I see Ole comparing Ronnnie to Michael Jordan, look fwd to when he compares Maguire to Eddie the Eagle.

Peterpan

Love it mate😂.

2.) 03 Nov 2021 16:56:58
OP, the guy is a gift that keeps on giving. Does he know that MJ got a lot of very skilled players like Steve Kerr, Toni Kukoc and of course, Dennis Rodman (not going to even mention Pippen cos that's too easy) playing alongside him, right? The guy never stops talking.

Ronnie plays next to Maguire and Mac-Fred (sounds more like a MacDonald's value meal than a dynamic midfield duo) playing next to him. Yeah he's like MJ, alright, lol.

{Ed014's Note - I’m surprised he didn’t compare him to Jesus as Ronaldo is performing the miracle of keeping Ole in a job!

3.) 03 Nov 2021 17:48:53
I think the wheels might fall off for Ole if City give them a seeing to, at the weekend.

Thrashed by us and Citeh might see the Glazers give him the old heave-ho.

4.) 03 Nov 2021 19:48:51
One thing is for sure, Guardiola will be planting the seed in his players of outscoring us against United.
He'll never come out and admit that, but with United in their current shambolic state this could be their best opportunity for a while to give them a heavy beating.
Or they could just as easily turn up themselves and lose to the inevitable Ronaldo winner.

Ed, how did Robbo get on playing center back for Scotland do you know? Im guessing it was in a back 3 allowing Tierney to play further up the pitch.

Peterpan

{Ed001's Note - no idea, I don't watch international football and it makes little sense if they did that as Tierney has played left side of a back 3 many times.}

1.) 25 Jan 2021 18:38:11
Cheers for the reply young man.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

2.) 25 Jan 2021 18:48:54
He's never played cb for Scotland, Tierney is the one who moves in to accommodate them both. Tierney is decent in a 3 man defence.

3.) 25 Jan 2021 19:09:35
I think robbo is better offensively anyway.

4.) 25 Jan 2021 21:07:17
My bad, thought i read somewhere he did for a game during the qualifiers.

Hi all, any idea what injury Thiago has?
Cheers.

Peterpan

1.) 29 Nov 2020 13:50:07
A sore one!

2.) 29 Nov 2020 14:15:42
We are just going to have to be patient as regards to Thiago, he suffered a bad tackle, as soon as he is fit and available he will straight into the first team, and the service to the front line will go up a extra level.

3.) 29 Nov 2020 14:17:48
Does anyone have any real knowledge on Thiago (Ed 2, 1?) and why he seems to be out for so long, and is he really close to returning? So keen to seen him on the pitch as he is clearly top quality.

ConsLFC.

{Ed001's Note - they were giving him a fitness test last week, but he has had a setback or a new injury discovered. The club are keeping it very quiet, which is very easy to do at the moment with the bubbles everyone is in.}

4.) 29 Nov 2020 14:48:13
Thanks Ed, let's hope whatever it is that it isn't too serious and doesn't extend his absence.

ConsLFC.

5.) 29 Nov 2020 14:58:58
He could possibly have a trabecular fracture (bone bruising), that whilst not necessarily serious long-term it can be very sore and take a while to settle. It is something that can become very uncomfortable as you increase training load. Given the nature of the tackle it is definitely feasible. This type of injury requires time as he won’t necessarily make it worse but the discomfort will impact function so make it impossible to perform to maximal level.

Only passing on a possible explanation.

Cheers.

6.) 29 Nov 2020 15:26:18
He should’ve had the same fate as Virgil. So the fact we’re getting him back at any point is a bonus.

7.) 29 Nov 2020 15:53:30
Spot on, Liverpoolfc8. Allow the guy to fully recover so he has a better chance of playing more games innige future. Don’t see the need to rush him back just to appease impatient fans.

If you need to watch an incident numerous times in slow motion there is no way it can be deemed clear and obvious, with VAR i would like to hear the dialogue between the Referee and those in VAR duty.

Peterpan

1.) 28 Nov 2020 22:13:57
Exactly. Joke system.

2.) 29 Nov 2020 00:00:24
You are Right but We didn’t do enough to win the game lads. A draw was the deserved result regardless of the VAR. It needs addressing because we should be performing better against Brighton.

3.) 29 Nov 2020 03:05:19
Regardless of seeing things in slow motion, if you go for the ball initially and trajectory of the ball changes slightly due to a touch what is the defender supposed to do? Disappear in vaccum! Salah was castigated by the media for getting a similar penalty in the West Ham game. Welbeck, however, will remain the gentle giant. The biasness in the media circles is also baffling. Also, the ref going to see such incidents in the pitch side monitor seems to be the new scam. He just looked at it few times and made his decision! It appears the decisions of the VAR room are only rubber stamped by the ref. Going to the pitch side monitor is just to appease people. Other leagues can use technology efficiently, but the pl cannot seem to crack the code. Pl has a habit of over complicating things.

Poor Harry Maguire arrested, whatever penalty he gets Fernandes said he will take it.

Peterpan

1.) 21 Aug 2020 15:02:47
Love it! Pretty poor behaviour off Maguire though, assaulting a police officer and getting into a scrap with some other lads. Hope United strip him of captaincy and put him on the bench for awhile. Sounds like he's got a bit to big for his boots!

2.) 21 Aug 2020 15:08:24
Or maybe too big headed.

3.) 21 Aug 2020 16:20:57
I hope they don’t strip him of the captaincy. United had backed themselves into an expensive corner for the long-term by buying him and then giving him the captaincy. Maguire’s United travails have been as predictable as they have been bad.

4.) 21 Aug 2020 17:01:09
Regrettably for Maguire it seems he’s bought into the mantra of “a pint and a fight, a great British night”.

5.) 21 Aug 2020 18:15:13
Did the same people want Roberto Firmino drooped to the bench for a while when being found guilty of drink driving?

6.) 21 Aug 2020 18:48:41
Gerrard got slaughtered for sticking up for his cousin and getting into a fight. If Harry has been at it (and he's a BIG lad) it's only fair he takes some responsibility.

Personally, I think these are working class kids. Grown up in rough areas. And are used to standing up for themselves. If anyone here has grown up in tough neighbourhoods, you'll understand that you have to stick up for yourself, or you'll be walked all over.
But, I bet fergie will be pissed. One thing I have to admit about utd in the 90s 00s, is they not only produced some fantastic players, but they taught them to be good people, to set an example. I know nothing about it, better read the back pages before I put my foot in it again. But it's not the utd way.

7.) 22 Aug 2020 06:41:14
I assume by good examples you’re not talking about Roy Keane, Eric Cantona or Ryan Giggs?

Klopp came out today and said Mignolet starts tomorrow. I can't get my head around it at all.

Watched him on supersport, he was on the panel covering the match and said it was nailed on red.

Sami played in a defensive team which played 15 yards deeper than this one though Nevada.
