Liverpool are continuing to "monitor" Vasco de Gama forward Talles Magno and are keen to learn more details about his availability, according to a report.
Speculation earlier this year linked Liverpool with a move for the 18-year-old Brazil Under-17 international.
The teenager has a strong record for his country, scoring three goals in six games. Further reports have claimed French champions Paris Saint-Germain top the list of other sides showing interest.
Magno also has suitors elsewhere in Europe, with Bayer Leverkusen and Sevilla watching on.
The initial reports about Liverpool's interest surfaced in May and Yahoo Sport journalist Jorge Nicola has now insisted that the Reds' situation has not changed.

Was £40 million but with C.V. problems could be sold for £20 million.

Haven't seen the reports, but Jorge Nicola is usually correct about transfers and backstage informations.

2.) 08 Aug 2020 07:34:17
Any rumour starting with “Continue to monitor” is usually BS imo.

3.) 08 Aug 2020 09:46:28
I like looking in the shop window at a Ferrari but still drive a van 🤷🏻‍♂️.

4.) 08 Aug 2020 11:41:01

5.) 08 Aug 2020 11:59:24
yea Jay I'm definitely monitoring the million dollar homes on our street.
have we ever signed a brazilian teen? like straight from brazil?

6.) 08 Aug 2020 17:02:21
Yeah, we signed Lucas Leiva from Gremio. Think he was 19 at the time.

7.) 09 Aug 2020 02:42:58
aaaaahhhh Lucas how could I forget my man lol!

8.) 09 Aug 2020 19:34:59
20 actually.

Liverpool have signed 16-year-old Polish sensation Mateusz Musialowski from SMS Lodz according to a certain newspaper.

The_TimelordV1

{Ed002's Note - and Fabian Mrozek.}

1.) 01 Aug 2020 12:51:55
Is Mateusz Musialowski highly rated Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Clearly someone at Liverpool thinks he is worth taking and this is the last chance for English sides to take 16 and 17 year old players from the EU. Personally I know nothing of him.}

2.) 01 Aug 2020 12:59:30
Wow, thanks Ed. Hypotheticall, are there more highly rated 16 and 17 year olds you would suggest for Liverpool? Maybe there are some Liverpool scouts on this website?

{Ed002's Note - I only ever get to hear about the high-profile ones that are being swept up by the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea.}

A general question about Covid 19 affect on sport.

Ed do you think with the continuing lockdown, that we will lose a few of the smaller teams in the football pyramid, and could this lead to the restructure of the leagues as was discussed on the forum awhile ago?

Do you also think that this will happen in other sports like rugby?

The_TimelordV1

{Ed002's Note - Firstly other sports, certainly in Europe, don't have the money that is involved in football so the impact on the likes of cricket and rugby will be less, particularly as there are few pro sides. Cricket does have variants and they may not survive so well - but the county game in England is poorly attended already - so a season off would not be show stopping. If you look American Football (where ironically they don't use their feet) there are few pro sides. Hockey is big world wide (except te EU) and has a lot of money - but they should be able to ride it out. Baseball has three major hubs, Cuba, US and Japan. They will need to cut right back on wages which are very significant.

As for losing clubs, I have explained before that I do not see that so many pro sides can be sustained from a financial perspective within the sport which, like it or not, will see more and more money going in to the highest levels of the game. Governments will ensure that grassroots sport get funding but everything in the middle (Southern, Northern, Conference, Division 2, Scottish Divisions 1-3, League of Wales may not get the funding needed to continue on any sort of professional basis. For me, clubs should already recognise this and put their efforts in to getting there finances in order to see if they can make it to a British professional league that will need to flourish without perhaps six sides that have eventually gone down the pan-European route - and have gone for good (it would be two or perhaps three initially) - and those who are simply not financially available and either slip away completely or have to press resetand start again way down the pyramid of leagues. This situtaion we have right now will likely topple a few over the edge.}

1.) 01 Apr 2020 14:02:50
I agree that we will see some going over the edge. Thanks for the reply.

Hello Ed's. any truth in the follows rumour?

Liverpool reportedly scouted Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay in Champions League action last night.

Turkish-Football suggested "a source close to the player" had told them that Jurgen Klopp's men were set to watch the player in Hoffenheim's 3-3 Champions League draw at home to Lyon.

The_TimelordV1

{Ed002's Note - I don't know about Demirbay being scouted yesterday but certainly Liverpool did show a brief interest in the summer after watching him last season on one or two of the occasions when he was fit. From my perspective it would be an odd one. Liverpool are not short on players in a similar position and Keita has been expected to be the first choice in that advanced central midfield role so it is hard to see where he would fit in - but to be fair the club has also looked at the likes of Ramsey and Barella who also play in central midfield. Additionally, Demirbay has suffered a great deal with injuries over the past couple of years and that would have to be something the club would have to consider.

As an aside the player I would have been watching in that game would have been Houssem Aouar, who really is a talent.}

1.) 24 Oct 2018 12:22:31
Thanks Ed002! Houssem Aouar is very similar to Ozil a very good talent hope we can get him!

2.) 24 Oct 2018 16:10:39
Same as ozil as in turns up once in a blue moon?

3.) 25 Oct 2018 18:25:25
Thank for the reply ed002.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

4.) 26 Oct 2018 14:31:23
Glad we are looking at Ramsey tbh. Good player, adds strength In depth. Of course he would want first team action regularly, which will probably put an end to a deal being possible.
Hopefully he sees how our midfield 3 keep rotating this year and he bites.
Milner and Lallana can’t go on forever, unfortunately!

5.) 03 Nov 2018 05:17:46
Barella would be awesome. One of the best midfielders in italy and still only 21 years old. Not that i think we need another player in midfield unless we get rid of some first.

11 Jul 2018 11:09:41
Looks like it maybe 1 out, hopefully not.

Georginio Wijnaldum could be set for a move away from Liverpool, with a green light reportedly given for a move to Fenerbahce, according to reports in Turkey.

The 27-year-old is reportedly concerned at where he stands in the pecking order following the signings of Fabinho and Naby Keita.

The_TimelordV1

1.) 11 Jul 2018 11:22:23
I did not see him asking to leave! He's one of Klopp's go to players! Perhaps he's sick of being a utility man? He played nearly 50 times last season but never had a consistent defined role. We have signed a lot of midfielders as well so if he has asked to leave for purely footballing reasons, I won't hold it against him. Be a big shame though. He's under rated.

2.) 11 Jul 2018 11:35:05
MK I would be so disappointed if he left as their is a really good intelligent footballer in there somewhere
I really believe he's does not realize how good he could be but I really hope he does not leave.

3.) 11 Jul 2018 11:45:47
I agree mk we signed him as an attacking midfielder so he should have been used in his strongest role instead he was converted into a controlling defensive midfielder, shame .

4.) 11 Jul 2018 11:47:23
What would make it doubly odd is if we sold Winjanldum, who I like for his work rate and mobility, and then bought Shaqiri who seems to be the polar opposite?

5.) 11 Jul 2018 12:05:16
Gini on his day is great but he goes missing far too often, especially when we play away.

Agree with Juicer though.

6.) 11 Jul 2018 12:28:35
Gini had his day 3 times last season I think, we have upgraded with 2 players already and if Henderson continues his world cup form into the new season and with Ox, Lallana and Milner I don't think he will get games, good luck to him.

7.) 11 Jul 2018 12:29:47
Hailstones, how can you know that we signed him as an attacking midfielder? He’s virtually never played in attacking mid for us, so I imagine when Klopp initially spoke to him upon signing he probably didn’t tell him he saw him as an attacking mid, seen as he then played him consistently as a CM.

8.) 11 Jul 2018 13:05:03
When we signed him from Newcastle we bought him on the back of playing well for Newcastle scoring goals and assists in an advanced midfield role and even played as an outright attacker, I would prefer too have seen him further forward contributing too the attack, but he should be commended for his professionalism and versatility as he even played in defence for us .

9.) 11 Jul 2018 13:13:56
There's a lot of affection for Wiji but I can't be sad at the prospect of him leaving, there's simply no need for him. Over the last two years he's fallen down the pecking order and he only played so often last year due to injuries to others. I wish him well at his next club.

10.) 11 Jul 2018 13:17:12
Not saying he's of the same quality but he reminds me so much of Barnes when he's on the ball.

11.) 11 Jul 2018 13:23:06
He has asked for clarification from Klopp before making a final decision. someone from Fenerbahce said this was the situation, but it seems to have an amount of truth in it given that Ed001 has pretty much confirmed he is doing the same. I expect he will go although I think he's fantastic and would love him to stay. And with Shaqiri almost completed (if we believe some pretty reliable sources) surely that is Lallana left looking to pursue a career elsewhere. I would like to point out to some detractors (me included) that Shaqiri's bad attitude is directly related to his time at Stoke. where Arnautovic allegedly had a bad attitude as well but all of a sudden West Ham say they want in excess of £60m for him. The point is that it is possible to be a good player in a bad circumstance (we've been that for many a signed prospect) - If he comes I hope he'll prove us all wrong. I doubt it but I hope.

12.) 12 Jul 2018 16:08:47
Clearly player performance depends on what is happening around him, and how he is deployed.

How hard would Modric try and how good would he look if he was playing in the Panama or Saudi Arabia midfield, instead of beside Rakitic and Perisic?

Wihnaldum looked a better player at Newcastle, used in a different role than at LFC.

No reason to assume the Shaqiri of Stoke will be the same at LFC.

Happy new year everyone. Just a quick question. How is the ox doing? Seems to be the forgotten man.

The_TimelordV1

1.) 01 Jan 2019 16:53:34
I believe he’s returning to first team training in February, which is great news. Klopp said this a few days back:

"[It's the] best news. He started going on the pitch and from the first step he looked completely normal, " Klopp said.

"Sometimes when players are coming back from injury and start running, you see them not really limping, but it's not the picture you had in your mind.

"With Ox, from the first step, it looked like Ox. It was really nice, and then you had to wait for the reaction - there was no reaction, which is even nicer. ”

The lad will be massive for us on the tail end of the season, imo.

2.) 01 Jan 2019 16:58:40
Looks like he’s doing well. Does anyone know if Brewster is back training yet?

3.) 01 Jan 2019 18:14:14
Thanks.

4.) 01 Jan 2019 19:58:44
What a boost it will be to get a fully fit aoc for the run in.

5.) 01 Jan 2019 23:04:52
Really hoping he is fit for the run in. Would be perfect in that same role Shaqiri has been operating. That said, no reason to rush him back the way we have been performing.

21 Jun 2018 10:47:22
According to sky we are now in the running for jack grealish if Aston Villa. We are supposed to be willing to get near there £40 million asking price after spurs wouldn't go over £20 million.

Personally I think that lad has good potential but would only be a bench warmer.

Also if I can ask the Ed's if they like me are worried when the African nations comes up we will lose most of our frontline?

The_TimelordV1

{Ed002's Note - The African Nations will have no impact on Liverpool.}

1.) 21 Jun 2018 10:58:09
And no interest in Grealish I hope. Bang average.

2.) 21 Jun 2018 12:01:05
Hasn't been moved to the summer?

3.) 21 Jun 2018 12:23:28
That's what I thought but not sure what year.

4.) 21 Jun 2018 17:51:27
Yes I had a look and it has been moved to the summer next year. Apologies to everyone.

Sir kenny!

Better get the sign guys back for the stand.

27 Jan 2018 19:16:59
I know it's still a bit off but I was wondering if Liverpool made it to the semi final of the FA cup and were drawn against Spurs, would the game still take place at Wembley which would surely be a unfair advantage to Spurs? Just wondering what the Ed's think?

The_TimelordV1

{Ed002's Note - It would be moved.}

1.) 27 Jan 2018 19:40:55
Would it actually? Id rather it be played at Wembley, more of a day out - equal fan allocation too.

2.) 27 Jan 2018 19:59:11
Cardiff?

3.) 27 Jan 2018 20:14:04
Semi final lol🙈 Not the way we defend, worse I've seen in a long time watching Liverpool.

4.) 27 Jan 2018 20:34:02
You are right. Our defence is beyond words. shocking that Klopp is unable to fix it. Oh Liverpool! We need Devine help. Klopp is not the coach for us! I am sorry. It’s clear that Matip is useless but keeps on fielding him.

5.) 27 Jan 2018 21:02:57
AA has been a liability today.

6.) 27 Jan 2018 21:11:14
Maybe it's time for midfield for Alexander Arnold.

7.) 27 Jan 2018 21:16:04
Semi final?! 😂😂😂😂.

8.) 27 Jan 2018 21:47:27
Another bad day. Should we continue to be patient with Klopp? That’s a question all Fans of Liverpool should now start asking themselves. Pls it’s time to stop deluding ourselves.

9.) 27 Jan 2018 21:53:22
How is Wembley an advantage?

10.) 27 Jan 2018 22:01:20
Hailstones, couldn’t be as bad as Wiji, worth a shot.

11.) 27 Jan 2018 22:11:06
Get a grip Rafa!
First home loss in 9 months, wow!

12.) 27 Jan 2018 22:11:34
I think Liverpool fans have to be honest with themselves and stop hibernating in dreams. It’s a simple question.

Would another coach had won this match with the same players on the field?

If the answer is yes then we are obviously facing a tactical issue. It’s as simple as that. I seriously think this is precisely the question that the Liverpool leadership will be asking themselves this evening.

I also think that the leadership have acceded to much powers to Klopp. His word is final. Wise old men always maintain that “power corrupts absolute power corrupts absolutely.

The vulture is a patient bird but it strikes when least expected! Time to reflect on Mr Klopp’s tenure and ask difficult and uncomfortable questions. Disappointed fan!

13.) 28 Jan 2018 14:04:33
We are currently 4th in the league and any other season would be right in the title chase so I think it’s time for a bit of perspective. We are not the team from the 80s and 90s who swept all before them. We are currently one of the top 6 teams in the premiership who on there day can beat anybody but on a off day can lose to anybody. Yes our defence was very poor again but these things happen in football. Who would have thought Man City would concede 4 against us. I can’t see us getting a better manager than Klopp who can improve us beyond where we have been performing. We will hopefully sort out are goalkeeping situation in the summer, until then get behind the team and manager.

07 Jan 2018 12:03:07
Would Liverpool be interested in bringing in Gareth Bale? Yes I know he has had injuries but he could play anywhere across the front 3 and with the ox slotting into midfield which he has shown promise alongside wiinaldum and can for now until Keita arrives could be very potent.

The_TimelordV1

{Ed001's Note - no why on earth would we when he has publicly slagged off the team and city?}

1.) 07 Jan 2018 12:19:39
Exactly Ed. Can’t stand the pony tailed tw*t. He can do one.

2.) 07 Jan 2018 12:27:14
We will have to buy an ambulance along with Bale.

3.) 07 Jan 2018 12:38:21
Wouldn't touch the lame horse.

4.) 07 Jan 2018 13:54:32
And he has that American Hustle bald spot cover up going on.

5.) 07 Jan 2018 13:57:04
As we all know football fans are fickle sometimes. If he came and scored the goals which fired us to a title challenge all past discretion’s would be forgiven.

6.) 07 Jan 2018 15:26:38
And why would we want him to come and score the goals to win us the PL when he dissed the club and the city hence, the fans, Timelord?

7.) 07 Jan 2018 20:27:55
I am just pointing out the man is available and we have money to spend. You can’t deny the man has quality when fully fit and people always say things they regret later in life. Forgive and forget is my moto, although as people say it would be highly unlikely. Some people want Suarez back after all the problems he caused for the club.
