Alright eds, any interest from us in Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella?

{Ed001's Note - he has come out publicly and said he would like to join us, hence the reported interest. He has been monitored but we have shown no signs of actually doing any more, as of yet, than keeping an eye on his progress.}

1.) 16 Oct 2018 09:19:26
Is he any good Ed?

{Ed001's Note - very highly rated mate, not seen anything of him yet to judge him sorry.}

2.) 16 Oct 2018 12:02:05
Cheers ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

Sorry if this has been talked about b4 but ed001 iyo why did Danny Ings not make the grade at liverpool? Was it the injuries, or did he not want to sit on the bench?

{Ed001's Note - injuries, simply that.}

1.) 12 Jul 2020 21:00:51
Injury ruined his time with us, unfortunately. Of all the players that have left LFC since Klopp arrived, Ings is the one departure I regret happening.

Heaven knows what might have been had those injuries not happened. Keep in mind OP, that he had two devastating knee injuries and the fact that he not only still has a career but he is ripping it up, is a testament to his mental strength and immense ability and talent.

2.) 12 Jul 2020 21:57:49
I’m really pleased about his form this season - I he didn’t do anything wrong, he was just desperately unlucky. Seems only right that he is showing just how good he really is with Southampton. Good luck to him for a change.

3.) 12 Jul 2020 21:58:16
Yeah I remember the injuries but I always thought he suited r pressing style of play. Was more wondering did he choose to leave or was he not wanted?

09 Jul 2020 21:33:19
Being honest, this VAR is turning me off the game.

1.) 09 Jul 2020 21:54:19
It's their 13th pen awarded in the league this season, almost double 3rd place, not surprised 😂.

2.) 09 Jul 2020 22:09:37
It'll never turn me off the game, but it is ridiculous. They're looking at everything like it's all objective, it's not mathematics, it's the beautiful game. I've never seen as ridiculous a decision as the spurs one. Where matey fell over, morra. I don't think they have a choice but to wait till the season is over, then they can revisit it and readjust it.

This says it all; there have been just as many bad decisions since it came in as there was before. OK, the offsides have been sorted (nearly) but the hand balls by strikers. It doesn't work. If I had a choice I'd keep it but get it sorted. I don't have answers, but I hate conceding a goal that should have been disallowed more than I enjoy scoring a goal that shouldn't have been (unless its against utd where I get a perverse pleasure over it)

I agree though, in its present state it is an absolute embarrassment. Games flowed better before and I wonder if refs are getting pissed with it too?

3.) 09 Jul 2020 23:16:58
They get one every game. There’s a handful of them that are not penalties, not just this one. This VAR goes deeper than penalties though it’s been atrocious, get rid!
Common sense has been over ruled by replays and armpits.

4.) 09 Jul 2020 23:40:59
Robbiesline - You shouldn’t give a damn what refs think, frankly. They are the reason VAR has been so badly implemented in English football. If refs they did their jobs properly, incidents like the absurd penalty decision tonight would not happen.

5.) 09 Jul 2020 23:46:23
Thankfully it looks like fifa are taking over var. not sure how much of an improvement that’ll be but something had to change after this season in the PL. If the World Cup was anything to go by it’ll be a lot better run by fifa.

6.) 10 Jul 2020 01:17:41
I dunno lowel mate. Linesmen and refs {especially in the last 15 years) see things that are so tight and so fast it is amazing. Especially when you see a replay and the ref called it correct by a centrmetre. I'm no ref lover BTW, but they must take pride in their jobs to rise to pl ucl level. And they are now bound by these new rules which can over rule z ref. So I bet there are loads where the ref thinks "that should've been given" but had to follow the law. Maybe not. Look they get loads wrong but no more than Var does, and Var has all the time in the world.

26 Jun 2020 20:16:10
Congratulations everyone still celebrating? Yeah me too. Yoooooooooooooo.

24 Jun 2020 23:44:56
Excited and anxious we await r dream. YNWA.

1.) 25 Jun 2020 00:53:59
There'd be some poetic justice to Chelsea helping us win the title.

2.) 25 Jun 2020 08:46:24
Neco has quick enough feet to play in midfield so good options for the future.

3.) 25 Jun 2020 08:39:36
Ha that is so true Robbie! I hadn’t thought of that.

I logged on this morning looking forward to seeing Harry posting about how much he enjoyed our win and eulogising about one of our midfielders.

I’m sure he’d agree the win was a surprise given our lack of playmaker against a deep lying defence.

4.) 25 Jun 2020 11:04:55
Come on? I get what you are saying. But. Chelsea won’t help us win the league, if it was the last game of the season and we were level, sure, but the title is entirely won by the lads themselves. Though, considering the current and future state of the world, I won’t really celebrate until we are crowned champions.

5.) 25 Jun 2020 11:50:02
You know what I mean KR. I knew how it sounded when I typed it. I'm not taking anything away from our lads.

6.) 25 Jun 2020 18:51:33
Robbie. Completely. :) I just don’t want that to be a part of the narrative. It is bad enough with “the C.V. season”. I prefer “record breaking season”. And also. The normal one should win a normal season.

7.) 25 Jun 2020 19:30:13
With you there, KR. I see what Robbie is saying as well BUT like you, Chelsea ain't doing us a damn favor cos they have their own ambitions to fulfill. We already fulfilled ours way before tonight so the need not be part of the narrative, as you say.

24 Jun 2020 21:07:56
If we already have the league won b4 the city game will city give us a guard of honour?

1.) 24 Jun 2020 21:33:39
Pep might make them do it to motivate them for next season.

Doesn't bother me either way. We'll still have won.

2.) 24 Jun 2020 21:36:18
They better LOL.

3.) 24 Jun 2020 21:54:33
I'm pretty certain they would.

4.) 24 Jun 2020 22:08:16
Pretty sure pep said he would.

5.) 24 Jun 2020 22:17:55
They should and I think they would.

6.) 24 Jun 2020 22:26:28
I believe that a few weeks ago he has already said that they would do.

7.) 24 Jun 2020 22:55:45
Will be the longest guard of honour in history too, if already city player is socially distanced. will have to do the length of the pitch.

8.) 25 Jun 2020 00:08:25
Yeah, they'd be pretty petty if they didn't. I think they will. I'd like to think our boys would have the class to do it. One thing you can say for city, they do have a bit of class. Just not as much as us!

9.) 25 Jun 2020 19:36:50
It would be a complete PR disaster if they didn't give us a Guard of Honor should we win the title tonight.

Tbh I'd prob go back to see old family members and by accident mess the whole time travelling thing up. Get stuck in 1930 visiting some aunt I hardly heard of. Have to get a job down the mines and eat her stew for the rest of my days. Lol.

Was impressed by Jones and Williams today. We should and could have won 5 today, that's what happens when u don't take your chances. Lesson learned.

The people in charge of VAR r ruining the game that's what they r doing. Fact is a professional referee took 5mins and still thought that was a pen. Game gone lads.
