Just hearing a rumour in a proper old school way, that my mate knows a groundsman who is satin Mane and Trent have both tested positive for C.V.. Like I say old school rumour so no idea if it’s true. Anyone heard anything similar?

No where from?

2.) 02 Oct 2020 21:12:17
I doubt that. TAA trained earlier today.

3.) 02 Oct 2020 22:01:56
Mane has been confirmed its on the website.

4.) 02 Oct 2020 22:03:49
Mane just been confirmed by the club, will miss the game against Villa.

5.) 02 Oct 2020 22:09:08
It’s Mane according to BBC.

6.) 02 Oct 2020 22:12:28
Welp. Mane self-isolation confirmed.

7.) 02 Oct 2020 22:42:41
Let's look at the positives, he'll be back for the Everton game.

8.) 02 Oct 2020 23:17:24
I doubt he’ll be back for the Everton game. He’s isolating for 2 weeks, no training, ill. He’ll have to work his fitness up and we have a squad to cover him. We don’t really mind what games he misses, just wish him well.

9.) 03 Oct 2020 08:03:38
Barnsey, he’s missing the international break so could argue he may come back fresher then those that have been all over the world. He will still be doing the basics at home, I’d be amazed if he doesn’t have a gym. And come back just as the other return from internationals so I reckon he will be in contention at least.

As for these internationals why we having them? There is a C.V. going on so scrap them imo, allow the domestic season to be shorter then have an extended international period at the end of the season when hopefully we out of the worst of it.

10.) 03 Oct 2020 11:04:29
You could be right, personally I don't think he'll play. Maybe as a sub? Hopefully it affects him mildly like most people under the age of 30 and his game fitness doesn't drop. Remember the gap between last season and this was a similar timeframe and a lot of players looked leggy.

I hope we don't rush him, Everton or Ebbsfleet the player's health matters more than the opposition and challenge can also drain your energy levels. He's a player that always seems sharp but I'd rather we played Jota if there's any doubt, it's why we bought him. All we can do is wait and hope I suppose.

11.) 03 Oct 2020 11:20:18
I agree with that barnsey their health/ fitness must come first.

12.) 03 Oct 2020 11:33:51
Yep, speedy easy recovery, Sadio. Gives Jota a chance.
Really makes me think that keeping a few of these players that Liverpool are trying to sell could be beneficial over the season. Specifically Shaqiri and Origi I'd like to see stay and play as well as perhaps Phillips, if no new CB comes in.

Hopefully the income from Brewster, Grujic and Wilson will be enough to balance the books, for now.

{Ed002's Note - Phillips is staying as he is injured.}

13.) 03 Oct 2020 11:51:29
Shame about Phillips, deserves to go out and get regular minutes!

Just watching the 2006 FA Cup Final and Morrientes just come on. I remember being made up when we signed him, just wondering Ed 1 your thoughts on why it didn’t work out for him?

Red Duck

{Ed001's Note - because he couldn't get used to the style of play, he joined too late and it was too fast for him. Added to that, he never really settled in properly in England.}

1.) 23 May 2020 19:01:31
Thanks Ed, wondered if it was a case of him not manage to settle. Thanks Ed and hope you’re keeping well.

{Ed001's Note - you also have to question whether he was actually as good as we all thought to be honest.

Good thanks mate, how's things with you?}

2.) 23 May 2020 19:40:16
Never looked like he was willing to stick his body where he might get hurt. Technically very good as the handful of goals he scored for us show, but always seemed to want it on a plate.

On the subject of 05/ 06. Opinions on Djibril Cisse? Scored 19 goals that season and his goal in the Cup Final was actually pretty good. But if he had done a better job of staying onside and not routinely blasted shots straight at opposition keepers, he probably would've scored about 30.

{Ed001's Note - he was blisteringly fast and hit shots with incredible power but lacked genuine technique.}

3.) 23 May 2020 21:19:43
I liked cisse. I think he could have become a really tidy player. Injury killed his career.

4.) 23 May 2020 23:07:54
Crikey the fella scores 19 goals in a season and you still complain
I will agree with Ed 001 no actual technical ability but if you watch some of his goals for auxerre they were pretty tasty.

5.) 23 May 2020 23:51:04
Met Cisse a few times, there was one miserable man if ever I met one. Married a girl local to where I grew up and made himself Lord of Frodsham.

6.) 23 May 2020 23:55:49
Cisse should’ve scored a lot more than 19 goals. The number of times he would run in to a great scoring position and simply blast the ball as hard as he could somewhere in the vicinity of the goal. With a bit of composure he could have doubled his tally.

7.) 24 May 2020 09:16:50
speaking of cisse and also having watched the 2006 cup final yesterday, the thing I will always remember about him is when he opened the box containing his winners medal and the look of disappointment on his face, what exactly was he expecting the medals to look like?
Added to that he danced like crazy when the cup was presented on the podium before remembering afterwards he could barely walk.
Not the greatest number 9 lfc ever had, but he was one hell of a character and also scored a superb goal in one of the greatest ever cup finals.

Doing the double in 1986 was among my first memories and going to my first game at Anfield going to watch us versus Coventry, I still remember seeing the pitch in real life it was magical.

What was the reason for him leaving Ed if you know? think he left not long after Souness came in.

Red Duck

{Ed001's Note - I can't remember now to be honest.}
