What is going on on this page?
Vitriol towards anyone supporting England everywhere i look.
Ok, you don't want to get behind the team, that's fair enough, but how about toning down the abuse.
The worst offender isn't even English yet dives on every post to spread hate - xenophobia at it's finest! (Or is xenophobia only flagged if a Brit commits it? )
Slag off England all you want, because the mighty Super Eagles are the kings of football aren't they and have been winning cups left, right and centre for years 🤔.

WorcesterEFC

{Ed014's Note - who are the super eagles, are they a Rugby League team?

1.) 30 Jun 2021 19:09:54
As an Irish man, I've no problem admitting supporting the English. End of the day I support English football, Liverpool. One thing I will admit though is I hate the English press, I feel a lot of non English supporters will agree with me on this. I don't mind people getting excited but please be realistic. That's all we ask. Good luck for the remainder of the tournament!

2.) 30 Jun 2021 19:44:20
It’s coming home.

3.) 30 Jun 2021 19:55:30
Main reason I don't want England to win anything is purely because of the press. Sterling has scored 75% of England's goals at the euros. Kane hasn't had one decent match but got his goals yesterday. Who's face is plastered on every single paper other than the scum? Kane.

{Ed025's Note - hes england captain RS so he is bound to get the attention mate, no agenda as far as i see it..

4.) 30 Jun 2021 19:24:22
Ditto Stenova.
Delighted even England/ Liverpool lads do well. Closest neighbours, all that.

But hate the press and the utter bull.

5.) 30 Jun 2021 21:20:53
Press report today. A young family including a three year old child were turned away from a land rover camping trip in Northampton as they were scousers. The organisers said no one from Liverpool in here

Now imagine that was a race?

There's hostility to England because most scousers are treated this way wherever they go.

I'm. not condoning it but you have to see it from the other side. I've been down south ten years and I know I'm an outsider and mostly disliked because of my accent or whatever that is. Sad really but that's modern day Britain.

Also the poor child cried all the way home as he'd been waiting weeks to see these Land rovers. heartbreaking.

{Ed025's Note - see it from the other side???, your having a giraffe aren,t you mate, not only is it immoral its illegal and they should be brought to book..

6.) 30 Jun 2021 21:37:05
I meant see it from the other side of the original poster as to why some scousers have hostility towards England.

{Ed025's Note - oh right PP, i got the wrong end of the stick there it seems, sorry mate..

7.) 30 Jun 2021 21:37:22
I don't show vitriol or hate to England, I nothing them. If I had a choice, sure I'm happy for them to win the tournament, but wouldn't feel any negative emotion if they didn't.
I know people often get slammed when they talk about the difference between fans born or living in Liverpool and those from outside, and this is the only area where I think it's relevant.
So Worcester, fine to have your opinion, just don't judge those who differ, particularly in this regard.

8.) 30 Jun 2021 21:46:16
No worries ed my post isn't exactly Shakespearean.

What grinds my gears is people think it's perfectly acceptable to be prejudice towards scousers or people from whichever area it may be. But dare say that to a person of ethnicity or certain religion groups they'd be screaming blue murder.

{Ed025's Note - i know PP its disgusting mate..

9.) 30 Jun 2021 21:55:39
I hope we win, it’s another medal for Henderson then, but he sh ohhh of be the captain, Christ he should be first name on the sheet I think that rice is majorly overrated.

10.) 01 Jul 2021 11:38:22
Pete price my family and I have seen this sort of thing quite often and I totally agree with your post it tends to bother me more than my mother who is the strongest of women. In a world where everyone is talking about how to stop hate it is hardly mentioned the way Liverpudlians have been portrayed over the years we suffer some of the worst hate but I guess just like my mum most scousers are strong enough to let it bounce off them.

IMO the damage has been done and you can never change some people’s opinions the same way a racist in most cases will always be a racist. With me My love of football started with LFC and will end with LFC everything else is just white noise.

Hi Reds, yes I'm an Everton fan but I'm not here to be antagonistic i promise. I just wanted to see if you guys can clear something up.

So i noticed the constant chatter about Keita, excellent player and would be a great addition if he settles here. But RBL have said they do not want to sell. However a few of the posters here (not all, some of you make some fantastic comments and sense) say it does not matter what they say because every player has a price, so eventually you will get him. Then, those very same posters are saying you will never sell Coutinho at any price, he's too important, you're not a selling club, you don't need the money. For that section of posters, which stance is correct?

For the rest of you, who would you prefer, Keita or Coutinho if the situation is that buying one means selling the other? I personally think Coutinho has to stay if you want to challenge. Keita may be an outstanding young talent but has he proved it over a number of seasons, in the EPL, proved he is better than the guy he could replace?

Good luck this season and fingers crossed for a succesful Merseyside campaign, with Everton a spot higher of course.

1.) 21 Jul 2017 16:03:31
Rather keep Coutinho over signing Keita. Coutinho knows and is proven in the BPL, keita is not.

2.) 21 Jul 2017 16:41:55
I don't want him to go. Not many players can do what he does. I feel it would be one step forward and two back no matter who comes in to replace him. If he wants to move then what do you do but get the best price. It's Barcelona guys. However, If its playing with neymar he wants then it's simple. We buy neymar 😂.

3.) 21 Jul 2017 17:14:59
The only difference in this situation is what the player wants. If Barcelona can pay the money which coutinho is available at and critically coutinho wants to leave (I'm fairly sure he doesn't) then he will leave. The same situation with keita only keita (were lead to believe) wants to leave. That's the difference.

4.) 21 Jul 2017 17:18:18
Regardless of Keira's talent and potential, I think other areas of the team are more important to strengthen. With Solanke looking good, Salah coming in and Couts likely to drop deeper (IMO) I would be happy if we signed a solid CB over anything else. No names mentioned.

5.) 21 Jul 2017 17:46:02
Jezza, that's simply wishful thinking.

6.) 21 Jul 2017 17:48:10
You've a lot of sauce, Worcester, coming on here!
Good question to which Jezza has provided, I think, the correct answer.
I'd prefer to keep Coutinho, as another poster said earlier, driving himself to Stoke when recovering from a dose of the Sir Mavericks* showed what he is made of. You have, however, presented a false dichotomy; we could play both.
Just like to point out Everton can't finish higher than 1st! Otherwise good luck and please take points from the Mancs and top London sides!
(* gratuitous Spike Milligan reference)

@big emre how about Baines? let's face it, your lb situation is shambolic. Coleman everyday over Arnold or Clyne. Keane is a huge improvement on Klaven and Lovren. Gana would prove solid competition for your midfield and get ahead of Can, Lallana and Grujic. If you had signed Klaassen you'd be wetting yourselves over what a fantastic season he had last year. Then take a look at our emerging youth, it's miles ahead of anybody you have, Holgate, Kenny, Dowell, Lookman, Davies, Calvert-Lewin.

My apologies to everyone else here for invading your page but comments like this from Big Emre are hugely disrespectful and naive. There's really no need to think every player is awful if they play for Everton. I can admit you have some good players who would improve a lot of teams but some people have a serious case of the red tinted glasses.

Mr. Super Eagle the xenophobe is back with his saltiness i see.
Lose it all you want but cut out the hatred for all things English.
I hate having to interrupt Liverpool fans banter between yourselves but you've been spouting hate for way too long now so i will call you out every time from now on flower!

UNESCO are vehemently against the new stadium yes, and Historic England already filed an objection so we all know where they both stand. However, we comprehensively answered all objections to gain satisfaction that we will actually benefit the site. Even the Green Party were won over despite their concerns i believe.
You need to look at the development as a whole and disregard the fact it's a club a lot of you hate - As 6Times touched upon above, the development will create circa 15,000 jobs. That in itself is a huge boost in this current climate.
We have given plans that show development of Goodison Park will become affordable local housing with leisure and youth facilities, a major benefit for the Walton area surely.
The stadium will be superb, meaning the City of Liverpool will have two high calibre stadiums. When/ If England next host a World Cup, both stadiums are bound to be selected bringing massive tourism and spending to the area.
As for UNESCO, they hate the thought of any development at all on the site. The reality though (and no doubt the councillors who approved planning probably believe this deep down) the site as it is now is a sh*t tip. I hate how disrespectful it sounds, heritage status should be a source of pride, but absolutely nobody wants to go there and visit. There is no benefit at all to the city at present. We have pledged many, many millions (something like £50 million if reporting is correct) to developing a dedicated Heritage Center which would actually turn it into a site that would finally attract tourism. How anybody can object to that i don't know.
All said, the economic and social benefits to the city are huge.
You have to move with the times and that means putting sentiment to one side for the greater good, otherwise we'd stay at the Old Lady forever and Liverpool would become a stagnant backwater instead of it's rightful place amongst Englands top cities.

Anyways, enough rambling. I have my fingers crossed you rediscover enough form to move back up the table, just keep one place behind us and it'll be a great end to the season!

{Ed0666's Note - Brilliant Worcester great insight. Has a championship club ever hosted a World Cup game? 😘

Jealous much? It comes to something when you have to belittle a club for building what will be one of the greatest stadiums in the world! Keep enjoying your second-hand stadium!

*Disclaimer: i actually like Anfield, a fabulous ground in a globally historic city. But some posts just need a retort*.

I tip my hat to most of you for unbiased praise for us. Thank you. Sadly though, Robbiesline, Jay Dub Red, SupaReds - bitter much? "Still haven't played anyone good", "wait till they play someone (waffle) " Away against Spurs is one of the toughest games for everyone! Are you really sitting there thinking it's a guaranteed win for Liverpool when you have that fixture? Most likely you will hope to win but if you only take a point from that game then you'll be happy, knowing it's a positive result.

You're alluding to my comment on that i imagine in response to a red troll pretending to be a blue.

The thing is you did not even take time to think about the comment before getting your knickers in a twist.

Brief summary of my comment - some blinkered Liverpool fans are overhyping Thiago to hell. The moment he got linked to Liverpool his skillset became God like in every possible area.
Outrageous declarations being bandied around that he's easily one of the top 3 MFs in the world. Once more, way overhyping him! Not one of you ever had that thought about him before April of this year.
Biased and unworthy claims that he was MOTM in CL final and dictated everything good about Bayern are, well, overhyping him. He was actually very sub par in that game compared to his teammates and even his own previous form.
I said he's a good player! - but i stand by my view that he will find himself on the bench a hell of a lot because he will struggle to displace Henderson and Fabinho. Both are much better, more experienced here and i don't see either of them having the character to just give up their spots without a fight.
Of course this is not every fan, but nobody can deny how over the top some posters are going on about him.
