Returning from his holiday in Serbia, Kerkez due to touchdown at LPL at 16:36. First part of medical today. Second part and announcement tomorrow.
16 Jun 2025 10:39:12
I'm starting to see stories saying Wirtz will fly in on Thursday after he returns from holiday. He will then complete his medical on Friday. This ties in with the info given recently (I think it was Akira but I might be wrong) about medicals pencilled in for today and Friday. Here's hoping that today's goes ahead too (maybe Kerkez? ) .
1.) 16 Jun 2025 10:55:57
Fingers crossed ShipleyKopite!
Think it was RedNotice who said that, though he was quite clear that it could change as he had been told similar medicals were booked last week that never came to fruitition as deal weren't agreed in time.
But completely agree that now that a deal for Wirtz is agreed, all looks good for a Wirtz medical on Florian Friday!
And I'm also seeing reports this morning that a deal could be agreed for Kerkez, so maybe his medical could go ahead today, Milos Monday?
2.) 16 Jun 2025 15:00:17
Slight tangent but i genuinely can't remember the last time I saw a double/ multiple signing announcement. I'm talking Hodgson holding up the scarf with Joe Cole, Jovanovic and Wilson. Feel like we need to bring that back tbh.
3.) 16 Jun 2025 16:10:49
No mileage in that loose caboose. The marketing people will know what traffic to the site will look like every day in summer and the announcements will largely coincide with dead times in order to push traffic to the website, or to put it another way, entice customers into the shop.
Any prudent business would do the same.
4.) 16 Jun 2025 16:15:03
I long for those glory days, Caboose.
5.) 16 Jun 2025 16:21:30
Which bit, Woy, Joe Cole, Jovanovic, or Wilson?
No thanks to any of them, to be honest.
6.) 16 Jun 2025 17:09:20
I remember being excited for the joe cole signing only for him to get sent off in his first game if remember rightly? All downhill from there.
7.) 16 Jun 2025 17:27:14
Hodgson? I’d have rather had Joan Hickson as manager. At least Miss Marple had some wits about her.
8.) 16 Jun 2025 17:54:09
I remember being amazed when Ged announced Chris Kirkland and Jerzy Dudek at the same time! If I remember the photo, both of them looked a little bemused and probably shared fans sentiment of "why are we buying both of these really decent GK prospects at the same time? "
Ed001, did you have any insight into why we bought them both at the same time? Smells to me like we were after 1, didn't think we'd get him so signed another but then the original one was suddenly available!
{Ed001's Note - I don't remember mate.}
9.) 16 Jun 2025 18:34:09
Joe Cole, jovanavic, Wilson, were things really that bad ?.
10.) 16 Jun 2025 19:22:09
Phil Thomson tells a story about that.
Basically a bit of wires crossed and when Phil got to Poland talk to Dudek he was terrified about getting out alive.
They didn’t realise Ged was signing Kirkland around the same time.
11.) 16 Jun 2025 19:31:28
Thommo, that famous polyglot ??.
12.) 16 Jun 2025 20:45:45
“Trenta Percenta. Ichten Lichten Nichten, ” said Thommo.
13.) 16 Jun 2025 21:50:58
Florian has big boots to fill? LFC has had top, top class midfield players in the past and present: Callaghan, Mcdermott, Kennedy, Souness, Mascherano, Hamann, Gerrard, Alonso, Alexis, Gravy, "DOM"ination, Florian!
Caicedo was £115 million, Wirtz is reportedly £116 million, would adding another one million to his add ons if possible, not of taken a bit of pressure and the of Florian's shoulders as being equal British Transfer Record, instead of biggest (best! ) British Transfer Record, equally Arne's shoulders as well?
Though in the end he's here which is the most important thing, regardless of the size of the transfer fee which was the ultimate goal.
14.) 16 Jun 2025 23:10:19
Florian Friday by the sounds of it.
15.) 16 Jun 2025 23:30:51
@WhyOWhy, Do you think that Ged actually had a plan to play both at the same time?
16.) 17 Jun 2025 00:51:56
I think Suarez and Carroll were announced and presented together with Dalglish?
24 May 2025 10:17:56
Bayern are apparently looking at Bruno Fernandez now as a Wirtz alternative.
1.) 24 May 2025 10:32:09
They’re welcome to him LOL
up the pool.
2.) 24 May 2025 11:03:41
Manutd Thought they were shopping in Harrods but ended up in Aldi.
3.) 24 May 2025 10:35:44
Someone needs to tell Bayern about Musiala.
4.) 24 May 2025 11:52:22
Not even Aldi more like Poundland for man united.
5.) 24 May 2025 12:28:22
I’ve read that some manc fans believe BF will fetch £120 million? Really?
6.) 24 May 2025 13:26:51
I’ve read Saudi for 100 mill.
He’d absolutely tear it up over there. He’s not my cup of tea but his year in year out stats are really impressive.
And as much as he seems unlikable on the pitch apparently off the pitch he’s brilliant with fans and Utd staff. Seen the other day he regularly meets up with a former old Trafford worker who lost their job to buy him lunch.
7.) 24 May 2025 14:12:48
A bit like Richarlison, absolutely despise the footballer, but he is a decent guy in real life.
8.) 24 May 2025 14:49:24
He is a thoroughbred ball bag of a man, complete tosser, and yes I met him once, but my first impressions were not good.
9.) 24 May 2025 15:13:09
I always felt we missed out on bringing Bruno in before United did. His output and availability was/ is incredible really.
Imagine what he would have been like under Klopp.
{Ed025's Note - still a horrible little turd i imagine FPF..
10.) 24 May 2025 15:35:08
Bruno Fernandez is a terrific player. Can’t stand his crying on the pitch, but he’s the only top player at United.
He also volunteered to cover the cost of the funerals for ex-players who’d fallen on hard times after the club stopped paying.
INEOS refused to let him (Maguire also offered) .
If he leaves they will have a massive player to replace.
11.) 24 May 2025 16:20:27
No matter what i think of Bruno on the pitch i've only heard great things about him off it. so i'm happy to reserve judgement until the day i bump in to him personally
definitely not worth the figures being bandied about for him though.
12.) 24 May 2025 16:40:05
I detest Fernandez and all his whinging and remonstrating on the pitch but he is a decent player and it’s crazy that he would even consider going to that joke of a league. I get why Utd would want him to go there but surely Fernandez has greater aspirations?
13.) 24 May 2025 17:12:40
Fernandez might be a rubbish on the pitch but dudes been putting up numbers in multiple car crash man united sides for years.
Put him in a prime klopp or Guardiola team and I'm pretty sure he'd be getting lampard/ Gerrard numbers.
19 May 2025 17:07:32
Reports saying Kerkez 5 year contract agreed (possible option for 1 year extension) . Clubs close in valuation, final thing to negotiate is the guaranteed amount vs how much will be in additional payments.
1.) 19 May 2025 17:20:58
Hope so mate if we could get a versatile CB and a quality CF in that would be great business, it won't be Cunha as he's off to the Mancs apparently. Wirtz would be a proper statement from the club but I can't se us blowing best part of our budget on a single player when we could get 3 in for what price we'd have to potentially pay for Wirtz it's a pipe dream be great if it came true.
2.) 19 May 2025 17:47:17
Did see one report than this will now rule out Hato for now.
3.) 19 May 2025 17:57:04
Hato to learn from VVD and eventually replace him and be back up LB.
4.) 19 May 2025 18:21:57
"DOM-ination" with the signing assist of a fellow countryman.
"Graven-BLOCK" with the signing assist of a fellow countryman Hato to follow.
Frimpong with the signing assist of a fellow team mate Wirtz to follow.
TAA with the possible signing assist of an old team mate Konate- not to follow "OR":
Kerkez with the signing assist of an old team mate Huijsen to follow.
5.) 19 May 2025 18:25:50
Kaiser Chief - “ {Ed001's Note - I don't think Hato is related as he can play centre-back”.
6.) 19 May 2025 18:56:17
Now, I'm not in any way saying this is going to happen, but at prices quoted, frimpong, kerkez, hato and wirtz would probably cost about £230-£250m. Not an extraordinary amount to spend, especially with an easy £100m coming in for fringe players, and addresses all problem positions (assuming wirtz is for a forward position) . It would be a helluva window!
7.) 19 May 2025 19:56:26
Still need a striker or two in that price
Wirtz would be great with all the new signings and prolific striker
Would make a lot of teams jealous
Still missing a CB as we are too attacking
But I do think Wirtz is off to Bayern but won’t be as upset if he went to Manchester Chelsea or Arsenal.
8.) 19 May 2025 23:12:28
If we go back to last summer my opinion on the forum was that we were most in need of a CF. Jota and particularly Nunez weren’t up to the job.
We have played very well this season and Mo had an incredible 45 - 50 games before his form dropped. In my opinion, without his extraordinary performance and his goal contribution. We would not have been as successful as we were without him and in stark contrast the scoring contributions of Jota and Nunez werevery poor if you compare them with elite CFs around Europe.
My opinion is that our priority is still a CF who can score 25 - 30 goals per season.
Whilst I’d love to see Wirtz at Liverpool - he seems to be a fantastic talent - I’d see him as either the Bobby, false 9 provider role in a 4 - 3 -3 set up or as the AM in a 4 - 2 - 3 -1. Either way I still think we need a CF who scores regularly for a 60 odd game season with us challenging for the league and all the cup competitions.
9.) 20 May 2025 00:09:49
WDW like who?
10.) 20 May 2025 06:58:14
Shane Long.
11.) 20 May 2025 08:10:37
@Mr Jiggles, I’d like Isak or Osimhen but I’d be delighted for Hughes to magic up a rough diamond which is, I think, partly what he was brought in to do.
10 Apr 2025 20:03:19
Kerkez has stoked the flames by liking 2 Fabrizio Romano posts about Mo and Virg signing new contracts.
1.) 10 Apr 2025 20:30:18
Still a Utd fan for me so no ta.
2.) 10 Apr 2025 21:25:23
He is a kid that supported united, so what?
I don’t get this tbh.
He’s a professional sportsman, it won’t matter one iota.
3.) 10 Apr 2025 21:55:47
Macmanaman, Fowler, Owen, Lallana, Rush, McMahon, Carragher. All supported Everton. Yep, there's a judas in there, but by and large I'm happy they played for us.
Lampard supported West Ham, Modric supported Barca, De Bruyne supported Liverpool (pity we never got him, he could've overlapped with Gerrard! ), Terry supported Man Utd, Bale supported Arsenal, Solksjaer supported Liverpool, Sterling supported Man Utd, Pogba supported Arsenal.
Do you think any of the clubs where these players made their names gave two hoots who they used to support whilst they were scoring for their team?
4.) 10 Apr 2025 23:12:47
Bit ridiculous John.
5.) 10 Apr 2025 23:23:13
What am I meant to do with all that information zed? Change my mind? For whatever he said mis reported or interpreted it’s just a no from me.
6.) 10 Apr 2025 23:36:12
Dom is here now John, its a bit like Trent saying he'd never thought of leaving, wanted to be captain one day and couldn't see himself anywhere else then leg it quick sharpish when his chum Jude gets in his ear.
7.) 10 Apr 2025 23:40:11
Fair enough John, you're entitled to your opinion.
Did you also dislike the Everton-supporting Liverpool players too?
8.) 11 Apr 2025 00:49:20
It’s nothing like that at all FM. And it’s not ridiculous.
@zedicus. I don’t dislike him I just don’t want him to sign for us. I don’t remember any of the Everton supporting players saying they supported Everton when asked about signing for us? All there stories came out after they signed for us. I know everyone is not a Liverpool supporter.
9.) 11 Apr 2025 01:22:23
And I don't think Kerkez has said that he support Man Utd NOW. He may have said it months or years ago, just like any of the Everton supporting Liverpool players may have told mates they supported Everton before they joined us.
But everyone didn't have a video phone or social media back then, so (relatively) no one knew. That's why you don't remember any of them saying they supported Everton, because it wasn't reported.
I'm not saying Kerkez is definitely the one for us, I actually have a slight preference for Hato as he can also cover CB and could grow into Van Dijk's heir in time to come, but Kerkez does have PL experience so I'm no prepared to reject him just because of a preference he once expressed over United.
10.) 11 Apr 2025 01:34:44
How is it nothing like that, are we mant to believe he loves utd more than trent loves lfc?
11.) 11 Apr 2025 02:12:21
John please provide the quote. Alls I can see online is that there’s a Man U shirt on his wall during a webcast and the internet has put two and two together. Perhaps it was a shirt swap after a game? After all he’s a professional footballer so very likely. He certainly has never said ‘I won’t sign for Liverpool bc I support Utd’ so let’s put that to bed. He would improve our squad and help us challenge for cups. That’s all that matters.
12.) 11 Apr 2025 02:26:31
Fowler, McManaman and Carragher were hardly interviewed and asked their allegiances when they turned up for trials at Kirkby.
13.) 11 Apr 2025 07:41:22
What about suarez John? Well known to be a Barcelona fan l, would you prefer we never signed him?
Players are professionals who want to have a good career, even if they sign for the rival of a club they supported as a boy their career depends on them playing well.
14.) 11 Apr 2025 08:16:17
John Carra used to train as a kid for Liverpool in an Everton top and was a strong blue till he started playing in the first team. When he was told by one of the coaches after he cheered when he got the Everton result on the team bus this needs to stop now you’re going into the first team. If you can tell me a more diehard red on the pitch than Carra over the last 20 years please do so.
15.) 11 Apr 2025 12:59:19
Carra has said that supported Everton fiercely right up until he made the first team.
16.) 11 Apr 2025 13:46:59
For me, most pro footballers are not really supporters. They have their favourite clubs but they’re not really supporters.
I have no issue with any player claiming to support Man U or anyone else. However, if they decline an offer to play for us then that’s a different matter.
They get one chance, if they turn us down then it’s a final offer.
As Kerkez didn’t really turn down a serious offer, I can let his comment slide.

Just seen the horrendous news about Diego Jota.
RIP YNWA.
30 Jun 2025 18:37:48
Nyoni has signed a new long-term contract. Exciting future ahead for him!
1.) 30 Jun 2025 18:48:15
Delighted. I wonder if he and Rio will get some more rotation time this year?
2.) 30 Jun 2025 18:53:49
I certainly hope so Ship. I have to be honest that I haven't really seen that much to be excited about, other than him coming through at an exceptionally young age which I suppose shows ability above standard for his age group, but I don't know, suppose that's why I'm not a pro but am an armchair critic though!
3.) 30 Jun 2025 23:58:57
Doubt Nyoni and Rio appear more than 5 times this season.
27 Jun 2025 17:17:12
So, as part of the new TV deal broadcasters will be allowed to interview substituted players whilst the game is still being played, enter the field of play during goal celebrations and also enter the changing rooms.
1.) 27 Jun 2025 17:32:22
Does anyone actually want this?
2.) 27 Jun 2025 18:00:59
They'll be filming players on the toilet next.
3.) 27 Jun 2025 18:15:47
If the game's going badly, that's be a right sh1tshow, Babbity.
4.) 27 Jun 2025 18:35:56
I just like to watch the game with the least amount of distractions as possible. God forbid it turns into a reality tv type thing looking for reactions from everyone.
5.) 27 Jun 2025 18:47:52
Interviewing subs. I don't see an issue with this ?.
6.) 27 Jun 2025 18:51:06
Click bait sites will have a field day, i give it a week before a player reacts badly to being subbed and sky blow it out of proportion.
Nothing good can come of these interviews imo.
7.) 27 Jun 2025 19:42:23
Turning the PL into an American reality show.
8.) 27 Jun 2025 19:49:41
It’s two fold reasoning imo.
1/ To increase the USA market, think they do those interviews in USA football (fake rugby one), as is the birth of CWC
2/ Use this interview subs, camera in changing room (as in rugby league I believe), for justification of increasing costs.
9.) 27 Jun 2025 20:31:51
It’s to pander to an American audience…. it was bad enough during our last CL final having to sit through a black eyed peas medley, no one cares about that s**t, I want to hear the crowd sign YNWA, that is what gets me in the mood. Also, I haven’t been watching but I hope the player entering the field one at time that is happening in CWC doesn’t happen in other tournaments. Football is a team game.
10.) 27 Jun 2025 21:20:43
It annoys me when they keep showing a save or a shot on goal over and over when you can hear the crowd im the background actually reacting to what's happening on the pitch.
So interviewing players and stuff while the match is still going I 100% can't be arsed with.
11.) 27 Jun 2025 21:27:43
I'm with you WYred, the press will be straight in looking to get an interview with sulking subs. This will not be of any benefit to football, we already miss a load of action watching them show someone in the crowd, playing replays and the like. I'm sure there will need to be permission from clubs to speak to substituted players. Just play the game, get rid of pundits too and let's just enjoy football again.
12.) 28 Jun 2025 03:26:42
In rugby and league they interview players as they leave the field for half-time. they'll have the head coach answer a couple questions a few minutes into each half.
It's lame, but it's also kinda cool. I find most of it uninformative, but can understand they're looking for ways to increase access.
I'd give all this up and have a mic and camera in the VAR room and then have live audio in the stadiums for refs and VAR to announce the decision and the rationale.
25 Jun 2025 09:50:33
Just wanted to wish Lallana all the best in his retirement.
1.) 25 Jun 2025 10:17:49
Same here.
2.) 25 Jun 2025 10:26:29
He got lots of stick on these pages but I always thought he was a very.
3.) 25 Jun 2025 10:32:44
Never forget him scoring THAT winner against Norwich, an iconic moment of the klopp era, and coming off the bench to score against united.
4.) 25 Jun 2025 10:35:38
Good luck Adam, thanks for being part of Klopps 1st gen team!
And Patrick, you can't just leave us hanging like that!
5.) 25 Jun 2025 10:28:41
He got a lot of stick on these pages but he was always a useful player for us when called upon. Excellent feet, great awareness, good vision, pressed well, tactically smart, loved the club. No doubt this is the cue for ed025 to tell us he was actually rubbish.
{Ed025's Note - I don’t think he was rubbish PB just not very good. Mediocre I would say but has earned a great living out of football so good luck to him..
6.) 25 Jun 2025 11:11:00
Does anything else think Jones is basically Lallana 2.0.
{Ed077's Note - that's quite a shade at Lallana no? Jones ain't there yet.
7.) 25 Jun 2025 12:25:32
Ed25, I always believed that with the sheer ability and silky technique he had on the ball (and esp. being comfortably two-footed), Lallana could have been even better than whatever we thought his ceiling could be.
Maybe he just didn't fancy it and just coasted. Personally, he could have gone up levels with us cos the skill, tech. ability was there in spades, IMO.
{Ed025's Note - i think he done a good job for you Oli especially where you were at the time mate..
8.) 25 Jun 2025 12:47:24
I don't think he coasted. He had a bunch of injuries and when he played for us he curbed his natural game to adapt to what Klopp wanted from him. I would say he was probably the very quickest of all our players at the time to understand the Klopp press and to execute what Klopp wanted from his midfielders, which was why Jurgen loved him so much in the early period of his tenure. I think this was the mark of his quality as a player, his adaptability and willingness to do a job for the team, and we still saw his best qualities from time to time when he needed to evade a press or keep the ball to carry it forward.
9.) 25 Jun 2025 15:21:37
He was good at Cruyff turns.
That’s my enduring memory of him.
Cruyff turning himself out of a phone box.
10.) 25 Jun 2025 15:31:24
Pat, Lallana was guilty of the very same thing Jones is guilty of as in, taking way too many touches on the ball and that used to kill me cos the pass was on with just two touches. Also if he had a bit more vision in his passing as well as decisiveness in his decision-making, he could have been absolutely deadly.
Now he was great at keeping the ball esp. in tight spaces but that is due to his immense technical ability on the ball which could have pushed him further up a couple of gears and this was even before the injuries started. Cos once those started, it was game over. Still did a good job for us esp. at the onset of Klopp 1.0. We really needed his qualities back then, as you say and I agree.
19 Jun 2025 10:05:35
With all of the 'Wirtz flying in today' stories flying around I'm a little disappointed that nobody has posted any flight numbers for people to track.
It's a strange feeling. On here all of the talk and excitement has moved on from Wirtz and Kerkez to a new striker and they've not even travelled in for their medicals yet!
1.) 19 Jun 2025 10:34:26
You're right there, Shipley. It's like a kid at Xmas, who gets fed up of his new toy come Boxing Day!
2.) 19 Jun 2025 12:08:18
Tracking flights is like stalking.
3.) 19 Jun 2025 12:08:31
Hi Shipley, funny you say that but I actually have the flight number: 55378008.
4.) 19 Jun 2025 12:24:00
it's likely to arrive at JLA at 17:14 from Hamburg, A Pilatus PC-24 private jet (PTN49D)
5.) 19 Jun 2025 14:11:52
Thanks @stuie No wonder it was so hard to find, I had been looking for 5318008.

06 Jul 2025 18:54:57
Hope not.
02 Jul 2025 21:31:35
So based on that there is a 75% chance of him moving and he is 3 times as likely to end up at Liverpool than anywhere else if he does move.
02 Jul 2025 19:33:22
Have they not already accepted an offer of far less from Forrest?
02 Jul 2025 09:14:18
If we do ever sign Gordon we should definitely get Brian Blessed for the announcement video.
01 Jul 2025 14:17:16
I'm intrigued to see the guy play. Seems like a quality backup but very mixed opinions on here so I'm looking forward to seeing him in the team with my own eyes before passing judgement.
Roll on round 3 of the league cup so he can make his full debut!

We will never forget Diogo, but as time passes it becomes a little easier. Mourning the loss will turn into celebrating his life. The fans will sing his name and his teammates will smile whilst thinking back on his memories. It will be an emotional season but it will be a celebration of an amazing footballer, friend, husband, father, son and brother. Clubs will unite in song and those who he left behind at Liverpool will carry on in his honour.
He will forever be our number 20 and we will see what it means to never walk alone.
02 Jul 2025 14:56:19
Never seen the guy play but my main problem would be AFCON when he goes off to Morocco with Salah for 4 weeks.
02 Jul 2025 14:45:02
That was ages ago. For some reason they thought that we would just give him away but they were mistaken.
02 Jul 2025 10:50:13
@OP Would you go on a flight that had a 60% chance of landing safely?
60% means that Liverpool are looking to sign a striker and he is a striker that people have heard of so he is slightly more likely to sign than somebody else.
I wouldn't lose sleep over it until the percentage is a lot higher.
02 Jul 2025 10:40:18
Diaz is a very good player but his representatives are horrendous. They have been trying to engineer a move to Barcelona for years and openly talking about it. Why would we reward the fact that they don't want him to play for Liverpool?
