the edge of your seats? Of course we had to buy additional players now we have Champions League football, abnd guess what not all of them will work out. If they did BR would be a miracle worker. As for the young lads, who I watch regularly playing for the U21's, if and when they are good enough they will get a chance under BR, until they are ready they will be loaned out to get valuable regular playing time.
BR has his faults and weaknesses, show me someone who doesnt, but he is a brilliant young manager and we are lucky to have him so stop bitching and start supporting. Rant over.

Last nights game really highlighted how important Danny Sturridge will be to the team this season, and how important it is that we bring a suitable replacement/ partner for him before the window closes.

Raheem was excellent again and Coutinho played well first half but the real threat that we had with Luis and Danny up front last year was again missing. I would love Lambert to do well for us, and still think he will contribute, but he definitely slows down our attacking play.

Still a good window for us so far. Lovren, Lallana, Markovic, and Moreno ( if he signs) will all add quality to last nights squad. I know we will have Origi joining us in a year, and again he looks a brilliant prospect, but we can't afford to not sign another striker to take some of the weight off Danny's shoulders if we are going to really challenge on multiple fronts this year.

We are so weak in midfield it’s unreal. Hopefully we get someone in to address this glaring weakness next month.

Great post. Nice to see a really positive message. I agree that we need a replacement for Gini but I do think we will see the best of Thiago at Liverpool this year. Fab, Hendo and Thiago as our starting midfielder three looks pretty good to me.

How many times in the last 15 years has a team outside the big six qualified for the champions league? I can only think of once when Leicester won the league. I’m not saying I agree with either of the new suggested formats but is it not already a naturally closed shop?

NRed

{Ed001's Note - no it's not, as you said Leicester have qualified, which they wouldn't under the new format.}

Being as rubbish as Utd is hardly anything to crow about.
