Interesting to hear peoples mixed opinions on Naby.
I remember being thrilled after watching some of his YouTube highlights when we signed him.
As a player I love the way he plays on those odd occasions when he has a good game. On that rare form he would surely be a regular.
Both Naby and Thiago posess the ability to drop a shoulder and glide past an opponent. Combined with a killer pass that both are capable of, this could provide the edge that the team is currently missing.
I would guess injuries have restricted Naby greatly in terms of adjusting to the pace of the premier league.
While LFC are in this slump, and while Naby is fit, I'd love to see him start a run of premier league games. If there's a player in there, this would be the perfect time to judge his character.
We look doomed to finish outside the champions league places and who really cares about the Thursday night Cup?
I vote we give some of these fringe guys a proper chance, Davies, Ox, shak, origi, naby.1/ 4 of a season, pass or fail, sink or swim. Playing for their LFC careers type of scenario. to be part of a LFC squad this surely needs to be a minimum requirement in terms of handling pressure?

Nice idea, but we should go hell for leather to get maximum points between now and the end of the season. If there’s any chance of getting CL next season we have to go for it.

2.) 12 Mar 2021 15:07:32
We should be able to understand or accept a situation when it hasn't worked out. And when there's no indication that it will either. A single tree does not make a forest, no matter how much you dream and hope for it. Lessons should be learnt. Aquilani and Sturridge never ever rose again to previous levels after injuries. Maybe Keita will get back to previous levels some day, maybe not. But I don't think we should risk his high weekly wages on that. That place in the 25 man squad is too valuable.

Naby's done out here, OP and this is coming from a guy who watched Naby play a a lot at RBL and was salivating at the idea of seeing him do near the same things things here. I am disappointed in hi and IMO, the only way he stays is if we cannot move him or we choose to keep him cos we cannot get the signings we want in midfield. Just my take.

4.) 12 Mar 2021 15:35:42
He can look decent and can do somethings others in the team cant. But we have several players injury prone we need to ship off. he's one of them we need.

5.) 12 Mar 2021 16:36:50
Strongest team possible. Got to get the forwards back Scoring Goals. If they can hit form at the right time we’ll be a match for anyone in the Champions League.

6.) 12 Mar 2021 16:47:16
I think Naby'll be here for a while simply because no one is going to offer what we would be looking for. For what its worth i do think there is a real player there but its going to have to be shown a lot more.

7.) 12 Mar 2021 16:58:20
Sometimes you’ve got to cut ties when things reach their natural conclusion . Naby has had plenty of opportunities and hasn’t really taken them. In similar positions for me are Ox, Shaq and Origi. We can’t let sentiment cloud our judgement and keep these players because 2 years ago they contributed to a CL win. Look at the Aguero situation at City where it looks like he is going to be let go and then Fergie at Utd. Sadly to stay top at the top sometimes you’ve got to make the hard decisions and evolve. Not everyone can evolve with you.

He’s had his chances he’s not the mentality or physical enough to the epl! Stop
Saying their is player in there I’m
Hearing it years! I’m sure every one has a player inside means F all! He’s on big wages and cost a bomb I wish him all the best but get rid!
Way to many injury prone players at the club that put more weight on the lads that turn out every Wk and it’s not helped us at all this season!
No sentimental b#%#^# he won us this n that! It gets you no where!

9.) 12 Mar 2021 17:29:38
If funds permit, I'd replace both Naby and Ox with De Paul/ Neuhaus.
Agree with JK23 about Shaq and Origi moving on as well. Give Elliot a go and sign a CF to challenge Bobby.
Cannot have injury prone and inconsistent players eating up the foreign quota places in the squad. Minamino can go as well. Not good enough to challenge the usual front 3 and Jota.

10.) 12 Mar 2021 17:35:30
Try to relax Jay, you’ll blow a gasket!

11.) 12 Mar 2021 19:01:08
There is a player in there, im pretty sure of that but has he played 10 games in a row, ever? Has he even played 5 in a row? Its been a waste of money but as most are saying how much do you get for Keita now?

12.) 12 Mar 2021 19:50:03
Funny to see so many people have written Keita off and have decided that he's leaving.
The fume will be hilarious when it dawns on them that Klopp doesn't agree and Naby is going nowhere.

{Ed0666's Note - or no buyer can be found

13.) 12 Mar 2021 23:15:08
I don't see him following in the footsteps of Markovic or Balotelli. Klopp sees something in him that others don't, unless Naby wants to go I see him staying put.
Only time will tell if it's the right decision.

14.) 14 Mar 2021 07:32:45
Naby is injured too much, underwhelms too often, and disappoints too much. The only reason he’ll likely stay is there will not be a buyer found for the price (and salary) he’d likely command. It’s been a transfer that hasn’t worked out, plain and simple, and this happens no big deal, but he has done nothing to convince anyone that he is a starter or a valuable asset to the squad.

I'm starting to wonder if klopp has any idea what he is doing. I was convinced that he was the man for the job after the wheels fell off on Brendan Rodgers.
He has got us to 2 cup finals, and took us on a title run last season until we hit some bad form.
I commend him for the above and I commend him for getting us back into the champion's league.
Defensively though we have been a disaster waiting to happen since before the guy arrived. Every armchair fan and clueless pundit appeared to grasp this. Why on earth did klopp fail to a address these issues?
We have all heard lots about the VVD saga but failing to move on to another target just seems ridiculous now?
Ok, let's suppose that the problem is not just down to personnel. Perhaps we needed to change the approach a little? Tweek the system? Provide some coaching? We actually seem even more disorganised than we were last season. If I went to work and performed much worse than i did last year, my boss may consider sacking me.
Salah has been a good signing and has arguably been our best player this season.
Solanke is a good young player who lacks premier league experience.
AOC is an average winger and a poor midfielder who hasn't improved in 5 years.
Robertson appears to have been kidnapped by aliens.
I'd have swapped 3 of those guys for any reasonable central defender. Apparently lovren is carrying an injury and this makes the situation even more frustrating.
I'm not particularly a fan of José Mourinho but he has addressed his team's failings from last season by buying a goal scorer. Spurs seem to progress season upon season by making small improvements and signing the right kind of players to improve their squad.
I'm ashamed to say that I'm starting to think Alan shearer may have a point.

Not 100% cinvinced 4th was an achievment last year arsenal and united just had a worse season but they identified the problems and fixed them. We added salah great signing but apart from him the rest make the bench at best i know if the right target is not available don't buy for the sake of it but surely they should have more than one target.

2.) 22 Oct 2017 22:11:31
Louvren is not just carrying an injury he is also carrying Moreno who constantly exposes his left flank and makes him look a good deal worse than he really is.

{Ed025's Note - its very hard to make lovren look worse than he already is RP..

3.) 22 Oct 2017 23:35:38
Berg, us getting 4th had nothing to do with other teams screwing up. That is false. We were better than them over the season and that is the fact. Let us dispense with this pathetic notion that we only do well cos the others are crap and when others do well, they must deserve it as they are automatically better. Tht is unfair and self-defeating. Nobody gives you anything in sports. You get what you deserve. We took points off these teams, scored more goals then them and were able to finish ahead of them despite having outspent us last season. That is the reality. This season? We shall see.

4.) 22 Oct 2017 23:46:00
Disagree. Moreno wasn't the problem. Not at all. He was one of our best players today. Again. I know what you're saying and that has been the case in the past but it wasn't today. If you saw the game you would see why lovren was replaced in the first half, not moreno.

5.) 23 Oct 2017 00:25:30
Moreno one of our best players?

6.) 24 Oct 2017 10:52:06
Moreno has been one of the most consistently decent players we've had all season. Can't believe I'm saying it lol.
