Really sorry Ed, I have tried the search and it won’t work/ can’t find what I am looking for, does anyone know what was posted re: Coutinho?

Is he someone we may bring back?

TAA Very Much

{Ed002's Note - Philippe Coutinho (AM/CM) was available in the summer and was actively being offered around to English, Italian and German sides - but the clubs approached like Spurs, Arsenal, Wolves, Leicester Liverpool and Everton had preferred options or no interest and would only look to him if options dried up and if a loan to buy option were available - but Barcelona ideally wanted cash and still do. Italy may provide an option on loan but that won't suit Barcelona which might well rule out Lazio. Milan would not be a surprise at the right price. If Barcelona cut their losses then they may look to an exchange and might see who clubs like Juventus have available. Kia wanted to get him in to Arsenal ahead of Odegaard or Aouer - but that came to nothing. Kia will knock on Edu's door again in January and try and strike a deal - but with Odegaard signed it is hard to see where he would fit in without Smith Rowe departing. Kia will also try Spurs again, who do have space in their squad but their focus might be elsewhere. A deal involving Ndombele may be suggested. Other English sides have also been approached but even with a low transfer fee, wages will be high. Aston Villa have asked about a loan. Kia has approached Newcastle but they have no immediate need for a superagent and need to resolve other issues before buying players and it is an unattractive option for Pipco. Everton have been approached but seems an unlikely destination. A loan to Flamengo was suggested but they would struggle to pay much of his wages. Liverpool will likely also be approached but I doubt would be interested - but you never know.}

Thank you Ed really appreciate you putting it back out there for me.

I can inform my son of your wisdom

🤙.

2.) 06 Jan 2022 15:32:22
Coutinho is the most realistic player at least for short term until end of the season to cover Mane and Salah during African Cup and to anticipate unpredictable situation during C.V. as we lost so many players right now because of C.V.. Coutinho already know Klopp's style on playing football on the pitch and training session, know the staff, his ex-team mates (Bobby, Alisson, Fab, Hendo, TAA) and Thiago when he was at Bayern. Moving to liverpool can be considered as a win win solution for Coutinho because he will not need some extra effort to adapt with liverpool environment so he can be more focus for returning back to his peak performance.

3.) 06 Jan 2022 16:07:30
He’d be pretty rubbish cover as he’s neither a winger or a forward of any kind. We don’t play with a “number 10” so he’d be as useful as a eunuch at an orgy. It’s not even as if he can play in midfield as he’s too lightweight and doesn’t work hard enough.

4.) 06 Jan 2022 20:30:30
I agree VVVV.

5.) 06 Jan 2022 21:15:52
And that's not taking into account his wages.

6.) 07 Jan 2022 00:12:08
I think coutinho is even less likely than Mbappe and Haaland.

7.) 07 Jan 2022 05:13:22
Back on 2017, when coutinho-salah-mane-firmino on the pitch together. One of them scored every 23 minutes. With current financial condition, limited transfer budget, etc. Loaning coutinho is one of realistic alternative however it depends on how much Barcelona want to share salary expense.

8.) 07 Jan 2022 09:54:37
Thankfully he’s off to Villa.

22 Aug 2021 15:44:07
Afternoon Ed’s,

One of my favourite players to wear the red shirt has been Coutinho, from the first game against Wigan away I thought he was something special. Now, granted, the way he left had me fuming, but for me, I would take him in a heartbeat on a season loan.

Don’t want to get excited, but having read below, could it really happen? Could the magician come home? Or more to the point, would it happen?

🤙.

TAA Very Much

{Ed025's Note - more importantly...why would you want him?..

1.) 22 Aug 2021 16:06:23
And what are you reading?

2.) 22 Aug 2021 16:19:45
Me too, i adore him.

3.) 22 Aug 2021 16:21:36
He’s more than welcome back at anfield, as long as he buys a ticket like everyone else.

4.) 22 Aug 2021 16:28:08
I think sometimes we all deserve a second chance. he should be allowed to come back, but be prepared to apologise and accept he would be part of squad and prove his worth.

5.) 22 Aug 2021 16:29:05
How many games have you actually watched Liverpool play?

6.) 22 Aug 2021 16:30:06
Will always be one of my favourites, don't think we need him necessarily but I'd be buzzing to see him back. One can dream.

7.) 22 Aug 2021 16:56:58
The player that said was injured as didn't want play to get the move to barca.

8.) 22 Aug 2021 17:01:55
Lad's seriously why would want him near the club. The only person worse than him was our Serial Biter himself.

9.) 22 Aug 2021 17:13:39
I do agree Barry mate, he did himself no favours when he left, but the lad was quality coming in on that right foot and bending it in the far corner.

Maybe it wouldn’t work, but could he slot in easily? Could he do well for us? For me he could.

As for you ed25 my favourite evertonian, there was a certain goal in 16/ 17 that he scored anfiield road end, made my weekend that one 😂.

{Ed025's Note - thats before his head swelled TAA and he became a big time charlie, forced his way out by pretending to be injured so no thanks from me mate..

10.) 22 Aug 2021 17:36:30
Thanks for the memories. But not needed and not required now. Why bring him in and throw a spanner into the works with Jones and Elliott? Why mess with Mane's and Jota's heads with further competition for that left side?

11.) 22 Aug 2021 17:53:27
It amazes me the clamour to have Coutinho back, a player who is a shadow of his former self and would really struggle to integrate into this iteration of Liverpool.

How many of you would take Sterling back. Left a poor Liverpool side to further his career, has become a better player and is only 26.

He could easily integrate into our front 3 yet I suspect people wouldn’t be keen at all.

What’s the difference?

12.) 22 Aug 2021 17:59:35
Why should he be welcomed back, nade a mockery of the club, the management and the fans.

13.) 22 Aug 2021 18:50:28
I don’t know why anybody would want him back his best position was wide left so him Mane or Jota that puts him 3rd choice on £200k+ a week.
Thanks but no thanks.

14.) 22 Aug 2021 19:16:55
Would much rather give those minutes to Elliot. Maybe he can be our next Coutinho.

15.) 22 Aug 2021 19:26:33
Eh, no thanks. He'd get paid a fortune and sit on the bench. Not good enough and not even the type player we need.

{Ed025's Note - dead right mate..

16.) 22 Aug 2021 20:26:39
Oh well, take the consensus as a no then 😂

🤙.

17.) 22 Aug 2021 20:34:43
Agree with your replies Eds25.

{Ed025's Note - cheers ace..

18.) 22 Aug 2021 20:55:14
I’d take him back. Yes he acted like a bit of a dick head to leave but he didn’t drag the club through the mud like a certain bitey racist. He’d give us something different in midfield and more importantly will chip in with goals which none of our midfielders do regularly.

PS sorry if half my previous response gets posted.

19.) 22 Aug 2021 21:10:22
WhyOwhy, I’d not have any of Sterling, Coutinho or Suarez back. The way Sterling left and the fact he happily led the other City players singing songs mocking Hillsborough and Sean Cox makes it that he will never be welcome at Anfield in any capacity as far as I’m concerned (and I hope that’s a view shared by many), Coutinho faked injury whilst being able to play for Brazil to force his way out, he’s made his bed so he can lie in it. As for Suarez, he dragged the name of the club through the mud for racism and biting, and after being unequivocally (and wrongfully) backed up by the club, still stuck two fingers up and left. So no, I’d never want ANY of them back.

20.) 22 Aug 2021 21:02:11
Well now that that's settled anyone for El-Hadj-Diouf😂.

{Ed025's Note - i remember him barry...he was the spit of someone i once knew mate.. :)

21.) 22 Aug 2021 22:07:01
The improvement since he left is no coincidence.

22.) 22 Aug 2021 22:30:05
Just what I was thinking Laddie. We were a top 4 hopeful when he left. Since then we’ve become European, World and Premier league Champions.
This current squad is in a different league to PipCo he wouldn’t even make the bench.

23.) 22 Aug 2021 22:32:50
I’d rather rubbish in my hands and clap than take coutinho back. Him Suarez and Sterling aren’t good enough to play for Liverpool.

24.) 23 Aug 2021 00:00:52
I'd rather Spit the dog Ed025.

25.) 23 Aug 2021 07:24:05
Have Barcelona fully paid liverpool for pipco eds?

{Ed002's Note - They have paid all Liverpool are going to get.}

26.) 23 Aug 2021 07:27:35
Because he’s a goal scoring midfielder which we don’t have.

27.) 23 Aug 2021 10:26:47
Got nothing against phil, his huge fee helped us a lot, but I wouldn't take him on a free with barcelona paying half his HUGE salary, reason is simple, we need a squad refresh, think at the beggining of next season, our front 3 will all be over 30, milner is approaching like 40 now, Henderson and Thiago are over 30, we need YOUNG players being bleed into the team, not expensive veterans blocking their path.

15 May 2021 13:19:23
Ed’s seen a couple of reports that Bissouma has requested a transfer? Any updates on this and would be be making a bid?

Much love

🤙.

TAA Very Much

{Ed002's Note - Yves Bissouma (CM/DM) Brighton will resist any approaches although the player has made known his desire for the club to consider offers for him but has not formally requested a transfer. He shares a "representative" with Pepe who he spent a season with at Lille and he failed to persuade Arsenal to move for him - and since then Arsenal have signed Partey and a change in the decision process at Arsenal means any move is only possible if they can clear the clutter of Torreira, Xhaka and Guendouzi - then they could look to him to play alongside Partey. He is a significant upgrade on Xhaka and Elneny and will add experience when Dani Ceballos departs. Arsenal are working hard to sell players to make spece for him. Interest of Spurs will have departed with Mr Mourinho. Monaco may also provide an option but I suspect the price will be too high for them and they have a first choice preference. He is another who would be off to the Africa Cup of Nations in January 2022 and not Home Grown makes him less attractive to most English sides although Manchester City, Liverpool and Leicester have spoken with his representative, but Leicester have another solution pretty much agreed already. He is not first choice for Manchester City. There is a further complication in that his family is directly involved in all major decisions.}

1.) 15 May 2021 19:00:31
Thanks Ed, I bow to your knowledge

🤙.

Ok so I don’t do social media or anything, can someone explain what happened with the klopp resigned thing? Has he actually? Or is it made up?

TAA Very Much

1.) 15 Feb 2021 10:15:43
I hope klopp doesn’t resign but I wouldn’t be shocked if he did.
With his mother passing away, that alone makes it such a hard time for him (never mind the poor results and the media) . So maybe resigning and spending time away from football and the limelight will do him and his family the world of good and will give him proper time to grieve the loss of his mother.
He’s a work class manager a top top guy and I’ll back him if he stays and he’ll have my support if he chooses to resign.
Jurgen Klopp YNWA.

2.) 15 Feb 2021 10:37:38
I am of the opinion that if he cannot give 100 percent I would rather he walked or took a break, the players are playing like he is not inspiring them and who could blame klopp for not having the fire rite now .

3.) 15 Feb 2021 11:06:41
Ed002 said it best: Klopp is not a quitter.

4.) 15 Feb 2021 20:21:24
Complete Twitter fabrication is what happened. There wasn't any substance whatsoever in it.

Afternoon Red Men,

Hearing that Keita is potentially leaving in the summer, I have to say I wasn’t too disappointed. I remember when he signed that I thought he could be great, he looked quick, scored long range goals in Germany and looked like a proper box to box player and he just never could get going for us.

All the best Naby lad

?.

TAA Very Much

1.) 07 Feb 2023 15:14:24
Not too disappointed either. Lazy player who thought he'd made it once he signed for Liverpool and didn't need to try anymore. Frustrating, cos for the 15 minutes per game he is involved, he's useful.

Was taking it as read he was going, to be honest.

2.) 07 Feb 2023 15:51:22
Worst signing ever in a LFC shirt for me!

3.) 07 Feb 2023 16:15:03
100% worst signing ever 60m dud! Biggest let down ever! Hope the door doesn’t hit him on the way out!
He’s exhausted the medical staff it’s why all the players are in bits ?.

4.) 07 Feb 2023 16:18:52
Not too disappointed. I’m ecstatic!

5.) 07 Feb 2023 16:21:13
Happy to give him a lift if needed.

6.) 07 Feb 2023 16:22:04
Aquilani gets a vote for that one from me Longthing.

7.) 07 Feb 2023 16:31:01
Klopps choice ?.

8.) 07 Feb 2023 16:51:38
OAP disguised as a footballer another ETO.

9.) 07 Feb 2023 17:16:10
why blame Keita
blame the person who make the decision to buy him
"world class" at Bundesliga doesn't mean "world class" at PL
alot of example already.

10.) 07 Feb 2023 17:21:19
Can we have a whip around for a one way ticket on here?

11.) 07 Feb 2023 17:30:19
I’m with Piff. No signing can very be worse that aquilani. Naby is right up there though.

12.) 07 Feb 2023 17:35:57
He has to be the biggest let down ever. He actually showed plenty of promise in Germany and looked to be exactly what we had been missing at the time.

Truth is he never had the construction or constitution to make it at the top tier.

13.) 07 Feb 2023 17:59:13
Balotelli cost nearly as much as Aquilani and was more useless, imo. Although we did get shot of him quickly whereas I think it took us 3 years to move Aquilani on permanently.

14.) 07 Feb 2023 18:56:00
Davasted. I really do think Keita is the future.

15.) 07 Feb 2023 19:08:45
Some price difference in aqua and Keita.

16.) 07 Feb 2023 19:14:07
One of the biggest disappointments in terms of his potential. Also easily the biggest lack of return of money spent against what we got for it and don’t manage to offload him when it was clear we should have. Combo of all those things makes him the worst signing in LFC history in my book.

17.) 07 Feb 2023 19:18:22
Worse signing ever? Have you all forgotten Aqillani, El Hadj DIOUF, Julian Dicks.

18.) 07 Feb 2023 19:25:38
He's a midfielder and I thought we needed midfielders. Any midfielders, not the right midfielders.

19.) 07 Feb 2023 20:23:46
Not even close to being the worst signing ever. Diouff and Balotelli are literally saying “hold my beer” right now.

20.) 07 Feb 2023 22:53:30
Keita sadly not the worst. Joe Cole, voronin, balotelli, caulker, dossena and rickie lambert to name but a few other duds. All good company for naby.

21.) 07 Feb 2023 23:03:37
Massive let down and has been stealing a wage for years but at least he’s kept the medical staff in work.

22.) 07 Feb 2023 23:33:25
I think we are letting recency bias get to us. Keita was far from our worst signing. True, he didn't perform on the pitch but I don't recall him creating any trouble off it either. Balotelli and Diouf on the other hand dragged the name of the club through the mud and didn't perform for us. They are much worse imo. Special mention to Aquilani who refused to play for us even when fit.

23.) 07 Feb 2023 23:39:25
Ballotelli is the worst ever for me. I can’t believe we replaced the most mobile and quality player in Suarez and replaced him with that lazy dud who just stood there. Another shocking FSG decision.

24.) 08 Feb 2023 01:30:22
It was Rodgers who bought Balotelli, not FSG. I doubt our owners choose players to sign and force the managers to somehow make it work.

25.) 08 Feb 2023 07:59:50
The reason I’m saying worst signings over those mentioned above is not because he is a worse player, because he isn’t, or dragged the club through the mud, because he hasn’t. I’m saying he’s the worst because he his cost was far more than the approx £50m people are saying on here when everything is taken into account. I remember ed002 saying it was more like £80m. It not comparable to Joe Cole or Balotelli who cost pennies in comparison. Then there is delivered potential. He came to us on the back two amazing seasons where he was the best all round midfielder in the Bundisliga and one of the most sought after players in world football. Whilst not a bad player he has been distinctly average at best and pure dross at worst. He’s not a bad players, but If he had come in for £20m and without the hype he wouldn’t be in the convo for me, but he didn’t and did respectively. That’s what makes him the worst for me.

26.) 08 Feb 2023 08:39:43
Keita is far from our worst signing. It's just a trend now with "modern day fans" to be over hysterical.
I know Keita has fully earned the ire he gets from a section of the fans, but it will be interesting to see who becomes the new "player I hate" whipping boy when Keita leaves.
YNWA and all that.

Morning Ed’s and reds

What a great night, almost take the semi final for granted how good we have been, but a great first leg and in a massive strong position for the 2nd leg. So hopeful for number 7!

that Klopp is interested in extending his deal, any concrete news this is true?

TAA Very Much

{Ed001's Note - the issue has always been his missus not Jurgen himself. She worries he will burn out due to the stress. If she is seeing how much he is enjoying himself right now, and I know she is very settled in the city, I am sure she will be happy for him to stay. Or I could just be wishful thinking!}

1.) 28 Apr 2022 11:41:50
Thanks Ed for the response, always down to the Mrs isn’t it 😂

Let’s hope she let's him out to play with us for a couple more seasons 😂.

{Ed001's Note - my fingers, toes and eyes are crossed.}

2.) 28 Apr 2022 12:13:03
I’ve always felt, and hoped, that Klopp may extend his stay with Liverpool.
He’s built such a fantastic working environment and team that it would be so difficult to walk away from it.
And, of course, he’s idolised by all Lfc fans. I think he digs the new song and The Beatles connection as well 😀
Let’s hope he does sign. I have a feeling if he does, Pep will do likewise at City.

3.) 28 Apr 2022 12:18:55
Felt back in October when he said about wishing he had come to Liverpool ten years earlier that he would be signing a new deal, after all the crap he's had through C.V. he looks refreshed and really happy again, he's signing for sure.

4.) 28 Apr 2022 12:29:14
ED01, funny you mentioned Klopp's missus (a. k. a The Queen of Anfield) cos I watched a podcast a few weeks ago where one of the guys said if anyone wants Klopp to extend his contract then, they will have to try to convince her, not Klopp. You may be onto something here, man.

{Ed001's Note - 100% it is down to her.}

5.) 28 Apr 2022 14:58:53
Thought so, Ed01. Say, how's life in the Philipines? Hope you are settling down nicely out there. Peace and Love, my friend.

{Ed001's Note - good mate, love it here.}

6.) 28 Apr 2022 15:46:55
People let's make a song for missus Klopp now😂😂😂.

7.) 28 Apr 2022 15:07:54
Hopeful then as apparently she has been amongst the fans in the stands away at both manc grounds, not your typical wag.

{Ed001's Note - she loves it in Liverpool as well by all accounts.}

8.) 28 Apr 2022 16:07:40
Nice to hear that last bit Ed001, genuinely isn't for selfish reasons then she's just looking out for her partner.

9.) 28 Apr 2022 16:07:50
Nice one, Ed01. I envy you cos I hear the cuisine out there, is absolutely insane. Tuck in, my guy.

{Ed001's Note - I do!}

10.) 28 Apr 2022 16:34:40
Klopp could let pep take a bit more of the work if it help to get Klopp and mrs Klopp to sign thr contract.

11.) 28 Apr 2022 17:09:01
Ed001, have u seen the Liverpool announcement yet? He really said, "Because Ulla wants to stay", as a good husband, what do you do? You stay!

Haha, when i heard that, i remembered your comment here regarding it depends on the mrs. Spot on mate 😂.

{Ed001's Note - it was always her decision, we should build a statue to her as well!}
