So does anyone still genuinely think we didn’t need to sign more midfielders in the summer?

ViktorVaughanVaudevilleVillain

1.) 07 Sep 2022 21:41:12
Unfortunately VVVV the big German fella that seems to have lost all his power since getting his eyes lasered thought so.

2.) 07 Sep 2022 21:41:46
Don’t panic. We nearly won’t the quadruple last year.

3.) 07 Sep 2022 21:46:58
The owners don't want to spend unless we get a mid for half the price he is worth that can play 11 positions so expect a milner 1 year deal next summer.

4.) 07 Sep 2022 21:50:30
That's way more than a midfield problem.

Salah awful, gomez can't defend, trent looks like a child who's spat his dummy out and doesn't want to play anymore.

Bellingham doesn't fix any of that tonight.

5.) 07 Sep 2022 21:51:53
A midfielder will never deter from performances from the the likes of virg and trent. Both massive earners
Frankly disgraceful. Gomez might get a lot of crap tonight but his confidence disappeared and he was left isolated. He made mistakes but I tell you what. He made the effort to run back and Try and win the balls.

6.) 07 Sep 2022 22:05:31
Our squad isn't good enough. Getting found out, we looked absolutely knackered from the first minute.

These players don't turn bad overnight, when have you seen Virg, TAA, robbo and fabinho look so bad. They are spent.

Unfortunately we are run as a sell to buy and thankfully last season we had no injuries. Need owners that can put money into improving the squad, simple as.

7.) 07 Sep 2022 22:06:38
What has happened to the desire and hunger from our team! There literally a handful that can hold there heads up. 7 games in and we look like a beaten team. The most experienced players look like a shadow of them selfs. And I can’t get the image of linders talking about his book!
Klopp you really need to go back to basics and play fit energetic players who want it more than they want there pay cheq.

8.) 07 Sep 2022 22:16:20
Our defence is shocking, Trent honestly needs to give his head a wobble. The lack of desire for a local lad and prior to this season probably my favourite player is shocking. Virgil no leadership back there and Robbo just seems to have run out of steam.

Most of our issues still stem for the lack of physicality and pace in midfield leaving us massively exposed when we lose the ball. We cannot have Elliot playing right wing and Milner running around like a headless chicken. One simple ball or run past Fabs and teams are right at our CBs. On the subject of Fabs, he is so slow and ponderous. Like running past a cone at the moment, no chance of him getting back.

Salah is playing within himself and far too wide. Nunez is a donkey and cannot be used to link up the play. If he is in the team we need to stick him on the shoulder and play the numbers game - he will miss some and score some but will get goals. Diaz is a beast but strangely seems to need for us to be losing for him to get fired up. Less said about Bobby the better.

Only positive is that Thiago is back. Shameful that our best and most technical player was having to come on and press and win some tackles while others such as Trent were watching.

Hate to say it ans to me Klopp is untouchable but we have a couple of tough games coming up. My fear is that we lose and people start calling for his head. He needs to sort this out asap. Needs to get back to basics and sort this midfield out. Elliot been great but needs to take him out and go with Thiago, fab and Perhaps Arthur imo to try and steady the ship.

9.) 07 Sep 2022 22:23:04
You could have dropped Stevie or Souness in that midfield tonight and I don’t think it would have made a difference.

It’s not about form anymore it’s about passion and will. There was barely any of it. Defence was an embarrassment.

10.) 07 Sep 2022 22:23:30
Cookee I agree with that. Trent and virg were equally as bad, and Trent’s effort levels were far less that Gomez.

11.) 07 Sep 2022 22:24:00
As much as I wanted a midfielder, this is way deeper than that (or Mane leaving) . The players have been pathetic.

No one bar Diaz can come out with any credit. Players like Robbo, Salah etc. may have been extremely poor but at least we can see some effort. However Trent and Gomez's effort has been disgraceful - walking and so casual. Both should be dropped.

Not really sure that any tactical/ formation changes or new signings will fix it, if the ego of the players has gone so big that they think no longer have to run or press.

12.) 07 Sep 2022 22:26:23
Our Carabao Cup Midfield, is starting away at Napoli
In the UCL.
We don’t need to name names, so all you posters that said we don’t need players, come on own up and say you was wrong and are part of the problem.
The only way back is training harder, running double, and the fans putting pressure on saying, this is not acceptable.

13.) 07 Sep 2022 22:29:05
All the midfielders in the world aren't going to fix some of the dreadful defending we are seeing recently or fix the lack of chemistry from whoever is playing in the front 3.

14.) 07 Sep 2022 22:30:47
Gomez was shocking. There's a reason he got hooked. Yes, there was more to it than just him buy my god he got ripped to shreds whoever came up against him. He was weak to say the very least. Brutal.

15.) 07 Sep 2022 22:31:25
Speechless at what I’ve been seeing. When you think it can’t get any worse, it does. It’s like the never ended nightmare.

Players - Desire and hunger has completely gone. Salah is having the longest “blip” that I’ve seen in a while. I mean, it’s almost like he is still at AFCON. Trent just strolling to get back. VVD is playing so below par. Milner should not be anywhere near the starting line up! Nunez comes on and the team stop putting the ball in the box. Honestly can’t make it up. Nunez needs to be instructed to play centrally, not on the wings and off the shoulder of the last defender and just feed the guy. As for Gomez, I’m sorry but he ain’t good enough and it’s not the player he once was pre injuries, plain and simple!

Klopp - I would actually love to hear what him and the coaches discuss after matches. He is making the same decisions with tactics, formation and utilisation of players week in week out despite the poor results and poor showing. 433 Is clearly not working anymore. Playing Elliot on the right side of a 3 man midfield and instructing Trent to bomb forward with no contingencies is just plan ridiculous and asking for trouble. That means Fabinho is left to cover a wide space in the middle of the park and the right sided central defender is pulled out of position. Yet, Klopp is setting his team out the same way again and again. His subs are also baffling at times and when he actually does decide to make them they are too late. It’s almost like Klopp is making all the wrong decisions all of the time. The players are letting him down but equally he is letting himself down because a lot of the problems are glaringly obvious and solvable.

16.) 07 Sep 2022 22:35:55
Klopp not happy and said its time to reinvent ourselves. thought that we was supposed to do in pre season. Let's see what he does. But I bet we won't see 433 in next game finally.

{Ed002's Note - To be honest he will just be miffed at this time. I would not read too much in to it.}

17.) 07 Sep 2022 22:48:19
People seem to forget we did this before in the season after our title win, where we had something like 6 losses in a row at Anfield. We fixed it then and we can fix it now.

It's likely a combination of adjustment in tactics, new personnel and tiredness. We went to the final of every cup last season and put in a mammoth effort in the league, we are likely physically, mentally and emotionally drained so expect this rough patch to continue for a few more games at least before its sorted. But it will be sorted.

18.) 07 Sep 2022 22:58:48
Our build up play is the slowest it's been in years passing around the back can never get out anymore and when we do we mess it up fairly quick aside from the poor defending by everyone.

19.) 07 Sep 2022 23:36:24
Well it's happened we're the new Man Utd, just with a worse defense. Off to blame it all on our greatest modern Manager and our owners for TAA and VVD wandering about masquerading as elite footballers. Bad week to give up scotch.

20.) 07 Sep 2022 23:55:10
I always said we needed two midfielders. We know the big names that we were linked with but they didn't happen. We did need some new legs in there but who? Do we sign players for a season or with the benefit of hindsight?
Add to that the shocking defending and a front three that are finding their feet it isn't looking good.
I'm not going to write the team off just yet but I'm struggling for positives apart from Alisson, Elliott, Diaz and the return of Thiago.
Heads up, Redmen.

21.) 08 Sep 2022 00:04:48
Have to admit, the result has been coming for a while now. We are below par in every department.

The season is still salvageable but Klopp needs to ditch this awful new system and get back to basics, fast. We are not City and don’t have the midfielders to implement what we’re trying.

Let’s fix up.

22.) 08 Sep 2022 00:09:40
This has to be the most emojied post this season. Just saying.

23.) 08 Sep 2022 00:13:50
People have said "Trent can't defend" in the past, but at present, it looks like he can't be bothered. I've noticed a few times in recent games, he casually strolls around.
Salah has been out of sorts since the AFCON and I wonder if his big pay rise has caused some unhappiness amongst the senior players.
As for midfielders, we've all known the situation for a while and still very little has been done to address it.

24.) 08 Sep 2022 04:25:39
So many players appeared to have lost form or have finally gotten too old. We allowed teams like Chelsea, United, Spurs et al. To spend big while city just did what they always do, that may have been okay if the team didn't look completely shot of confidence. This is still the same team that did City in the Charity Shield. I simply don't know what's going on with them.

25.) 08 Sep 2022 04:59:22
Southgate might be a clown himself but there is a good reasoning why he doesn’t play Gomez and Trent. Laughable this page called him the second best English defender.

26.) 08 Sep 2022 07:45:58
Anyone who still thinks this is a lack of midfielder issue is living on cloud delusion. A shiny new set of midfielders cannot even function if they are mentally and physically tired like our boys looked last night and has looked this season for the most part.

But people can keep telling themselves that had we signed Bellingham and Tchouameni, the whole team would suddenly NOT be tired of the exertions if last season, as Ed01 has alluded to several times before. If cos clearly these players have such powers.

27.) 08 Sep 2022 08:33:00
If it is tiredness, as some are suggesting, then that is a huge worry.
The only solution to that is rest and if the close season wasn't enough time to recover, then they are not going to get any rest soon. Apart from non-international players during the WC - there are too many injuries and the squad is too thin to allow for much rotation to allow for rest or dropping under-performers.

28.) 08 Sep 2022 10:52:36
Tiredness ? good grief. Some people will just latch onto any excuse in order to not hold their hands up and say “I was wrong we need midfielders”
(At least Klopp had the balls to admit that) but it was too late to change that. Now we’re stuck and have to graft to January best we can with these incredible players and coaching staff. Then spend some money.

04 May 2022 23:53:32
Your annual reminder that Raheem Sterling left Liverpool to win the Champion’s League.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.

ViktorVaughanVaudevilleVillain

{Ed0666's Note - that kid needs a move he is digressing at City!!!

1.) 05 May 2022 00:40:58
And regressing too Ed 😉.

{Ed0666's Note - fuc*ing auto correct 😂

2.) 05 May 2022 00:44:31
At 27 he's not a kid anymore Ed especially for a winger. He's been playing at the highest level for 10 years now. I think we might have seen his peak.

{Ed0666's Note - Benzema says hello mate.

3.) 05 May 2022 01:53:39
I remember him. Wasn't he cover for Jordan Ibe and Lazar Markovic?
A poor man's Harry Wilson.

4.) 05 May 2022 06:59:12
His natural game has been coached out of him. He was a far better player when he left us than he is now. I agree with Ed0666 he needs a fresh start somewhere.

5.) 05 May 2022 09:16:33
Spot on, ED. Sterling is regressing at City and is no longer that brilliant, young player he was with us back in the day. He needs a change, me thinks.

{Ed0666's Note - I would say he goes back home to London soon. I don’t see him going abroad.

6.) 05 May 2022 13:26:10
I think Benzema is in the minority to be honest ed plus he's a different type of player. I think Sterling's game is too reliant on pace for him to get any better at his age. If I was one of the big European clubs, I wouldn't buy him.

{Ed0666's Note - Ok how about Ribbery & Robben mate they had stellar success into their mid 30’s when game IQ superseded the pace and the trickery.

28 Apr 2022 12:49:44
I see Mino Raiola…….

ViktorVaughanVaudevilleVillain

{Ed0666's Note - Are you for real? The guy is dead 2 minutes and you are making jokes about him. He was beloved by his clients. Have some dignity & class.

1.) 28 Apr 2022 13:44:07
Don't think it's conformed is it? Apparently he is very very ill though, which doesn't bode well.

2.) 28 Apr 2022 13:45:54
He is alive, but apparently very ill. Hope he pulls through.

3.) 28 Apr 2022 13:49:04
Who's dead?

4.) 28 Apr 2022 14:57:32
Just read it's fake news that Raiola passed away. He is however, in a pretty bad state health-wise.

5.) 28 Apr 2022 16:51:15
The perils of believing everything online and then posting it. It's like dropping your pants, bending over and getting hammered. Something our dear beloved friend VVVV has just experienced.

I will always wish good health and long life to anyone and everyone, regardless of whatever, life is that precious.

6.) 28 Apr 2022 17:15:55
^^^^^^
💯 ArAy.

7.) 28 Apr 2022 17:19:06
Mino was loved by his clients, he did the best for HIS CLIENT not for him. unreal people will jump on someone they never knew when he dies slating him. utter disgrace. your no LFV fan acting like that.

05 Feb 2022 13:37:54
Let’s take a moment to laugh at Man United. Schadenfreude is a wonderful thing.

ViktorVaughanVaudevilleVillain

1.) 05 Feb 2022 15:03:47
It's so wonderful isn't it?

2.) 05 Feb 2022 17:45:56
I watched some of the game, and I'm glad I didn't pay for the "pleasure" of it.
Their season continues to unravel and disintegrate before their very eyes. Glorious stuff.

20 Jan 2022 18:40:42
Since we do have a fondness for relegated players (as there can be some exceptional value to be had), out of this years contenders for the drop, who would you pick?

ViktorVaughanVaudevilleVillain

1.) 20 Jan 2022 18:52:11
Richarlson when Everton go down maybe? A bit of a drama queen, but can play.

Dennis is pretty much carrying Watford. And obviously we have existing interest in Sarr.

Omabamidele of Norwich has looked good for Ireland, but international footie's not great to judge on.

2.) 20 Jan 2022 18:55:21
Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

3.) 20 Jan 2022 19:12:29
That would make ed025’s day, Thunderbird.

4.) 20 Jan 2022 19:34:00
Saint max for me.

5.) 20 Jan 2022 19:42:18
Dwight McNeil.

6.) 20 Jan 2022 20:27:42
I’d go for Sarr and Cornet.

7.) 20 Jan 2022 20:45:50
Sarr for me too, saint maxin is too injury prone and has no real output despite his obvious talent. Maybe Dennis.

8.) 20 Jan 2022 22:47:13
Chris Wood for me. Only because he could have gotten two teams relegated.

9.) 21 Jan 2022 02:02:09
This some kind of sick joke VVVV? no way I'm falling for this so you can get off tellimg us how each player isn't good enough
🤣🤣🤣🤣.

10.) 21 Jan 2022 02:30:04
Cornet Sarr Denis S. Maxim Cantwell M. Aarons.

11.) 21 Jan 2022 05:01:49
Dennis is decent and a double deal for him and Sat would not be the worst deal of the summer.

12.) 21 Jan 2022 08:50:24
Sarr or Cornet, as well cos we were interested in Cornet in the past and are still interested in Sarr currently.

13.) 21 Jan 2022 12:14:03
Faithinworks, I didn’t know that Ousmane Dembele, Adama Traore, Renato Sanches or Franck Kessie played for teams about to be relegated? I think the only ones I’d say outright no to is Dwight Neill, as he’s a dyed in the wool United fan and not that good and Todd Cantwell as he’s a bit of an arse by all accounts and he’s not all that good either.

14.) 21 Jan 2022 13:47:57
Dennis looks like he could be a great mane replacement for me, if he were to leave in the summer, supporting with jota. Good in the middle or wide, scores goals and good in the air. Refining his game with us I think he can step up a level.

There’s a reason that he’s at Leicester and not a champions league side, he just doesn’t work hard enough. Not a player worth buying.

You can make an exception for Thiago as he’s genuinely world class. Otavio is not and never will be in that category. It’s.

If Ed says a player is nifty, well liked or well thought of then they’re usually worth a look. Personally I think if we were looking at a player like Tchouameni we could do a lot worse than take a punt on him.

I think he’ll go to Barcelona on a free as well. Can’t complain too much as we completely mugged them over Coutinho, so swings and roundabouts. If we get Nunez that’s softens that blow.

Austria, we don’t necessarily have to sign world class (whatever world class means), but two very good players with the ability to get to that level. Sangare and Neves would be my choice. Not that it matters as it’s not my choice.
