Not by next week but next season maybe. It's clear for a lot of us already that many members of this squad are passing or have past their best. On top of the fact that there a numerous players who should have been replaced or let go in this window, yet haven't. I think we will be lucky to finish in the top 4 this season with this squad. All our main rivals have strengthened and we haven't. Chelsea last week was a wake up call. A full house, at home, and with the opposition weakened and a draw was the best we could do. There was no one on the bench that could come on and change the game, and that's the problem. Lack of quality in depth. Chelsea, City, and Man U all have strength in depth and quality off the bench. That is why will will finish outside the top 4 IMO.

United? Strength in depth? The same United that can’t put a competent midfield together and fall apart if one of their defenders gets injured? City don’t even have a striker and Chelsea failed to get the centre half they needed as well.
What you really mean by ‘strength in depth’ is that they all have 5 or 6 forward players of varying quality and usefulness, whereas we only have a meagre, pitiful 4 (not including the youth that are expected to start getting games up top) . Nonsense. Rubbish. Bunkum. Boring.

We just didn't play well that's all. Jota came off the bench btw. The problem was Fabs (understandable), Hendo, Robbo etc were undercooked. We didn't have our normal energy and VVD is probably at 90%. Once the main players are fully up to speed we will be much improved.
We will definitely make the top 4 and most likey challenge at the top. Thiago, Jones, Gomez, Konate they haven't even played yet. Our weakest area last season is now our strongest area. My main concern is Firmino and Mane was of them has to get back to their best.

So Ed why is it incredibly idiotic to have the opinion that we will finish outside the top four? I want to be wrong but i do not see that our overall squad will be strong enough to make it, especially in light of how much stronger the opposition will be this season. You can all mock all you like but the proof as to whether i am justified in my "doom and gloom" prediction will be at the end of the season.

Gotta say I'm happy to go with the squad we have and I'm sure we will challenge for the title. I don't think spending what little money we have would improve our first 11, it would at best have been a back up player who arguably wouldn't be much better than what we have. Much better to wait until we are in a good position financially to improve the first 11.

Minamino! This game was perfect to introduce minamino and make front 4 like couple of seasons back against Arsenal, we would've better Chance coz there was absolutely no threat from middle of the park. I was screaming for him to come for Elliott and give us another dimension in our attack then just keep on repeating everything from wider areas which Chelsea completely. Neutralized us their. Playing minamino just off jota with Salah and Mane occupying half of Chelsea defenders in their side would've made a huge difference : ( just needed him to float around their box with jota and that itself would've created lots of spaces for our other attackers. We are/ were very one dimension and need to tweak abit when we come up against teams who neutralize our FBS coz then our whole system fails and the likes of Salah Mane Robbo, Trent keep on running at blind alleys tho.

Red bull had the faster car for the majority of this year’s championship only Hamilton’s skill kept him as close as he is during that red bull dominance. While verstappen is a great driver to say he's one of the fastest ever is a bit out there. Put Hamilton in that red bull from race one and this championship would have been wrapped up long ago and that shows the difference between a skilled driver over a slightly above average one. Personally I think there’s at least 4 others on the grid who would have wrapped up the championship already if they were in verstappens car it was that much faster than the merc. But due to verstappens ego and petulance he just might have ruined red bulls last chance to win a championship for quite awhile.
