What do you guys make of Isak’s comments? Sounds like he is very open to moving especially if they don’t scrape CL. And it sounded like he all but name dropped us as his preferred destination. Could this perhaps hint at some conversations among his agents or something having occurred? Am I reading too much in to it?

“I’m very grateful for my time at Newcastle. It’s been an incredible journey, proved I can be an asset to any top team in Europe. My main goal is to win the UCL, if not here, at a club in England with a special history in Europe. ”.

That's brutal on Arsenal.

But seriously, I don't see us committing nine figures to make that deal happen.

2.) 02 Mar 2025 20:50:00
His contract runs until 2028 and Newcastle spent 70 million € on signing him. Will be very expensive, even a 100 million € wouldn't tempt them one bit i would imagine.

3.) 02 Mar 2025 21:18:23
He's replacing Chris Wood for Forest's tilt at the champions League next season.

4.) 02 Mar 2025 22:05:26
Is it true he’s a Liverpool fan?

5.) 02 Mar 2025 22:40:56
We could certainly afford him but I’d imagine he would have to push for the deal to make it happen. Given that there are a number of clubs that could offer him more money than we can his love for Liverpool would have to run deep.

If Isak is on the move we certainly won’t be the only suitors.

6.) 02 Mar 2025 22:46:12
Fully agree with you there, KurtStiener69. For me, it would be stupid for Isak not to keep his options open esp. with all the deserved attention he is getting. He is becoming a top CF and any top player wants to win the CL so not surprised about his comments.

All that being said, Isak does not hold the cards here, IMO. Newcastle have all the cards cos they are trying to add more pieces and build around him and Guimaraes, Gordon etc. So if he keeps moving the way he is moving on the pitch, 120m pound bid won't cut it and I highly doubt we would be the ones making such a bid. I could be wrong cos I never thought we would bid 120m for Caicedo and yet we did.

7.) 03 Mar 2025 06:30:46
When did he say this? I can't find this quote or interview anywhere, is it made up?

8.) 03 Mar 2025 09:14:05
He could put in a transfer request.

9.) 03 Mar 2025 12:23:25
Robboslostlegs, indeed. If I was Newcastle and I decide to sell Isak, I would love a bidding war, for sure.

Well I guess we won’t be signing both kerkez and cunha now.

1.) 01 Mar 2025 20:56:26
Cunha was just giving the Man Utd fan Kerkez what he deserves for disrespecting liverpool earlier this season! haha.

2.) 01 Mar 2025 20:58:57
Why? What have I missed?

3.) 01 Mar 2025 21:15:16
Cunha kicked and headbutted Kerkez in the FA cup game earlier Tristan, If you're asking what Kerkez did to disrespect liverpool, he was streaming with some friends on Youtube earlier this season, and a Liverpool fan asked him to come to Anfield, he replied he will NOT join liverpool, then repeated it 'i say it again' i will NOT join Liverpool while his friends were laughing! So fair play to Cunha (Only joking btw)

Long time lurker occasional poster on about my 10th username cause I keep forgetting!

Thoughts on RB reds? I feel this is going to be a very tough area for us with Connor doing his hammy. Trent is just coming back from an injury and is being asked to play a whole lot of games before the int. Break. He has not t really looked capable/ arsed of playing two games a week. Who deputizes with Joe out? It’s going to have to be quansah isn’t it?

Ed01/ anyone do you know if we have anyone able to step up from the kiddies? I think these next couple weeks will make or break the season. What do you guys think?

Wnc_red

{Ed001's Note - Endo has played full-back in the past and Slot did give McConnell a run out there iirc, so they are obviously options. Mabaya is the one that has been given an opportunity, so I would expect him to be the next one.}

1.) 21 Feb 2025 13:57:10
I'm afraid it would be Quansah. Just have to hope Trent stays fit and turns into a right back for the rest of the season.

2.) 21 Feb 2025 14:31:20
Darwin Nunez right back. Thank me later Arne.

3.) 21 Feb 2025 16:22:03
Unfortunately Bradley does seem to be injury-prone as soon as he gets a run of games.

4.) 21 Feb 2025 16:35:47
El bob does he know how to play the offside trap.

5.) 21 Feb 2025 17:01:02
JK I don’t think so. But he could be successful by accident.

6.) 21 Feb 2025 17:51:11
Bradley's muscle injuries are concerning. One to keep an eye on.

We definitely could have done with Joey G being available about now. Such a shame.

Konate, Endo, Curtis, Mabaya can all play there if push comes to shove. Trent should be getting close to full fitness over these next two games.

7.) 21 Feb 2025 19:28:25
@FPF, I agreement Bradley’s injuries buy I think it might be, at least partially, to him still growing - it’s happened to a few lads in recent times.

In reality this makes 2/ 3 of arsenals midfield the same midfield that finished near the bottom of the Spanish league two seasons ago. They are welcome to it.

A wirtz profile would indeed be great! He’s solely a 10 and not a winger right?

They now have 2/ 3 of a midfield that finished at the bottom of the Spanish league last year. Not feeling too threatened.

Ed are you implying a scenario where he would coach RM and maintain his position with Red Bull concurrently?

Wnc_red

{Ed001's Note - no, not even close to implying that. Where did you get that from? Isn't it obvious I mean Mona? She was the reason he stayed for an extended spell at Liverpool, she is why he retired from club management.}

Put those knives away but as the striker market is not too hot at the moment I think maybe keeping Darwin is the way to go. I read of he starts any more games he triggers another clause and will cost us 5m.

Ed 02 said he (macca) was on madrids shopping list the next couple summers I wonder if that still holds true.

This game is too big I don’t see slot starting endo unless it was forced. Hope we batter then with the way they have been talking. They are going to experience an electrified Anfield.

I appreciate you noting the celebration, or basically lack of celebration, of the equalizer. They got back up and ready to kick off within seconds. Then compare it to rice and arsenal’s celebration-celebrating like they had won a trophy when they equalized against United. Notable difference between mentalities of the two teams.

Wnc_red

{Ed001's Note - that Rice celebration was exactly my point. Arteta instils the wrong mentality.}
