Just seen an article from naby saying we haven't seen the best of him yet?
Is this a pi** take? 4 yrs and thinks it's only now we are seeing the real naby.

Redcol

1.) 31 Mar 2022 15:20:07
In other words he wants a new contract 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

2.) 31 Mar 2022 15:38:51
He's had a decent season. gets stick when he plays well, gets stick when he plays poorly. Nothing changes.

{Ed001's Note - decent my arse. He has just set such a low bar that now he is performing like a League One player that is seen as decent!}

3.) 31 Mar 2022 16:03:00
If this is him having a decent season i'd hate to see a bad one, mans a liability and an awful flop, can't come quick enough to sell him off, if we are lucky enough to get a fee.

4.) 31 Mar 2022 16:25:05
Well i tell you one thing, there's been many games where he's performed better than his midfield teammates (ie. Milner, Hendo, Ox, Curtis and even fab) yet ye'd still come on here after a win no less to see him slaughtered. I won't pretend Keitas been what people hoped for and has been disappointing at times but this season i would say Fabinho has been the only midfielder at our club that has been head and shoulders above him (as he has been above all our CM's) . The amount of games where Millie, Ox or Hendo has struggled badly yet it would be Keita getting the stick is crazy. Has to be fair lads.

5.) 31 Mar 2022 16:27:41
Will be interesting to see what Klopp and the club decide to do with him.

6.) 31 Mar 2022 16:34:34
I honestly can't anyone signing him with the wages he's on. I can see him going on a free.

{Ed0666's Note - I feel the same Larry he may even get his contract extended to protect his value which is a bit of an oxymoron. Talking about moronic did your wife give in to your primal demands for your birthday? Poor woman is probably in therapy right now.

7.) 31 Mar 2022 17:03:27
Jadon havertz you must be on the wined up mate. Kieta is one of our worst signing ever! And to say he’s been better than hendo is just an insult to our captain!

8.) 31 Mar 2022 17:15:06
Jadon I would counter there have been performances Keita put in this season that have been described by some as "good", "decent" etc. that Henderson or Milner would be crucified for putting in.

I've said it before, Utd apart, his "good" performances this season have consisted of doing the absolute bare minimum that is demanded from our other players.

9.) 31 Mar 2022 17:31:47
Mrs. Larry had a ball 😁.

{Ed0666's Note - plural? 😂

10.) 31 Mar 2022 17:50:11
You know it Ed0666😉.

{Ed0666's Note - I knew your brother came over for your birthday mate 😂

11.) 31 Mar 2022 18:37:29
To be fair Keita has played well in about 10 games this season. It's still not enough to justify how much he cost but hopefully will be enough for someone to make an offer for him.

12.) 31 Mar 2022 18:50:30
Never said he was better Longthing, just that he has been better in certain games. Some people have their minds made up so can't see anything else. For instance i don't think Origi is good enough to be here, hasn't been for years and should have been sold summer 2019 but if he does come on and do well i give him his due.

13.) 31 Mar 2022 18:55:58
I thought he has done well in some games definitely this season. Klopp likes him and plays him more regularly than a lot of other midfielders. that's good enough for me, certainly room for improvement.

14.) 31 Mar 2022 18:56:00
Can’t agree more with Jadon. People act like he’s been bad when he’s had some good games especially recently. And his biggest criticism was not putting a shift in, which he has also done recently.

15.) 31 Mar 2022 19:28:34
Naby is being graded on a curve, IMO. He has been a shambles overall at the club and cos the bar being used to judge his perf. this season is on the floor or close to it, does not remove from any of that, IMO. I would gladly see the back of him before I see Milner, Hendo or Jones or any other midfielder leave in my book.

16.) 31 Mar 2022 20:15:37
Keita our worst signing ever?
Has someone forgotten Balotelli, Diouf and countless others?
Comical hysteria.

17.) 31 Mar 2022 20:54:31
Keita is the worst signing ever with the money paid!
All he’s he’s been ok this season is that a joke it’s not good enough! He’s p#%% poor absolute dud of a signing 4 seasons anyone else would of been hung long ago!
He’s a klopp signing so that’s why he stays and that’s why he will be played!
He won’t be gone in the summer either
He doesn’t tackle he doesn’t run and he hits passes like a he’s kickin candy floss!
He’s prob a sound lad etc but that’s not what he’s here for!

18.) 31 Mar 2022 20:57:09
Flash 👏.

19.) 31 Mar 2022 21:50:14
Not seen the best of him yet?
100% agree.
Any chance ya want to pull your finger out Naby and show us your best then?

And yeah he’s well in the running to be the worst big money signing we’ve ever made. I think Aquilani is ahead of him but not by much.

20.) 31 Mar 2022 22:18:18
Naby cost us 4x what Balotelli did and 3x what Aquilani did (although inflation in football offsets the latter to a degree. £20m was a lot more money in 2009 than in 2018). Whilst I personally consider Balotelli or Diouf the worst, I do understand the logic when people say Naby is the worst one we made given the price tag.

{Ed0666's Note - Andy Carroll? He’s gotta be the most diabolical transfer in the history of LFC surely? WTF was Kenny thinking??!!!

21.) 01 Apr 2022 05:19:41
Can I offer James William Charles, aka Jimmy, Carter as the worst ‘footballer’ for want of a better term to ever play for the club.

22.) 01 Apr 2022 07:42:47
Christian Poulsen, Paul Konchesky, Igor Biscan, Joe Cole? Many us not lived up to expectations and return on investment has been awful. However he is still a somewhat competent midfielder half the time and played a part in the side of our recent triumphs, so I cannot count him among one of our worst signings despite my wanting to see him replaced.

23.) 01 Apr 2022 08:17:19
If 99% of the posters can see that Kieta is terrible and Klopp can’t and continues to pick him including in a domestic final then is that a reflection on Klopp or us?

24.) 01 Apr 2022 09:07:54
Obviously it means Jurgen is a terrible manager and we should replace him with Fat Sam straight away.

25.) 01 Apr 2022 09:08:04
i would offer Paul Konchesky to that list, but for the money Paid Keita has to be up there.

26.) 01 Apr 2022 09:52:48
I can't wait for the ranting when Keita signs a contract extension.

27.) 01 Apr 2022 10:02:24
@JK23: 99% of posters is an exaggeration but even if it were an accurate number I’d still side with the big German lad 👍.

28.) 01 Apr 2022 10:15:55
WDW I always like to exaggerate mate. Just ask my wife.

29.) 01 Apr 2022 11:05:35
Igor Biscan came somewhat a mini cult hero in the end for his role in the CL semis against Chelsea when Alonso was suspended

Defended with all his life.

30.) 01 Apr 2022 12:39:42
JK23 the only reason kieta started the cup final is because Thiago got injured in the warm up. Other wise he was on the bench mate.

31.) 01 Apr 2022 12:41:43
For me any player that has been part of a playing squad that’s won the League (after 30 years) CL, Club World Cup, Super Cup and League game regardless of whether they played a big part or a small part cannot be in a discussion as our worst ever signing.

The lad might even be part of a squad that wins another league, CL and Fa Cup in the next few weeks.

He’s not been the great signing everyone was hoping for but it’s nowhere near as melodramatic as some people make out.

If some were to be believed Klopp won all them trophies despite only ever playing with 10 men or sometimes 9 as Naby and before him Wijnaldum went missing every game.

{Ed001's Note - every team has players like that, most also have much worse players than Salah and Mane to provide the goals. So what is your point? There is plenty of teams that won trophies with dross in them, it doesn't mean they are great players because they won something. Keita is a terrible signing and would be nowhere near the team if all players are fit and on form. I don't care what the team won with him in it, until he starts to become a positive influence on performances on the pitch, he will always be in the discussion as worst signing. So far he has been nothing but a negative influence who is the biggest flop signing of the Klopp era.}

32.) 01 Apr 2022 13:04:58
Balotelli was so bad for us we let his contract expire if memory serves me correctly. He went on a freebie, after Brenda lashed out around £16 million on the WOS.
Anybody thinking that Keita is in that same bracket is being bent out of shape by their own hatred.
YNWA unless I don't like ya, or something along those lines.

{Ed001's Note - it is nothing to do with hatred, but Keita cost 3 times as much and is paid 4 times as much. It is superfans with this idiotic notion that a player who is not trying cannot be criticised that are bent out of shape.}

33.) 01 Apr 2022 13:09:01
Ed001 that’s fair enough mate. That’s your opinion and who am I to argue against it. And that’s the beauty of the game and club we’re not all going to agree on everything.

As I said originally it will be interesting to see what the club decide to do with him when the time comes.

{Ed001's Note - I would hope he will at least make it a difficult decision over the next few weeks, but so far there has been no sign of it.}

34.) 01 Apr 2022 13:27:34
Cant see him not being here for at least next season as it looks like the Ox will be moving on.

35.) 01 Apr 2022 14:42:46
Klopp chose to replace Thiago with Keita in the League Cup final, not Milner or Ox. He also initially put him on the bench instead of Jones who had plenty of minutes in the LC this year. It doesn't say much about those 3 if Keita is a League 1 player at best. Klopp likes him clearly and I expect him to be around next season.

Worst signing of Klopp era, no doubt about it. Certainly not the worst player ever.

36.) 01 Apr 2022 15:43:14
If it isn't hatred Ed001, then it's irrational intense dislike which is the next worst thing. It stops them seeing what Klopp sees, and instead tricks their mind into believing that Keita is sitting in a deckchair in the centre circle with a big fat cigar on the go instead of chasing the ball.
Has he been the signing we all hoped for? Clearly not, but the hysterical shouts of "he doesn't run, he doesn't do anything" are clearly folks just venting crap. "Klopp only plays him because he signed him" is comical too.
Nothing personal against them either for thinking that way, if they need a whipping boy in their lives then so be it.

{Ed001's Note - bollox. You are the one that thinks you know what Klopp sees, rather than just talks about what you see. How do you know Klopp isn't picking him just to rest others? Or because he has no choice as the others are in the red zone etc? If the full first team is available Keita is not on the pitch, that is the long and short of it. Keita is lazy, he has been taken off for not working hard enough, so you telling me that people are venting crap is simply you venting crap. I give up, superfans just don't want to admit the truth, they just want to cover their eyes and ears and pretend everything is perfect. I am done with this topic, pointless talking to someone so deluded that they think Keita is fine with the contribution he has made to the club for the tens of millions he cost in fees and wages.}

37.) 01 Apr 2022 16:41:56
He's definitely improved his game. Keita has looked stronger on and off the ball this season, to his credit. and he seems to be communicating more in games. Needless to say, I'd be playing him more to encourage suitors to buy.

38.) 01 Apr 2022 16:43:10
Keita shouldn't be near the team, he has nothing about him that a player needs to be a success in the prem, he strolls round like he's Gerrard, Klopp only talks about how good he is in training, that's with minimal contact and plenty of time to showboat, he is awful and can't leave the club quickly enough for me, wouldn't get near any other top side in the league.

39.) 01 Apr 2022 17:46:49
Honestly forgot about Carroll, 666. He must've made me so miserable that I drank floor polish to expunge the memories or something.

But thinking about it, I'd still consider Balotelli worse. He made Carroll look like Firmino.

40.) 01 Apr 2022 19:33:49
Ps. Know it will offend some, but I'll look forward to Ox moving on too 😇.

41.) 01 Apr 2022 21:24:09
"Looking forward" is a bit strong, but I expect Ox to move on for the benefit of both parties. He's fairly knackered I don't think anyone's under any illusions that the player he was in 17-18 is coming back.

42.) 01 Apr 2022 22:39:45
Yeah, he's had a tough time with injury. But for me he falls into the category of classic English midfielder- overhyped at a young age and caps when the pace and step overs stop beating defenders. Another Walcott who wanted to play in a position that he isn't as effective in. A few long drill goals and he's a hero again. It frustrates me. Just saying, my therapist told me to get it off my chest 😅.

43.) 03 Apr 2022 19:51:14
I like Ox and think he is a useful squad member that offers goals from midfield, something not many of our midfield do. That said we have Hendo, Thiago, Fabs, Jones, Elliot, hopefully carvalho next year and the evergreen Milner and somehow even Naby ahead of him so it makes sense for him to move on. Such a shame as there was a time he was so on form he was one of the first names on the team sheet before the injury’s just wrecked him.
