Markovic to Fulham. Good luck to him. Hope he can resuscitate his career.

flidby

1.) 01 Feb 2019 07:17:23
Fully agree.

Please can any of the Edds now shed light in what his contract was at liverpool as it appears that stopped him. from making appearances. Or am I misinofrmed.

Will be interest in to. see how both ryan Babel and markovic do at Fulham.

{Ed001's Note - the only thing that stopped him making appearances was his terrible attitude and the fact he was crap when he did play.}

2.) 01 Feb 2019 08:22:01
Good for Markovic that he finally left. Fulham too with a goo buisness with the 6 moth deal, not taking any chances.

3.) 01 Feb 2019 08:40:50
Good luck to him. I'm happy he's finally gone, another player sat their taking wages for doing literally nothing! alright for some isn't it? lol.

4.) 01 Feb 2019 09:54:05
Agreed Salah. Happens to often these days. Good move for club and player.

5.) 01 Feb 2019 11:00:40
Well said Ed001. Someone finally said it. Am not one to hammer our players. But this lad was lazy you could see it when he played. I watched him several times for u23s and lads like Curtis Jones Adam Lewis etc were actually running past him to close opposition down. Yes the club bought him obviously to early and didn't help. But he had what 3,4 loans and failed in most of them. He was also offered several chances to go restart his career and choose to sit on his contract not playing football. I hope as he matures in age he will step up and use his ability and actually put his full effort in.

{Ed001's Note - I think he is going to be one of those who never achieves what he should have to be honest.}

6.) 01 Feb 2019 12:27:35
I'm just glad he has now gone, a major transfer failure for Liverpool . Markovich moved too soon and cost far too much money, and to have him hanging around Liverpool all this time is a joke when he was clearly never going to play.
His loan moves have failed and if I remember correctly he refused to go elsewhere and chose to do nothing at Liverpool but just take wages.
He will fail at Fulham as he won't put the effort in. Liverpool made a mistake signing him, but he hardly tried to prove his critics wrong by putting the effort in.

7.) 01 Feb 2019 12:38:29
Sorry for being daft (in general, not just on this question! ) but am I right in thinking this is a permanent deal to Fulham on a free transfer, not another loan deal?

{Ed001's Note - for once you are not being daft. For once.}

8.) 01 Feb 2019 16:04:15
I’ve said on here many times when people have said we ruined his career, this guy had a massive opportunity when we signed him. He couldn’t cemented his place in one of the biggest teams in Europe and forged a great career for himself.
Unfortunately he decided he’d made it and took his foot off the gas to the point where he was not in Rodger’s plans and after that not in Klopp’s.
He had chances to move but the money was more important than kickstarting his career so he hung around like a bad smell draining as much money from us as he could whilst putting in minimum effort.
It’s all very well and good blaming the club for signing him too early but surely it’s down to the player to force his way in rather than us having to play him regardless of his attitude or effort levels.
About time he was gone, as far as I’m concerned Lazar the leech was never worthy of pulling on the red shirt in my opinion.

9.) 02 Feb 2019 08:53:08
I simply can't believe it's been 4.5 years that he was with us, already. Given the various chances, opportunities and alternatives given to him over that time, and the clear failures at each step, he has no one to blame other than himself. You sleep in the bed you make. Wish him good luck though.

10.) 02 Feb 2019 09:05:30
Zed: Sorry for being daft
Ed001: for once you are not being daft.

01/ 02/ 2019 12:38:39 - NOTED.

{Ed001's Note - I did the same and noted the date too. We should hold a celebration of the moment on its anniversary, as the world will never see the likes again.}

11.) 02 Feb 2019 12:59:48
“Do you remember where you were and what you were doing when -“

😂😂😂.

12.) 03 Feb 2019 19:05:05
😄 we love you really Zed 👍.

I see we're being linked with Neves. Can't find anything through the search engine sayjng that we're linked. Is it nonsense?

flidby

1.) 18 Apr 2018 15:36:50
Its some agent apparently suggesting it, can't see wolves having been promoted being too pleased with that. Although it is that leach of a person who takes all kind of money out of the game that is his direct agent.

2.) 18 Apr 2018 15:56:54
The agent is Jorge Mendes i think, according to the story he has both neves and talisca on his books. The story says he is trying to set up a move for Neves to LFC and talisca for Wolves. Would be a bit of a tasty pay day for him I guess.

3.) 18 Apr 2018 16:48:23
I'd be happy with Neves. He's taken to the rough and tumble of the championship and stood head and shoulders above the rest.

4.) 18 Apr 2018 18:33:51
Neves was too good for the Championship but his agent couldn't engineer a move last season. His performances have shown he's a star and Wolves got a more than fair return for what was a giant fee for a Championship club. Selling him isn't really necessary -- the plan was always to be in the premier league -- but I think he will move again in the summer. Wouldn't mind a 21 year old with his talents in the squad, that's for sure!

5.) 18 Apr 2018 22:41:40
I'd love Neves here, for no other reason than he is one of the stars of CM15 and I always buy him!

6.) 19 Apr 2018 09:37:15
Doesn't his agent also own a percentage of Wolves?

7.) 19 Apr 2018 12:23:40
Its not that his agent couldn't get him a Prem move, more that Mendes is some sort of director or something for Wolves and has moved his pawns around to get Wolves promoted, and its worked. I am sure Mended will get some bonus for his part in that, and will now profit should any clubs come calling for the players he represents.
The Chinese owners of Wolves now also have stakes in Mendes' company, its all incestuous all benefiting each other in kind.
I do like Neves though, just feel its lazy journalism. We were linked the last two summers and we have a CM leaving, link is too obvious to make.

8.) 19 Apr 2018 12:25:55
Other way round, Spud, was reading that the Chinese owner of Wolves also bought a 20% stake in Mendes's (agent) agency before buying Wolves.

9.) 20 Apr 2018 11:57:17
I think it's the owners of Wolves who owns a stake in his agency.

03 Apr 2017 22:22:59
Mane out for six weeks.

flidby

1.) 03 Apr 2017 22:48:22
Results aren't expected until tomorrow. Nice try though.

2.) 03 Apr 2017 23:06:38
Take it you're on the medical team seeing as he's not had his scan yet. anyway maybe put TAA in his position as he's pretty pacey wouldn't upset the team dynamic too much. Hopefully Manè is back sooner.

3.) 03 Apr 2017 23:22:08
Not good news. Luckily Coutinho seems to be getting back to his best and LFC have hit some form too. We need to get on with it.

4.) 03 Apr 2017 23:29:39
Mane had a scan yesterday. Swelling could not provide definite answer as such fears are that he will be out of commission for >6 weeks; devastating for our top 4 ambitions.

5.) 04 Apr 2017 00:06:54
Praying for a speedy recovery. He was massively missed during the AFCON.

6.) 04 Apr 2017 01:53:34
lol just insert some dude who is pacey and the team dynamic won't be upset too much. #fifalogic.

7.) 04 Apr 2017 14:05:51
We haven't won a game when he hasn't started so this could be a tricky time. I don't see anyone else in the squad who can step up and give us what he brings.

8.) 04 Apr 2017 23:05:48
We're going through some staffing change and the most common thing people say is "oh they'll be big shoes to fill". I'm like maaaan c'mon, we got to bring in someone new to do their best at what they are good at and my job is to set the conditions so they can be successful. If we just want to bring someone in to try and be Mane then its no wonder we have suffered without him. Klopp will have to tinker and adjust the tactics and the established players will have to adjust on the pitch accordingly. If they constantly look up field hoping for a flying senegalese bullet in disguise as origi or TAA or woodburn, then we can expect a hard time. Play to people's strengths man!

What's going to be weird about next season is 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th.
Us and City are streets ahead of everyone else. United are in freefall, Hazard is leaving Chelsea, Arsenal need to rebuild their whole defence and Eriksen might leave Spurs.
The gap is only going to get bigger.
It's going to be like the Scottish Prem.

flidby

1.) 12 May 2019 22:41:32
This is the same as the posts predicting city dropping points over the past few weeks . the last 2 times we finished second we ended up outside the top 4 the following season . let's drop this baseless arrogance so maybe the football gods may start to smile on us.

2.) 12 May 2019 22:54:53
We really should not get carried away. Next season is a long time away.

From 2008 and 2014, the following year we had very high expectations and did not qualify for the champions league. Granted we lost our best players following them seasons, but we may not be as lucky as we were this season.

We should just be vary of the fact that nothing is given in football.

3.) 12 May 2019 23:01:05
Seriously? There is no god given right for any team just to expect to be granted a finishing position in the league. We will have to work harder and be just as fortunate to be in any kind of race. It's not about us choosing 3rd, 4th, 5th. the team have to earn the right to reduce the options so that others are fighting for those places. Do I think we can challenge next year? YES. Do I think it's a given we will? NO, Let's go game by game. YNWA.

4.) 12 May 2019 23:02:58
Jesus don’t say that. can never count your chickens! Could be another city 20 point win, spurs could sign a couple players and be contenders. As soon as we think we deserve to be up there, we won’t be.

5.) 12 May 2019 23:16:38
stop, stop now.

we went from scrapping 4th, to a 97 point second place finish.

We signed Alison and fabinho.

don't underestimate others or over estimate ourselves! We have to stay focused, appreciate an awesome season and realise none of it's for granted.

6.) 12 May 2019 23:50:20
I think the gap will get smaller, no way the top 2 will share 195 points again next season IMO.

7.) 12 May 2019 23:57:58
Are you Salah in disguise buddy?

8.) 13 May 2019 00:20:34
Hahaha you won't be in the top 2 next year so 3rd, 4th or 5th will be funny haha reds.

9.) 13 May 2019 00:41:56
I reckon a few of those clubs mentioned might buy a player or two in the coming months. Hazard is replacable, so is Erikson.

10.) 12 May 2019 22:02:02
I disagree, we'll be lucky to get top 4.

11.) 12 May 2019 22:41:32
This is the same as the posts predicting city dropping points over the past few weeks . the last 2 times we finished second we ended up outside the top 4 the following season . let's drop this baseless arrogance so maybe the football gods may start to smile on us.

12.) 13 May 2019 02:15:59
I don't think so. We won most of our games. Results wise it going to be almost impossible to improve it. But what you can count on is the whole league improving, adapting to big teams like city and liverpool. Its going to be a closer season but still I don't see anyone getting past liverpool or city for years.

13.) 13 May 2019 02:19:45
One thing scary about new season is that we really don't know how every club will perform. It's just like pressing a restart button on a video game. We may strengthen and win the title but we also may underperform like our previous experience. The season after our title challenge on 2008 and 2013 we failed miserably. I really hope we learn from our mistakes not to let our important figures leave and keep strengthening the team. But even if we strengthen our team we don't know how other clubs build their team for next season. Man City could strengthen more than us, Arsenal could finally find someone who makes their defence solid while keep having a potent firepower, Pochettino could find the next step to bring the title, nobody knows. When the final whistle of this season blows I am really proud of this team. I know they have done the best they can but I also felt disappointed. I felt disappointed because after this hell of a title fight, somehow there is other team who can outperform us. This team deserve a title. We collect more points than most champions before yet we still failed to land the title. When we put our best fight like on 2008 and 2013 there was always that team who steal the title. So next season there is no guarantee that the title race is only between us and City. I really really hope we keep this team and add some quality on some position. City will spend big again and if spending big like City is the way to land the title then so be it. I hope our owner will keep back Jurgen to buy anyone he wants.
In the end, supporting Liverpool is like supporting my own child. I believe in her, I believe she will do her best and never let me down. But in the end even if she fails I will hide my disappointment, keep give her a big hug and say well done, you've done ypur best. We go again. You'll never walk alone.

14.) 13 May 2019 04:36:51
I wouldn’t be so sure.

15.) 13 May 2019 05:44:01
Welcome negativeredsalah, I've been expecting you.

16.) 13 May 2019 09:09:56
VAR next season too - makes it even more unpredictable.

17.) 14 May 2019 04:22:50
The one thing I fear is realistically we can't be expected to hit 97 points again. I do predict another great season and a title challenge but I'm afraid of this notion some fans have of entitlement to win every game. So much this season I've listened to the team being criticised and faulted, . If this level doesn't even satisfy some fans I can only imagine the level of expectancy next year.

Similar to salah, he performed so high last year that he hasn't been given the praise he deserves this year. He finished with the golden boot and i see some fans ranking him as no.5/ 6 in our player of the year. If this was his debut season everybody be drooling over him.

Let's not put too much pressure on the team, we've built something special under klopp and our time of league glory will come under him I really do feel.

23 Feb 2019 11:23:37
Does anyone else feel like people are paying too much respect to United?
Yes they've had a great turn turnaround since OGS came in but I also think they've been lucky.
Spurs should have beaten them. It was only an unbelievable (even by his standards) display by De Gea that got them a lucky win.
Burnley should have beaten them.
An under strength PSG did beat them.
They're definitely playing better but defensively they are all over the place.
They've had an incredibly favourable run of games since Mourinho's departure.

Cardiff
Huddersfield
Bournemouth
Newcastle
Spurs
Brighton
Arsenal
Burnley
Leicester
Fulham

They demolished Cardiff, Bournemouth and Huddersfield but the rest could have gone either way. Even the Arsenal game who have in Mustafi the worst defender out of any of the top 6 sides.

I'm surprised by the lack of confidence going into this game by our fans. I feel like we're going to give them a hiding that has been on the cards for a while.
The only thing that could stop this is De Gea.

flidby

1.) 23 Feb 2019 11:44:04
I think they have played well under OGS and I think Liverpools players will be nervous. Ever since OGS came in it's been a case of other teams fans saying it was only Cardiff, it was only Huddersfield, it was only Brighton, it was only an unlucky Spurs. If Liverpool don't play well tomorrow it will be a case of thier fans saying it was only Liverpool. United won't get a hiding tomorrow. 2-2 for me.

2.) 23 Feb 2019 11:52:06
If out want United, i think everyone would agree with you. The fact that these games stand alone outwith the context of a normal league game, coupled with them in decent form and high spirits, makes people worry. Not me though, i reckon we'll stuff them and go on and win the league.

3.) 23 Feb 2019 11:52:30
Should start "if it wasn't United"

4.) 23 Feb 2019 12:13:55
Liverpool's players will be nervous. but United's players who need the points to stay in the top 4 going into March won't have a care in the world? Big difference in doing the business when nothings expected of you compared to somehow being most people's favourites against the best team in the league.

5.) 23 Feb 2019 12:17:32
The number of times that De Gea saves with his feet because the striker plays the ball on the ground, lift the ball a couple of feet in the air that will stop him saving the ball that is on the floor, he must of saved a least four against Spuds with his feet.

Ollie Gunnar Solskjaer = OGs (own goals in Football Abbreviation) let's hope we win by an OG the best way to win a game is when the opposition scores the winner for YOU?

6.) 23 Feb 2019 12:20:02
I agree about this fixture usually but who in their team understands the passion of a Liverpool Utd derby?
Young? Rashford?
Their big players don't.
Pogba wants to leave. Sanchez doesn't want to be there.

7.) 23 Feb 2019 12:39:19
The 70000 fans first of all will set the tone that this is very much a fierce derby. You could say the same about us, Trent being the only local boy. Football is gone this way but both sets of fans will never let the players forget the importance of these fixtures. going to be a belter.

8.) 23 Feb 2019 14:05:58
Yeah, it’s complete luck, United are bang average. Since Ole took over United have won more games, scored more goals (apart from City) conceded fewer goals, created more chances and gained more points than anyone else. He’s a lucky sod isn’t he? Yes yes we’ve won away at Arsenal, Spurs, and Chelsea but they’re all awful so there’s no credit there. 11 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss is a dreadful record, but better than anyone else’s over the last 13games. Funny that

I have no idea what the result will be but I do know we’ll give you a game, something we didn’t last time. Klopp has created a happy camp who believe in each other, in a couple of months Ole has done the same at United.

9.) 23 Feb 2019 14:39:34
We will walk into Old Trafford with our heads held high with utd the underdogs. Thdy will have to come and play, they will want to and that leaves space. I reckon klopp will go with the trusted milly hendo and gini. Fab has been great, he has also played some bad dangerous infield passes.

10.) 23 Feb 2019 17:09:40
In fairness Ole has them playing some nice stuff and actually as a team again. Since he took over I think their form has been the best in the league, followed by us and City.

I wouldn't say luck then as they've played some good teams too and yes Spurs would've beat them (if they didn't hit every shot right at DDG) but I wouldn't under estimate them tbh

Be a tough enough game, though coming from a family of Utd ones I would obv love to thrash them lol.

11.) 23 Feb 2019 17:29:57
OGS has had them playing well, no doubt. All that won't mean jack when the first whistle goes. It will be the reality of the field that will matter then. We are on the cusp of winning the PL if we do our boss and the players know that. What Utd is doing in terms of consistency after over half a season, our boys have been doing ALL season long so what will change? Cos it's Utd? NO.

Klopp does not coach that way. He himself said it. You don't give the game any more importance than it deserves. That is what our boys have been doing al season so again, why should our approach change cos it's Utd. I ain't buying it.
Our boys will be ready and raring to go and provided we start fast like we did vs City and take the first couple of chances that come our way, we will have a chance to win. LET'S GO!

12.) 23 Feb 2019 18:15:31
I pretty much said what you did AJH. This "it's only. " attitude is wrong. OGS has your lot ticking and it will be a great game.

13.) 24 Feb 2019 11:14:35
No match in the Premier League is a easy one. You can't be lucky 10 games in a row. Its going to be a though away game, against a team of players full of confidence. 3 points today would be massive.

14.) 24 Feb 2019 20:41:04
Well he gave you 2 examples in spurs and Burnley. I don't believe in luck against spurs cos de gea was class, that's not luck. That's a player putting in a world class performance for his team, no different than a striker getting a hat trick.

Burnley they drew with 2 late goals, again not luck, that's grinding out a result. I see his point though, he referencing all the bottom half teams ye have faced and ye played Chelsea and arsenal at the right time. Credit where it's due OGS is winning games but I do still feel this United team can be vulnerable. It's set up perfectly for a proper high stakes derby.

I posted this earlier at 5.30 so maybe no one saw it. I’m coming up from London for the Bayern game but I’ve got to travel back that night. Can anyone suggest a supporters travel service or a forum where people share taxis etc? Any suggestions much appreciated x.

They went to the theatre in the west end, were double booked.

The reply got me chuckles. They're injured flidby. Commentators mentioned that Hendo wants to play with injury but Klopp told strict NO.

Sorry Ed but that is not true. I know Werner and he is absolutely mad about Liverpool.

flidby

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't matter what individuals think - they are not naive and none of these ideas are anything to do with the benefit of the game. You must be incredibly naive if you think it is. I have explained this over and over - you are trying to defend people who want whatever they can get for themselves and their investors - they have had the spectacular growth out of Liverpool and it has now faltterened out - they want it back and if tehy cannot rip off the British and European game to get it, they will sell Liverpool and re-invest elsewhere. THis is an investment business - it is there to make money.}

We've got
Henderson
Wijnaldum
Fabinho
MIlner
Keita
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Lallana

All of whom when fully fit are starters and all vying for 3 places.
We need to lose at least one as it is. At the moment it's Lallana
who has unfortunately fallen down the pecking order.
I seriously hope this rumour is bs. We do not need another midfielder.

He did well whenever called upon this season. When he is fit his energy and pressing is second to none in the squad.
So excited for this new season.
We've got a great squad, all trying their hardest to be in the first 11.
Love our team and our manager.
