By the way, for those of you so concerned about where all these incoming players are going to fit, LFC and Stoke have reached an agreement for Joe Allen for 13 million pounds (Paul Joyce) . The clear out continues.

Does Joe Allen even want to go to Stoke do you know Eds?

{Ed002's Note - He will want to consider any offers made.}

2.) 20 Jul 2016 21:42:15
Could do well there. Have to say though, never considered Allen when I was thinking about fitting in the many new midfield players.

3.) 21 Jul 2016 04:11:01
13mil for such a stellar performance at Euro is outrageously low.

4.) 21 Jul 2016 06:22:32
He only has one year left on his contract, that's reflected in the price.

{Ed001's Note - I think we are lucky to get that much for him personally. A player who can barely get a game? We are lucky we don't have to give him away.}

5.) 21 Jul 2016 14:15:35
With you on that, Ed. I`ll take the money and run before they change their minds, frankly.

Hello Eds,

This is specifically for ED2. With July 1st just around the corner, can you send out an update on the LB interests that you originally posted on June 5th. Thank you as always for sharing with us.

Shornbeck

{Ed002's Note - Ben Chilwell is of very firm interest with an offer alredy being rejected. Jordan Amavi is of interest and there have been discussions. Some remain of the view that Hector might also be an option.}

1.) 28 Jun 2016 09:43:50
I very much doubt Hector will be an option, no matter how many people want him at LFC. 30 million euros for a LB is just ridiculous, and there are hypocrites everywhere saying Chilwell is the one who is bad value for money.
If Klopp wants Chilwell, i hope the club gets the deal over the line.

2.) 28 Jun 2016 11:39:30
I just want a competent left back, if that is Chilwell then welcome aboard. How many of us knew about Rob Jones when he joined and he was one of the best I have ever seen. (Was a far better right back than Gary Neville) .

3.) 28 Jun 2016 11:44:12
Hector is out of our financial reach.

4.) 28 Jun 2016 11:52:16
Hi Ed002

you have said we bid for Chiwell but it has been rejected can you tell us how much was bid if you know the price of the bid, plus how much do the want for Chilwell before they accept the bid, am i right in saying they want 10 mill for him, if he is a decent LB who can defend then i think we should go in for him.

{Ed002's Note - The amounts are in the ballpark you have suggested but there is an issue with both the offer being too low and the proposed twrms being unacceptable to Leeds at the moment. It should be something the club can resolve.}

5.) 28 Jun 2016 12:41:24
Game Of Thrones - how on earth do you know how far our financial reach stretches?

6.) 28 Jun 2016 14:02:37
Re the bertrand rumour- if true- ed02 had this nalied before we signed moreno- bertrand better and cheaper. But we went the other way and saints got the better deal.

7.) 28 Jun 2016 23:28:39
I thought we finalised the Hector deal weeks ago?
I'm sure we informed Ed002 the deal had been done. 😄.

8.) 29 Jun 2016 12:10:07
Considering what we've seen for the past few years at lots of levels is that most modern full backs can't defend to save their lives, (or careers at least) any FB who is a good defender should be worth the investment every bit as much as a big name in a flashier role.

Prediction: the same people that said Mane was an overpayment now are singing his praises, are currently concerned that Gini is a wasted signing, will be lauding his performance in a month. The player is two weeks behind the rest of the team in terms of being vetted and is being asked to play in an unfamiliar role in CM. His timing is off on his passes right now but he showed poise and good positional sense ( did a lot to disrupt the passing lanes) and he definitely brings the attacking element we have lacked from that position.

A lot of people have changed their tune on origi too. He was deemed not good enough before he'd even kicked a ball and then after his first 3-5 games.

This will get a lot of disagrees because nobody likes to get called on it.

When will fans learn to give players time to bed in? How about we show the same courtesy to GW guys?

Team looked so much better with Can in the holding position and Milner and Henderson pushing forward. Kept the pressure on and looked a lot more attack minded. I thought Firminho looked good in limited minutes.

Shornbeck

1.) 09 Aug 2015 20:49:06
yes we looked so much more balanced with Can playing there , let's hope BR saw that too , special mention to Joe Gomez , who was brilliant today , yes very young and will be briliant for us for years to come .

2.) 09 Aug 2015 22:39:11
Can changed the game IMO and to those saying he can't play in midfield, eat some crow.

We're not deep enough in the true wing position. Believe Ojo should be given a chance, but would love to see Pulisic brought in. If we qualify for Europe next year, between, Europe, domestic cups, and the EPL, there will be plenty of chances for minutes.

He's comfortable playing back and has a wonderful long ball. with the speed we possess, would be a great skill to have to assist with the counter attack. Could be very beneficial. The CM's/ CAM's that we currently have want to play forward. He would go a long way in helping balance the mid field.

He signed with the agent back in 2015. there is even an ESPN article from OCT 2015 where said agent states how happy Coutinho is with Liverpool. rumor is based off of a twitter rumor with no real news agency backing it up. Don't think he is going anywhere.

I think read somewhere, it might have been here, That the owners of Udinese would like to recoup some of the 4.5 that they paid for Sinclair for Watford. We will probably have to up our offer if that is the case.

A lot of people concerned about the people identifying potential signings and the quality of those players. Last time I checked those same people helped identify Mane, Gini, and Matip and those signings have worked out OK. Think Klopp and Co have earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to identifying targets. And as pointed out by by Coutinho o o we are just watching him at the moment so what's the harm?

Think they could have switched to a 4-2-3-1 (doesn't alter the team on the field to much) Put a second d minded player on deep and still maintain an attacking attitude.

Don't think Coutinho is going anywhere, but since we are just speculating, would love to see Pulisic. Think he could be amazing under Klopp.

100% agree on your assement of Migs. I guess my point was knowing how poor Migs is on the ball, Lucas should have just played the safe ball and kicked it out. It's that type of decision making that allows teams to get back in the game when we have been in dominant form. As a team we play that risky ball too often and need to be smarter in our own end. The play had the double effect of allowing the back in the gain and hurting our confidence which on its best day is pretty fragile.

Migs intial pass was poor but for anyone to think it was anyone's fault but Lucas is silly. Rule number one as a defender, you don't pass back to the goalie if an opposing player is in or near the box. Lucas should have just put the ball out with no outlet pass available. Then set up for defense. The player himself acknowledged the mistake and actually was able to make light of the situation by pointing out it was his first assist in years.

Not slighting Lucas, because I thought he played well, but it was the type of mistake that continues to haunt Liverpool and will keep them from being serious title contenders until they stop allowing teams back in the game with costly errors.

Shornbeck

{Ed001's Note - hmmm the fault was both of theirs as they both got it wrong. To say otherwise is ridiculous. Rule number one as a keeper is to not play your defenders into trouble on the edge of the box. The reason we make these errors is because we have too many players lacking the intelligence needed to see out a game. Not just Migs, though in this case it was him who rushed a goal kick towards the end of the first half when we were dominating. An intelligent player would have known there was no rush and the best thing to do was take your time, as he had done all the previous times he had the ball. To absolve him of blame is ludicrous. He made a major error.

Lucas then made a couple of errors to make things worse, errors that were even worse, but this is compounding the initial error rather than being the only error. You have to fix problems at source if you want to win things. First thing is you need to take your time if you want to control a game while on top. We keep rushing simple things, when there is no rush. I know Migs is trying his best to impress with Karius there, but he is not helping his cause by making basic errors, such as not taking time when he should, playing a weak pass to a player on the edge of the box and flapping at crosses.

Mignolet needs to stop and think. Take a deep breath and look at what happened and improve on it. Oh and learn to bloody catch while he is about it. First off though, he could save us a lot of problems by being calmer and not rushing when we are on top and dominating.}
