Any chance we could declare Friday a Bellingham free day .
According to Ed02 - by some distance the most reliably informed transfer source on the site - that Bellingham hasn’t made his mind up, two other clubs are in discussions with his club and that we are not, at the moment, in discussions with his club. There really isn’t much else to say about him at the moment.
{Ed002's Note - Unless Liverpool have one of their secret pre-contracts like the one the netted them as so Fernandez in January.}
11 Oct 2022 23:08:50
Mbappe in January - we’re going to need a decent supply of Valium.
1.) 12 Oct 2022 02:17:44
Even that maynot be enough.
2.) 12 Oct 2022 04:37:39
makes total sense. play him instead of fabinho. he'll have the speed to cover our fullbacks
:D.
3.) 12 Oct 2022 07:39:40
Only if he can play in centre-mid!
4.) 12 Oct 2022 08:01:33
Guess it is as least something to laugh at, it’s that ridiculous.
5.) 12 Oct 2022 08:11:36
For ridiculous see previous post below about TAA
Up the pool.
6.) 12 Oct 2022 09:02:58
Dont want him anywhere near our club. Such big ego. We don't need that.
7.) 12 Oct 2022 10:06:55
We don’t need Mbappe. We’ve already got someone in the sporting director role.
8.) 12 Oct 2022 13:09:16
Can you imagine the melt down when he goes to City to pair up with Haaland, good lord there will be no pointing playing till the end of the season. Ha.
9.) 12 Oct 2022 13:35:53
If he’s anything like our other new signings he wouldn’t play anyway, any of them kicked a ball yet?
10.) 12 Oct 2022 17:01:49
Who on earth would want this bag of trouble.
11.) 12 Oct 2022 20:54:36
@Sailor Jerry a bit harsh on Nunez and Carvalho mate.
12.) 13 Oct 2022 00:17:26
Never in a month of Sundays; superb player but attitude is awful and he'd cause dressingroom unrest wherever he plays.
13.) 13 Oct 2022 07:35:09
He suits RM perfectly. The new deal at PSG looks like a load of smoke and mirrors to ensure PSG get a fee for him.
14.) 13 Oct 2022 20:31:52
Re Mbappe, didn’t one of the eds say he is not a trouble maker, fake press boys? If I remember correctly, Mbappe is upset with the lack of application by Naymar.
15.) 13 Oct 2022 20:31:52
Re Mbappe, didn’t one of the eds say he is not a trouble maker, fake press boys? If I remember correctly, Mbappe is upset with the lack of application by Naymar.
16.) 13 Oct 2022 21:03:03
Not that it’s going to happen, I think mbappe would be an instant success, much like haaland has been for city!
01 Sep 2022 09:55:38
And we’re off … Arthur Melo on his way to Liverpool to sign on for a season long loan. What’s that 2nd World War film? The Longest Day ….
1.) 01 Sep 2022 10:15:43
I think we might already be at A Bridge Too Far, WDW.
2.) 01 Sep 2022 10:55:05
Looks like it’s never ending story over end of story.
3.) 01 Sep 2022 11:06:13
Arthur has been sidelined with 15 different injury complaints during his four years playing in Europe.
Should fit in well.
4.) 01 Sep 2022 11:10:05
Is there a movie called ‘the definition of madness’?
Feeling very ‘Davies and Kabak’, you would have thought we would have learnt, but as the great whitesnake would state ‘here we go again’.
5.) 01 Sep 2022 11:16:41
How about Groundhog Day?
6.) 01 Sep 2022 11:17:39
For once let one of these panic last day loan deals pan out. Here's hoping we are all complaining how Juventus are charging us 50 million on the back of an amazing season. Saying he would not be worth half that if it wasn't for klopp.
One thing I know for sure is that by the end of this loan deal we will be complaining. That's for certain.
7.) 01 Sep 2022 11:17:55
He is definitely cover for Thiago then. They can share their 8 injuries a season between them and play 25 games each.
8.) 01 Sep 2022 11:31:33
Liverpool fans "Sign a midfielder, we need bodies".
LFC sign a midfielder
Liverpool fans "No not that one"
9.) 01 Sep 2022 11:35:45
With the constant chatter about injuries, I checked out the average injury incident rate in professional footballers. Apparently in Europes top 5 leagues the average rate is 6.8 injuries per 1000 hours of training and/ or playing. When isolated, playing time averaged the highest at 36 injuries per 1000 hours.
No idea where our players fit into this (whether they average higher or lower) . Someone would need to calculate time spent injured vs time spent training and playing for each of the individual players.
10.) 01 Sep 2022 11:37:54
That’s just crazy enough to work Spaceman.
11.) 01 Sep 2022 12:40:47
Arthur Melo has been signed on loan according to Wikipedia. Look at the wiki entry. If he stays fit he will be an interesting player for us.
12.) 01 Sep 2022 12:46:56
He fits right in. Here is his Injury record.
Tap on image for larger picture:
13.) 01 Sep 2022 11:46:01
Phenomenal at possession, one of the best I've seen. Very hard to chip the ball away from him. But he does absolutely nothing with the ball. He has only short passes, almost never forward. (from a Juve fan) .
Sounds like Gini -IE could offer some control in the MF.
14.) 01 Sep 2022 12:06:52
LFC signs another injury-prone midfielder*
Fixed it for you, Mane ?.
15.) 01 Sep 2022 12:26:14
Anyone remember when we signed Alberto Aquilani from Juventus he already had an ankle injury, done while playing for Juventus, ankle injury done in March he somehow passed the LFC medical, when he signed for LFC in the August, and never made his full debut till late December the same year.
Will history repeat itself?
16.) 01 Sep 2022 13:01:51
A less durable Gini, obviously.
17.) 01 Sep 2022 13:14:32
By all accounts, he only likes to play when he's 100% fit. Just what we're looking for. Sounds like a Brazilian Sturridge.
18.) 01 Sep 2022 13:46:35
Stylistically, he's just like Thiago, and that's *EXACTLY* what Liverpool need when considering the press resistance, pass volume and general 2nd phase qualities they lack when Thiago and Keita are out.
19.) 01 Sep 2022 14:30:05
Directed to the usual suspects like spaceman and 6times. Its amazing that footballers pick up injuries eh. Guess City should not have signed Haaland or we with Darwin. How bout signing a robot instead? Or like Roma signed the durable Gini and he breaks his leg in training accident. The lack of common sense from (I'm assuming) grown men is laughable.
20.) 01 Sep 2022 14:47:34
In his time in Europe he’s missed 47 games in 4 seasons (according to Transfermarkt which is normally accurate), on average that must be better than Keita, Ox and Thiago and comparable with Henderson? It’s not ideal as having to chop and change as it brings no continuity but as a stop gap this season (hopefully sign Bellingham next) it might be a decent signing,
{Ed001's Note - were they all injuries? Some might have been rotation that he missed as well surely? It is very rare that any team plays the same midfield every game these days.}
21.) 01 Sep 2022 13:46:35
Stylistically, he's just like Thiago, and that's *EXACTLY* what Liverpool need when considering the press resistance, pass volume and general 2nd phase qualities they lack when Thiago and Keita are out.
22.) 01 Sep 2022 15:03:40
Seems like am ideal FSG signing, we need a quality addition, that cost money, get a cheap loan player in, saves them cash, he's out with a lot of knocks and we know the Prem gives out more knocks than any league in Europe, strange deal for me but we have owners who aren't that concerned with the squad, they like to make money not spend it.
23.) 01 Sep 2022 16:23:23
Another in the medical room along side old plastic legs Keita and Ox at least the card games will be more interesting now. These owners appear never to learn their lesson pay cheap pay the price.
24.) 01 Sep 2022 17:14:53
Haha pay cheap pay the price indeed. How much did Keita and Ox cost again? Or Pogba? Or Hazard? Transfers are not black and white.
25.) 01 Sep 2022 19:33:45
Depressing, reading all these negative posts.
17 Jun 2022 12:14:56
So, according to Sky, Bayern Munich will be back with an offer for Sadio that matches Liverpool’s valuation.
Sadio gets the new challenge and contract he wants,
BM get the player they want.
Liverpool get the amount they want.
A win-win-win situation.
Good business on our part.
1.) 17 Jun 2022 12:38:39
I wouldn’t be placing too much trust on what sky sports news says.
Bayern are in town for talks today.
No doubt something will be resolved this weekend.
Will it be for the £42mil we priced him at remains to be seen.
I doubt it though.
2.) 17 Jun 2022 12:46:07
Yeah great deal that just about half pays the Nunez deal and the saving on wages from what a new contract Mane would have been granted helps keeps the wage budget lower.
3.) 17 Jun 2022 13:24:22
Think it'll be a bit below the £42.5m meself.
4.) 17 Jun 2022 13:42:07
I suspect it will be the usual contract these days - short of the 42.5 but will be about the figure with the add ons.
5.) 17 Jun 2022 15:33:07
Read something that said Southampton are entitled to a % of anything over what we paid for him. Can any of the Eds tell us if that's true please?
{Ed002's Note - That is correct.}
6.) 17 Jun 2022 15:42:31
Brilliant tweet from CPHQ over on Twatter
Sadio Manes record vs Crystal Palace
Games: 14
Goals: 13
Assists: 3
Wins: 13
He can't hurt us anymore ?.
7.) 17 Jun 2022 16:04:50
Thanks Ed002.
8.) 17 Jun 2022 16:11:26
Sly saying the deal is done. £27.5m with a further £5m based on appearances and another £2.5m based on individual and team achievements.
9.) 17 Jun 2022 19:40:29
Absolutely gutted about him going. I know players move on but I just think he was a brilliant player.
10.) 18 Jun 2022 02:11:07
Sadio has been a fantastic player for us and played a part in pretty much all our major successes. I wish him the best of luck, he leaves a modern day club icon and will always be welcome back.
18 Jan 2022 23:08:29
Eds, if you have the time can you provide a quick update on the likelihood of departures during the current window, please?
The press have made intermittent mention of Nat Phillips, Neco Williams and Big Div but it all seems a bit like rumours rather than anything concrete.
{Ed002's Note - It will be no different to that I previously explained.}
1.) 19 Jan 2022 08:32:04
You'd like to think poor Nat can get himself a move!
2.) 19 Jan 2022 01:30:46
Thanks for the response Ed - seems apart from Aston Villa and perhaps Newcastle there’s not a lot of activity.
3.) 19 Jan 2022 08:54:25
Burnley are going to need him for division 1, when 1/ 2 of their CB's leave.
With the toon buying Carlos, they are out, and no new word on West Ham .
Ed's say he's overpriced, but what else can be bought for 12/ 15m?
4.) 19 Jan 2022 09:33:46
Best option would be to loan for rest of season and then look to sell him in the summer.
5.) 19 Jan 2022 23:02:13
Isnt Nat still out injured with a broken cheekbone? In which case that could effect the likelihood of him leaving.
6.) 20 Jan 2022 04:26:58
Back in training according to Lijnders.
7.) 20 Jan 2022 12:18:08
I think Newcastle will come in at the end of the window and make a bid close to what we’re asking as all their other attempts are falling on their arse.
8.) 20 Jan 2022 14:07:08
Can’t you just put a Zoro mask on for a broken cheekbone and carry on playing?

Would Lorient expect a small Fee, do you think.
Sorry couldn’t help it ….
28 Mar 2023 00:59:28
TAA is 24. That’s pretty young from where I’m sitting :)
27 Mar 2023 22:04:28
I don’t see how we are putting all our eggs in one basket. We are linked with about 5 or. 6 new players every day
The difference with Bellingham as opposed to, say, Rabiot is that a lot of us (including me) think that Bellingham could well be ‘the real deal’.
Even if he is, there is nothing to say that he is the club’s only target or that he is even their primary target.
24 Mar 2023 02:35:26
Eh, if you read what I wrote, rather than what you thought you read you’ll see I used the word potential in there somewhere.
One season of Modric playing half the games and lasting for 60-70 minutes or a kid who has the potential to be (one of) the best in the world in 2 or 3 years if coached by Klopp.
Imagine the comments as soon as Modric has a bad game … Too old, too slow for PL, waste of money, why aren’t we playing Baj / the youngsters, we should have spent the money on Bellingham and the like. But I suppose that could never happen.
23 Mar 2023 09:44:24
We’re having a very bad season (our midfield in particular are playing very badly (or so I’ve read) and we are still 15 points ahead of Wolves with 2 games in hand - seems to me Neves and Nunes are going to have to raise their game to get into our starting 11.
