Whilst driving into work this morning I heard the talk sport presenter talking about the PSV game yesterday and mentioned Liverpool were interested in signing Saibari. This is not a player i have previously heard mentioned and I'm not sure how he could possibly fit into our squad without a departure. Any truth to this? I couldn't find him on search.

TJury

{Ed002's Note - He is teasing you because he got a couple of goals last night - would not get a WP for the Premier League.}

1.) 31 Aug 2023 12:30:31
Thanks, as i thought.

2.) 31 Aug 2023 12:42:32
What do you think of talk sport ed. I personally can't stand the station. Absolute load of rubbish I hear on there mostly. And as for Simon jordan.

{Ed002's Note - I don't have any view on the radio station but Jordan is an interesting character.}

3.) 31 Aug 2023 13:32:06
Even though he comes across as rather arrogant and condescending - almost like he’s desperate to prove he’s the most intelligent person in the room - do tend to agree with a lot of what he says.

{Ed002's Note - He is certainly confident and has been very successful in business.}

4.) 31 Aug 2023 13:57:12
I like Simon Jordan but can't stand his sidekick Jim White. I think Jordan calls out clubs, managers and players that fans don't like to hear (similar to ed02)

5.) 31 Aug 2023 14:36:06
Jordan is a clever man! He knows his stuff! The way he broke down how Chelsea are getting away with spending all this money was fascinating tbf! Everyone kept moaning how?

I posted this on a page i run.

This bottling it talk is complete and utter nonsense started by the media to put pressure on us as we were the league leaders at the time. We have lost 1 game all season and if we win our spare game go 3 points ahead.

We have to accept that City are a better side and realistically the fav to win the league. We are performing above expectations and need to get behind our team and stop adding to the pressure being applied by the media.

Injuries have been our problem, not bottling it.

Get behind the lads because they are doing fantastic and need our support not our insecurities.

TJury

{Ed025's Note - the only ones "bottling" it TJ are the supporters, the team and the manager are doing fine and are up for this big time, you all need to take a chill pill and let the team get on with it imo, groaning and sighing when you miss a chance or let a goal in does not help the cause in the slightest and the players are aware of it mate..

1.) 08 Feb 2019 09:59:58
Are we going to get done with it then? some fans believe we might bottle it, other believe we are playing the best we can.

Also First of all no city are not a better first team than us. we have largely better defense and it shows on the table and the atatck is largely comparable.
Secondly we hardly have been over performing. It is hard to argue that the team hasn't even moved out of second gear yet. IF the team can perform with the attacking tenacity like last season combined with the defensive progress we have this season then we have the worlds best team. right now it isn't gelling that well and that is causing a panic among fans.
We have the most balanced first team in world right now.

2.) 08 Feb 2019 10:30:54
thanks Ed025. I'm with you on this.

We have only lost 1 game this season, City has lost 4 (and i do expect them to lose more, after all, who would expect the City that has stormed back to form in Jan to lose to Newcastle, incidentally, in Jan)

We lost 2 key defenders, 2 key midfielders and drew 2 games.
City lost 1 key player and lost 3 games.

We are currently level with a game in hand.

We actually did not too bad against Leicester on a ridiculous pitch full of ice. We should have done better against West Ham who had a clear game plan.

I don't see our players bottling it but the fans, including those in the stadium, seems to believe the game is lost if we are still level in the 60th min and start moaning and groaning instead of cheering the team on. Mind you, we started our fantastic Dec with a 96min goal against Everton.

City has been obsessed with us, following our games, playing mind games, etc. Klopp has been wise and cool enough to focus on ourselves and get the team to do likewise.

Just as Klopp said, if its too stressful to follow a title race, go away for awhile and come back in May to see the outcome. Otherwise, enjoy the ride. There'll be joy, relief, anxiety, anger, but all of it will be worth the while when Hendo lifts the PL trophy on final day.

{Ed025's Note - you are still in the box seat for me sg, everyone in the league would willingly swap places with you if they could mate, just enjoy it i say and back your team..

3.) 08 Feb 2019 10:32:44
So right ed025 two draws and the cry babies come out belly aching it’s so boring we are in a title race there are going to be swings and roundabouts till then end now
Up the pool.

{Ed025's Note - all the top 3 will drop points redan thats the nature of the beast, its how you react that counts and throwing your toys out the pram at every dropped point is just counter productive for me mate..

4.) 08 Feb 2019 11:00:21
Brilliant response, Ed25. Did you see the post I put up about this "LFC have bottled it" last night? Pls, look it up. It is these "fans" who have bottled it. They are the ones who allow fear to overcome them hence They are projecting their lack of bottle, desire, determination and self belief on the team so that they can be right cos well, wallowing in defeatist self-pity is better than gaining a spine and daring to dream in the face of immense adversity. They are the bottlers and need to either take a chill pill or they will get the response their pathetic comments deserve, IMO.

If our boys were bottlers then why have they been the ONLY ones to keep up w/ City and even take away their top spot? City lost 4 games that no one thought they would lose. Are they bottlers too? Exactly, senseless logic.
Oh n btw, the OP is correct. "Bottling it" is bullocks and like mind games, is baseless. Check out Gordon Strachan's comments in The Debate on Sky with Danny Mills (the guy is as clueless as a box of spanners) where he lays out the argument against such baseless rhetoric.

{Ed025's Note - everyone would love to be in your shoes redwolf im sure, i just cant understand the negativity (think of us poor sods) when you are in the last 16 of the CL and in prime position for the league title mate...if we were there i would be saying bring it on myself..

5.) 08 Feb 2019 11:25:17
Ed25, brilliant response as usual. You just gave perspective right there BUT that word is becoming a dirty word these days amongst the new generation of fans who believe in instant gratification.

6.) 08 Feb 2019 12:28:09
Excellent response from Ed025, and the poster from yesterday or before (i've forgotten whom) who suggested that it is actually the supporters who are bottling it. It has clearly been a rollercoaster ride, and will continue to be, this season. As a supporter you either get on board and brave it out with the players and the team, or at least try to make as little a fuss as possible about the ride.

I actually don't get it. It's all actually very exciting for me. The ups and downs. The controversies and surprises. Makes for an excellent season. And a title win at the end of it will make it even more worthwhile. Nobody thought that a record-breaking team (already being touted as the best in EPL history) was simply going to lay down and roll over, did they?

7.) 08 Feb 2019 12:43:05
i stil can't believe people are still posting ' i can't see city dropping points for the seats os the asset ( usually the same ones that said it in November)

How short sighted can you be to believe that? they dropped plenty of points. all the top 3 will.

even if they don't that's still no guarantee to win it!

8.) 08 Feb 2019 14:25:18
When you respond in this way Ed025, I've got a lot of time for you to be honest. Your not at all like the evertonians I mix with, who bring out a side in myself I prefer to keep under wraps. You don't like me which is sound, but I'm starting to think you're a good lad.

Hi Eds

BR talked last night about bringing in another couple of players. I know we tried to sign Remy and have been seeking a LB. Any ideas who these new players may be?

{Ed001's Note - I have not been able to find the time to look at his comments to know what he said, so I am not going to comment on them sorry.}

I for one am delighted. Good prospect but a squad player at either team and we can’t afford to spend £60m on a squad player. I think Chelsea will have a good young player but similar to Caceido have paid double his true worth. Let’s see who comes our way now these two have gone. Positive is we now know we have money to spend, negative is the inflated fees as clubs know we desperate.

After 10 years of watching the site you have learnt nothing and wasted the chance to make an impact with a good post. You have just teased and nothing else. Had an old girlfriend like that.

Lennon I don’t get the obsession with Lavia full stop. I can’t see other being worried if we sign him and even if we did I still don’t think it’s enough to Mount a serious challenge with the amount of players having left already. I hope for £50m we would be buying a ready made starter, not a kid who just played one season for a relegated team. Show some patience and get the right player. Ps, if the scouts end up paying that for him because they think he is the right player I’m sure they know better than me.

I think all genuine fans are thankful for what they have done but don’t understand why other clubs can spend away but we always have to sell to buy. I know explinations have been attempted before but maybe Ed02 could just give a reminder so we can all move on from it.

TJury

{Ed002's Note - Clubs can only spend profits from earnings, money from player sales and a small amount which the owners can provide. Liverpool made a loss in the last Financial Year, they owe money from the transfers last summer and they have had to pay for Konate. If you take Chelsea as an example, they fund their transfers through sales and profits.}

Lets not go into the game with a negative spin, we would love to win the FA cup, some people think a cup run hinders our league chances. I disagree, our squad is big enough to cope and as we have not won anything other than the league cup since last winning the FA cup in 2006 any trophy would be great. I also feel losing damages confidence and winning is a good habit to have.
