Does anyone know if LFC have been looking at Kouadio Kone as I saw he may be of interest?

Toe knee

{Ed002's Note - There is interest from elsewhere but I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool.}

1.) 28 Dec 2022 17:14:12
Would be a great alternative to Caicedo. The type of player we need.

2.) 28 Dec 2022 18:15:24
Thanks for taking the time to respond ED002. Hope you’ve had a nice Xmas.

{Ed002's Note - And you.}

05 Jan 2021 22:33:31
any of the Eds heard if LFC has any interest in Felix Uduokhai? as i've heard we are, although to be fair i know nothing of him as a player.

Toe knee

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest and he only joined them in the summer.}

1.) 05 Jan 2021 23:35:46
thanks Ed, much appreciated.

hi ed02, hope you're keeping well. i heard some reports that we've been looking at David Carmo from Braga, have you heard anything in this regard? Thanks in advance.

Toe knee

{Ed002's Note - David Carmo (CB) Braga have rejected an offer for Carmo from Leicester as they don't wish to sell but they could be interested if a firm decent cash offer were made. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool at this time.}

1.) 29 Dec 2020 23:43:11
He must be half decent if Leicester are interested in him.

2.) 29 Dec 2020 23:46:28
thx Ed02, much appreciated.

hi eds, i've heard we're interested in Evan N'dicka. i've searched and couldn't find anything. is there anything to this? hope you're all well 👌.

Toe knee

{Ed002's Note - Evan N'dicka (CB/LB) has been scouted by a number of sides including Milan, Arsenal, Marseille, Sevilla, Valencia and Nice. It has been suggested that Milan would be open to an exchange for Andre Silva. Arsenal have certainly not approached his club as they will be no more than fishing just in case Pablo Mari did not work out and they really don't need any more CBs with Saliba returning. Marseille want to replace loanee Alvaro Gonzalez with a left footed CB and PSG are keen to recruit the player. Eintracht Frankfurt will not want to sell. I am not aware of Liverpool declaring any interest although he is well thought of - yet to declare national preference which could impact any PSG interest.}

24 Sep 2019 18:50:52
Any of the eds know if it is it true that klopp has added Vitor Matos to the coaching staff?

Toe knee

{Ed001's Note - seems to be yes. Unless he has a change of heart.}

1.) 24 Sep 2019 20:28:49
Who is he?

2.) 24 Sep 2019 21:27:47
Was Porto U23 Assistant Coach. Or it could be the Michelin Star chef.

3.) 24 Sep 2019 23:58:02
If I've found the right one, then he's the U23 Assistant Coach at FC Porto. Specialist in the "Tactical Periodization methodology" in coaching/ training. Which "focuses on the training process as a teaching-learning process based on a chaotic-systemic reality that differs from others’ classical approaches. "

Silly me, who thought football was all about kicking a ball and running after it.

4.) 25 Sep 2019 15:21:20
The more I hear from pep ljinders the more he sounds like Rodgers he's got all the phrases and buzzwords under the sun but is he a b.s. merchant? The Porto u23 guy sounds like something pep would be involved with as he came from there and would probably know or have recommended the guy. And his job title or specialised subject sounds like more bs.

5.) 25 Sep 2019 15:57:38
So full of bs that klopp trusts ljinders with his life by the seems of things.

6.) 25 Sep 2019 16:57:22
it will be interesting to see how quickly this matos addition will stir back up the ruben neves rumors.

7.) 25 Sep 2019 17:39:19
If Pep is full of b. s., it's good quality b. s. that's working. The kind you can turn into fuel.

Record since Pep came on board as number 2: one of the best teams of the PL era, European champions.

To me new coach suggests not only Ruben Neves - and several other Portuguese players - but that Pep is taking more control.

And btw, the b. s. is based on the New Zealand All Blacks philosophy. It means players have to learn to solve problems on the field, because a match unfolds in an unpredictable manner. It has worked out pretty well for them.

8.) 25 Sep 2019 18:02:40
What’s impressive about Klopp’s management is that he is very open minded to new ideas, particularly at his age when many people shut off their minds to change.

9.) 25 Sep 2019 19:26:03
Interesting information Red67, thanks for sharing! Makes me think about the Wijnaldum goal against Cardiff last season, the players spotted the opportunity and felt empowered by the management to make a tactical decision.

10.) 26 Sep 2019 16:11:19

================
He is only 52 . we are young and full of life at this young age .
Also he is a scientist, and us scientists always looking for new ways to improve something or introduce something.

11.) 28 Sep 2019 10:09:21
I don't see the connection between this coach and bringing in Ruben Névés. Because they're both Portuguese? How many German players have been brought in since Klopp became our manager?

12.) 04 Oct 2019 09:19:36
Jezza, you seem to not grasp the diff. btw someone who is very measured in his words with one who is a snake oil salesman. Pep (cos I have seen him speak in his pressers) is very calm, logical, candid and knowledgeable about the stuff he talks about. You can tell with the words he uses. He does not make crazy, outrageous, WTF-like statements that sound dumb to everyone else than himself, something BR was very good at esp. when he was under pressure. Check his post game comments after we lost 6-1 to Stoke and see for yourself.

BR was so pathetic in the media that I remember Ed02 saying that even the club were embarrassed and had to reel him in at times. BR at the time, only seemed to care about his image and how he came off to the media YET could coach a defence to to defend a mere set piece. Comparing Pep is BR in the regard, is rubbish esp. if he is Klopp's most trusted assistant and per Ed01, a fav. to take over from Klopp when he leaves (my pick as well) .

Hopefully everyone has now chilled out after last night. I just want to say that what Klopp has done for us in bringing the title home and CL is enough to keep me going for the next 30 years. Winning is not a right, whether this a blip (which i think it is) or the beginning of the end so be it, just to enjoy the ride. YNWA.

1.) 08 Feb 2021 20:04:43
May be not the next 30 years lol but I can wait another year for Klopp to get us the second title.

2.) 08 Feb 2021 20:09:29
Toe knee great post totally happy what klopp has done.

3.) 08 Feb 2021 20:17:37
Fully agree with you.

I've got to put things into perspective, some of you may agree with me some of you may not. The backlash from these so called fans after this defeat and recent form is disgraceful. You're all sounding like plastic Chelsea/ Man City fans that only support the club because of success. If that's the case you are not a true fan. I understand, it's difficult to take due to our recent success, we have been spoilt. Some of you need to remember the dark days of Roy Hodgson.

This team and this manager has been absolutely exceptional for the past 3 years. Two champions league finals, with one win. 97 and 99 points, any other year, that's back to back league titles. We won the champions league the year we finished on 97 points and lost only 4 games over 2 seasons, 2 of which came after we won the league. They have preformed to an incredibly high standard for the last few seasons, that alone is crazy.

This season has been like no other, no proper pre-season, matches every 3-4 days, players catching C.V. (which if you've had it, would know, the fatigue is crippling), no fans, more injuries and considerably lower income. In hindsight it's easy to say we should of replaced Lovern in the summer. Who could of predicted we'd have season ending injuries to all 3 of our centre backs. We simply didn't and do not have enough money under the current circumstances to bring in all the players we need. Yes, it has highlighted some of our back up options aren't good enough. I'm sure Klopp will address this in the up and coming transfer windows, if the money is available.

We have to keep the faith in the team and get behind them, now more than ever. This team is full of heros who ended the long wait for a Premier League Trophy, they deserve our respect, even now. Let's hope we finished 3rd or 4th and rebuild for next season. We may even have a good run in the champions league again. Take each game as it comes and continue to support this great club, win, lose or draw.

4.) 08 Feb 2021 20:24:33
Bravo :)

5.) 08 Feb 2021 20:50:09
Exactly. I know its not all rosy but you cannot win them all.

I'm just glad we won it as my dad is getting on and he was there in the kop in the late 80's so knows what it's all about.

Nice when we win but there more to it than that. The club will still be going when we're all gone no doubt.

Keep the faith. Simple.

6.) 08 Feb 2021 20:57:46
Top post.

7.) 08 Feb 2021 21:18:31
Careful Jord. Said similar a week ago and they came out of the woodwork.

8.) 08 Feb 2021 22:12:06
The backlash to this loss has been disgraceful not just here but in a couple of fan sites I have checked. I fully agree with the posts on here. This team demands respect and deserves respect for all they have achieved. They are heros and legends of our great club and having a crap season with all the massive issues we are having, will NEVER change this fact.

This is where we stand up, grow a spine and support this team cos it is the least they deserve for all they have done for us and if you cannot do that esp when the boys and manager need it the most then, that great Shankly quote applies to you to a T.

9.) 08 Feb 2021 23:08:38
I have no doubt that had we left Everton with the 3 points and no injuries then we would have cake walked this league. The poor form is a direct result of mental tiredness, tiredness brought on by a rapidly spiralling series of unfortunate events.

That’s just the way it is, and anybody pointing fingers at Klopp or players like Thiago need to give their head a wobble.

If anyone can give me an answer of anything we could have realistically done different going into and during this season then let me know.

10.) 09 Feb 2021 01:49:12
Toe knee, no offence you clearly aren’t bothered about the success of the club if your happy to wait for another 30 years to win the league title. For me, I want our club to win as much as they can every season. We might not win but that’s the mentality the players should have and I would hope that fans aren’t happy to just win the league and not win anything for years afterwards. As fans, we should help drive the team to success too.

hi ed01 hope you're well mate, slightly off topic and in keeping with the internationals coming up, do you think English football suffers through the obsession of picking players whose greatest attributes are their physical abilities as opposed to their technical skills and most importantly their football brain? all i seem to see in the PL is athletes, who are quick, strong, big etc but with no football intellect? (i do also recognise that england doesn't appear to be blessed with great coaches in comparison to other countries) Love to hear your thoughts.

Toe knee

{Ed001's Note - very much so. They have started to obsess over technique as well now, but they never have cared about brains, which is bizarre. Having players who are intelligent can make the world of difference.}

1.) 30 Sep 2020 06:58:17
It was interesting your article on Bruce-Pallister, Bruce is the example for this scenario - as an athlete with his injuries he may not have made it as a pro, certainly not at the top level. His greatest asset was his brain, I can think of similar type players who now just don't seen to exist. Perhaps that's why defending generally is awful. For example Arsenal's insistence on playing from 6 yards was bizarre especially having seen Mane score the week before. Maybe managers don't have brains either.

{Ed001's Note - Bruce was also slow, so you are right he would have struggled to make it through the youth ranks in the modern era. Players are overcoached from the start now, rather than learning the game just by playing and getting an instinctive understanding.}

2.) 30 Sep 2020 07:32:55
Ed001 have you seen Bergkamps article on the BBC football page. Mentions everything you always say how youth coaches no longer let a player think for themselves and that is what cryuff taught him. Essentially creating robots who struggle in matches when something goes wrong and have to look over at the bench for help.

{Ed001's Note - I haven't read the article, but you see it all the time, young players not figuring out how to fix things for themselves. That is one of the differences with Klopp's system over Pep. Klopp gives players freedom to think for themselves, hence why they get given so much freedom to roam about. Pep wants 11 robots doing exactly what they do in practice, repetitive tactical plays that have to be done exactly right or he is in their ear.}

3.) 30 Sep 2020 17:50:48
Spot on, Ed> France had this very same problem regarding always prioritizing size, pace and physical strength over brains and football IQ. They got this notion from their France '98 team with physical specimens like Thuram, Vieira, Desailly, Karembeau etc. This went on for years until now when they have an actual generation of skillful players coming thru hence, they had to change.

This is why I love the Dutch and Spanish way of developing talent. They prioritize football intelligence and over physical attributes. I mean, check out the likes of Bergkamp, Edgar Davids or even our Gini. Supremely intelligent players with great skill yet with physical ability.

22 Dec 2018 20:07:05
hey ed01 trust you're well mate, quick question if you could sign one of leon bailey or pulisic for LFC who would you choose and why?

Toe knee

{Ed001's Note - Pulisic as he has his head on his shoulders right.}

1.) 23 Dec 2018 06:28:47
Pulisic off to Chelsea by the looks of it. Bailey has been inconsistent (he is young though), and we need a wide player to compete with Mane and Salah. Someone like the aforementioned would give us a real boost in terms of depth and quality. Really don't want to see any more of Origi or Lallana being pushed out wide as they are hopeless playing there.

2.) 23 Dec 2018 07:04:17
You guys think we'd ever make another attempt for Brandt?

3.) 23 Dec 2018 08:44:48
Could it be Bailey knows he is off too another club and his head somewhere else, I like the look of Bailey looks strong skilful direct an can finish.

4.) 23 Dec 2018 19:24:51
Love a Baileys at Christmas.

19 Sep 2018 10:14:16
Hi ed01, hope you're well and enjoyed last night! I look forward to reading your match review, all the best. YNWA.

Toe knee

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, just trying to get a chance to sit down and rewatch it.}

1.) 19 Sep 2018 10:18:08
Bit of an odd “celebration” by Salah when Bobby scored, he almost looked gutted.

He’s not sulking about this mobile phone thing is he? 🤨.

{Ed001's Note - he did celebrate initially, did you want him to run up and down the touchline screaming with joy and jumping into the crowd to hug anyone within reach? He is disappointed with his performances, his shoulder is still not 100% and he needs time to get back to his best.}

2.) 19 Sep 2018 10:38:56
He is way off the pace as I said after the Tottenham game, his performances are poor, he gives the ball away numerous times, his touch is poor and he cost us their second goal last night.
He is still world class but if it was my choice, I would drop him for a couple of games, throw The Shaq' in, and just let him work on his fitness, touch and getting that confidence back.
It is a testament to Klopp, the squad and sheer hard work that we are now 6/ 6 this season without actually playing that well. We are going to click very soon though and give someone a tasty spanking!

{Ed001's Note - seriously? He was not poor and has not been poor. He has not been at the level he was at the end of last season but he has been far from poor and the last thing he needs is to be dropped.}

3.) 19 Sep 2018 10:53:19
Ed 001 appreciate your view *rest deleted*

{Ed001's Note - no you have clearly shown by your previous snide comment that you don't appreciate anything but your own view, so I won't waste anyone else's time or my own with yours.}

4.) 19 Sep 2018 12:44:27
i don't think Salah is off form in anyway. if anything, his presence is pinning back the fullback and the covering midfielder. it is not as if fullbacks he is up against are bombing forward with ease because they have no concerns that he will exploit that space effectively. Or that he is consistently mis-passing or not reading the plays. It is quite delightful to see 3 to 4 players surround him when he gets the ball and yet he is able to find a good pass to keep the ball / keep the attack flowing, or even work some space for himself to thread a final pass or shoot.

Oh, and i won't write him off about scoring identical amount of goals as last season just yet. He really only started his streak in Nov/ Dec i think.

5.) 19 Sep 2018 12:35:26
I disagree with our view on Salah shughes. He is the main focus of the opposition, every time he touches the ball 2 or 3 players surround him. He'll be fine. Also, remember how many clear opportunities he missed early on in the year last season. He'll be fine.

Also Ed001, how cool would it be if Milner keeps up his form for the entire season and ends up as the league player of the year. I don't think it will happen, but that would be fantastic.

{Ed001's Note - it would be brilliant and well deserved if he did.}

6.) 19 Sep 2018 13:22:46
Just having Salah on the pitch worries opposition defenders, they are terrified when he runs at them. Even though it hasn't clicked yet this season he has been far from poor. Remember when Mane went through a lean spell after his injury last season. He'll be firing on all cylinders again very soon.

7.) 19 Sep 2018 13:30:29
I would prefer Salah to tick along as he is for now and peak towards the middle to the end of the season ie "business end". No player can go through an entire season playing outstanding football every game.
Just wondering what your opinion is on Robertson's performance last night? I thought he was decent going forward but when he found himself in the left full position he looked nervous. Gave possession away from a few clearances and with the way he was swinging his leg if there was a stray cat in front of him it would have been booted out of the stadium lol.
Great win by the lads though so well done YNWA.

8.) 19 Sep 2018 13:32:09
I don't think that Salah should be dropped on the basis of his performances, he's not been outstanding this year but he's still playing better than most of the league. But it does seem to me that our club never get anything good out of playing people who are not 100% (most recent example being Lovren about this time last year) . I very much hope that we aren't gambling Salah's long term fitness on his shoulder and that he we have the confidence to let him recuperate as much as needed because we have more than enough tools to beat anyone without him.

9.) 19 Sep 2018 13:32:19
Well, Milner is clearly the best player of the year thus far, for us. And if he turns out to be the best player of the league at the end of the season, then I'm sure very few would question or doubt it. He's more than deserving.

10.) 19 Sep 2018 14:11:12
I think we've too quickly elevated salah to messi status. Now he is having a very natural blip in outcome, he is being over criticized. In reality he has been getting much the same opportunities he was at this stage last year but hasn't been as clinical. And yet he has still put up 2 goals and an assist in 6 starts.

He needs to play through this period.

11.) 19 Sep 2018 15:29:56
Yeah sgynwa dropping Salah would be the worst and dumbest thing to do, thank dog you're not our manager, that would only make matters worse. I was actually thinking the opposite, that Salah should start vs Southampton and put Shaq in for Sadio. The best think for Mo is to play through his funk until he bangs in a couple of goals and Ingsless Saints at Anfield is the perfect chance to do just that.

12.) 19 Sep 2018 22:14:37
Thanks ed, so you don’t think it’s anything to do with this mobile phone thing then?

{Ed001's Note - no mate, I don't.}

13.) 19 Sep 2018 23:26:00
Salah needs to be dropped for shaqiri. Shoot me down but Mane is head and shoulders above Salah! He is so direct and his quick feet! Excellent! Should be in the top 3 signings under klopp!

14.) 20 Sep 2018 15:22:53
i believe Jurgen Meister totally misread my post!

15.) 20 Sep 2018 18:04:07
I thought he has still looked a danger in all are games upto now things just are not going for him and as ed said still not 100% think he might be feeling a bit of pressure to follow up from last season with nearly every pundit going on about him doing it for a second season. but I don't think any of are forwards are in full flow yet so god help everybody when they are.
YNWA.
