if salah wants to leave ( demanding 500k a week ) how about us selling him and activating haaland's release clause.
if we cannot afford salah's wage demands then i'm sure most fans would be happy to get haaland .

davidvk

{Ed025's Note - haaland wants £800k a week david so that solves nothing mate..

1.) 22 Sep 2021 12:09:11
Transfer fever fogs people's minds.

2.) 22 Sep 2021 12:30:13
Cannot wait for Mbappe and Haaland to go somewhere else so we can stop with this nonsense.

{Ed0666's Note - what’s astonishing is how many believe that we have a chance with Haaland or Mbappe?

3.) 22 Sep 2021 12:34:15
800k a week? What's wrong tih those people. They are kicking a God damn ball.

{Ed0666's Note - yes but they only have a short career. 😂

4.) 22 Sep 2021 13:19:38
Footballers are greedy b#%#%#%# 800k a Wk!
Only certain people in life deserve that coin and its people who save life and change life for the better!
These pigs need to take a walk around a children’s hospital or any hospital to see kids who need major operations that maybe cost 60k but can’t afford so it doesn’t happen and their time on this planet is cut short!
Or the doctors who carry out miracle operations to save them!
Makes me sick!

5.) 22 Sep 2021 13:55:55
If we all stop watching football they won’t get any wages unless they got a proper job.

6.) 22 Sep 2021 14:11:23
Neither Mbappe nor Haaland will happen BUT hey I guess if we mention their names till we are blue in the face, they will come running to us and take an 80% pay cut just to play for us.

7.) 22 Sep 2021 15:47:43
I agree it's not right Jay, but if you were a footballer and someone said should we pay you 100k or 800k, what would you do?

It's the system that's wrong, not the individuals for taking what the market is offering them.

8.) 22 Sep 2021 17:24:18
Why would we sell salah. He is absolutely amazing and playing better than ever. And yes he is getting older but the bloke is unbelievably fit. He’s got a good 5 years left in him. Find the money and give him a new contract ASAP.

9.) 22 Sep 2021 17:59:51
Be interesting to see if anyone does jump in and offer 800k a week to him.
We’ve seen Barcelona get themselves in a right mess because (in part at least) of the wage demands of certain players, I wonder if that would put off some of these clubs that have money now? Especially when you think that he’s still very young, you sign him on 800k a week then your going to be stuck paying that until he signs his next contract (for even more money) because he effectively becomes unsellable because no other club in the world can match it.

10.) 22 Sep 2021 21:00:42
A lot of clubs can match that Mikey mate, that's the going rate now days hence Salah has been demanding 450-500K.

11.) 23 Sep 2021 02:09:49
An average "sound " investment should double your money every 4-5 years. So FSG bought the club for around 500 Million and this should be worth around 2 Billion (4 times), if you follow that standard. But it didn't. The club is worth at least 4 Billion today (8 times the initial investment after 10 years) (Ed002 says 10 Billion) . So it's pure madness everywhere. It's not just on kit prices, or matchday seats, or players' salaries or whatever else you want to associate with the club. It's a mad, mad world.

If the club accepts that Salah is a vital ingredient of the success on the field (which has a knock on or trickle down effect on everything else off the field) then they'll give him what he wants, while still trying to haggle a bit, so that everyone's ego is satisfied.

12.) 23 Sep 2021 02:17:57
Well said Jay. Love to see a consistent advert like the ones asking for donations on TV, just in the background every time Haaland his agent. Mbappe and his agent. In fact anyone Salah included. Those £5 a month will save a child’s life ads. Drinking poor water. Whatever it is. Imagine those ads on rotation while they ask for £500k/ £800k p/ W. Would love to just se their expressions having some 18month old baby suffering needing less then a % to live. Tell us all why they deserve this wage. Actually maybe those ads should play in the background of the sky sports music? Thoughts?

13.) 23 Sep 2021 02:45:41
£800k a week absolutely disgusting that they can earn in one week what I earn in a year. Some people have all the luck.

hi eds
can you tell us if we are in for camavinga if not why not, he seems to be just what we nweed in midfield.

davidvk

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool are not looking to replace Fabinho.}

11 Jun 2021 08:00:09
sorry if this has been answered, but can anyone tell me what gini is going to say about why he left, the papers seem to think he is going to drop some bombshell.
thanks.

davidvk

1.) 11 Jun 2021 08:57:03
I believe he is going to allege that Jurgen's wife rejected his advances which is why he left.

I'm not ITK though.

2.) 11 Jun 2021 09:17:03
Honestly his repeated crying and subsequent shafting of Barcelona seems somewhat indicative of why we felt it best to part ways. He clearly thinks he is worth far more than he actually is and is acting as if contract disagreements have never happened in football before. Quite honestly i wish he’d stop whining and just move on with dignity but apparently that is too much to ask, thanks for everything Gini mate but i think we’ll be just fine without you.

3.) 11 Jun 2021 09:56:18
How dare he "shaft" the unscrupulous Barca! i actually think it was Koeman, not Barcelona that wanted Gini all along and i doubt he'll last the summer. Maybe Barcelona wasnt an option anymore.

4.) 11 Jun 2021 10:14:33
Bit harsh AW. I get the impression he didn't want to leave, but this is his last big contract, he deserves to maximise his income and he couldn't get that here, so he moved on. PSG are weakest in CM, it's a great move for him and them, and he served us with distinction in his time here.

5.) 11 Jun 2021 10:26:10
Ya I'm with Rugby Parker, shouldn't be a big deal about this. He was offered a contract which he didn't feel was good enough so he didn't sign and is signing a better contract elsewhere. This can happen.

6.) 11 Jun 2021 10:54:41
I read he wanted similar wages as the likes of Salah, Van Dijk and Thiago. Considering the fact that those 3 are all arguably the the top 5 in the world in their positions, and Gini isn't in the top 50, i think he had been eating a few too many brownies from Amsterdam.

7.) 11 Jun 2021 11:10:21
I hope it's the media that's just regurgitating an older story and not something new that he's seeking out to have printed. I mean what's the point of it all? He got a 3 year contract and a much higher salary, as he wanted, so what's the point in flogging the dead horse? Let it go. Move on. His time at LFC is appreciated by most LFC fans, and will be remembered. If he's bent on revenge then the best one is winning the UCL with PSG. Get to work, bud.

8.) 11 Jun 2021 11:17:41
Started nearly every game in a team thought of as probably the best on the planet. Probably looking at other players who are injured more than him, not able to play 3 games a week like him and thought he contributes as much as these big names Irrelevant now anyway, be interesting to see if the club would make more of an effort if it was a similarly aged Mo or Sadio, or will they just be laughed at aswell?

9.) 11 Jun 2021 11:51:57
Some very unfortunate comments with regard to Gini. and many are untrue. Gini remains very popular amongst his former LFC teammates and the coaching/ management staff. All wanted him to stay but it wasn't in their hands.

10.) 11 Jun 2021 12:01:20
Non story. Player doesn’t sign contract and leaves. Rather he stayed and Keita left but that’s life.

11.) 11 Jun 2021 12:26:03
Its about tye closed offer given to him. There were no negotiations.

12.) 11 Jun 2021 12:37:29
Thiago in world’s top 5 of his position? Hmmm, no comment.
He clearly got the available funds on his contract that may have otherwise been allocated to Gini, but he spent about a third of last season injured and another half of it getting fit and coming to terms with his new role.
I can see why Wijnaldum was p’d off really, he played the vast majority of games over his time here and was a real part of the success.
I’m hoping that we see the best of Thiago next season but I do feel that the balance of the midfield has been adversely affected with Gini’s departure.
I’m hoping for a replacement / upgrade for him in this transfer window.

13.) 11 Jun 2021 15:10:16
Ah stop lads, if you were approaching your last contract and another company offered you near double wages you would be nuts to turn it down.

14.) 11 Jun 2021 16:02:37
Im not bothered with what Gini has to say and I am in fact, baffled as to why anyone else would care anyway. I am sensing over the past few days, that some posters seem or think Gini was somehow hard-done by by the club and/ or Klopp for reasons that are beyond my understanding. Footie is a business. Gini wanted certain terms. We were not willing to meet them and we let him go. So he is pissed off. So what? I did not see all this stuff coddling of a player who left under the same circumstances in the past so why now? That's business as usual. Why people are making 2 and 2 equal 5 for pretty much a nothing burger, IMO beats me.

15.) 11 Jun 2021 16:16:16
There'll be no bombshell. Papers are predicting a bombshell so that we buy their papers.

16.) 11 Jun 2021 17:56:06
We’re bothered Olired because, so far, Thiago has not been worth anywhere near the top dollar he’s apparently on. And there’s a gap in the first team squad that needs filling which I don’t think can be adequately done so from within, so that’s another £30 or 40m to find?

{Ed0666's Note - Thiago has not been worth his wages? Man gets decapitated against Everton, has a long lay off, then gets covid, and then has to adapt into the team. Last few games he was majestic. He’s gonna be a baller next season and if not then slag him off mate.

is anyone interested in mukoko from Dortmund, he seems to be very highly rated, could be a very special player cheaper and better than demblle.

29 Feb 2016 16:43:24
I understand that benteke isn't what klopp wants, but why is he refusing to play him?
I know he hasn't played very well when he has been picked, but he hasn't really been given a chance, just wonderd if anyone knew real reason for not picking a 30mill player?

davidvk

1.) 29 Feb 2016 17:00:34
He's been given plenty of chances and not taken it. He lacks any hunger or desire to succeed here. Talented guy but doesn't show it often enough.

He needs to be a big fish in a small pond. It suited him at Villa as the pressure is not as high as us demanding a win and performance each match. Coupled with the fact we play a high press game And you need to run and work your butt off, he's not suited.

2.) 29 Feb 2016 17:04:49
Has HAS given him a chance and benteke has jogged around offering nothing but frustration from our own players. He is not we ever needed.

3.) 29 Feb 2016 17:08:31
I think you answered your question by saying it isn't what Klopp wants, I think he will start Origi on Wednesday deservedly.

4.) 29 Feb 2016 17:10:50
To be fair Benteke did have a number of chances and didn't do enough. I hope he'll be given more chances to prove himself before the end of the season but he can't complain that Klopp has been unfair on him.

5.) 29 Feb 2016 17:20:35
He simply doesn't fit in with the style we want. Why play him if his not the right fit, Origi needs game time so rather play him. It was a silly signing.

6.) 29 Feb 2016 17:57:17
Origi offers everything that Benteke cannot. Beneteke may be stronger but Origi's positioning inside the box is better and his work rate plus desire triumphs Benteke's lazy a** every time. Benteke is not bad, just not a Klopp player. He had his chance and blew it, just like Moreno.

7.) 29 Feb 2016 17:59:08
If Origi comes off the bench in a high intensity Cup final and played his heart out from the word go and nearly won it for us, then you know Benteke is old news and won`t be here next year.

8.) 29 Feb 2016 19:11:02
Let benteke go he's not good enough full stop he's had more than enough chances I've seen a tethered horse move faster.

{Ed002's Note - It is hard to see why anyone would sign for Liverpool - vast numbers the fans are simply trashing the players constantly.}

9.) 01 Mar 2016 00:15:56
Not trashing the player. Just saying what the coach is doing as in, benching him because he's not good enough. It is not an insult to say that a player who's not good enuff, is not good enuff.
