Hi Eds,

Just wondered if there had been any fresh interest in Alex Telles of Porto?

Put his name in the search and apparently we scouted him when he played for Galatasaray back in 2014. He was only a young lad then, probably a bit raw but he's really come on this season. I'm half Portuguese, watch a lot of Primeira Liga and think he's been the division's best left back.

Telles is one of the league's best crossers, takes good set pieces, is very quick and has no problem beating his man. Defensively, he's good in the tackle, but there might be some questions over his overall defensive game. At 24, perhaps he can improve this aspect but in all honesty, it's his attacking ability that really sets him apart.

Porto is a club that needs to sell, we're in the market for a new left-back and Alex Telles fits the bill, in my opinion. I'm not trying to link us with random players, just thought that he might be on the radar due to us apparently having previous interest. Thanks.

TQ

{Ed002's Note - No, he has only been there a year.}

Apparently, Roma are lining up Franck Kessié of Atlanta as a replacement to Leandro Paredes who is expected to leave at the end of the season. But in the last few days, Italian press has linked us with both players.

I've seen us linked with Peredes in the past, but not aware of any past interest in Kessié.

Any truth in either?

Chelsea were chasing kessie but they want 35mil or somthing scary like that, think ed 02 listed about another 20 clubs interested in him. We have been linked with parades since the summer.

But none of them are box-to-box like Keita and, potentially, Sanches. So maybe it's an indication that Klopp wants more dynamism in central areas.

which means it's probably not his best option.

Who knows what represents a good deal at the moment. Fees are outrageous and Mendy seems like a good option, even with Monaco's valuation. If Liverpool thinks it can afford him, who are we to argue?

And this whole ridiculing fans for paying attention of what happens in leagues outside the Prem just seems ignorant to me.

To be fair, transfer negotiations isn't exactly a footballing matter - it's a business matter. I'm not sure having an ex-player involved helps, or ensures things are handled properly.

But I'm glad to hear the issue is being dealt with internally.

Sky Italia is reporting we've bid €20 million for De Vrij which Lazio has turned down. May or may not be true, but now that the entire world knows the kind of money we were looking to spend on a centre-back, any club we do business with can add a huge premium on what they might usually ask for.

What a mess.

Confession: I'm not a huge fan of Coutinho (I know I'm in the vast minority here) . But if we can get around £100m for him and invest it directly back into the team, I would see it as good business. Depending on who we spent it on, of course.

Henderson is fine as captain. Your prediction that he'll play less than 50% of games next season is pure speculation at this point.

I'd prefer to see a player like Coutinho play without the extra burden of captaincy.

He could easily end up staying at Leverkusen this season. There's a World Cup in 2018 which I assume makes it even more important for him to get regular football. A season of broken performances could easily jeopardise his place in the squad.

I can't fault the lad for wanting a guarantee of first team football.

My god, what a shambles. Can't help but laugh but it is tragic. Question: does this 'apology' mean we avoid any further action being taken?

Sincerely hope it's not true. But if it is the same individuals repeating the same offences, surely it would be appropriate to boot them out the door to stop them bringing the club down any further. Regardless of whether or not any other clubs are doing it, it's not right and as Ed points out, it's very embarrassing.
