Ed's do you think we'll show any interest in Dembele? From various reports it looks like he's heading to Chelsea. Tuchel would probably be the man to get him back to where he should be after turning him into that player at Dortmund.

He'd be a good option under Klopp.

WrexhamRednose

{Ed002's Note - Ousmane Dembele (RW/LW/F) Klopp's interest does not seem to go away but the attraction will be that he is a Free Agent in the summer - although his preference is likely to be elsewhere unless Salah or Mane were to leave and it seems likely Mane will. Barcelona have tried again with a new contract with no luck and his agent is offering him around - but he is looking for a very large signing on package wages. The issue with signing a new contract surrounds the same signing on bonus he is requesting from potential new clubs - the same is being asked of Barcelona. PSG are seeking a French player still but have a preferred option and they don't need an Mbappe replacement - although Dembele fits the bill as a Di Maria replacement. Injury concerns, inconsistent form and high wages must be considered by any potential buyers. His agent has been told to find him a new club, and has spoken with (at least) Manchester United, Newcastle, Spurs, Juventus, PSG, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs. Most English sides would want far lower demands to consider him, but both Klopp and Tuchel do still like him. A new contract is looking less likely as Barcelona are progressing on his replacement.}

It makes you wonder, if Klopp and Tuchel weren't keen on him at all, has there ever been a player that priced themselves into being a free agent?

2.) 06 Jun 2022 17:45:54
Thanks for you’re time Ed well appreciated.

Ed's forgive me if I've missed it but what does the future hold for Joe Gomez? Is he available for transfer. Be sad to see him go as I think he's a quality footballer.

WrexhamRednose

{Ed002's Note - Joe Gomez (CB) Newcastle and Aston Villa are both interested in Gomez.}

1.) 19 May 2022 13:38:21
Neco, Jogo +Phillips Money to be used for Ramsay and a CB i reckon. Not sure Sepp is ready yet and we definitely need 4 top class CB's, to keep Matip fit and for the reasons of succession.
Ed's any idea where Bremer is going?

2.) 19 May 2022 14:16:09
Looks increasingly likely that Neco, Phillips, Gomez, Ox, Origi and Mane will leave.

In which case we'll need a right back, centre back, midfielder and a forward.

Ramsay, Bremer, Tchouameni and Gakpo all seem to be floating about a lot but never seen any of them play other than highlights to be honest!

3.) 19 May 2022 16:28:09
Rather we went for Bowen than Gakpo, Gakpo has strong Ryan Babel energy about him, which is not a compliment.

4.) 19 May 2022 17:03:59
VVVV, i said last summer we should've signed Bowen because i think it was obvious he was about to explode from how well he ended last season. It's too late now in my opinion. He'll cost Grealish money. £80-100m minimum. He is a top class player though, i agree.

5.) 19 May 2022 17:37:03
Have we moved on from Bissouma now?

6.) 19 May 2022 19:15:10
Flash, i think it turned out Bissouma had attitude issues or baggage. Think Villa are trying to sign him though.

7.) 19 May 2022 21:40:04
Funny that, I remember repeatedly reading on here how we wouldn't win a thing this season if we didn't sign him.
So he's no longer flavour of the month then!

8.) 20 May 2022 00:19:59
Correct Flash, although there is a bit of continuity in that Bissouma and Bowen both begin with B.

Also interesting to note that we didn’t like Traore and now it seems some of us think we shouldn’t be wasting our money on Tchouameni, seems B is still in and T is still out.

God I love the transfer windows 😁.

9.) 20 May 2022 10:29:37
West Derby, I think we should have a blend of B and T, Bowen and Tchouameni. That would be a decent window.

MK, the one thing that will keep Bowen’s price down is that he’s not an international yet. As long as Southgate keeps ignoring him there’s still a chance of being able to get him for a much lower price than City paid for Grealish, though in my honest opinion he’s a far better player than Grealish.

10.) 20 May 2022 13:39:45
Hasn’t the window started already though - Diaz was a target for July originally and Carvalho has (apparently) signed.

11.) 20 May 2022 13:19:41
Other than the tabloid rumours of Bayern and PSG, is there anything more conclusive on Mane leaving? He was saying he was very happy a few days ago. I may just be an optimist but I think all 3 (Salah, Mane and Firmino) will be staying beyond next season.

{Ed002's Note - Sadio Mane (LW/F) Has very high financial expectations in respect of a new contract but Liverpool will look to extending his contract. Bayern Munich see him as a potential replacement for a likely departure. Barcelona may see what they can do but have preferred options.}

12.) 20 May 2022 15:25:27
Thank you for the clarification Ed.

13.) 20 May 2022 16:19:28
I believe the interest in Bissouma has cooled with LFC and other clubs after he was accused of sexual assault. As far as I know the investigation is still ongoing.

14.) 20 May 2022 16:21:04
Ed, do you know if LFC expect Gomez to leave? If so, do you see them bringing a player in from the outside or promoting someone internally?

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know if Liverpool expect him to leave or not.}

Ed you have mentioned last couple of days about Rice being a perfect signing as being a player to play alongside and replace Fabinho but that won't happen as he won't end up here?

Where do you see him ending up?

WrexhamRednose

{Ed001's Note - if he moves this summer, I would expect him to be at City to replace Fernandinho.}

1.) 14 Jun 2022 01:23:14
I personally feel Rice has Chelsea all over him, going back to where he was when young. Probably next year when available for cheaper due to 1 year left on contract. Be surprised if he ended up anywhere else.

{Ed077's Note - but Chelsea aren't interested in him. Both the Manchester clubs are. I know things can change but right now Chelsea aren't looking to bring him in.

2.) 14 Jun 2022 04:19:19
Think it's going to be difficult for Chelsea to get him especially when they've more then few positions to address.

3.) 14 Jun 2022 07:15:15
I thought Rodri was Fernandinho's replacement? Maybe City can look to a youth player to cover the few minutes he plays? ???.

4.) 14 Jun 2022 07:46:18
Aren't City looking at Kalvin Phillips? I've said on here for some time that Rice would be a perfect signing for us. Can only dream.

5.) 14 Jun 2022 08:20:34
Rice may well be a better athlete than Rodri, but Rodri is the better footballer. Rodri is very under rated. Technically he's one of the best midfielders in world football. I don't think it'd be a good career move for Rice to replace Fernandinho's odd cup game in midfield and emergency centre back cover.

Man City are probably the only team in Europe who Rice wouldn't walk in to.

6.) 14 Jun 2022 09:30:26
Jeeeez. Rice is good but he is not that good. He has barley any goals or assists from midfield so he is more of a defensive player and I would rather have Fabinho over Rice 10 out of 10 times.

7.) 14 Jun 2022 14:03:56
Rice has 'barley' any goals? I like it, Malak.

{Ed077's Note - Rice and Barley; they're not even the same Genus. Heck theyre different family.

8.) 14 Jun 2022 15:05:26
Due to their price tags it would either Rice or Bellingham. I would go with Jude as he's younger. Plus Rice likely won't want us.

9.) 14 Jun 2022 20:22:38
Spot on, MKS. Technically, Rice is well behind Rodri, IMO. Rice has a great engine on him and is a very good player BUT technical ability wise, he is not in Rodri’s or Fab’s league just yet. With time? Maybe.

WrexhamRednose

1.) 19 May 2022 07:39:18
We want to keep him but we are also accepting that he might want regular footy.

2.) 19 May 2022 08:19:43
Spot on, SR. Gomez needs to be playing regularly cos he is too good to be on the bench. Personally, I would do a loan and then bring him back if Matip is to leave. But that's just me.

3.) 19 May 2022 08:35:37
I think he’ll sign a new contract.

4.) 19 May 2022 08:37:20
Matips had his best ever season fitness wise with us after coming off his worst ever season.

How Matips body holds up will be key next season but the problem with that is we don’t know in advance. Konate will likely get more minutes next season and if Matip does get injuries he’s there to step in. But the problem then is who steps into Konates game time if Gomez has left.

Phillips could very well be off and Williams couldn’t get into the Swansea side in the championship.

I suppose a lot of it goes down to what Gomez wants but id love to see him stay and like Oli said a loan with an immediate recall clause could work in all parties favour.

5.) 19 May 2022 18:25:52
People always forget about van den Berg who I think is good enough to be fourth choice centre back and he can cover right back.

08 May 2022 20:45:22
Alright Ed's I'm a new user to this site so take it easy lol.

Is there any interest in Jarrod Bowen from us still or anyone else? Every time I watch him I think he's a proper player. Works his socks off presses from the front and scores and assists. Took him a season to adjust from the championship but he's finally found his feet now.

WrexhamRednose

{Ed025's Note - bowen has been of interest for some time wrexham, hes a very good player but liverpool have failed to take things any further up to yet mate, but who knows?..

1.) 09 May 2022 00:13:17
Thanks for the info Ed appreciate it. Surprised a club like Chelsea haven't gone in for him with their inconsistent wingers who haven’t done anything. Not that West Ham would want to sell to them.

{Ed025's Note - Chelsea seem to have a penchant for big name players Wrexham, Bowen does not meet that brief because he’s a hard working no frills sort of player. Maybe if he had a foreign name and came with a super agent they would be mate..

2.) 09 May 2022 07:51:28
Don’t forget that Chelsea’s transfer dealings will almost certainly change significantly now that they no longer have Abramovich bankrolling the club. Further, the loan market they exploited for nearly a decade is also about to undergo extensive rule changes, so they can no longer abuse it solely to add funds to their transfer budget. It’s funny how Chelsea were in for Haaland right up until Abramovich was sanctioned, then they weren’t. Yet I’ve seen some claim he had made the club self-sufficient. Nonsense.

3.) 09 May 2022 07:06:38
Sounds about right Ed lol.
