Morning lads, does anyone know anything about the victims? Have they all left the hospital already? It’s very hard to find information on international media.
{Ed025's Note - there are 7 still in hospital the last i heard Baker mate..
1.) 30 May 2025 13:26:51
Thank you ed025.
{Ed025's Note - no problem mate..

I would like to thank the Ed’s for all their patience, knowledge and insights for yet another transfer window. The work you put in on making this site the best on anything Liverpool and football related is amazing and I wanted to express my gratitude for that.
{Ed002's Note - You are welcome, thank you.}
1.) 31 Aug 2024 12:36:20
Well said baker. A big thank you from me as well.
14 Mar 2020 13:35:23
To take our mind of things. A couple of years ago Ed002 said something about the french youth training on this site. If I remember correctly it was about making young players more versatile and less rigid in formations, please do correct me if I'm wrong mister 002. It made me wonder how football is evolving, the game itself. How do you guys and girls see the game being played in ten years time? It would be interesting to get the eds superior knowledge on this one to.
{Ed002's Note - A good question. You are correct that for a number of years the French have been training youngsters at Clairefontaine and the other French academies to be more versatile and adaptable with a view to less rigid formations being used outside of the defence in the future - and that continues as we move forward. In the coming years you will see China emerging as a footballing nation. Currently the leading academy (Guangzhou Evergrande) has been formed in partnership with Real Madrid where in excess of 30 Spanish coaches are working with the kids to develop versatile skills and techniques. The Evergrande academy is different from those being set up by European sides in China as it is not looked at as providing a revenue stream for the club, but a long-term plan to bring success to Chinese footbal. In ten years you will see more versatility in players than there is right now. So perhaps a good thing.}
1.) 14 Mar 2020 14:33:21
As always thank you for your insight in these parts of the game that us mere mortals hardly know anything about. Really interesting and something I look forward to seeing on the field.
{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

Hi JK,
Can I ask if you’re obsession with streaming is in general or just with Oli?
I personally don’t stream, but I also can’t afford to pay for espn + to watch all Liverpool games here in Brazil, even buying a shirt for my daughter meant we had some financial issues at the end of the month, nothing major, nobody starved.
What I’m trying to say is that for some people here on this forum it might not be so easy to pay for everything Liverpool related and maybe that should be respected too. We all support the way we can or the way we can afford.
1.) 29 Jun 2025 19:15:05
Baker why didn’t you just ask me on the thread I commented on?
Starting a brand new one is a bit melodramatic.
People can watch games however they want. My opinion is on posters who seemingly talk down to others like they are superior fans.
You might think I’m doing the same but that’s of zero concern to me.
2.) 29 Jun 2025 19:16:46
Streaming games is one of the selfish things that I do. I have no means to pay to watch every game, nor do I get the chance to watch every game, nor do I like leaving the family at home to go to the pub to watch a game. I support Liverpool, but I don't really subscribe to the "you're taking money out of the club's pocket" argument, because they either don't get my money and I watch the games when I get the chance, or they don't get my money and I don't watch any games. Seems silly to punish myself when the end result is the same.
Selfish, probably, but I don't lose sleep over it.
3.) 29 Jun 2025 19:32:43
The point of this thread is?
4.) 29 Jun 2025 19:44:25
I can be prone to a bit of drama JK my friend, you’re absolutely right there. But I actually started a new thread to call out exactly the same as you, I didn’t mean to give you the feeling that I think of you as a ‘superior’ fan, I quite like your posts and I adore the live chat, which you’re a big part of and which I use to follow most games. I just get upset sometimes with posters here making divisions between fans that go to games, follow the team around, buy all the merch.
I would absolutely love to do all that, I’ve only managed to go to one game in my lifetime and I probably will never be able to go again but it’s not a choice for me, it’s just what I can afford. All the best my friend JK and sorry for calling you out, I honestly didn’t mean to.
5.) 29 Jun 2025 19:58:13
Hi Marty,
Just some badly developed monkey with bad communication skills offering his opinion, which you can ignore or ridicule as you choose my friend.
All the best.
{Ed077's Note - time to move on from this topic, from this thread.
6.) 29 Jun 2025 20:20:23
Oli can be a condescending so-and-so. I think that's the problem.
I'm sure he's a decent bloke but his posting style can rub people up the wrong way.
I know I do the same with a lot of posters but the difference is, I'm always right ?.
7.) 29 Jun 2025 22:31:21
@baker since the thread u statrted is about me then, it is only fair I respond. Just so you know, I do not stream games. I have a full Cable Package where I can watch games from all top 5 leagues, CL, EL Conference, you name it. That was a made up story by JK23, amongst many of his lies and projection which I don't respond to.
Notice that he said that even tho, he does the same thing, he is not concerned. Well, JK23 does the exact same thing (talking down to others) YET has the audacity to lecture those who (and this is just his opinion) do the same thing. See the pattern of hypocrisy here? Who is the so called "Super fan" now?
Oh and the whole "I go to Anfield so my opinion is greater than yours" crap? Yeah, he and some others started it as some kind of flex so again, get your facts right cos I don't go to Anfield as I don't live in the country, let alone in the City so why would I think such a thing?
On the real, not arsed what JK23 has to say about anything or anyone as I don't respond to him EVER.
Eds Note - ...'Monkey' text deleted...
8.) 29 Jun 2025 23:18:50
Oli integrity isn’t your strong point then.
You’ve said in the past you stream games on YouTube.
9.) 29 Jun 2025 23:46:45
Olired, I don’t think (hope) that statesmen was aimed at you. I think he was calling himself it pal.
10.) 30 Jun 2025 00:13:29
Think he was talking about himself Oli mate.
11.) 30 Jun 2025 01:06:02
Oli, baker was talking about himself. Wind yer neck in.
And the thread wasn't even about you. Baker asked JK23 something.
You need to stop taking everything so seriously and maybe look up the meaning of the word 'banter'.
Oh, and stop brown nosing all the Eds while you're at it.
12.) 29 Jun 2025 20:18:04
Baker I don’t believe you were calling me out mate. I was rushing to leave for work which is a 4 hour drive (just on coffee stop) so my reply was probably blunt and fired from the hip.
13.) 29 Jun 2025 23:20:54
To ed077 and other posters on this thread:
The monkey thing was about myself, it was a rubbish attempt to put myself down. I’m terribly sorry for all the inconvenience I caused. My English clearly isn’t good enough to participate on this forum. I sincerely apologize for the trouble I caused. I will refrain from posting as to not cause any more disruption.
{Ed077's Note - don't refrain from posting mate.
14.) 29 Jun 2025 23:28:38
Now that FSG are spending money, we're starting to turn on ourselves as fans for not spending money on watching the team lol
Is that the point of this discussion?
Well if we're talking about how we watch the team, here is how I do it!
In New Zealand, our one major paid TV network is Sky TV. You can pay for the whole Sky TV with sports which is $60-80/ month depending which package you get.
Or you can get SkySport Now which is just the sports channels for $550/ year
Premier League and FA Cup is on Sky TV.
Champions League is on DAZN which is $16/ month
carabao Cup on BEIN which is $15/ month.
So if you want everything it's around $76-91/ month depending on the package with Sky
Add LFCTV on top is about another $15/ month and yeah we're talking something around $100/ month for everything and lots of early morning wake-ups to make the most of it hahahaha.

Since I’m typing and my beloved is taking care of my daughter, I’m going to take the opportunity to give my view on the dealings of Real Madrid getting into players ears years before to get them to sign on frees. I think this will backfire for them in time. I can’t imagine they are making themselves very popular with other clubs by doing this and I can imagine that at some point clubs are going to make it very hard for them to buy players from the respective clubs or will refuse to deal with them, just like clubs did with us when Klopp was tapping up players. My apologies if my posts come over a bit condescending, English is not my first language.
I don’t want to pretend I know things better than anyone else on this site, I’m just giving my opinion.
1.) 22 Jun 2025 00:50:56
Fair enough, Baker, but what about players tapping up Liverpool, recently?
Wirtz, Frimpong and Kerkez have all thrown themselves at the club whilst still being contracted to other clubs.
They've had Richard Hughes over an Andy Carroll for the past few months.
2.) 22 Jun 2025 03:04:55
Real Madrid don’t care @Baker, they see themselves as being very special and can get away with what they want. if I owned Liverpool, I wouldn’t even speak to them or their press puppets Marca and AS.
3.) 22 Jun 2025 07:35:53
@OP. So isn't their approach exactly what you're referring to?
What I mean by that is RM would never have to deal with a club as the player is free transfer.
Their MO is actually quite brilliant (and I'm hating that I have to admit it)
1. RM speaks to agent about player A, and tells agent to run down their current contract
2. Agent paints lively picture to player
3. Player is interested
4. RM and agent agree salaries and "pre-contract"
5. Player runs down current contract and joins RM on a free
Yes the above is very high level. but it just shows that RM don't have to deal with the players club at all.
Unless I'm missing something. and please, I'd love to be enlightened about the whole transfer process, so please someone correct me if I am way off.
4.) 22 Jun 2025 08:02:18
I just got reminded of the common phrase "all is fair in love and war". Bit of a cliché and over romanticized, but if you want to add a bit of realism, it should be "all is fair in love, war and business" ?.
5.) 22 Jun 2025 10:20:36
From galactico’s to giro’s.
21 Jun 2025 22:49:40
Pressed send too soon, my apologies
No other players will want to sign for the club and those methods are fortunately completely out of date.
Players are employees of a club, treat your employees with respect and other people will want to join your company. If you treat employees like crap nobody wants to work for you.
1.) 21 Jun 2025 23:53:10
Mr Bond is most delighted that you agree with Mr Shanklys Solution to replace any LFC player with an equal or better player, that way the power is always with the club.
As it's obviously been the best outcome for the club in its many successful past years, as your suggestions have never worked in the past fruitless negotiations etc and won't in the future also, reference the recent TAA saga, have you not realised that if konate also goes for free, LFC with TAA included would lose circa £80 million does LFC deserve that? according to your thoughts that's okay i. e. player before the club, that is why the clubs interests will always come first for me as I support the Clubs stance and not the players choice.
You obviously believe any player must benefit before Liverpool Football Club! I don't?
Liverpool Football Club will always supersede any LFC player
is my view point, as past history proves the Club always rises above any one player.
With regards to no one will sign for LFC using Shanklys method as a solution, Frimpong seems to suggest otherwise, and many, many others in the past and the future "Thanks Bill".
"Long Live Liverpool Football Club" is the boyhood team I support before any one player or agent!
2.) 22 Jun 2025 13:15:44
I can see that you are clearly very passionate about our club, which is a sentiment that we share and that I applaud you for.
I’m not saying we should put players before the club, Liverpool fc will always be bigger than whichever individual. I am however saying we should play by the rules. The Bosman ruling was made so football would comply with European labour laws, laws that were put in place to protect the rights of employees. I would hate it if these laws were watered down. In my opinion we need more protection for employees not less.
And we should do this with dignity, if employees sign a contract and they honour that contract they earn the right to be treated with respect and that includes when they leave for free at the end of that contract.
21 Jun 2025 22:46:48
Dear mister Bond,
I’ll give you my view on the situation of players going on free transfers. I agree it is frustrating to loose players for free and what the club can do against that is actually very little, the club could start contract negotiations sooner, two years before the contract ends, if the player has no intention on signing or the valuation between club and player is too far off, the player could be made available for transfer but even then it’s up to player to decide if he wants to move or not. If the player decides to leave at the end of his contract for free there is nothing the club can do about that because the player is an employee and protected by laws.
As an aside, maybe if other employees were a bit better protected by law, they wouldn’t need the food banks and I for one would absolutely love that.
If the player decides to go on a free and the club can upgrade during this time, great, put player free on the bench and play the new better player instead. The things I hear here about letting players rot in the reserves, make them do punishment are barbaric and worse stupid, if you treat players like that no other players will want to sing for the club,
1.) 21 Jun 2025 23:10:44
Ferguson managed to do just that. He punished a lot of players. Rio, for instance and yet they were seen as one of the best teams in the game and had no problem attracting top talent, did they? Of course, labor laws are important, but these players earn more in a week than most people do in a year. As things stand, the power lies with the players, and unless clubs do something about it, that power will only grow, especially with the rise of Bosman moves.
2.) 21 Jun 2025 23:58:25
Im not going to argue with you about the absurdity of players wages. But about fergie, different time mate, I’m not inclined to bring back bullying in the workplace.
I’m sure clubs will figure it out, look at us, lost he who shall not be named on a free and we’ve arguably gotten stronger as a team, because we’re a well run financially healthy club.
3.) 22 Jun 2025 00:44:12
The problem is more that the fans don't have all the power.
Clubs know all about Bosmans. Who do you think is picking up players on free transfers and paying out big signing on fees?
And a club will gladly sell on a player to make a profit if it's in its best interests.
20 Jun 2025 12:28:36
Not having a pop at anyone, but I just feel it’s funny that we’re calling professional football players mediocre or not very good, while we’re just a bunch of middle aged, or older, slightly overweight (yes I’m talking about myself here) men behind a screen.
{Ed001's Note - it's all context mate.}
1.) 20 Jun 2025 13:07:19
I know ed001, mine is context to I guess, but I can’t help myself to appreciate the absurdity of it. Continue as you were gentlemen. I absolutely love this site and the insights it gives me. Thanks to all for your contributions everyone.
{Ed001's Note - I often think that myself when I say it, but it is what it is.}
2.) 20 Jun 2025 13:30:41
On one hand, understand what you mean, on the other, we do it to all professions. We probably can’t do what they do, but when we see or experience an incompetent / mediocre / underwhelming chef / driver / accountant / executive / technician etc, we say they are hopeless at their jobs, cause we expect a professional in that field to deliver quality.
But you are right, it’s absurd because the worst PL players are definitely closer to Messi / Maradona / Ronaldo et al than we are to them.
3.) 20 Jun 2025 14:24:38
In my opinion there are no mediocre or poor players in the premier league. There are exceptional players and those who are measured against the elite. To call them mediocre is very harsh.
4.) 20 Jun 2025 15:01:07
You obviously haven’t watched Jarrad Branthwaite Gaga.
27 Jun 2025 18:03:43
When do you plan on saying it again?
24 Jun 2025 14:34:53
Google is free? Is that a rumour?
21 Jun 2025 17:23:23
@bond: you obviously forgot the public floggings on match days, that’ll teach him and everyone to respect our club and never to sign for us.
20 Jun 2025 19:37:44
I don’t believe Real Madrid will get to the final of the champions league, us on the other hand, with slot at the helm, we’ll do the lot.
10 Jun 2025 18:31:56
@Davey, they agreed on the left foot, the discussions now are about which toe has to touch the ball first. Brilliant post btw mate.
