Anyone any updates on Lallana? or is it another injury?

Origi seems to have a niggle as well when he came off.

1.) 30 Jan 2020 23:52:00
Origi just had cramp. At least that's what he said.

Hopefully that's just the case.

Morning Eds,

Ed001 always states about Salah/ agent are keen for him to get a move to Real.

I was chatting to an ex colleague of mine who works with a energy drink franchise within football. He also has close ties to Liverpool. He more or less confirmed that there is a more than high chance that Salah is gone in the summer.

Stating that Liverpool also have quite a big war chest to play with in the summer.

He named 3 players they are looking at one being Mathieu Gonçalves was one as back up to Robertson. tbh I havnt heard of him.

any ideas?

{Ed001's Note - I am pretty sure that it is not me that states that, though it is true.

Goncalves is just a kid at Toulouse, so I know little about him, he is just 18 and I have no idea if we are interested sorry. I will add him to the list for a player profile.}

1.) 27 Jan 2020 09:34:39
True that there is a high chance Salah go’s in the summer. I hope not! We need to keep the squad together if we are going to compete for a prolonged number of years.

2.) 27 Jan 2020 10:14:12
I’m personally ok with Salah leaving. His lack of team spirit and increased greed are becoming an issue for me. Super player but with the money we’d get and our current status in European football, I’m confident we would replace with an equally good player. He’s the most replaceable of the front 3 in my opinion and of any of our top players.

Forced to choose losing one of Mane, Bobby, VVD, Alisson or Salah, it’s Mo all day long.

3.) 27 Jan 2020 10:39:01
I get what your saying Shaq and he can be a little greedy but what he does for the team is going to be very hard to replace imo. He scores as many as top Strikers do. His assists and work rate is top notch also. He drags 2 or 3 players towards him creating space for others.

I for one certainly hope he doesn’t leave. I can’t think of many players who score and assist as many as he does? .

4.) 27 Jan 2020 10:50:00
We would be crazy to let mo go! Yes he’s greedy all top strikers are. He is key to the way we play.

5.) 27 Jan 2020 11:26:53
Players come and go.

Remember the feeling and emotion, and the arguments when Torres left? Or Coutinho? Or maybe some others? Few came in after, some even doubted by some supporters. And now we are top of the league.

I am with others here. I really hope it'll be the same team for next season, maybe some additions. But if someone leaves, and Klopp is still here, I think I am okay with that. I am sure he'll know what he needs to do.

6.) 27 Jan 2020 12:06:41
We wouldn’t let him go without a suitable backup I’m sure.

Salah is an extraordinary player, and while I’ve always felt his finishing could at time be inconsistent, the sheer number of opportunities he creates is incredible.

He’s always a threat, and there aren’t many players you can say that about game in, game out.

7.) 27 Jan 2020 12:26:17
While you are at it ed1 could you add Diego Carlos, the CB at Seville to your list for a profile. He's been linked to many clubs including yous lot for a quite significant fee but never seen him play much myself.
Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - that's fine mate, he is already on the list. Which is good as I have not seen much of him either so I get to watch him.}

8.) 27 Jan 2020 14:27:18
Any chance of telling us the other 2 players your mate said were looking at Stral?

9.) 27 Jan 2020 16:18:27
ed001 I don't see salah going anywhere come the summer he will be 28 in the summer and the fee we would want would be greater than Coutinho then only for that team to lose him for up 6 weeks in jan and feb. There would only may be 5 teams he would leave us for PSG Madrid Barcelona Juventus or Bayern. 3 of them have very big building jobs ahead of them so am not sure if they would have the money to spend on Salah. and as for Shaq Attack point about being the most replaceable I don't know where you stand on it ed but if he gets over 20 league goals this season I would never think that is going to be easy. He drives me mad sometimes when he ignores an easy pass but his running in behind defenders is non stop and people need to remember you don't know what you have till its gone.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think he will be easy to replace and I will be gutted when he goes. I don't think it will be this summer either, despite his agent's best efforts.}

10.) 27 Jan 2020 16:37:23
agree ed001 I love the whole squad we have at the minute but the front 3 are very special and 2 might have an of day but 1 of them all ways turns up. But I can't believe some of the stick he gets of some of are fans Suarez was the last forward to score 20 goals a season for us 2 years on the trot before him I think it was fowler but if he gets 20+ this season I don't know who was the last Liverpool player to do for 3 years.

{Ed001's Note - we are very lucky right now, long may it last!}

11.) 27 Jan 2020 21:43:29
It is a privilege to play for our great club no one is bigger than the club remember when Ian rush left king Kenny packed in we move on if they want to go let them there are plenty of world class players would love to don the red of liverpool.

12.) 28 Jan 2020 12:42:17
Have we arguably got a little Mo in waiting in the form of Elliott?

13.) 28 Jan 2020 23:05:23
On my sons fifa I sold salah added 25 million nike further added a £75 million bung under the table cleverly hidden in a lucrative sponsorship on a new line of jock straps they have created to hide the bung and bought mbappe so I didn't even notice salah had left i never realised fifa had such depth and skulduggery in their games my son assured me that if enough people do the same on their fifa ultimate team its 99% sure to be nailed on.

14.) 29 Jan 2020 05:25:23
Agree similar in style but a very long way to go before you can say in terms of impact on game Silvered. They are worlds apart in terms of quality - exactly as it should be given he’s so young.

15.) 29 Jan 2020 06:57:02
Why do you compare Fifa to real lofe football 😂.

16.) 30 Jan 2020 00:49:20
I'd be gutted to see any of our star forwards leave but the positive thing to consider is that if we were to sell currently we are in a position of power, all are on long contracts, we don't desperately need money, players aren't publically fuelling transfer wishes and right now we are capable of targeting the best players around in the transfer market. If we have to lose salah then it's best to lose him when we are in a position of strenght to get the best deal and have the best chance to replace with quality of his level. It's the likes of Torres being replaced by Carroll, Alonso by aquilani, Suarez with balotelli or sterling never being replaced. In the last decade when our best players moved on, we were miles away from being capable of filling their roles due to multiple reasons I've listed which we now have working in our favour.

17.) 30 Jan 2020 21:39:49
I agree with Har_red92. It would be a massive loss, but we can literally attract anyone in world football at the moment. Every team needs to keep evolving or they go stale, like city a little bit this year. So if he moves I think we’ll be ok. Jurgen isn’t stupid and he’d get in a good replacement.

18.) 30 Jan 2020 22:54:55
Tend to agree with Shaq Attack - Salah drives me crazy when he doesn't pass the ball!

The problem is that I can see the players around him growing frustrated with him. I've seen Mane and Firmino throwing their hands up in the air. Even Ox doing it last game.

Klopp has created such team spirit that I hope Salah nurtures more. I find him specially selfish when Mane is in good positions and I find Mane the most frustrated out of everyone just by their reactions on the pitch.

24 May 2019 08:12:29
Morning Eds,

Any update on Adrien Rabiot I remember a while back that it was touted that Klopp and Liverpool were keen.

Has it cooled or are we still interested in signing him?

{Ed001's Note - we are not going to meet his financial expectations.}

1.) 24 May 2019 10:36:43
I’m quite interested to see where he ends up, you would assume he would of agreed somewhere in the background.

As you say, whilst he is a “free transfer” his total costs will be astronomical.

Where do you think he will end up?

{Ed001's Note - not a clue, maybe Man Utd due to the costs involved.}

2.) 24 May 2019 10:42:38
His mum was a big part of the problem wasn't she?

3.) 24 May 2019 12:43:42
Thanks for the heads up Ed001,

a talented lad that's for sure. As stated, you would think a move would be close to happening or if not completed already.

Money talks! Sadly.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

4.) 24 May 2019 12:58:46
If Ramsey is getting those daft wages at Juve on the open market Rabiot will want something similar.

5.) 24 May 2019 14:02:21
Don’t see why we need another midfielder to be honest.

6.) 24 May 2019 14:31:36
It's a common theme these days for players who let their contract run down then go looking for whatever club will pay him the most. Meyer going to Palace, for example. I wouldn't want any player that thinks he the dog's b*/ / #x or puts money first. It's pretty short-sighted and usually not in the best interest of their career. Pricing themselves out of a deal with a top team and ending up at a mid-table club for more money shows they value money over ambition. Have fun at Old Trafford, Adrien, we have no place for mercenaries.

{Ed001's Note - there is a lot more to it than that.}

7.) 24 May 2019 15:35:24
Has been treated like poo at PSG, I would run down my contract too if I was in his shoes.

8.) 24 May 2019 16:24:08
What goes around, comes around. Takes two hands to clap. It's life. Two sides to everything. If he got poo'd on he must have done some pooing himself. 🤷‍♂️.

{Ed001's Note - that is absolute nonsense. Innocent people are murdered every day for nothing other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. They haven't done 'some pooing'. Life is not like that at all. The rich poo on the poor all the time for no reason other than they are poor and can be taken advantage of.}

9.) 24 May 2019 17:20:53
He hasn't played in 6 months.

10.) 25 May 2019 08:57:28
Sounds like he could be a 'problem child' from my limited reading on his issues at PSG so I'd rather pass.

23 Jan 2019 11:17:26
So twitter world going nuts over Mo deleting his account after a cryptic message.

So here starts the paranoia!

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what has happened but I have explained about his agent demanding referee's provide him with protection from other players calling him "cheat" easch time he dives. This apparently constitutes them not showing respect to him. For now, he does not appear to have any options even if Liverpool would sell - again I have explained what has happened in respect of Real Madrid. I would not worry about anything at this time.}

1.) 23 Jan 2019 12:45:16
Maybe he just wants no distractions for the run in. Wouldn’t worry.

2.) 23 Jan 2019 17:47:36
His last comment wasn't that cryptic. He's basically saying he has enough of the social media way of making contact with people and it's "time to get in touch for real".
I wouldn't read to much into it or give it legs.

{Ed002's Note - You want him to touch you? For real, where?}

3.) 23 Jan 2019 18:03:18
But Ed002 "He's Mo Salah he can do what he wants" lol.

4.) 23 Jan 2019 21:20:42
Sometimes you just set yourself up with those killer lines from ED02!

5.) 24 Jan 2019 00:45:57
His agent doing no one any favours then.

6.) 24 Jan 2019 05:28:36
Ed002 Killing it. I thought Ed025 will be your big rival. But recently, his lines are like Everton results ;)

7.) 24 Jan 2019 13:35:52
Delighted he’s left social media, well done Mo 👏.

15 Jan 2019 12:14:49
Any one else hear that TAA is out for at least 4 weeks?

1.) 15 Jan 2019 12:20:22
I have not heard that but that is worrying news. Might have to resort to Fabinho or Milner filling in there.

2.) 15 Jan 2019 12:29:40
Confirmed, Gini a doubt for the weekend too.

3.) 15 Jan 2019 12:39:59
Never understood the Clyne situation. End of season yes season short sighted. Gomez and TAA out. Has to play Milner. can't play Camacho against Zaha.

4.) 15 Jan 2019 12:41:59
Hopefully Matip is fit enough because he'll need to play CB with Milner or Fabinho RB!

Goodness me these injuries!

5.) 15 Jan 2019 12:48:24
play fabinho CB and milner RB. think we well be just fine.

6.) 15 Jan 2019 13:21:36
If we play Fabinho CB and Milner RB then we are left with only Hendo and Kieta in midfield as Gini is also injured.

7.) 15 Jan 2019 13:24:05
Don't forget that Hoever (who came on at CB against Wolves), his natural position is at RB. Maybe he'll be on the bench as cover, but he certainly looked more than competent when he played.

8.) 15 Jan 2019 13:26:41
We will be Ok

Robertson VanDijk Fabinho Milner.

9.) 15 Jan 2019 14:05:19
Matip was on the bench V Brighton so he could well be back in the starting 11 for the Palace match.

10.) 15 Jan 2019 14:28:52
Absolutely no need for panic chaps. We can still put out a strong defence/ midfield against Crystal Palace :

Alisson

Milner Matip VVD Robbo

Fab Hendo

Shaq Bobby Sadio

Mo.

11.) 15 Jan 2019 14:38:31
Hoever's natural position is not RB, he is a CB.

He has been playing RB above his age group much like Joe Gomez did for a long time.

Also, I don't think he should be thrown in any time soon. He is doing very well progressing where he is. The Wolves game should've been a nice cameo for him for 20 minutes at the end, instead he was thrown into the cauldron in a disjointed team.

I would rather play Fabinho and Milner out of position rather than put a 16yr old into the firing line. What if he makes a mistake that costs us a game, or even worse costs us the title? He might never recovery as the "fans" would destroy him.

I think there's a time and a place for young players to be bedded in. As we reach the business end of the season when we're closer to the league title than we have been in years. that's not the right time.

By all means have him on the bench and give him minutes, but don't pin our hopes on him.

12.) 15 Jan 2019 14:56:19
We should absolutely not be relying on a 16yr old in critical PL matches. Milner is a better RB than Clyne so happy to see him start there any day and still have Hendo, Gini, Keita and Shaqiri for midfield. and Fabinho too when Matip and Gomez back.

It’s gutting to see him injured but not a crisis, we have quite a few players who can cover there.

13.) 15 Jan 2019 16:00:13
Talksport reporting it .

14.) 15 Jan 2019 16:36:26
We won’t be relying on him let’s get the lad on the bench and give him more confidence how will we no how good he is unless we try him again.

15.) 15 Jan 2019 16:40:01
If hoever is on a red card from an under 23 s match does this apply to the premier league?

16.) 15 Jan 2019 17:10:37
Love of god Matip is back already Gomez is not far behind milly will play RB.

17.) 15 Jan 2019 17:13:22
Says 2 weeks on BBC, it was done in the warm up before kick off. Should be ok with Fab the new Steve Harkness. 😁.

18.) 15 Jan 2019 17:21:40
I agree with you Reusch. If you're good enough, you're old enough.

Jack Robinson if I remember correctly made his debut against Arsenal at 17 and did very well. Milner, Rooney, Lennon and Jeffers all got thrown in at the deep end at 16. Owen, Mcmanaman and Fowler got a chance at a young age too. Gomez and Trent are now first team regulars too after being given a chance and trusted.

19.) 15 Jan 2019 18:26:16
Epic-How many centre backs have played at 16?

20.) 15 Jan 2019 18:31:44
Cobra666 - The only one I can think of is West Ham's Reece Oxford. Didn't he get man of the match on his debut against Arsenal?

I am however referring to the right back slot, but Hoever showed perfectly capable in the centre.

21.) 15 Jan 2019 18:34:39
Also, Hoever turns 17 on Friday. Happy Birthday to him :)

22.) 15 Jan 2019 20:04:40
Milner will cover RB, no problem, Matip will play, then I think we have a 2 week break, so most players out should be back by then,
Gomez will be like a new player for us,
I think by the end of the season, people will think that VVD and Gomez are probably the best centre half partnership in the world .
YNWA .

23.) 15 Jan 2019 21:24:44
Epic every player you mentioned there is a forward or winger where you can afford to make more mistakes. At the back you simply can’t. If we had a 16 year old at the back Palace would target him with everything they’ve got and it could set him back immeasurably.
Why not just player Milner there who we know we can trust until Gomez and TAA are back. Simples.

24.) 16 Jan 2019 00:09:30
Agree Bobby.

Comments like ‘if you’re good enough, you’re old enough’ are fine, but it’s also about when you choose to introduce inexperienced youth players and against whom.

In a close title race, in a defensive position (where a mistake costs a goal, not lost possession) and against a player like Zaha would not make any sense to me when you have Milner and Fabinho as established international pros more than capable of playing in that position.

Hoever will get him time, but I don’t see Klopp taking a risk like that at this stage.

25.) 16 Jan 2019 00:52:38
Now look, TAA is injured. should have kept martin kelly.

26.) 16 Jan 2019 04:00:33
A 16 year old cannot have a natural position, he’s 16!

27.) 16 Jan 2019 09:27:17
BB I think this game will be too soon for Hoever but a lot of great defenders have made their debut at 17.

Varane - 17
Mendy - 16
Marquinhos - 17
Gimenez - 17
Laporte - 17
Sule - 17
De ligt - 17

Even in the prem you have

Ferdinand - 17
Bellerin -18
Barry - 17 (maybe played midfield)

At some point you have to give the kids a chance otherwise what's the point in the academy.

28.) 16 Jan 2019 16:22:50
Bobby, not really. Robinson, Trent and Gomez aren't strikers or wingers.

I also replied to Cobra about any other Premier League defender starting at the age of 16, and which I could only think of Reece Oxford at West Ham making his debut in their season opener against Arsenal. I know his chances have been limited since then, but a MotM awarded in that game does suggest that he did a bit more than OK.

The list above that Happy Red Pants put forward says a lot. Some of those defenders are some of the best in Europe and they started young. Wouldn't you want Hoever to be mentioned in the same breath as some of those players?

And for the record, I'm not saying that he should be picked ahead of Fabinho or Milner. I'm merely saying that he's an "option" and the idea of such shouldn't be discarded because he's only just turning 17.

Eds,

Are you hearing any info regards the league scrapping games etc if this virus gets any worse?

Im sure they will have something in place games behind closed doors etc?

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing planned in England at this time.}

1.) 28 Feb 2020 20:09:26
Ed002 do you think they will consider behind closed door games?

This thing is going to spread quickly doesn’t seem anyway of stopping it imo. 100+ games of football tomorrow I’m England alone with thousands of people coming into stadiums and mixing with other people.

2.) 28 Feb 2020 20:09:26

{Ed002's Note - There is no need to at this time.}

23 Jul 2019 13:52:44
What's this I hear about Liverpool thinking about making a move for Toby Alderweireld?

{Ed002's Note - Have you been having the auditory hallucinations for a long time?}

1.) 23 Jul 2019 15:37:00
Ok I'll bite? Whose mind did you read? How does one determine that someone is thinking something?

2.) 23 Jul 2019 16:04:43
I tried that last time and the whole thread got removed .
I can certainly hear them . but can't see them

To be fair to STRALFC this Alderweireld thing is all over the place like the Reus and Corneto stories . none are more or less valid, and most likely loads of rubbish.

3.) 23 Jul 2019 17:35:15
I'd take Toby Carvery at this point.

4.) 24 Jul 2019 10:35:33
For the price, the age, and the fact we already have a number of good options at the back I'd be shocked if we went near Alderweireld. Excellent player, but with VVD and Gomez where does he fit in? Would he accept being rotated instead of a guaranteed starter?

28 Feb 2019 10:54:11
After last nights changes I would say it will be the same starting 11 for me. Maybe the only change I see Klopp making is Bobby for Divvy if Bobby is fit.

Something tells me for the run in we will be seeing more of the high press game from Liverpool. Last night was the 1st time in a long time I seen the team press the way they did.

Looking forward to Sunday hopefully the ball keeps rolling.

1.) 28 Feb 2019 11:03:34
Henderson definitely starts the derby. Expecting Hendo, Milner and Keita to play in midfield and Origi should continue as he likes scoring against Everton.

2.) 28 Feb 2019 11:19:28
Fab will start he’s been quailty.

3.) 28 Feb 2019 11:33:42
Why would Fabinho be dropped IB?

4.) 28 Feb 2019 11:33:50
Fab is a starter all day long for me now.

5.) 28 Feb 2019 11:41:47
No way on earth fab isn’t 1st name down for midfield on the team sheet at the moment.

6.) 28 Feb 2019 11:51:49
Ori Man Sal
Fab Wij Kei.

7.) 28 Feb 2019 11:54:13
Why should Hendo play? He can't play at Milners last night tempo, Fabs is far better in the holding role. For me Hendo is 5th or 6th choice right now.

8.) 28 Feb 2019 12:02:40
If Klopp has any sense and its not a bash at any players, he should start with the same team as he did against Watford and bring on Henderson and Firmino if we need to make changes later in the game.

9.) 28 Feb 2019 12:21:18
Drop fabinho and gini? No way are they both being left out.

10.) 28 Feb 2019 12:27:40
Why should Henderson play IB? Both Wijnaldum and Fabinho retains their spot and if klopp drops either of them then he is a fool. Henderson doesn’t score goals to play further up. Play Keïta there!

11.) 28 Feb 2019 12:40:33
I think Klopp will drop Milner for Henderson. Origi's performance may give Klopp confidence to allow Bobby a place on the bench for extra rest unless we really need him later in the match.

12.) 28 Feb 2019 15:39:14
Horses for courses. Henderson is an asset well worth having. When he comes on as a sub I'm always pleased to see him. Not like matip coming on at 1 0 up with 8 minutes to go. He sures things up.

13.) 28 Feb 2019 18:46:20
If anyone has been paying attention to what Klopp does before a Merseyside derby, you will find that Klopp does not start Hendo the game b4 said derby. He did it last season and then this season already. We beat B'mouth (b4 the Everton game) and Hendo came on. Hendo started the Derby. I expect that to be the same. It will be Hendo/ Wiji/ Fab with Keita, Milner and Shaq to come on when needed.

Now I think Stone is correct. Klopp now knows he is under NO pressure to start Bobby if he is not sure he can give his all for the full 90 so he can keep him fresh and bring him on later to further torment the Bitters. On to Sunday.

14.) 28 Feb 2019 22:18:18
We will see Red but I don't think Hendo will play from the start. We have better players in front of him in the squad. Time will tell.

11 Oct 2018 15:07:47
Any ideas when the fixture change for Dec onwards is out?
In Liverpool a few weekends and trying to see what's possible. Arsenal would be good but im 100% sure that will be changed for TV.

{Ed002's Note - Any time now.}

1.) 11 Oct 2018 15:23:25
thanks ed002.

{Ed002's Note - No problem; but it is literally on top of us at the moment.}

Thanks for the heads up Ed001,

a talented lad that's for sure. As stated, you would think a move would be close to happening or if not completed already.

Money talks! Sadly.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

Stuff like this has been going on a life time and will continue to go on.
No matter how many rules are brought in it will continue. All the clubs want is too hit the jackpot once every few years.

Players defs took their foot of the pedal, but the change in tactics helps them also.

Playing the 2 on our centre backs 2 on the full backs and pushing up on Fab, didn't realy give us time to play out from the back.

But mainly our lads thinking it was a done deal.
